Chapter Text

“Any relic of the dead is precious, if they where valued living” - Emily Brontë

Beep beep beep
The dull sound of an alarm clock filled the silent room.
A slender hand reached out from under the baby pink covers, comically slapping the alarm clock off the desk.
Slipping out of the unmade bed, a young girl with dark green hair, that though after not being brushed since last night, still fell neatly around her face.
“Today was the first day of sophomore year” Gilda thought to her self, grabbing her steal framed glasses of the bed side cabinet, sliding them on her slender face.
Makings her way threw the old bungalow, to the kitchen where her grandma stood, fresh toast in hand.
“Morning dear, looking forward to the new school year?” Her old granny smile brightening the room, as she placed down the fresh toast on the table.
“Yeah! The new library should be done by now, can u image all the new books they got in?” Gilda’s voice became higher with each passing word. The thought of having so many more books to read and learn from was so exciting to her.
“Ha Ha your just like your grandfather” a solemn silence filled the room “bless his soul”
Knocking on the door ended the silence.
“GILDA!” And energetic voice shouted threw the door”UP AND OUT OR WE ARE GONNA BE LATE!”
“Coming coming” rushing to open the front door.
“Morning Gilda” don smiled brightly at her”MORNING GRANDMA GILDA!”
“Morning dear!” The old lady shouted back “both of you go and have fun at school!”
And with that they both set off for there first day of sophomore year.
With hopes of a fun year.
