Chapter Text

When her hand moves over the canvas it's almost like her mind was directing her hand without her, odd perhaps, but that was the way it was. Maddison's hand moved instinctively to the right spot, building a new picture, often one she had never seen before. In these fantastical worlds, she saw reflections of her own mind, the way she thought, but there was something else there too. She didn't know what, perhaps she just imagined it, but when she painted, it gave her peace she couldn't find anywhere else.

Too bad it was interrupted by a voice coming over the speaker. "It's a stupendous Saturday in Angel Grove. And a big hello goes out to Ernie and the kids at Angel Grove Youth Center Gym and Juice Bar. Keep those fruit shakes flowing, Ernie."

Maddie glanced around the gym, her eyes finding her friends scattered doing their own thing. This was how it was every Saturday. Meeting at the gym, hanging out for hours, drinking smoothies, a typical Saturday for the six of them.

Kimberly was on the balance beam, doing some routine. She moved with such grace, that Maddie envied her each time she practiced. All she knew was if she tried to do anything on the beam, she would end up with several broken bones. She was probably the clumsiest person in the world.

Trini was doing yoga close to Maddie. Slow and Steady, she took in a deep breath, releasing stress. Maddie knew Trini went to yoga when she was getting anxiety. Same reason, Maddie painted when her anxiety levels sky rocketed.

A couple of shouts drew her attention to the two boys fighting on her left.

Zack and Jason were practicing karate on the mat, one kicking while the other would dodge the kick. Jason jumped over Zack as he dropped to the floor. Their moves were as graceful as Kim's were. It seemed like a fair fight until Jason caught Zack's arm and hit him softly in the ribs, both stopping to take a breath.

Once they rested, maybe a minute, the boys were back at it. Maddie watched as Zack kicked Jason, only for him to grab his foot and flipped him over. Zack handed on his feet, twisted and went back to watch for Jason's attack.

Jason smiled and said, "Nice recovery, Zack."

"Thanks for teaching me, Jason." Zack shook Jason's hand before clapped his bicep.

"No problem, man." Jason said.

Maddison smiled at her friends. It took a long time for Zack to become close friends with Jason. Zack looked up to Jason. Now, you would never know that they weren't always close.

"That was awesome, Kimberly." Trini went up and wrapped Kim in a hug after she flipped off the balance beam.

"Thanks, Trini." Kim said as she and Trini walked over to Maddie.

"Hey, Maddie." They both hugged the brunette.

"Hey guys." Maddie smiled up at them. "You both looked awesome."

"Thanks, Maddie." Kim said. "How's your painting coming along? It looks great so far."

Trini nodded.

"Thanks, guys. It's coming along. Mrs. Herrington told me I had a couple weeks to finish it before I needed to turn it in." Maddie dipped her brush into the blue paint before mixing it with the white.

"Oh, no. Look who's here."

Maddie looked up at who Trini was talking about. She immediately rolled her eyes as Kimberly answered. "Bulk and Skull."

"Hi, girls. How about that double date we talked about?" Bulk asked.

"Yeah." Skull laughed. "What about it?"

Maddie turned from her painting to the annoying boys. "Sorry, guys. But who would want to go out with you two?"

Skull walked to Maddie, leaning over her trying to imitate her. "We weren't talking to you, were we freak?"

Maddie turned her attention back to her painting. She tried to hide the hurt that came from the bullying. Bulk and Skull tried to make her life awful and painful since they met her. She wished that she had the strength to stand up against them.

"What's the matter? We're not good enough for you?" Bulk asked Trini and Kimberly. He completely ignored Maddie, though she didn't mind one bit.

"Leave us alone, Bulk." Trini told him.

"Oh, yeah? Make me." Bulk said with Skull echoing what he said.

Skull smirked. "Yeah. Make me." His smirk leaves his face, but nerves set in. "Him. Make him." Skull pointed to Bulk who looked at him in confusion.

Maddie heard the nervousness in Skull's voice. From the corner of her eye, she saw Zack making his way toward them. A smirk formed on her face. No wonder Skull was getting nervous. Typical. Acting like the big man on campus and then when another boy looks at them or walks toward them, they act like frightened kittens.

