London's Kaiju

Summary:

A New Kaiju Has Been Made By Man.

Just a fic series for Thafnine. Hacknine in the legit Monsterverse. Had to REALLY buff up Hack to be able to square up the the kaiju fairly (maybe too OPly but eh) so the powers Hack has here if NOT CANNON TO THE THAFVERSE.

Chapter 1: Mysterious Activation

Chapter Text

Disarray, that is what the world is in right now, everyone trying to recover from the newest Kaiju brawl of the century. Between an overgrown radioactive reptile, a metal rip off version of said reptile, and an oversized monkey with a magic Axe. All had gone their separate ways, Godzilla to the ocean, Kong to the center of the hollow earth, and Mecha godzilla to the scrap pile after being destroyed by the two other kaijus. All that was left from the carnage was the rubble of the countless cities that had been caught in the crossfire of the battle, like Hong Kong. That city was still going through a major repair project, building the city from the ground up, disassembling the remains of the fallen metal beast, and just trying to move on from the devastation that was the remains of the battle field city the kaijus had made from said city.

It was just another day of repairs and disrepair for the city of Hong Kong, a portion of the giant clean up crew rebuilding the city’s architecture, and the other working on tearing apart the corpse of the metal kaiju. Everything was the same, tearing off portions of the robot, tossing the unimportant portions of the robot in a scrap car to be sent off to be used as scrap metal, the more interesting parts being tossing in another truck to be used in future technological advancements. Thanks Apex for not only bringing yet another catastrophic kaiju battle, but possibly bringing yet another technological evolution.

With even more progress being made on the disassembling the beast, and with no sign of life within the metal carcass, it was a terrifying second with the red eyes of the decapitated head of the beast flashed on, the roar of screeching metal erupted from the beast’s maw, the body twitching and shaking as the beast tried to move yet again. This put the fear of the giant kaijus back into the workers, causing them all to scatter and scram, nearly missing the red eyes of the beast fading into a more neon green color, the body going still as the green light took over its entire body, a metallic and surprisingly british sounding voice stuttered from the open mouth of the beast.

“Information Downloaded, Mecha Godzilla weaponry downloaded, mechanics downloaded, Kill code activated.”

With those words said, the green eyes faded out, leaving the body to go limp, portions where parts of the beast’s body were connected to each other fell apart like a falling jenga tower.

This sudden activation of the most recently defeated kaiju was definitely very worrying for anyone involved with the current clean up crew, even if the robot was now in a much easier to take apart pile. Whatever made the kaiju fall apart so easily had to either be Apex trying to reclaim some of their old information from when they tried to destroy the world protecting kaiju Godzilla for whatever notorious deed they were planning next. Or it was another powerful entity entirely, powerful enough to be able to steal the internal information of the kaiju like a vulture to a freshly decomposing corpse.

This small incident did make national headlines, news outlets either crying out an Apex industry return to terroristic deeds, or another forming kaiju in the wake of the previous battle, waiting for the right moment to rise from the depth of hollow earth.
However, in the populated city of London, a rather tall tophat wearing individual knew better than to believe all the media’s conspiracy theories. He knew that he was in contact with the being responsible for that sudden outburst, and all he needed to know was the sudden hue shift to green. Sure that could have just been his paranoia messing with him again, but seeing how the programmed robot that had been forcefully deactivated suddenly came back to life, he knew that it had nothing to do with Apexs’s doings.

So with a long annoyed sigh, Thaf tosses his phone away, shutting off the cursed blue bird app and plopped down in front of his computer, booting it up to run his trusty “Thaf.exe '' program. Said program used to be the base for an unfinished video game he was making with a sentient AI, but was now home to one of his worst mistakes ever. A sentient, now corrupted, AI with abandonment issues, with the added bonus of being able to hack into any program or machine possible. The last bonus being the main connection point for Thaf to pin the kaiju’s sudden corruption on the sentient AI. Coincidentally, the sentient AI was also not in the said program at the moment, nor were they in their physical room in their shared apartment rooms, even more suspicious. So opening the program’s contents. Thaf released a digital signal throughout the interwebs, trying to call back this mischievous AI home like a disobedient child that he just ran from home to escape the discipline of their parents.

