"As always everyone did an amazing job! We shall continue practicing tomorrow!" Ibara said with a cheerful voice, it was not a surprise even during practice the choreography was perfectly executed and their voices stayed synchronised throughout the entire song.
The group picked up their things, but before Ibara could leave a certain green head called him.
"My apologies your highness, I'm afraid I cannot keep you company, there is some paperworks that needs to be done by the end of today."
Hiyori pouted, his boyfriend's answer wasn’t surprising, but he still wanted to spend some time with the snake. Lately it seemed like Ibara was avoiding Hiyori and he didn't like it one bit, the older idol thought he had made clear Ibara could rely on him, whatever was going on inside the snake's brain was a mystery to him. Jun had said Hiyori was imagining things, but Hiyori already knew his boyfriend very well, he was simply using work as an excuse to run away whenever he wanted to.
The green head saw his partner leave the room and sighed, he would find out what was bothering the unit's producer sooner or later, nothing stays hidden for a long period of time. Hiyori picked up his things and went back to his dorm, he would take a long shower and prepare for tomorrow, it was going to be a special day after all.

The next day Hiyori was woken up by his two room-mates, Kanata and Rinne. They wished him a happy birthday and gave Hiyori a plushie, as expected it was a fish he didn't know the name of, but it was cute and for now that was enough for Hiyori, he would ask what kind of fish it was later.
After a bit Hiyori left the two and went to the kitchen, he was going to meet with the rest of Eden, fortunately the four had their schedule free so they could spend the entire day together and that was something Hiyori was looking forward to.
Arriving at the kitchen, he saw Jun and Nagisa were present, but there was no sign of Ibara.
"Nagisa-kun, where is that snake?" Hiyori asked, already knowing what the answer would be. The way Nagisa and Jun looked at each other confirmed his suspicions.
"Ibara said he couldn't come, something about having a lot of work." Jun was expecting Hiyori to complain, but instead he just nodded and changed the subject. That worried the blue haired idol, whatever Ibara was doing, Jun hoped he would hurry up.
The three ate breakfast together and decided to go out, it would be no fun spending the entire day inside the ES building, Hiyori wanted to make the most out of this day even if Ibara couldn’t go.
"Jun-kun, you will have to carry everything we buy!"
"Ohii-san why don't you carry something for once?"
"Today is my special day, and so I demand it be treated as such."
"...I will help you, Jun."
"You don't need to do that Nagi-senpai, I will be fine."
Watching the two interact made Hiyori wonder how they weren't dating yet, he had spoken with Nagisa about his crush for Jun but the unit leader explained he wanted to make sure Jun was completely comfortable around him before dating. Hiyori knew Jun felt comfortable around Nagisa, he just acted in an awkward way because of his crush, but Hiyori would let his childhood friend find that out by himself.
The trio went shopping and despite Jun complaining about how much stuff Hiyori was making him carry, everyone was having fun. They stopped in a cafe to eat some sweets and all agreed to keep this a secret from Ibara, they would get scolded if the producer found out or he would make them work the triple during practice.
Everything was almost perfect. If only Ibara was there...Hiyori knew his boyfriend had a lot of work, he was the vice-president after all and he always made sure no harm was done to Eden, but the green haired idol wished Ibara would ignore his work for once and be there with them.
At least on other days Ibara would call him, but today not even a single text. Hiyori knew Ibara didn't forget what day it was today, he wasn't someone forgetful and remembering how much the green head was being avoided for the past days made him concerned. Was Ibara trying to break up and didn't know how to? That certainly couldn't be the case, or at least Hiyori hoped so.
"...Hiyori-kun, we should go back." Nagisa's voice surprised the idol, he got lost in his thoughts for a bit and forgot where he was.
"Hm? Why so suddenly? We still have some time." Truthfully Hiyori just didn't want to think about Ibara right now, and Nagisa knew that very well so why did he want to go back now.
"I forgot my present in the Cospro office."
"Jun-kun bought something for me? Then we should go! I want to see what Jun-kun will give me."
They paid for the sweets and went back to the ES building. On their way Hiyori was always asking Jun what was his present, but the younger idol kept quiet and didn't say anything about it.
The trip to the cospro office was quick, surprisingly they didn't find many of the other idols but Hiyori paid no attention to it, everyone was busy so it made sense they wouldn't see the others.
"Ohii-san, can you go ahead? I have to speak with Nagi-senpai."
Hiyori almost asked out loud if he was finally going to confess to Nagisa,but fortunately he stopped himself in time. "Good luck Jun-kun!" Without waiting for an answer Hiyori left the two and went to the Cospro office.
The idol opened the door...
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY HIYORI!"
Hiyori was sure some confetti got into his hair, but right now that wasn't important.
"Happy birthday your Highness!" Ibara was the first to walk up to Hiyori, with his usual smile. "Please enjoy your surprise party."
Without warning the older idol pulled Ibara into a hug, completely ignoring his protests.
"You viper! How dare you make me worried about you?!"
After almost killing Ibara with a hug, Hiyori let him go and greeted everyone else there. Everyone from Cospro there, as well as Kanata, Chiaki, Aira and Rei. The idol remembered Chiaki from when he went to Yumenosaki, Hiyori always said Chiaki gave the best hugs and sometimes would ask for a hug when they met, it was impossible to forget that.
"Your highness, can I speak with you for a bit?"
Hiyori nodded and followed Ibara, he was curious about what his dear boyfriend wanted to talk about, whatever it was it seemed quite serious.
Ibara took what seemed like two tickets from his pocket. "Would you want to go out with me this weekend? I cleared our schedules and all paperwork is done, so there is no need to worry ab- "
"Of course! You don't need to ask, I will go wherever my lovely snake wants." Hiyori gave Ibara a kiss on the cheek, he would never get tired of seeing how much Ibara blushed with a simple kiss. "Is this why you have been working more?"
"Yes! I couldn't have the risk of going away for two whole days and leaving things to do, that would give our enemy plenty of time to make a plan against us and that would be the worst for us." Ibara tried to hide his blush but failed completely, he would never get used to simple gestures of affection. "Let's go back, the others are waiting."
Hiyori nodded and the couple went back to the room everyone was staying in. Niki brought the birthday cake he made for the occasion, as expected the cake looked delicious and Hiyori couldn't wait to taste it.
"...Hiyori-kun, don't forget your wish." Nagisa said with a smile, he was happy to see childhood friend smile and have fun.
"Of course." Hiyori didn't need to think too hard about this, he already knew what he wanted a long time ago.
When it was time to blow out the candles, only one thought was in Hiyori's mind.