"Hey, you heard what she said." Zack wrapped his arms around Trini and Kim, giving Maddie a wink.

Maddie smiled, putting her paintbrush down, it was obvious she wasn't going to get back to painting anytime soon. She watched Bulk and Skull made a fool out of themselves, which tends to happen everyday.

"Oh, what do you know? The dancer wants to be a fighter." Bulk tried to sound tough. It wasn't working due to the looks the four were giving each other.

"It's okay, Zack. We can handle these two." Kim said, putting a hand up to stop him before turning back towards the annoying boys.

"Oh, really? - Let's show 'em some karate move, Skull." Bulk went to make a move. Skull copied him. "Hyah!" The boys advanced toward the girls.

Maddie stepped out of the way, dragging her painting before it could be messed up. What in the world were they doing?

She watched Kim and Trini flip both boys onto their backs. "Whoa! Oh!" Bulk and Skull landed hard on the mat, with their classmates laughing at them.

"You guys should definitely join Jason's karate class." Kim laughed, putting an emphasis on definitely.

Zack blew a kiss at the boys, before putting his arm around Maddie as the group headed towards the other room, where Jason was about to start his class.

---

The girls made their way to a table while Jason began his class. Maddie smiled as their friend, Billy tried to copy what Jason was demonstrating. He seemed to be struggling a bit. Poor Billy. Maddie knew he wanted to do the best he could. He was doing better than most to be honest.

"And one ,two, block, three, punch, four and continue." Jason showed his class the moves. Turning around to watch them, he noticed Billy struggling. He made his way toward his friend "Billy, try this." Jason demonstrated another set of moves.

Billy tried his best to follow, but gave up. "I'm just not good at this." He shook his head in shame.

Maddie frowned at the boy. She hated that he gave up so easily.

"Billy, don't worry.I mean, even I was a beginner once." Jason clapped Billy's shoulder making his way in front of the class. "All right, class, what is it that Martial Arts helps us to develop?" He looked around the room as a couple of student raised their hands including Billy. "Billy?"

"Courage, kindness, integrity, fitness, loyalty, and discipline" Billy recited.

Maddie smiled at the proudness on Billy's face. One of many great things about Billy was that he was very smart, and could remember just about anything after hearing it once. A trait that Maddie was quite jealous about.

"That's good. You memorized that very quickly." Jason smiled.

"Of course, he did." Maddie whispered to herself. Proud of her friend. She heard Trini and Kimberly agree with her,

"Hey!" Bulk pushed through the crowd, knocking one of the students out of his way. "Geek!" He pushed Billy to the left, laughing. "Teach us how to beat people up." He stood right next to Jason.

"Yeah!" Skull commented before doing weird noise and movements. Bulk grabbed the boy by his shirt throwing him toward Billy.

Maddie caught Jason's eyes, both trying to hide their smiles and laughs.

"Martial Arts was not developed to hurt others." Jason was interrupted by Bulk.

"We did not sign up for a geeky karate class."

Jason took a deep breath, "OK, Bulk. Maybe you're ready for some more advanced training techniques."

Was he serious? Maddie wanted to question him.

"Oh. Okay." Bulk cracked his knuckles.

"Try this." Jason did a side kick. "Side kick."

Bulk snorted. "Anything you can do, I can do better, baby." He moved his arms. "Waaaeeeyah!" Bulk did a side kick. Not bad for a newbie. Though the only one clapping was Skull.

Jason smirked, "Tornado kick." He twisted while doing a kick in the air.

Maddie grinned at the smirk on Jason's face. She knew Bulk would have a difficult time with this certain kick. She caught Jason's eye as he winked at her. He knew it too.

"Waaaeeeyah!" Bulk twisted but ended up falling on his face. "Ooh!"

The entire class and students watching laughed at Bulk laying on the ground in fake pain. Skull once more was the only one clapping.

Kimberly and Trini left to find Billy with Zack as the blond left after Bulk fell on his face.

"Class dismissed." Jason made his way toward Maddie.