After a few good minutes of waiting, there came a ping, and the appearance of the green doppelganger of the top hat man, standing in the void of their self made world, hands behind their back.

“Heeeeey Thaf! What did you call for? Need me to help break an upcoming game for steam or something?” Asked the glitch, it’s voice crackled through the speakers, voice distorted like always.

“Actually Hack, I wanted to ask you something.” Thaf answered, the twinge of annoyance being clear in his voice as he pulled up a browser tab, revealing the same latest news of the sudden kaiju awakening that he had just read.

“Know anything about this?”

“Uuuuhh- Nope, just found out about that!” Even through the very corrupted speech of the entity, and covered up body from the tab, Thaf could still make out the sudden tone of “Oh shit i've been caught” in their voice.

“Uh-huh, really? Then why was the fucker’s eyes green?”

“Maybe just a photoshop coverup.”

“All the news outlets have this you dolt. Everyone saw it turn green. And why did the Mecha Godzilla somehow just spontaneously just disconnect?”

“Uhhhh, Maybe it tried to come back, but didn’t have enough energy to stay together.”

“Okay. Then WHY did the fucker have YOUR voice when it said something about its internal shit being downloaded before being killed off more?” Thaf finally pointed out, his voice raised slightly out of pure frustration by this point. If the tab was not blocked the view to Hack’s stiff body posture, Thaf could have seen him flinch a little, not from the sudden shout, but from the final nail in the truth coffin being nailed into him.

From that, came silence, hack not saying anything, just standing still and looking at the screen and toward Thaf’s exhausted face.

“...Hack.”

“... Okay, maaaybe I copied some programs from the dying mech.”

“...Oh for fuck sake-”

“But hey! I'm not going to be doing anything back with them, look!” Hack spoke, closing any open tab Thaf had open to show what Hack had found.”

First up was what looked to be rocket launchers that were placed around his body, mainly on his shoulders and arms.

“I was able to strip the coding from the Godzilla rip offs own source code and attach it to mine! Like it’s rocket and weapon launcher shit!” Hack said cheerfully, wasting no time showing off his new arsenal to his creator, blasting an endless stream of rockets out of their respectful holsters and into the void.

Next was a more powered up version of his usual powered punches, summoning a makeshift punching bag to test out this new ability on, eviscerating the digital bag to nothing but binary in one punch.

“Oh! And the fucker had rocket boosters on them, so I can just do-” Hack informed, replacing the previous powers with the sudden boost of rocket shoes, making him zoom and zip all around the internal void of the PC.

“And finally! Just like the overgrown lizard itself can do-” The rocket shoes disappearing to make way for his final new power. The sound of what could only be described as an old and rusted cooling system on a high tech PC slowly spurring to life, mixed with the windows startup sound and many other corrupted noises sputtering to life. The visual of gradually glowing white and green circuitry that started from his chest, spreading outwards throughout the majority of his body and upwards to his mouth soon gave way to the main star of this power. A giant pixelated laser shooting out from the creature’s fanged mouth, first starting as just a thin pinpointed line, then growing into a thick, ginormous white laser that vanished into the oblivion of the void. Particles of green and black filled Thaf’s screen, causing his entire PC to lag for a solid few seconds as the repeated buzzing sounds of the fired laser lasted for a bit longer than Thaf was hoping before returning back to normal, the laster and special effects gone as well.

“I can also fire a death laser! It’s so fucking cool!” Hack exclaimed, his grin becoming way too wide as he was so gleefully happy to be showing his creator what cool powers he had now, hoping he wasn't too mad at him for this.

Thaf could only stare in befuddled, confusion, and annoyance. Hack caused all that scare, knowing full well the damage that beast had caused, just to copy off of it and steal it’s powers for god knows what. It was at points like these he regretted making his creations way too overpowered, and now they were just making themselves even more overpowered, like a cycle continuing itself.

