5AM
It was a fine morning in Brunhilde and Goll's penthouse complex in Oslo, Norway. Their complex was casual and tidy for the most part. Architecture and furnishings lavished the room, and there was an open view of the colorful buildings and the city itself. There was a queen-sized bed for both valkyrie sisters to sleep on in their luxurious bedroom, and the living room had a fine dining table, kitchen, and a beige sectional couch with a 4K HD TV hooked on the wall.
Goll had gotten up early that morning, and she had woken her elder sister Brunhilde up from bed as they were awaiting the nominations for the prestigious Animation Awards.
"Hey, Brunhilde. It's time to react to the Animation Award nominations.", Goll said as she was getting ready to set the video up on the TV.
Brunhilde chuckled and smiled, "Alright, alright. I'm coming. After all, you've been more excited for this as I am. Our show Record of Ragnarok was selected as one of the 15 contenders by the awards branch for the Online-Streaming Girls Series category."
"What were they again? Just as a memory jog, that's all. I still do remember the shortlist of contenders for that category.", the short-haired valkyrie said.
Her older sister sat down and said, "The ones selected in that shortlist included, Japan Sinks: 2020, Great Pretender, B The Beginning: Succession, Drifting Dragons, Godzilla: Singular Point, Shadow and Bone, High-Rise Invasion, Eden, Big Shot, Trese, Yasuke, The Mysterious Benedict Society, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, our show Record of Ragnarok, and The Idhun Chronicles. Seen almost all of them. Honestly I think Great Pretender, Ragnarok and Idhun are some of the ones I hope will get in."
"Yeah... For sure.", Goll hoped.
A few minutes after, the nominations had begun, and the first category was for Best Animated Supporting Actor.
"By the gods!", Brunhilde surprised.
Goll hyped, "Animated Supporting Actor! Oh, shit!", moments before the category started announcing the nominees.

"Papenbrook's there!", Goll said.
Brunhilde clapped her hands, "I said that! Score!"
"He's there! That's it! I knew he was gonna be nominated!", the lilac-haired girl cheered.

Space Jam: A New Legacy
The younger valkyrie figured, "Jeff Bergman as Bugs Bunny!"
"Oh. Yeah, for a second I thought it was someone else.", agreed the elder valkyrie.

PAW Patrol: The Movie
Goll says, "Will Brisbin!"
"PAW Patrol? First surprise so far!", shocked the midnight blue-haired woman.
The younger sister told, "They thought it wouldn't happen, but it happened!"
James Marsden as Tim Templeton
The Boss Baby: Family Business
"James Marsden!", excited Goll, "James Marsden!"
Brunhilde said, "He's in! Who's the last one?"
Jimmy Wong as Din
Wish Dragon
"Oh my!", both reacted.
Goll said, "Jimmy Wong for Wish Dragon!", realizing, "Wow! Who didn't make it in?"
"No Bobby Cannavale for Tom & Jerry, and no Landon McDonald in Demon Slayer: Mugen Train!", Brunhilde informed in disappointment, "Also, no Sean Bean in Wolfwalkers, which would've felt like it would've been out of nowhere..."
"That movie is said to be eligible for this year despite it being from last year, but it's kinda their thing to add a few from the previous year in their annual awards sometimes.", thought the younger valkyrie.
Next up was Best Animated Costume/Character Design.
"Costumes and character designs...", anticipates Goll as she and Brunhilde witness the next nominees, which were:
The Stranger By The Shore
The lilac-haired girl reported, "The Stranger By The Shore... The yaoi anime film... No Earwig and the Witch.", with the last realization making her dissapointed.
"What do you mean, no Earwig and the Witch?", asks the midnight blue-haired woman, a bit upset.
The Mitchells vs. The Machines
"The Mitchells vs. The Machines...", both remembered.
Raya and the Last Dragon
Goll nodded, "Raya..."
"Oh, goodness.", smiled Brunhilde.
Over the Sky
"Over the Sky, the anime film also known as Kimi wa Kanata. And?", wondered the younger valkyrie.
Given
Goll shocks, "WHOA!"
"Whoa!", Brunhilde surprised.
The lilac-haired girl tells her midnight blue-haired elder sister, "The Given anime film in costume and character designs? We didn't realize it could get in! I don't see Vivo anywhere though!"
Best Animated Original Score was next.
Brunhilde and Goll waited seconds before the nominees in the category were revealed:

The midnight blue-haired woman said, "Yeah, but no Mitchells! No Mark Mothersbaugh!"