"Well that was interesting." Maddie commented.

Jason smiled at her. "Tell me about it."

Maddie shook her head as the two made their way out of the room. "Go change. You stink."

Jason grabbed Maddie by the arms, pulling her into a hug as she protested.

"Jason. Stop." She laughed. "Go. I bet another country can smell you."

Jason kissed the girl's forehead before heading to change clothes.

---

After the guy had changed from the karate class, the six teenagers sat around the table waiting on their drinks.

"Billy, I'm telling you, for your first lesson, you did really well." Jason sat down next to Billy.

"I did?" Billy questioned. He glanced around asking the others as well.

"Yeah. We were watching you." Kimberly smiled at him.

"I don't know if I've got what it takes." Billy smiled sadly.

"It's all a state of mind, Billy. You don't need to be strong for Martial Arts." Maddie said.

"I agree with Maddie." Trini nodded.

"Yeah, man, it's all up here." Zack pointed to his head.

"Hey, guys." Ernie brought over their milkshakes.

"Hey, Ernie" Trini said as everyone made room for their drinks. With all six of them it was a tight squeeze.

"Who ordered the spinach juice?" Everyone started to point towards Maddie.

Everything started to shake. Ernie yelled. "Oh, no! It's an earthquake! Everybody stay calm!" He turned around only to dump the drinks on Bulk. "Sorry, Bulk." Ernie was out the door.

Everyone started to scream and run out of buildings across the city.

"Oh, man, must be the big one." Zack stood up with his friends.

"Oh! Something tells me this is no earthquake." Maddie grabbed onto the table trying to keep her steady. The group looking around as wall decorations fell onto the floor below. Tables were turned over, drinks spilled over the floor, everything was still shaking.

"Oh, my gosh! What's happening?" Kim yelled.

Maddie felt her hands starting to tingle, as it went up her arm. Her vision started to blur.

"This is too weird." Trini commented. It seemed like the others were experiencing the same thing as Maddie.

"Hold on!" Jason said.

Maddie grabbed onto the pole beside her as she felt herself swirled as the color purple surrounded her. Somehow she ended up somewhere else with her friends beside her.

There were computers all over the place. A dashboard in front of them with different color buttons scattered on it. Gold tubes stood around the board with lights flickering in circles going up and down the poles.

"Whoa! Isn't exactly the mall, is it?" Kim said.

The teenagers looked around. Lights flashing everywhere. Maddie could feel a migraine coming on. Too many brights lights, though a large globe stood in the middle caught her attention and she stepped toward it. Jason stopped her with a hand on her shoulder.

"This place is magnificent." Billy said. He was like a kid in a candy shop. He stepped into the area with the computers as the others followed.

Maddie didn't know where to look. Everything seemed to call out to her.

"I don't get it." Jason was the last one to enter the circle. "How'd we end up here?" He asked.

"I just wanna know where here is." Maddie looked at the control board in front of her. There were so many buttons. She wondered what each one did.

"Well, maybe the answer's in these controls." Billy pushed some buttons.

"No! No, don't touch that! Who-whoa!"

The teenagers turned around to see a robot fall onto the ground.

"Whoa. A fully sentient, multifunctional automation." Billy was amazed at what was in front of him. He helped the robot up."Never seen anything like it. Whoa."

"Welcome, humans" A face appeared in the glowing tube.

"Uh-oh." Kim was speechless.

Maddie blinked her eyes several times, trying to figure out if this was real. "Are you seeing this?" She asked Trini, who just nodded.

"So who are you?" Jason stood in front of his friend, crossing his arms.

"Like, what are you?" Maddie came up beside him.

"I am Zordon, an interdimensional being caught in a time warp." Zordon said.

"And my name is Alpha-5." Alpha-5 said.

"Excuse me, but will, like, somebody come back to earth and pick me up?" Kimberly looked at the others. "Because I am totally confused."

"It's quite simple, my dear. This planet is under attack, and I have brought you here to save it." Zordon told Kimberly.

"Oh, Yeah. Right." Zack laughed

"Ah. A nonbeliever. Look behind you at the Viewing Globe."

