Chapter Text
The sight of Paris from the top of a building is a view like none other. A sea of shining lights and muffled city noises. The cool breeze as it brushes against your face, and your partner. Sitting right beside you, enjoying it all.
Together.
“M’lady, it’s starting to get late, don’t you have school tomorrow? Assuming you even go to school. As I know nothing about you.” I said to her.
“Chat…”
“I know. We can’t know anything about our secret identities..” I sighed. I knew I couldn’t get one lick of information from her, but I thought would at least try.
My eyes
The fight before this was extremely tiring. Two fights exactly. The second was… my friend? Girlfriend? Ex? I’m not even sure. Her name is Kagami. We fenced together, and I loved hanging out with her… but I couldn’t tell her who I was. Not anyone. So today, officially, we fell out of touch.
I know wasn’t right for her. But at this point and I don’t think we are even friends.
Good old Adrien! Always messing it up.
“Chaton? What’s wrong.” Ladybug said.
Didn’t realize I visibly sighed.
I turned to m’lady’s side and saw her face. Turns out she had it hard too.
“You know, we might not know who each other are… but I think we know each other more than words.” I told her. It wasn’t supposed to be romantic. It’s just finally the truth.
“Yeah. I don’t need to know everything about you, trust you. And I think… more than ever I need you the most right now.” She said.
I blushed at her words.
“Does m’lady actually enjoy my presence?” I laughed playfully.
“Oh come on! Not in a weird romantic way. You’re ruining the moment!” She nudged playfully.
“Maybe ‘ruining the moment’ can be are always.” I laughed.
“You’ve ruined the moment. It’s now ruined-“
“Hahahaha!”
Times like these are special… I don’t really get these domestic moments a lot.
It was starting to get late… if my dad noticed I was gone… scratch that, if Nathalie told him I was gone, I’d be in deep shit.
“Welp, M’lady, I’d like to stay and *chat*, but I DO have school tomorrow and I am not afraid to share that fact.” I say pulling out my silver weapon.
Ladybug got up and brushed herself off and pulled out her yo-yo.
“Yeah I gotta go too, thanks for reminding me.”
“See ya next patrol, Milady.”
“Ha-Ha.. you too cat.”
I make my way across Paris, back to my house.
“Ughhhh… Claws in.”
I practically fall on the bed into a trance.
BEEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP
I jolt awake to the sound of my alarm.
“Huh, wuh?” Bleary eyed, I walk over to my alarm and shut it off… it’s 8:20??? I’m late for class!
“Why don’t you just sleep in?” Plagg schemed.
“Because I actually enjoy school??” I said.
I run to my closet and am tugged back by something.
It’s a piece of thread caught on the bed.
I left my clothes on last night I must’ve got it stuck on something.
“Ugh, I’m stuck.”
“You should pull on it harder then it might let go.” Said the mini god of destruction in my pocket.
I tugged on it some more.
It ripped a hole in my white shirt.
“Wow, thanks cause that totally worked.” I roll my eyes.
“I mean, you are welcome because it did tug off of the bed.”
“YEAH AND NOW THERE’S A HOLE IN MY SHIRT.” I yelled.
The door opens and plagg flies into my pocket as if he was never there.
“Is everything alright I thought I heard yelling?” Nathalie asked, seeming a bit confused.
“Ah yes, Nathalie, thank you.” I sweat, a little nervous.
“Ok… Then make your way to the car. We have no need to be late.”
“But-“
“No buts. You were the one that begged us to go to school. Did you change your mind?”
“Uh, no-“
“Then please make your way to la voiture.”
It may sound polite, but there’s no room for arguing in her tone. I grab my bag and walk in the car.
She didn’t seem to notice my shirt.
I sit in the car and worry. I didn’t even have time to shower. Ugh.
As I walk up the steps to the Françoise Dupont high school, I run into Nino.
Nino Lahiffe is my best friend. One of the first friends I’ve ever made, next to Marinette.
“Hey dude!” He held his hand up, ready for a high five.
“Hey Nino!” I high fived him back.
“Sorry I was late.”
“Dude, it’s fine… I’m late too, hahaha” he laughs
“I stayed up late doing the homework.”
“Th-the homework?”