"Okay, but they snubbed Mothersbaugh and they put Tom & Jerry in this category!", perceives Goll.
Brunhilde explained, "And it seems like Tom & Jerry isn't shut out. I wonder if that means it could do well."
Soon was the Best Animated Screenplay 2, which was one of the screenplay categories since they were split into two seperate categories regardless of the source material it has originally or adapted.
The two alkyries then reacted to the nominees:

Goll and Brunhilde were immensely surprised by the last nominee, the latter yelling, "OH MY GOD! That was it! Oh my god!!!"
"They snubbed! They snubbed The Mitchells vs. The Machines!", Brunhilde's younger sister overreacts, "They snubbed The Mitchells vs. The Machines!"
Brunhilde stresses out, "We can't count on this!"
Then, there was Best Animated Screenplay 1.
"Oh my god, they snubbed The Mitchells for Screenplay! And Nezha Reborn was there!", stimmed Goll as she and Brunhilde then looked at the next category's nominations:

Goll and Brunhilde cheers, "WOLFWALKERS!", applauding and repeating this a few times, the latter saying, "Hold on, we're gonna see who's here... If Burn the Witch gets in...it's a major player."

"No, wait, Wolfwalkers got in, what the hell is gonna happen? I didn't even pick it because I thought they were gonna put it in...", Brunhilde continued as they looked through the nominations.

The younger valkyrie overreacted again as she and Brunhilde stomped in their seats and slapped their knees, "OH MY GOD!!! They fucking snubbed Raya!"

"Space Jam- GREAT!", Brunhilde said, who has seen the sequel to the film, "GREATNESS! Greatness! But, no Raya!", distraughtly as she said about Raya's snub in the category, "This is the first snub for Raya..."
Then was the first subsidary category for animated television and streaming, being Best Girls Cartoon Series.
Brunhilde pondered, "Okay, what have we got?"
The Casagrandes
"Alright.", Goll nods.
Brunhilde says, "The Loud House spinoff, sounds good."
DC Super Hero Girls
"Super Hero Girls. Got it.", the elder valkyrie said.
The younger sister said, "DC..."
The Owl House
"The Owl House?!", surprises Goll.
Brunhilde presumed, "Saw that coming."
Amphibia
"Amphibia, and...?", anticipated the lilac-haired girl.
The Ghost and Molly McGee
Goll said, "Molly McGee. Okay, very decent!"
"Good selections right there.", accepted Brunhilde.
Then it was the sole live-action category in the Animation Awards, Best Live-Action Girls Series.
The shorter sister said, "Live-Action Girls Series. This is the only live-action category, so that's a bonus."
"Wonder what shows they got this time.", the taller valkyrie said, before the nominees had started:
Secrets of Sulphur Springs
Goll interested, "Sulphur Springs..."
"Never heard or seen it...", Brunhilde pondered.
The Astronauts
The lilac-haired valkyrie said, "Astronauts..."
"Heard it was alright.", answered the midnight blue-haired woman.
Sydney to the Max
Both nod, "Sydney..."
Punky Brewster
"Punky Brewster?!", surprised Brunhilde and Goll, the latter enthusiastically said, "They're going at it now!"
Just Roll With It
Brunhilde assumed, "Alrighty."
"Just Roll With It. Okay, they didn't put Raven's Home or Gabby Duran, as said from the shortlists.", presumes Goll.
The elder sister said, "I am totally surprised that the Punky Brewster revival got in because I've heard that the show in the 80's was quite popular back in the day."
"Totally.", the younger valkyrie agreed before she fistbumped with her sister.
And the last category before the intermission of the nominations was for Best Animated Supporting Actress.
The nominees both girls reacted to were:

"HOLY SHIT!", appalls Brunhilde.
Goll evasperated, "Awkwafina! Chloe Grace-Moretz's not here! Chloe Grace-Moretz for The Addams Family 2's gone! They're not nominating her! It was in the Top 5 poll!"
Brianna Knickerbocker as Macy Baljure
Burn the Witch
"YES!", Brunhilde and Goll celebrated with the latter saying, "Brianna Knickerbocker! Brianna!"
Brunhilde pumped her fist, "OH! Burn the Witch is getting nominated!"

Wolfwalkers
Suddenly, both Goll and Brunhilde were shocked by the sudden double nomination of Wolfwalkers as well as the snubs it had ensued from it. For a few moments, gasps were made, and their facial expressions were agape and full of shock. Held-in screams of surprise were slowly bursting out. Utters of 'what' escaped from their mouths.
"SHE'S NOT SUPPORTING!", Goll screamed, "She's been campaigned in lead!"
Brunhilde stunned, "Who had that insider information-"
"What? WHAT?", the lilac-haired girl overwhelmed.
The midnight blue-haired woman thought again, "Was nobody leading Wolfwalkers, I don't understand- What? Why?!"
"Okay, Wolfwalkers has some nominations so far, I get that, but... NOBODY told me...they were putting her in Supporting!", Goll commentated.
Brunhilde reacts, "That was completely out of nowhere!", consummating, "No Chloe Grace-Moretz for Addams Family 2, no Cherami Leigh for Violet Evergarden: The Movie, no Maya Rudolph for Mitchells..."
"And! No Natasha Liu Bordizzo! For Wish Dragon!", added Goll.
The elder sister understood, "Yeah, her too. Even though it seems Wolfwalkers is doing well. And The Addams Family 2 is looking to get no nominations."
"Raya and the Mitchells missed Screenplay so far... What's happening?!", the younger sister doubted as Brunhilde figured out the reason, "With that?"
Brunhilde said, "Yeah. Yeah, it seems... It seems...that those movies would be snubbed for the likes of Wolfwalkers and Burn the Witch. At this point."
"I am not sensing Raya in Editing anymore. But as for Best Animated Picture, if there are eight nominees, I think Raya or The Mitchells is gonna miss. Because they nominated Brianna, they nominated Macy Baljure herself, Brianna Knickerbocker! And they nominated Eva Whittaker, they've been doing very well for both these films, so I think they're in.", theorizes Goll.
The older sister stated, "Absolutely agree with you. Burn the Witch and Wolfwalkers at this point are gonna get in. But I can't get over how Luca missed Screenplay!"
"Oh, come on, really?! Luca was good!", the shorter sister disappointed.
Brunhilde felt bad, "It was so good. Very sad it didn't get in..."
After the intermission ended, the next category to come up was Best Online-Streaming Girls Series, which would include both animated and live-action series in the mix.
"Online-Streaming Girls Series- Oh...", amazed Goll.
The midnight blue-haired woman warned, "Oh, this is a crazy category all the time."
"Don't know what's safe here. Hopefully our show doesn't succumb to that.", doubts the lilac-haired sister before the nominees announced were:
B: The Beginning - Succession

Then the next category was the only bonus category, which was for Best Girls Anime Series.
"Anime... We're in the bonus category... But we aren't selected in the contender list!", the lilac-haired girl dispirited.

The short-haired girl rustles her hair, "I'd say one or two of those shows would've got in."