The teenagers turned towards the globe. Maddie grinned, she had been wondering what it was.

"Your doubts will be answered in the images you see." Zordon told the group.

The globe flickered a couple times before showing a gray-haired woman with what looked like brown wraps in her hair to make it look like horns. Beside her was a gold and green monster with wings flying.

"This is Rita Repulsa, an intergalactic sorceress who is bent on controlling the universe." Zordon informed the group. "With her henchmen and Putty Patrollers, she plans to conquer Earth." The globe showed several putty patrollers walking and rolling on grass.

"What does all of this have to do with us?" Trini looked back at Zordon.

"You've been chosen to form an elite team to battle Rita. Each of you will be given access to extraordinary powers drawn from the ancient creatures you call dinosaurs." Zordon answered.

"Dinosaurs?" Kimberly shook her head in disbelief.

"What in the world?" Maddie glanced down as a strange item appeared on her belt. She glanced at her friends to see they had them too, but in different colors.

"Behold, the key to your power." Zordon's voice echoed in the room.

"Whoa. What are these?" Zack held the things that just appeared around their waist.

"Those are your Power Morphins." Zordon explained to the teenagers. "When in danger, raise them to the sky calling the name of your dinosaur, and you will morph into a fighting force known to one and all as the Power Rangers."

"Morph?" Kimberly asked.

"Metamorphosis." Billy said.

"That means to change." Maddie told Kimberly.

"As Power Rangers, You will have access to a universe of power and will command a fleet of fighting force machines called Zords." Zordon continued.

"I don't get it." Trini shook her head.

Zordon looked down at the group. "Jason, bold and powerful, you shall command the Tyrannosaurus Dinozord."

Jason morphed into the red ranger.

"Zachary, you are clever and brave. You shall command the Mastodon Dinozord."

Zack turned into the black ranger.

"Kimberly, graceful and small, the Pterodactyl Dinozord shall be yours."

Kimberly morphed into the pink ranger.

"Billy, patient and wise, you shall command the powerful Triceratops Dinozord."

Billy formed into the blue ranger.

"Trini, fearless and agile, the Saber-Tooth Tiger Dinozord - will be under your command."

Trini morphed into the yellow ranger.

"And lastly, Maddison, courageous and loyal, the Hatzegopteryx Dinozord shall be yours."

Maddie became the purple ranger.

"Observe the Viewing Globe." The teenager turned their attention back to the globe.

"Just as the six of you work together, so do your zords." Zordon explained. "When you need help, you need only to turn to the Power of the Dinozords, which will come together to form the Mighty Megazord."

"What?" Maddie asked. The group looked confused at each other. They were trying to figure out if all of this was true.

"Power Morphers? Megazords?" Zack couldn't wrap his head around this. "Uh-uh. This is just too weird for me. I'll tell you what." He pointed his fingers at Zordon "It's been real, but I gotta go."

"Yeah. See ya." Kimberly followed Zack in leaving. Billy and Trini behind them.

Zack turned back around to see Jason and Maddie still standing in the same place. "Y'all coming? Jason? Maddie?"

"What?" Jason replied but his eyes never left Zordon's.

Zack called out. "Let's go, man. Maddie?"

"Yeah." Maddie replied. She glanced at Jason, wondering what his move was going to be. He looked down at her, with the same question in his eyes for her. Maddie would always follow what Jason did. The same for the others.

"Very well, then." Zordon watched the teenager leave. "Let the Power protect you."

"Well, now that didn't go very well, did it? Ay yi yi." Maddie heard Alpha said as they walked outside.

All they could see was tan rocks and sand everywhere. The town was not in sight. As heat rose within the group, Maddie wiped the sweat that formed on her forehead away.

"Great. He could've sent us back into town." Kimberly complained.

Maddie rolled her eyes. When she was tired, it seemed to her that Kimberly got on her nerves with complaints. It was used to it, but at this moment all she wanted to do was get home.

Maddie and Jason lead that group down the mountain, trying to find anything that looked familiar.

"Where are we?" Maddie glanced around the area. Nothing in sight. Just rocks and sand. Basically a desert.

