“Wake up.” Harry felt something tickle his nose as he tried to hide under the covers. “We have so much to do today. There is the Ring of Kerry and St. Michael's and the O’Shea Bar …”
“Gin, please.” He groaned as he watched Ginny bounce around their bedroom. “I need about three more hours of sleep and two cups of coffee before I can handle this. Someone tried to run me out of bed all night.”
“I have wanted to come here since before the children were born.” Ginny stopped twirling and plopped onto the bed beside Harry. “We have five days together, without the children, to explore. The Ring of Kerry takes four hours so you need to be up, showered, dressed and caffeinated in the next twenty minutes.”
Harry reached up and grabbed Ginny around the back of her neck, pulling her down for a quick kiss. “You are adorable when you are this excited. Go, get us some coffee while I shower. I think I can meet your time demands with a little bit of magic.”
Harry watched her bounce out of the bedroom as he swung his feet out of the bed. This trip to Ireland, and a week’s worth of babysitting, had been a Christmas present from her parents. Ginny did not know that she was getting an anniversary present when they got to St. Micheals. The steam from the shower helped wake him up and Harry was almost dressed by the time Hermione returned with their coffee.
“I ran into a guide from the Ring of Kerry tour.” Ginny sighed as she took a sip of her drink and handed Harry his. “We will get to have lunch during the tour. She said they have popsicles as dessert today. Have you every had a popsicle?”
“Love, breathe.” Harry chuckled as he took another drink from his cup. “Aunt Petunia would let Dudley have them anytime he wanted them. I didn’t get to try one until I visited your parents the first summer I escaped Dudley.”
“Mum loved to make her version of them for us.” Ginny sighed. “She would mix together sugar, water and food dye. Then, whe would pour it into molds and use a freezing charm. If we were really lucky she would add fresh fruit. She would always make us wash off in the pond after we finished eating them. I swear, Percy was the only one of us that could eat a popsicle without becoming a sticky mess.”
“Let me get my shoes on and we can head out.” Ron set his coffee cup on the bedside table and reached for his shoes. “Maybe we can walk off some of your energy before lunch. You will have to be quiet when we visit St. Michael's.”
“Hurry up, slowpoke.” Hermione bounced out the bedroom and towards the door of their suite. “I have things to do and magic to see.”
“But, I have plans, too.” Ron whispered as he watched his wife imitate a sprite. “I wonder how much magic she will find in a Muggle church.”
The small velvet box in Harry’s pocket was starting to feel really heavy. The nervous energy that had fueled Ginny this morning was now making him fidget.
“This church is beautiful.” Ginny whispered as she pulled Harry deeper into the nave. “The light through the stained glass shining on the walls is brilliant. It feels almost magical.”
“Some people compare magic and faith.” Harry whispered into Ginny’s ear. “You have to believe to make things happen. They say there is a well behind the church that is as magical as the light dancing through the windows here.”
“I’m all for discovering more magic in a Muggle church yard.” Ginny continued walking towards the front of the church, looking at the stained glass windows and the color they cast through the church. “I don’t know that I have seen anything more magical than what I am seeing now.”
“The only way we are going to discover more magic is if we go looking for it.” Harry tugged Ginny’s hand and led her towards the door in the back of the church. “Take a walk with me. Let’s see if we can find the magical well in the churchyard.”
“I never expected to have an adventure in a churchyard.” Ginny tried not to laugh as they left the church building. Harry seemed nervous but it was nice to have a little quiet time with him. Between work, kids and life, they had not had many moments like this in the last few years.
“Here it is.” Harry stopped at a pile of rocks with a small door in this side that linked a little like a pyramid. “This is supposed to be St. Micheal’s spring. It’s water is said to have healing powers and magic.”
“It’s strange how we hide magic in such humble places.” Ginny let go of harry’s hand and walked around the pile of stones. “Who would ever expect a pile of stones to hide healing and magic?”
Harry pulled the small box out of his pocket as he watched Ginny walk around the hidden spring. “It’s like hiding in plain sight. No one looks at the humble thing when they are looking for magic.”
“I like how you find magic.” Ginny was surprised to see harry down on one knee and reaching for her as she finished her circut around the spring. “Harry, what in Merlin’s name are you doing?”
“Ginerva Molly Weasley, will you marry me?” Harry took Ginny’s left hand and slid a ring on her ring finger to join the two that were already there. “You are the magic that I need every day. I love you.”
“Harry James Potter, what are you up too?” Ginny felt the wings of the golden snitch ring wrap securely around her finger. “We have been married for years. I am the luckiest witch in the world because I get to wake up with you every day. Get up off your knees and kiss me.”
Harry could not stop the smile that was spreading across his face. He could see the humor and love dancing in his wife’s eyes. “So I can take that answer as a yes?”
“With faith, promises and a little magic every day.” Ginny stood on her tip toes and kissed her husband. He could be strong and he could be silly, but today, he reminded her that he would be hers, always.