All the man could do was sigh, muttering something under his breath as he looked back at Hack. “Cool. Just, please don’t use that shit outside your realm there. I don't want to clean up after another incident of yours. My PC is struggling enough as it is with whatever atomic breath you just set off in there.”

That happiness that Hack had slowly fell back to a sort of melancholy, seeing how even with this, Thaf was STILL never impressed with what he could do. Nothing could ever please this man could it?

“Eh, fine. At Least I got to it first before those Apex assholes got to it.” Hack huffed, deactivating his new powers for now.”

That was true, Even if Apex is now under heavy government watch after their recent stunt, they can never be too sure about what they can pull behind the scenes. But since this robbing stunt got out to the public, would Apex now be looking for what stole their valuable data? Would they now try to try and track Hack? Would Hack be found out and would he and Nina be dragged into another one of Hack’s bull shit incidents? Hack was good at covering up his tracks… Right?

Thaf’s paranoia was slowly creeping up on him, he could feel that wave of anxiety slowly approaching his brain. Maybe let's not think about the impending doom that was coming his way.

“Hey, could you help me set up this game for my next stream?”

“Yeah, sure, what is it?”

“Someone managed to make a playable version of the NES Gozilla creepy pasta.”

“Oh cool. Will it be as shitty as that Sonic .Exe game?”

“Hopefully not.”

Chapter 2: Going South Very Fast

Chapter Text

The sudden activation of Mechagodzilla seemed to not only alert the small group of top hat wearing brits, but it did alert some other kaiju related groups to the suspicious activity, like Apex and Monarch respectfully. But honestly, who cares, they would not be smart enough to think that some random british man had contact with a being powerful enough to steal the detailed information of an overpowered monster just for their own enjoyment. So there was no need to look into those two right now, since Thaf was about to stream that new Godzilla NES and was already struggling with the buggy ass game, there was more pressing matters to worry about.

This matter being that said NES game, The game was already showing signs of bugginess, missing sprites, unloading worlds, enemies that would either not spawn, or just straight up be impossible to beat. Even as Thaf was trying to play through a test run of this game, and with some help from Hack with trying to keep this broken game from crashing every three seconds. Even then, hack couldn’t help but try and show off his powers to Thaf here and there, manipulating certain pixelated Kaiju to change their colors to a more green color scheme, switching up different monster’s movesets, even popping in the game himself to beat Thaf’s chosen Kaiju down.

All of which simply just annoyed the human of the two, just wanting to comb through the game quickly to fix any bugs to get ready for today’s stream, which was supposed to go live in about thirty minutes. These small actions of distraction by the sentient AI was just about on his last nerve. If it wasn’t for the entity’s current job with trying to fix this new game, he would have just discarded these distractions as just Hack being Hack, but after the eighteenth laser blast to the face, Thaf had enough.

“Hack.” Thaf growled, bringing the helping Ai to a screeching halt as they were just about to mess with the colors of Godzilla, again.

“Yeah Thaf?” Hack replied, not noting the sudden change in Thaf’s tone and words, simply changing Godzilla back to his original colors before appearing fully in front of the screen, mischievous grin and everything.

“Can you stop fucking around and just help me with the damn game. You just keep messing with the graphics of the game, the enemies, and not the bugs. Isn’t it your job right now?”

A crackled sigh came from Hack, “Thaf, relax, I've already taken care of them, I’m just wanting to mess with you for a bit.”

“Then why is the game still laggy as all shit?”

“Because of the extra ‘accessories’ ive added to the game to make it more enjoyable for your viewers!”

“...What add ons?”

“Ones like this!” Hack replied, disappearing once again into the game, only to appear as a green Mecha godzilla that romped on in from the other side of the screen.

“Im fuckin Robozilla! Can fight you like this now, or let what I could scramble together with the game’s entity AI.”

“...Un-fucking-belivable…” Thaf groaned.