"I have no idea." Jason mumbled. "Guys, we shouldn't have left." He stopped the group, a moment. "I mean, he chose us to save the world. I say we do it."

"Do you really think we can?" Trini asked.

"Hey, guys." Billy started. "I mean, you don't even know what you're talking about. We were talking to a giant floating head."

Not long after Billy finished his comment, an explosion happened.

To the sound of the explosion came the terrible echo as if it were the anguished cry from someone above.

Everybody down!" Jason pulled Maddie down with him.

"What was that?" Maddie asked.

Putties appeared out of nowhere surrounding the teens. Maddie backed up against a rock, eying the putties in front of her.

"Hey." The nervousness was evident in Billy's voice. That didn't help the others.

Zack caught several Putties headed straight for Kimberly. "Look out!" He warned her.

It was too late when a couple of them grabbed her from behind. "Let go of me!" She twisted and turned, trying to get out of their hold.

"Zack!" Jason called over to the boy. The look said that he was ready to fight. Jason trusted him to win. They had practice enough, now it was time to put it to use.

"Right" Zack nodded back. "These two are mine" He pointed at two of the Putties standing in his sight. He grinned as he moved closer. As he did the Putties backed up, ready for his attack.

"I call this one." Maddie pointing to the one in front of her. In that frozen second between standoff and fighting Maddie saw Putty look from her to Jason. Their faces were unreadable, no fear, no invitational smirk. She was banking on it making a mistake she predicted it would. As if she was correct, the Putty moved to the left allowing her to attack from the right.

Zack used his dance moves on them, if Maddie had a free moment she would have laughed, but she didn't.

Beside her, Jason kicked one in the chest. Using his strength to send it crashing into another one.

Maddie grabbed one with her arm, throwing it into the rocks as it grabbed its chest.

Trini blocked a couple of attacks from one. "Hi-Hi-Ya." Hitting the Putty in the chest. Using her knowledge from yoga, she let the peace flow through her as she fought with grace.

One Putty jumped down near Billy. He looked terrified at the thing in front of him. Freezing up since he didn't know what to do at that moment. "Wait." Billy took his glasses off, putting them in the pocket of his overalls. Another Putty came behind him and wrapped his arms around Billy's chest.

Kimberly did a backflip, kicking a Putty in the back as well as another one. "Ha!" she shouted. Years of gymnastics helping her in this fight.

Zack advances toward one, kicking it in the chest. It dropped to the ground in pain. If they even felt the pain.

Billy used the best of his abilities to hit one in the chest, but it seemed to just anger it more. As another one came grabbing his foot, and throwing him into the ground. Billy let out a grunt of pain.

The two Putties that were fighting Kimberly, threw her over to where Billy was "Whoa!" she screamed. Billy grabbed her from hurting herself anymore.

One grabbed Zack under his armpits and put him in the air. He kicked a second only for the two putties to throw him to where two of his friends were. "Whoa!" he said.

Three down. Three to go.

Trini was still fighting her putty. "Hy! Hy!" One grabbed her arm, knocking her over, causing her to roll over to the others. "Whoa!" said yelled.

Maddie was grabbed by the arms by two of them, as she tried to get loose by kicking one. Only for the other to punch her in the chest and then her jaw before throwing her towards the others. "Ah!" She clinched her chest in pain.

Two Putties grabbed Jason by the arms and he tried to kick the third one in front of him. But he ended up right by his friends.

The group watched as the Putties surrounded them.

"This day is too weird." Kimberly's voice was on the edge.

"What do we do now?" Trini turned to look at Zack.

"Zordon said these power morphers would give us power." Jason pulled his morphers from his belt, looking at the others. "Let's do it."

The group stood up, calling out to their dinosaurs.

"Hatzegopteryx!" Maddie yelled. Her vision blurred into purple. As she became the purple ranger.

"Mastodon!" shouted Zack. Black surrounded him as he morphed into the black ranger.

"Pterodactyl!" Kimberly bellowed. She became the pink ranger, as her vision blurred around the color pink.

