Chapter Text

Baal the ever-lonely archon that lives for the sole purpose of finding eternity, stands menacingly amongst her Shogunate. Although her appearance greatly contrasted to what have been describe in tales that is passed down generation to generation; large horn resembling those of devils that finds pleasures in killing, wide mouth accommodating pointy teeth unlike a normal human would have and pairs of wing that are both beautiful and dreadful whenever gazes are laid upon them, nonetheless the archon that stood before them still serves as a graved reminder that they are nothing but pitiful mere mortals. Nothing except…. The figure clad in white robe that is lying on the ground in her own pool of blood

“Sara….” Contradicting to the omnipotent aura she’s emitting; she spoke the name so softly as if it was the dearest thing to her.

Kujou Sara, the adopted daughter of the Kujou clan, general of the Shogunate, right hand man and the secret accomplice of the Shogun has never failed in her duty. Even when heavy injuries are afflicted upon her, she will do whatever it takes to make sure the vision hunt decree execute to its perfection. She truly believes and will never question in the choices right of her excellency
Other people have always been simply too blinded to see the orders given by the Shogun, because to Sara, those people are foolish and selfish for wanting to claim back what’s never meant to be theirs to begin with. Vision are gifted by the gods to those who possessed the highest credibility of them all and what god bestowed upon them, surely they have all the means and right to take it back.

“Shogun…” the weight of the electro vision hanging on her side serves as a reminder of her most royal duty to her Shogun
“I will make sure your ideals will be heard by these foolish people, until then please watch over us” she silently murmured to herself in amidst of the fight

Sara knows that her excellency always does things for the best of Inazuma in mind, but when something simple cannot be done through the simple way then force need to be implemented instead. Thus, the war occurs.
When talking about feeling hopeless, being helpless, seeking for the non-existence help, Sara would understand it the most. To be trampled and look down by those so-called vision bearer and nobles that would not even spare any glances in her ways just because of her status as an orphan from the Tenguu clan, Sara understands it the most.

So, when the Electro Archon, the Raiden Shogun, the goddess herself extend the helping hand she has been longing for, Sara swore an oath to herself that no matter what she will protect her excellency and gives Shogun whatever she seek of this mortal realm. Even if it costs her own life.
Because of that, when she saw the geo archer of the Sangonomiya resistance aimed their arrows towards her Shogun’s heart, she could not bear to just stand and witness it all, although she knew such a simple, pitiful arrow would never do as much as injuring the archon.

“Shogun!!” Instead, she leapt from her position towards her excellency, extending her arms taking the full blunt force of the arrow imbued with the geo element.
“Kuh…huk…!” The arrows struck her directly at her side and immediately blood starts to seep through her white garment and spilling out form her mouth. Seems like a non-fatal shot, at least that’s what Sara thought. However, due to the geo resonance nature it is worser than it’s supposed to be

“Sho…gun…get..t-to…safe-" before she could finish her body collapsed face front from the gruesome aftershock of the blow. She could feel herself becomes very disoriented. To say that she is in pain would be an overstatement as all she could feel was numbness. She started to lose her bearing while questioning her whereabout. Nothing seems to stand still, everything is getting darker and breathing seems to be such an impossible task at the moment.
“Haa…haa…haa………” she panted, feeling that more air are excreted than she could inhale
‘I..can’t fall…yet…the-' her trains of thoughts was interrupted when a pair of hands encircling her waist gently, propping her up so that she was lying on her back. At this point, Sara could feel her body screams at her to take nap, to rest, to sleep, to do anything but stays awake. But how could she do so? Not when those oh so beautiful lilac eyes cast their gazes upon her. Nothing matters except for the Almighty Shogun.

“S-sh-sho…g-gun…” the Shogun stared at Sara silently as if she was accessing the wound of her most reliable general
“I’m s-sor…ry…” Sara spits out. She has made big inconvenience to the Electro archon and wish to apologize for the matter however speaking just hurts so darn bad with all the blood clogging up her throat
“Hush now my general…my dearest Sara” Baal let out a heavy sighed. “I never ask you to protect me and yet here you are dying in your own foolishness. You should have known what I am capable of.” She gently stroke few strands of hair from her general blood smeared face, not minding the blood tainting her pale hand the slightest. As Baal stares at Sara she realizes how different Sara is from the other mortals. An exceptional, to which can either be an obstacle or a blessing itself.

“Honestly, you have always been reckless” Baal huffed out clearly agitated at the fact.
“I’m…so- “
“Shush I say… You have done nothing worthy to be apologize for” she caressed her general lovingly, full of affection. “Do not apologize for who you are.”
Sara could only nod as she feel herself slipping away with every moment pass by. Indeed, a mortal life is so fragile that something as harmless as time could easily sap their lives away.
“Never do this again Sara, as you will be the one to stand beside me…for eternity. And…” Baal bend down and gave Sara a small peck on her lips. It was so light that Sara barely had enough time to register what had happened and yet she could still feel the warm tingle sensation on her lips
“You are my most precious person ever.”