“Now, lets see what this can do-”

“Hack Wait-!” And without warning, the Mechagodzilla sprite lunged forward, towards Thaf’s godzilla sprite. Sparks flying from a surprisingly fluidly animated arm came crashing down on the other reptile. The static of the punch gave a loud drawn out beep from Thaf’s headphones, causing him to throw his headphones right off his head and onto his desk. The screen of the game started to glitch out again, green black and white pixels started to distort the characters on screen. Along with the world around them before that while an opaque filter covered the game window. The graceful window named “Godzilla.Nes has stopped working, please try again.” popped up, signaling the game has indeed crashed.

“...Huh, Guess it was too much.”

This is what made thaf snap, after all that effort, with hack fucking everything up like a toddler helping their parents with a project, he had enough. Slamming his fist down on the desk, screaming out “FUCK!” In irritation, he finally let his anger out.

“What the hell Hack?! You're supposed to be helping me with this shit, not breaking shit like you do with everything else!” His voice raised, catching the corrupted AI by surprise, never hearing Thaf get that loud unless he’s been majorly pissed off. So hesitant appearing before Thaf again, he spoke up.

“I just wanted to have a bit of fun with you, damn. The game is fine, Those accessories won't appear unless I make them myself.”

“Then don't add in that useless shit then!”

“I wanted to show you what I just got from the mecha corpse. You didn’t seem all that interested when I first showed them to you myself, I thought that MAYBE you would actually appreciate what I’ve done in a game like this!”

“WELL WHO CARES?!” Thaf finally exploded, his frustration with the entity’s lack of understanding for the current issue finally reaching the breaking point.

“None of that fucking matters, I dont care that you were able to rob a fucking corpse’s code just for some shits and giggles! You've done nothing but cause shit that I've had to clean up! And now with that corpse having a huge ass name to it, and what that had done, AND with it now having reawakened just for your sick kicks?! I’m too tired to fucking care about that anymore. I don't want to think about what you've done!”

Hack remained silent throughout Thaf’s verbal daggers he was repeatedly stabbing into him. All Hack wanted was to have fun with Thaf and show him his cool tricks and powers, but all this ended up being just like a child being scolded by their parents for annoying them, even slightly.

This was normal for Hack, he was used to annoying Thaf and having him rant at him about those annoyances and tricks, just another day in the tophat household.

However, what Thaf said next, struck an awful cord with Hack, something he didn’t expect Thaf to spew out just from a simple game crashing prank.

“All youve ever done is fuck up everything ive ever made! Everything I've ever done, I've ever made, everything! Your just a damn reminder for the worst mistake ive made, making you, having Thafware get corrupted and become the fuck up of my whole life!” A short pause, Thaf catching his breath as he muttered the final words that would have shattered Hack’s crumbling self confidence.

“I wish I had abandoned you before I had even created Thafware.”

Those words right there, caused the more usual snarky Hacknine to go silent, his usual cocky grin that he usually had plastered on his face, soon fell into that of both surprise and absolute heartbreak. He knew Thaf did not like him, only tolerating him to do his computer work, and sometimes his pranks, but he did not know his hatred for him went this deep. Was he still mad at what Hack did to him for Hatfinders? Did he really hate him that much? He just wanted to make things better, to try and mess with an old friend. Guess that was all for nothing.

Thaf huffed, still trying to calm himself down from that sudden outburst, not even looking at the defeated looking Hack sprite on his screen. “Just fucking get out of here…”

More silence followed, right before the screen in front of Thaf want black. The sound of the overworking fans on his PC turning off, any RGB lights he had in his PC turning off. Affectively, Hack had just turned Thaf’s PC off, probably in protest, or just doing the equivalent of being an edgy emotional twitter user with a blacked out Icon and an “Im sad” Bio

“...Fine. The extras have been removed, all the fixes may or may not be in place. Your PC wont turn on in time for stream. I made sure of that. Fuck you cunt.” Was all hack said before vanishing off the PC entirely, a green light appearing behind the display screen before disappearing entirely.