"Triceratops!" Billy shouted. Blue swirled formed around him, making him the blue ranger.

"Saber-tooth Tiger!" Trini shouted. Yellow lightning dancing around her, morphing her into the yellow ranger.

"Tyrannosaurus!" Jason shouted. Red blurred around him, as he became the red ranger.

The teenager called out as one. "Power Rangers!" They each did a fighting stance.

Maddie felt she was being torn apart as her vision blurred once more. They were being teleported once more.

"We're teleporting again." Billy said.

"Where are we going?" Maddie asked.

"We're gonna save the world." Jason said as the group teleported.

They arrived at their destination. "All right, let's do it." Jason called out as the rangers appeared on top of a building.

"Hi-ya!" they all shouted.

Goldar, along with several more Putties dropped in front of the rangers ready to attack. "Get them!" he shouted.

Maddie hoped this time it would be better than last. Her ribs still ached after round one. She just wanted to go home and sleep after this.

Jason pushed a Putty away before dodging another one's attack.

Zack kicked one in the chest and hit him in the back with his elbows. Using what Jason taught him earlier that day.

Billy blocked an attack from one, then elbowed it in the chest. He turned around attacking at the second one behind him, before kicking the legs out from the third one. Taking a break for just a second, he smiled. He was improved more by the second. All of them were.

Sophie punched one in the face, but was stopped by another. A sudden gush of pain jolted throughout her body. Her stomach ached, her arms lost tension and her legs began to weaken. "They will not get the better of me," she thought as she dropped to the ground. Her tongue was soaked in the taste of blood. Bruised and winded, with a leg in agony, she grabbed the foot of the putty and pulled it to the ground. Her head was pounding as she brought a fist to its face, causing it to stumble.

Kimberly kicked a putty, before doing a backflip then while hitting one. As if her training kicked in, she did a front flip finishing off the third putty.

Trini jumped, pulling a putty down. She tackled a second and back jumped to a higher place on the building out of the danger zone.

"Is that it?" Maddie asked.

Goldar appeared once more but was several buildings tall.

"You just had to say that?" Zack looked at Maddie.

She shrugged, acting innocent. "Sorry."

"Look at him, that dude is huge!" Jason said.

Goldar tried to stomp on them.

"Back off fang face!" Jason shouted at the monster.

"The good guys are here!" Zack said.

"Get off our planet!" Billy yelled.

"Cause we're the Power Rangers!" Trini shouted.

"Protecting people from those like you." Kimberly said.

"And we're not backing down." Maddie finished.

Goldar aimed his sword at the rangers.

"Dinosaur power!" Jason yelled.

Zords appeared from their hiding places. The ranger stared in awe as their Zords came into view.

"Yes, all right!" Jason jumped into his Zord. "Log on!" He called from inside his Zord.

The team got into their own Zords, ready to rock and roll.

"Let's do it." Zack and Billy jumped into their Zords.

"Going up?" Trini and Kimberly made their way into theirs.

"Let's go." Maddie jumped into her Zord. Smiling as she looked around. This was so cool, she thought.

Once the others were inside they activated their own Zords.

"Zack here, this is kicking!" Zack called over the radio.

"This is Billy-All system's go!" Billy's voice echoed through Maddie's Zord. As the others followed.

"Trini here, ready to rock!"

"Hey, nice stereo."

"Maddie, online and ready to go!" Maddie yelled into the radio.

"Megazord power on!" Jason said.

The Zords formed into the Megazord, rolling through the hills, heading right for Goldar.

"Trini here, this is amazing." Trini said. "I seem to know how to drive this thing."

"Affirmative, I do too." Billy said. "It's almost like second nature to me."

"Same here, guys!" Maddie's fitted on each side of Zack's which formed the arms.

They were soon in the cockpit of the Megazord. Jason in the middle, Zack on Jason's left with Kimberly behind him. Maddie on Jason's right with Trini behind her. Billy was right behind Jason.

"All right guys, let's go get him!" Jason told the team.

"Right!" they said in unison.

Goldar blasted the Megazord causing them all to groan and moan.

