«Yusaku, did you see it?»
«What?»
«The shooting star. You could have made a wish».
Ryoken had only managed to catch a fleeting flicker in the sky with his eyes, but that had been enough to stir something inside of him.
It would have been nice if Yusaku had found that star, and all the others as well.
(Ryoken would have given him all of them, bar none).
«It got away from me. But you saw it, so you can make a wish for me».
«Okay».
He closed his eyes, and in an instant, in his mind he gave a shape to what he yearned for with all of himself at that moment.
And in his heart he hoped it would last a lifetime.

No more shooting stars were seen that evening
(maybe the sea had swallowed them all up, or maybe they had arrived too late, after the show had ended).
Ryoken and Yusaku were walking near the seashore and the sand was cool against their bare feet.
«Ryoken».
«Tell me».
«I'm happy to be here with you».
Ryoken turned, losing himself in Yusaku's green eyes, those same eyes that had made Ryoken fall in love with him.
And he smiled, bringing his lips closer to his, thanking him with a kiss.
That last shooting star was in such a hurry that it had accomplished his wish in no time.
(I only wish for Yusaku to be happy).