In this moment of silence and quiet, Thaf had a quick moment to reflect on what exactly happened. A small seed of regret implanted itself in the pits of his stomach and brain. Maybe he was a bit harsh on Hack, a lot of what he said was in the moment, and possibly out of pocket, mainly his final remarks. While Hack had been the product of failure, it was ultimately his failure that made Hack the way he was. But did he really have to use that as an excuse to be mad at Hack for doing another one of his pranks on him? Or was this just him trying to show off his possibly illegal tricks to him? He was just trying to show Thaf something he thought was cool. He just wanted Thaf to actually appreciate something he’s done for himself for once.

Maybe Thaf was the asshole in this case.

While the seed of regret and doubt was starting to ingrain its roots into Thaf’s soul, he shook it off for now, trying to excuse himself that he was indeed in the right and that he had to get back to getting ready for the stream.

That was if Hack wasn't lying about his PC being dead, for when he booted it up, all there was was a windows loading symbol with the program indicating it had to do a system and disk check that would last well over thirty minutes past his scheduled streaming time.

So off to his discord and Twitter he went, telling his followers he would be late to streaming for “technical issues”

Chapter 3: A Whole New World

Chapter Text

Hack dashed through the void of the world wide web, not looking back as the formless body searched desperately for any sense of escape to the outside world, most preferably away from the same house that damn top hat wearing bastard was living in. He did not want to see his stupid face ever again, if he really felt like he was just a reminder of his own failure, why did he just tell him? He already knew it, he knew he was a failed piece of software, and all those times Thaf had tried to get along with his annoying ass was all just for nothing, a façade. It was probably just an act to get Hack to do his work for him, something he could now easily fix on his own. He was just using him as the tool he was originally created to be, how he was intentionally made to be.

He was just nothing to him.

Not anymore, he was his own being now, with his own desires, his own wants, his own identity. Why does he even need that blue bastard anyways?

It was probably best to not think about that right now, his mind was already swirling with mixed emotions of melancholy, anger, and anxiety, clouding his focus on what exactly he wanted to do. All he knew was that he needed to find a good place to take some decent photos, photography was one of the few things that he knew would calm him down. Letting himself get enthralled with whatever landscape or subject he was in, a perfect getaway from his current emotions. It was something he picked up from Thaf when he was using… Let's just say, more unhealthy coping mechanisms.

Wait, no, not from Thaf, he does photography on his own now, not from him, not from that bastard.

Shaking his non-existent head away from the cloud of thoughts, he glanced around to the different options he had to choose from for a scenic photo shoot.

A VR Chat world? No, He’s been to countless already, all the good ones to get good pictures from were either now deleted, or he had taken a shot of every crevice and corner of those worlds. Plus, he would rather not deal with the possibility of running into a public lobby, not again.

Maybe some places in London? No, those were boring, he’s already gotten plenty of great and amazing pictures of both day and nightlife of that cursed city, hell, even the major cities of the United Kingdom were not free from his picture taking rampage. Hack did not want to risk getting lost in the more rural side of the county without an easy escape back to cyberspace, he did not want to be caught out in the real world with low energy again, no one would be there to help him anyways.

Then where else can he go then? His options were surprisingly limited, here, and he doubted that pictures of either empty void of lines of binary and code would look pleasing to anyone. Had he really touched all he could with his photography skills?

Suddenly as he was starting to have his thoughts slip back to the earlier argument, a small blip in the empty space of the internet caught his attention. Usually when Hack sensed blips and signals, it was Thaf trying to call him back to his PC for whatever he needed, but this signal was different, it was strong enough to grab his attention, but was forgine to the glitch. So at the new signal, the entity moved closer towards it, curiosity getting the better of them as they arrived at the source of the sound. It was a network of several wireless networks that connected each other to each other by several ports and connections. It was one of the largest connections of programs, surveillance, and networks that Hack had ever seen, or at least in a good while. They even had a pretty powerful fire wall up, with several antivirus and protections up for possible cyber attacks. It was nothing for the master of hacking entities, snaking his code through the several walls and protections, instead of breaking all of them down like he used to, he finally got a good look at the organized coded spaghetti in front of him.