“Yeah dude, the homework. Don’t tell me you forgot about it.” He exclaimed, Concerned and a little surprised. “I mean, what could you possibly do that would make you forget about something so important? It’s worth most of our grade.”
Oh yeah, sorry Madame Bustier, I couldn’t do the homework. Why? Because I was out fighting crime of course.
Ugh.
“Oh, yeah I did it. I must’ve forgot because of all my photo shoots. I- I did do it though.” I lied.
“Oh good dude. I hope I get a good grade.”
I wonder if Ladybug will let me use the bunny miraculous. Just once. Please. Let me go back in time to fix my mistakes.
I walked into the classroom with a pit in my stomach and sit down. Everyone else is already here… except for one person.
SLAM!
“Je suis désolé I’m late, Madame Bustier!” Marinette said as she busted through the door, papers flying.
I walk over to help her pick them up and as we pick the papers off the floor we bump heads.
“Ouch!” She exclaimed.
“Sorry Marinette, here.” I apologized as I passed her the papers.
“Ah… uh-ah Adrien! I’m sorry it’s all my dault- I-I MEAN Fault.” She stuttered out.
I’ve always wanted to talk to Marinette and hang out, but I always wonder if she gets nervous around me… or if she even likes me at all… I’m so clueless when it comes to social things.
Alya eyed Marinette out of the corner of her eye looking disappointed? Or maybe upset? I don’t know.
I walk back to my seat and fumble to get the homework out. I look back and see that Marinette is too. I wonder if we could work on it together… if there’s enough time.
As school goes on I zone out and play with the strands of thread on my shirt. I hope no one notices it. Can’t have Paris’s top designer’s son be in a torn shirt.
It’s time for lunch, I hope I can eat in the library so I can get my homework done.
I start to walk out when someone tugs my shoulder.
It’s Marinette.
“Hey, Marinette.”
“Hi… so uh, I was wondering. I saw that you might not have gotten your homework done either… s-so would you like to finish it with me? I was up late with… stuff. So I couldn’t finish it.” She stammered out quickly
“Me too! I-I mean I would love to help with your homework.” I replied.
“Really?” She asked.
“Yeah, what are friends for?” I said.
She looked down.. maybe in embarrassment? Or… sadness.. until her eyes locked onto something.
“Is your shirt ripped?” She exclaimed, not taking her eyes off what was now known as my shirt hole.
Ah. Cause of course the future fashion designer notices my stupid shirt.
“Ah, yeah..”
Her face flushes red.
“I’m sorry I didn’t mean to sound like I was being rude.” She said, fighting down the flush of her cheeks.
“May I ask how it happened?” She looked more together by that second question.
“You know.. life is pain. Ripped it when I got in bed.” I unceremoniously exclaimed.
“Hahaha, I know how that feels.” She giggled.
“I can sew your shirt back together. Y-you know after you’re done… wearing.. it.” She said as she shifted her feet.
“Ah, thanks but I couldn’t possibly take advantage of your kindness. You’ve already done enough.” I also have ten of this same shirt from so many modeling gigs… but I can keep that bit out.
“If you don’t want me to, then you can do it yourself.”
“Huh?” I said, puzzled.
“A-Ah I- I mean at My house, I can teach you how to sew it yourself. Then if you rip it again falling into bed, then you can use my sewing machine or some needle and thread to fix it again.” She was adamant. There was no changing this girl’s mind.
“Well, Ok! Sounds like a good idea. So I meet you at your house after school?”
Marinette’s eyes widen. It looked like she hadn’t planned that far ahead, and suddenly her face was a blossoming rose once again.
“Oh. Oh yeah… sure! Whenever y-you want moo-I- I MEAN TO.” She stuttered.
“Well, I’ll meet you at the library in a bit so we can finish that homework we somehow both forgot about haha.”
“A bientot!” She exclaimed running out the room faster then a Plagg can eat cheese.
“You’re going the wrong waaay!” I yelled back.
She came back, looking a new shade of pink and said, “Thanks!” Covered her eyes, and ran the other direction.
Plagg flew out of my pocket with a mischievous face.
“I see you’ve taken my advice on there being more than one piece of cheese to dip in.” He (I assume) smirked back.
I roll my eyes.
“Oh come on Plagg, she’s just a friend.”