"Let's go! Online-Streaming Boys Series!", Goll excites.
Brunhilde said, "Don't get too excited. There's only 10 contenders in that category, so we'll see how this goes...", as the nominees were announced;

The older valkyrie answered, "Animaniacs got in, alright. So no Star Wars: The Bad Batch, no Transformers: War for Cybertron Trilogy, not even Monsters at Work got in!"
"Those shows should've landed a spot, but if I had to take one out and put one of these shows in, it'd be Johnny Test.", preferred Goll.
Brunhilde agreed, "Yeah. Those shows should've been nominated."
Soon after was the category Best Mainstream Boys Cartoon Series, which had not only cartoons, but also select anime and/or movies eligible.
"Mainstream Boys Cartoon. Okay...", mellowly states Brunhilde, "I've heard our show was somehow eligible too, but it didn't make it in the shortlist..."
Goll estimated, "Alright, this is gonna be interesting...", watching the nominees:

"Yeah, I think I got everything but- Oh, no Violet Evergarden.", discerned Brunhilde.
Her sister answered as she nodded, "Yeah, for sure. No Mitchells either, or either Wolfwalkers and Space Jam too!"

"Raya has some nominations. That must be a good sign.", Goll says as she and Brunhilde look at the next set of nominees:

Goll astounded, "THE BOSS BABY!", clapping.
"Wow!", Brunhilde confounded.

"What's not here?", asked Brunhilde, "No Stranger by the Shore..."

Goll pondered, "I don't know if there's something missing besides that..."

The short-haired girl said, "Luca... Okay, no You Are The Beyond..."
"No You Are The Beyond, no Stranger by the Shore-", repeated the elder sister.

The lilac-haired girl cheers, "Wolfwalkers! They nominated Wolfwalkers!"
"It's there! I was doubting it could be snubbed, but that's starting to backfire for the better!", the midnight blue-haired woman enlightened.

"Oh, Animated Film Editing!", Goll perks up, "Editing..."
Brunhilde warns, "Important for Best Animated Picture.", as they carefully spectated the nominees:

"There's so many movies doing very well...", doubted the younger short-haired sister.

"Holy shit.", exclaimed the elder midnight blue-haired valkyrie, "Spirit-"

"Burn! The! Witch!", Goll recognized.
Brunhilde repeated, "Burn the Witch, and-"

"Raya's gone!", realized Goll, "Raya is gone!", underwhelmingly.
Brunhilde put her hands on her temples, "Oh my god! The Raya snubbage..."
"Raya missed Screenplay and fucking Editing so far!", the younger sister told.
The older valkyrie said, "Yeah, we didn't see Wolfwalkers either here."

"Oh my gosh, cinematography...", Goll reminded, "Please, please do justice here-", before the nominees were:

Both Brunhilde and Goll cheered, "WOLFWALKERS!", repeating this in acclaim.

"Raya.", both figured, with Brunhilde saying, "Obviously."

The lilac-haired girl knew, "Luca, and here comes Violet Evergarden?"

"And...?", both anticipate what the last nominee of the category was.
Space Jam: A New Legacy
The shorter valkyrie facepalmed, "Oh... Space Jam? Really?"
"So, it's still four out of five for the animated cinematography branch in another guild from what I've heard, except they did Wolfwalkers. Instead of the new Clifford the Big Red Dog movie.", explains the midnight blue-haired woman, "Which is actually what I predicted."
Best Animated Visual Effects.
"Honestly, the cinematography of Space Jam: A New Legacy wasn't perfect in my opinion, there were way more better-looking animated films that should've got in.", idealistically stated Goll.
Brunhilde interested, "Visual Effects. Like to see where this is going...", reacting to the next nominations:

Brunhilde shouts, "This was a wild Best Animated Picture category! I don't know if I like it or hate it, but it was surprising..."
"I was thinking if there were eight nominees, there's is no way The Boss Baby: Family Business, Burn the Witch and Wolfwalkers could get in, and they all got in! But Encanto only got...three nominations...", saddened the short-haired girl.
The taller woman ponders, "They just nominated something for Animated Directing that didn't get in for Animated Picture. That would be Fena. I mean, they also did that with Spongebob."
"Not only did they do that, but Fena didn't get in for Cinematography, for Editing, for Screenplay, not even for acting with either Brittany Cox or Anjali Kunapaneni, they were fucking great on-screen!", discusses Goll, before saying, "Anyways, the nominations were good."
"Let's hope these nominees make the best of it.", Brunhilde said as they began discussing what they just witnessed from the nominations.
