In the world known as Tortus, there're three races which lives in that world. Those were humans, demons, and demi-humans. The humans live on the northern part of the continent, demons on the southern part, and demi-humans on the eastern part.
While the demi-humans live secluded from the views of the humans and demons, the other two have a strained relationship, which were war for hundreds of years. In terms of quantity, the demons lost to the humans, but in terms of quality, the demons were far surpassed the humans, making them balanced with each other. Both of the sides currently at stalemates, but there are some disturbing movements on the demons' side. That is they could tame monsters.
Monsters were presumed to be wild beasts that had experienced metamorphosis after mana was being poured into them. Actually, they weren't really sure since the humans could not fully understand monsters anatomy. Those monsters apparently very strong and could use magic which made them very dangerous.
Up until now, there were very few people who could tame monsters, and they couldn't handle two or three of them at the same time. Because of that, the humans lose their advantage against the demons in terms of quantity, which result them to have reached a crisis that never happen before and could threaten the existence of all humans on Tortus.
But, that crisis will be resolved soon.
The reason for that was the summoning ritual to call upon the brave hero from another world already commenced in Divine Mountain, where the central of the Holy Church. The ritual already started after the Pope of the Holy Church, Ishtar Langbard, an eldery man with a flashy white outfit, got an oracle from his benelovent God, Ehito, with one of his true apostle who disguised as a nun, Noint, as the messenger.
The Pope was excited when he heard the oracle from his God, even to the length shedding tears of joy. Then he asked all 30 bishops, garbed in white outfit but not as flashy as Ishtar, to commence the summoning ritual to summon the brave hero.
To commence the summoning ritual, all 30 bishops must form a circle, crouched, and started the chants while clasped their hands as if they were praying.
The bishops knew that Ishtar is still dissatisfied with their effort.
"Expand it more!" Ishtar ordered.
"We already expand it to all people who near the hero! We can't expand it any further!" One of the bishops cried to him while tried to hide his exhaustion.
"Just the Hero and his companions are not enough for Ehito-sama's amusement!" The Pope barked at them. Then he continued with stern expressions. "Along with the heroes, we need the strongest warrior from another realm to be summoned too, a different realm than the summoned heroes."
"A different realm than the summoned heroes!?" The pope nodded from one of the bishops' exclamation. "It's impossible! No matter how much we followed Ehito-sama's teaching, summoning heroes from two different realms almost exhausting us!"
The pope nodded sagely at their remark. Summoning a 'perfect' hero from another world actually was very difficult. The reason for that because there's a chance that that heroes will do anything they want, either fulfilling their lustful desires or slaughter everyone in their way. But the 'exact' hero with a great sense of justice is the most needed for their objective, mostly their God.
"That's right, summoning heroes from two different realms is exhausting. But you must know, this is an oracle from Ehito-sama with Noint-sama as his messenger. That's why, if you fulfill this task, Ehito-sama will be pleased with your effort." Ishtar preached at them. Then a dark smirk spouted from his face. "And if there're womens summoned too, when some of them deemed unfit for the war, you can have them as your sex slaves."
Hearing the word 'oracle' and 'sex slaves' have raised the bishops morals. And their morals will be raised again after the Pope preached them again.
"Then, instead of doing it for Tortus, all of you must do it for Ehito-sama. Everything must be doing it for Ehito-sama, and I'm sure that Ehito-sama will bless you all for fulfilling this task!"
The preaching from Ishtar proved effective, and they continued their chant to summon the heroes while Ishtar, already satisfied with his effort, walked far away from the bishops and the soon-to-be summoned heroes for giving the heroes a welcome after being summoned.
The magic circle formed under the bishops, but not as wide as the encircled bishops. The magic circle started to glowing, until a bright light surrounded it, and they knew that the summoning ritual has success.
When the bright light faded, a lot of heroes have been summoned, which they assumed and much to their delight in a young age between 13 and 18 years old. Most of them have the same outfits they didn't have the knowledge about, but has a difference between the boys and girls with the former wearing pants and the girls wearing skirt. Between them there're two persons with different clothing than them.
One of them is a very short girl, the shortest one than the summoned heroes. From her clothing, they assumed that she's a businesswoman in a very young age. But the other one, which they assumed as a girl, made Ishtar and the bishops baffled.
What kind of ridiculous outfit she's wearing!? They thought.
The girl wearing a black outfit covered her whole body with black ribbon, except her face and some of her hair strands. Her hood has some sort of beast face with small ears. In her hands there were puppet-gloves with the same unknown beast designs, but in a very cute way. The right glove has the same color as her outfit with blue ribbon and the left glove has white color and red ribbon. And as for her shoes, she wore black beast-like paw shoes for her right foot and the same for her left foot, except it's white.
The bishops heard some summoned heroes snickered at the girl in ridiculous outfit. They didn't know the reason for the other heroes snickered at her, and they saw her has an annoyed expression on her face, different from the other heroes which have a surprised expression. Other than that, the bishops have one thought in their mind regarding the girl.
Is she the strongest warrior we summoned with the heroes!? They thought.
Ishtar also baffled at the girl in ridiculous outfit, but also thought that his God decided to choose her for his death game because she's amusing and ridiculous at the same, in which he agreed with his God choice for the strongest warrior from the different realm than the heroes.
At first, he thought that the girl is a demi-human like those who lives in the Sea of Trees. But after further inspections from her face and visible ears from far away, he realized that the girl is a human like the summoned heroes.
Then he walked to the heroes and the girl and welcomed them.
"Welcome to our world, Tortus, brave hero and his companions… and whatever you are." Ishtar knew that the last sentence he said annoyed the girl in ridiculous outfit the most, but he still continues to welcome them. "I am called Ishtar Langbard, the Pope of the Holy Church. It's a pleasure to meet you all." Ishtar said with a grandfatherly smile on his face.
The Pope knew that the girl stared at him with neutral expressions on her face. But he knew that behind that expression, she has great suspicions on him. With those suspicions, he knew that she will be very hard to be manipulated and will be the biggest threat for Ehito. He even wished that no one of the summoned heroes become the biggest threat like her for his God.
"Please follow me. I'll explain everything you need." After Ishtar said that, the summoned heroes and the girl don't have a choice but comply and followed him. With amusement, the Pope thought about the girl.
I hope you can amuse Ehito-sama in his death game, little girl in ridiculous outfit.