"You and your weapons are no match for me." Goldar told them.

"All right guys, let's see what this baby can do!" Jason got ready to fire at Goldar.

"You said it, Jason!" Maddie agreed with him as the red ranger fired at Goldar, striking him.

"Yeah!" Jason shouted. "Zap him again!"

Goldar fell to the ground.

"All right." Jason cheered with the others, believing that it was over.

Goldar stood back up, ready to attack once more.

"Let's send this guy back where he came from." Jason led the team on the attack.

"Right!" Everyone agreed.

"All right guys, let's power up." Jason yelled. "Activating Megazord battle mode." He pressed a button on either side of him.

"Megazord sequence has been initiated." A voice said from the computer as it changed into the Megazord.

"Megazord activated." the voice said as the Megazord was formed.

Goldar jumped closer, hitting his sword on the area where the rangers were.

The megazord fought back, but it seemed like nothing was working.

"Jason!" Billy said. "That blunt didn't even phase him."

"Man." Jason was annoyed that Goldar just got back up. "He's coming at us!"

Goldar charged in, aiming for the chest area of the Megazord.

"Oh no," Sophie whispered. Goldar hit them in the chest, causing them all to groan again.

"Hang on!" Jason said as the others hissed in pain.

Goldar aimed his sword at the Zord.

"Look out!" Jason said as the Megazord and Goldar fought on. Nothing was finishing the monster.

"You fools are finished!" Goldar yelled.

"Power Sword!" Jason called out.

A sword came out of the sky and landed near the Megazord.

The Megazord went over to pick it up and held it in it's right hand.

Goldar stumbled a bit. "Ah, this isn't over. I'll be back." before disappearing.

The team cheered as the coward left.

"We did it." Billy laughed.

---

The Rangers made their way back to the command center, talking over each other about what happened.

"It was amazing, right?" Billy asked the group.

"It sure was." Maddie answered, a smile on her face.

"I can't believe it." said Kimberly.

"Congratulations on a job well done." Zordon said as they turned to look at him. "Now that you have become Power Rangers you must follow three basic rules or lose the protection of the power, First...never use your power for personal gain; second, never escalate a battle unless Rita forces you; and finally, keep your identity secret. No one may know you are a Power Ranger."

"Oh, wait a second." Zack stepped forward in front of the others.

"Yes, Zachery, what is it?" Zordon asked. He tried not to smile at the boy, knowing what he was going to say.

"I'm not sure we're all up to this." Zack said "I mean we were pretty lucky this time."

Maddie nodded. Was she up for this? Were they all able to do this? She knew Rita would send more dangerous monsters but did they have the power to win every battle?

"Luck had nothing to do with it." Zordon said. "The six of you have come together to make a finer group of superheroes as there has ever been.

"No way." Kimberly said. "Really?"

"You've been through an extraordinary experience together." Zordon said. "You need each other now and the world needs you.

"Yeah, all right." Jason said. "I'm in."

"Me, too." Zack jumped in.

"You can count on me." Trini smiled.

"Affirmative." Billy held his thumb up.

"I don't know, you guys." Kimberly said, causing the group to turn to her. "I mean the outfits are cool and everything but my hair gets all tangled up inside the helmet. I don't think I can do it."

The rangers started to talk over each other once more. But not watching or paying attention to the purple ranger.

Maddie could hear Kimberly joking with them, but didn't really pay attention to them. She turned her attention to Zordon who was watching her. If she wasn't worried about her failing her friends and all, she would have seen the concern in his eyes.

She got hurt the most today, thought she didn't show it. What if she wasn't strong enough? Would she fail them like she did with her family?

"Maddison?" Zordon called out to the girl. She was too deep in her mind to heard the others call her name.

"Mads?" Jason broke her concentration.

"Jase." Maddie started but couldn't finish. What was she supposed to tell them? Would they trust her?"

"What's wrong, Mads?" Jason asked softly. They were the closest out of the group.

Maddie bit her lip. "What if I can't do this? What if I'm not strong enough?"

"You are the strongest person I know, Maddie. We need you on the team." Jason said, as the other nodded and agreed.
