"So he didn't even apologise, and gave me some stupid sandwiches" Ellie said.

"What a dick." Dina responded, right behind her.

"You can say that again."

Ellie and Dina were riding Shimmer on their way to Seattle. They were going through a wooded area, and it started to get less and less dense.

"Looks like were getting out of the woods." Dina said. "Hey,babe, what's that?" she pointed out.

As they trotted, a very big metal wheel revealed itself among the trees.

Ellie's eyes lit up.

"A ferris wheel!" She sighed excitedly.

"Wanna go there?"

"Hell yeah!"

Shimmer went from trotting to running. In a few minutes, they were there.

"Holy shit" Dina said, amazed. "it's not just a ferris wheel, it's a whole ass carnival! Too bad it's abandoned.."

"Wait" An idea formed on Ellie's head. She turned her head and torso around to face Dina. "You think there's still power?"

Her girlfriend smiled.

"Let's check it out! Tie Shimmer here." she pointed to a lamp post.

They both got off the horse, and went on their quest to find power.

"Where do you think a generator would be?" Dina asked, looking around.

"Not sure. Maybe somewhere around the wheel?"

They walked around a bit more.

"Oh, look!" Dina exclaimed. "A gift shop!" she looked at the small dilapidated wooden building.

"And there's a popcorn stand over there too! Man, I've always wanted to try some."

"Babe, it's probably stale" she giggled.

"Oh, guess you're right. Alright, let's go in!"

Dina and Ellie coughed as they walked in.

"This place's a dustfest." Dina said between coughs.

Ellie grabbed a rock and threw it at a glass window, breaking it.

"I guess that's one way to freshen up the place." Dina stated

Ellie laughed. The dust started to lift and go out the window.

They explored the shop, finding dusty t-shirts, postcards and toys. Dina seemed to find something and hurried to it.

"Hey babe, come look at this!" She called out.

As Ellie hurried towards her, she turned around, fronting a shelf of toys and trinkets. Dina then faced her girlfriend, suddenly wearing a pair of glassed with a mustache attached to it.

"So" Ellie leaned on the shelf "Do I look hot?"

Ellie chuckled.

"Hotter than the sun, babe." She gave her a peck on the cheek. Dina took off the glasses and put them back on the shelf.

"So I think that's all. Let's continue looking for some power."

With a nod of agreement, they got out of the dusty gift shop. Both of them wandered around for a while, blidlessly looking for a generator or anything that could make the ferris wheel work. The sun was setting.

Ellie sighed.

"Damn, nothing, huh?" she said, disappointed.

"Well, we still got the wheel, and it's golden hour. How about a nice view to end the day?"

Ellie smiled, and they proceeded to climb to one of the seats of the ferris wheel, hanging a couple of meters off the ground.

They both sat there, hands locked, looking at the sunset.

"What a view." Dina sighed dreamily.

"Yeah" Ellie said, looking at her girlfriend. For her, there's no view in the world that can overcome Dina's beauty.

Dina looked back at her. They inched closer and closer, and soon they were kissing. For a moment, they could forget about everything. For a moment, things were okay.
