Coffee confessions

Summary:

Courtney never had crushes, she stayed professional not matter what especially at her job. it was small but It counted. So why was she trying to ask a girl out on her shift?

Work Text:

For weeks, Courtney had been trying to ask out the girl that always came to the coffee shop she worked at.

That girl was Gwen, a goth girl with teal dyed streaks in her hair and the only person Courtney knew that could pull of blue lip gloss.

She sighed as she finished Gwen’s coffee, walking over to the counter and ringing the small silver bell. “Gwen! Your coffee is ready!” Gwen got up, putting her sketchbook on the chair she was sitting on. She took the cup filled with black coffee away from Courtney and smiled. “Thanks.”

“No need to thank me, it’s my job.” She tapped her fingers nervously on the counter as Gwen turned the cup to see the special message Courtney wrote.

Black coffee

Gwen :)

(PS. I like you, In a gay way.)

Gwen stared at the message for a while before leaning over the counter and kissing Courtney on the lips.

Courtney gasped but melted into the slight taste of blueberry on her lips. They pulled away and Gwen chucked. The silence was thick afterwards and the only sounds made between them was Gwen sipping her coffee. “So, I’m assuming you like me back?” Gwen nodded, blushing and looking away nervously. “Oh.” The silence was back.

“So, I bought tickets to this horror movie coming out soon, and I thought it’d be nice if we went and saw it together, what do you say?” Gwen rubbed her chin a little, making Courtney slightly nervous at the potential rejection. Gwen ended up giving Courtney a kiss on the cheek. “I say… sure.”
