What's a mob to a king? What's a king to a god? What's a god-like semi-immortal supervillain to his wife?

Summary:

What if Midoriya Inko decides to take matters into her own hands and completely destroy canon?

Her son still breaks his bones, but hey, at least a few less than in canon. All for One could never do anything to his lovely wife, and if she grabs him by the tie to drag him off, well it's not like the people she left in the dust can do anything about it.

Work Text:

Midoriya Inko was a stay-at home mum. Her absent husband provided her with enough money so she could live comfortably with her son. At first, when he went overseas, she accepted that and helped raise Izuku. It was a lot of work taking care of a baby after all. She had to quit her job, but her husband provided, so it was fine.

That was until he didn’t return and Inko couldn’t help but worry. She knew what her husband did, after all. Sure, the money kept coming, but the calls came more and more infrequent, and she wondered just what exactly she had done wrong. Izuku was old enough now to take care of himself so Inko could go back to work, but no-one wanted to hire someone who hadn’t worked in a while. At least that’s what the people who turned her down said.

She knew why they really turned her down. A quirkless son was just too controversial. The topic of quirks always came up, and she couldn’t hide her son’s lack of a quirk.
Something must be wrong with her to give birth to a quirkless child after all.

She couldn’t find a job, no matter where she looked. She didn’t need the money. Hisashi kept sending it, even if she hadn’t heard from him in years. Not even a single phone call. Just the same money sent every month.

She didn’t need the money, but Inko was bored. There were only so many scarfs to knit and books to read after all.

So one day Inko decided to join a gym. Nothing much, but at least she had something to do. And she did have a lot of time on her hands. Her stature didn’t change much, but she could easily carry a lot of grocery bags now. She even caught up to the neighbourhood cat once. She even trained her quirk, if only to have a bit more variety in her training.

When Izuku was in his last year of middle school, he started joining her on morning runs and weightlifting. It was a nice family bonding activity, even if she wasn’t sure why Izuku tried so hard suddenly.

He wanted to apply for UA, and even if she was worried, Inko was the last person to stand in the way of her son’s dreams. She may even have upped her own efforts to give Izuku more motivation.

When Izuku returned in bandages on the day of the entrance exam, so sure that he had failed…Inko hugged him close and told him that he could still reach for his dream. Even if it took longer, she would support him. Even if he clearly lied about his quirk. She knew better than to ask. Maybe he did come after his father.

In the end however, Izuku was accepted into UA and Inko couldn’t be more proud. Even if he kept breaking his bones. You had to start somewhere after all.

Into the first week of school, Inko had a bad feeling. Something just felt…wrong. And she had nothing better to do after all. She may have walked to school with the excuse that her son had forgotten his lunchbox. He hadn’t, but Izuku should eat a little more.

When she arrived at the school, a boy from Izuku’s class, Iida if she remembered correctly, sprinted to the school in panic. If Inko may have overreacted and sprinted to where he came from, well, no one could blame her.

And if she found a monster there that was attacking her son and his teacher, well, she’s sure no one could blame her for accidently dislodging a few of it’s vital organs. And if said monster did suddenly collapse, well, who could trace it back to her?

The villains as well as the children and their teacher all looked up to her suddenly. Silence rang throughout the USJ, until it was pierced by one unbelieving shout.

„MOM?!?“

Before she could make any excuses however, All Might arrived and the villains scrambled to run away. With the focus off of her Inko went to check on her son, who had once again broken a few bones. At least only a few this time.

She handed him the lunchbox she made.

She also explained herself to the police. But who would suspect a worried mother? She was let home quite easily after a quick interrogation. The most important thing was that her son was safe.

-

Inko was very proud of her son. He had done incredibly well at the sports festival, even if he broke his bones (again). But he had made first place in the obstacle run and even reached the quarterfinals. He also told her about his new friend, Todoroki.

Unrelated, a few days later a certain number two hero was found stuffed in a trashcan, with the obvious signs of a slap on his face. Inko would deny any accusations.

-

It was a beautiful day and Inko was cycling to Hosu. Izuku was somewhere on an internship and she wanted to distract herself from the fact that he would probably sport more broken bones once he returned.

She hadn’t expected to receive a message with Izuku’s location, which was pretty close to where she was right now actually. Her son really did end up in trouble quite a lot.

First a group of villains, and now the hero killer. He couldn’t do much without his knives though. And Izuku’s new friend even helped to apprehend him. Her son had found great friends. Who else could you fight serial killers with?

And if another monster was trying to fly away with her son, well, they couldn’t blame her to pull him back with her quirk. She had trained after all.

And this time, Izuku walked away without any broken bones.

-

Izuku was on a training trip and once again Inko had a bad feeling.

The bad feeling turned out to be two broken limbs and a kidnapped Bakugo. They didn’t do themselves any favours by kidnapping him.

She couldn’t just let her son walk into danger alone, but he wouldn’t want his mother following him, so she decided to just trail after them quietly.

Such good kids, trying to rescue their friend.

Inko hadn’t expected the big bad villain to show his face. So this was the reason why his poor son had so many hardships in his first year of high school. How dare this asshole-

He spoke.

And Inko recognized that voice.

Maybe storming onto that battlefield wasn’t her brightest idea. But she had expected her husband to be overseas doing his criminal activity.

But no, he was here. And even if he looked like a shriveled potato, he could have at least visited his son once in a while.

„HISASHI SHIGARAKI MIDORIYA!!!“

The battlefield froze. All for One flinched. All Might was panicking. Inko just strode forward, until she stood in front of her husband.

„How dare you? Since when have you been back? Is this why you haven’t visited Izuku? Do you have no shame? And why do you look like someone put your face in a flower pot?“

All for One looked at his face in stupor.

„Inko honey, you’re not supposed to be here…“

„And you are supposed to be in America!“

„Yes dear there were some complications and umm…can we talk about this later? I’m kind of in the middle of something…“

Inko grabbed him by the tie and dragged him off to where Izuku had rocketed himself. The supervillain didn’t complain and followed silently. All Might raised his hand as if to say something, but no words came out of his mouth.

Izuku ran to his mother.

„Mom what are you doing?“

„Izuku sweetie, this is your father. He doesn’t look as good as he did back then and he has a lot of other things to answer for, but this is him. Hisashi, explain yourself.“

All for One looked between his wife and his son.

„Nice to properly meet you Izuku. I’m your dad.“

Izuku shook his head in denial.

„No! You can’t be!“

Inko ruffled her son’s hair.

„I’m sorry sweetie, but it’s true. Even if he can’t exactly call himself a good father right now.“

Izuku took a step back.

„All Might has been more of a father to me than you!“

The villain gasped.

„No! Everyone but him!“ He wailed.

Inko grabbed her family and marched off somewhere. The heroes didn’t dare stop her. The battlefield was left in stunned silence. They didn’t really know where to go from here.
