Work Text:
Trees of scarlet, skies of black
The forest’s presence takes aback
And you hear the distant sound of strange birds’ call
Don’t we all? Don’t we all?
Sword of wood and child of Light
The Heroes hope to quell the coming Night
And you fear that your past sins might make you fall
Don’t we all? Don’t we all?
[Below]
Girl of anger, Jack of Spades
They wander lost as their light fades
And they reel back when the path leads to a wall
Don’t we all? Don’t we all?
Scarf of cotton, broken heart
To hide one’s self so nimbly is an art
And he feels a press to serve the dark’s enthrall
Don’t we all? Don’t we all?
[Above]
Enveloppé! Penché!
A dance of Dark and Light seems it soon should decide the day
And reveal the betrayal felt in times of yore
Is that all? Is that all?
La pirouette! Battement!
The figments hark the Knight in hopes that he would find a way
To unseal the fountains hidden in their cores
Is that all? Is that all?
They say something dark and something darker hides its dark effects
Complacent in infame
While this picture stark grows ever starker as pieces connect
It’s still hidden outside of frame
A lone riverman warns to beware the man who speaks in hands
Whence it doesn’t rain
And his hand unfolds again beholds his ever-darkened plan
Can the Heroes survive this kind of pain?
Kris, don’t let your spark fade!
Are you alone? Insane? Afraid?
I know you feel yourself pulled by your seams
You may lose sight of hopes and dreams
But just know
A light shines in your soul