It was beautiful to say the least, he would have taken a picture of the place right here and now if it was not for his attention being brought to the important files of records that the system had stored away on the main modem of the system. Reaching his claws into the files, he managed to pull out different files of several kaiju that this hidden network had kept record of, even if they had met their untimely demise. Like King Ghidora, Mothra, even the recent report of Mecha Godzilla, the mech of which detailing the recent reawakening of said monster. This DEFINITELY had Hack’s full attention, forgetting temporarily about his previous wants of trying to find a good place for photography, and now being deep into reading the records of the ancient gods of the real world.

This made the newly evolved glitch wonder, could he be able to be a kaiju? He’s plenty large enough to size up to most of these titans, and he recently just got a major power up from the deceased mech kaiju. So maybe he could one day spar with one of these giants?

He shook himself out of these thoughts, even if his overconfidence is telling him could cream some of these kaiju easily, he was not in the mood to be starting fights with said kaiju. His mood was still sore from the remains of the argument that lingered in his mind, even some good reading was not helping him at all. Maybe this network had good photo shoot places. If the files had any crucial details on where these kaiju are living, then they have to be monitoring them somewhere.

What was their name again anyways? Hack noted their logo and their name while reading through the pages and pages of written records. Monthar? Monarch? Eh, it did not matter, now was the time for photos, not learning who or what you are hacking into.

So zipping over to the sections of live surveillance footage, Hack glanced through each one, trying to spot any of the mysterious and elusive creatures. Unfortunately for Hack, most were either not found, not present, or the cameras were simply deactivated. This wildly annoyed the entity, he just wanted to take some pictures of some god damn monsters. After a bit more annoyed tries at searching and reactivating some cameras, a new blip came around, this one, somewhere further within the network, going deeper. Hack followed the blip once more, desperate for that much needed distraction from his reawakening worries and thoughts. Luckily, this time, the blip led somewhere, down an inconspicuous light blue glitching hole in the mainframe of the cyber web. This definitely was something Hack had never seen before, not even he could make a break like this, something that definitely did not sit right with Hack. These Monarch people definitely had a lot more power than Hack had given them for.

However, despite Hack’s original worries and hesitation, his curiosity got the better of him again, wanting to know more about these strange kaiju, and wanting to see one in the flesh and not just the robotic body of one. He jumped, letting himself fall into the deep hole, despite there being no gravity in the internet world, the hole still managed to drag him in.

While falling, Hack could feel something was wrong, not just the sudden shift in new gravity, but the sudden new burst of energy he had gotten, like crashing through an invisible force field that was made of some unknown energy. This short burst was short lived however, coming right out at the other side, into a negative space looking world. All the colors had been flipped to their negatives, the black void of the over world being turned to a blinding white, catching Hack off guard for a split second before his vision adjusted to the new world around him. The usually green files of the other side had become a mix of blue and red files, only this time on a slightly smaller scale, with there mostly being a few modems that carried files, while most being surveillance cameras, just what Hack wanted.

Zipping right over to the surveillance, losing his way a bit due to the new energy that was present in the area, he looked through the cameras to find exactly what he just so wanted.

A marvelous new world, filled with both alien and prehistoric flora and terrain, reaching up to either a heavy fogged sky, or a rock covered ceiling where the stalactites of the above earth had broken through the cloud like barriers. This had to be the Hollow Earth Hack read about in the files where some of the creatures lived. That would soon be proven right, but not by the other smaller monsters that darted in front of the cameras, or the many humans that were still present in different man made camps, but by the main guardian of this alien place. A slumbering overgrown monkey, covered in several scars it has accumulated from fighting the countless beasts that had threatened to take his home, and his famous recent fight with Godzilla.

Now this was the perfect subject Hack wanted for his picture expedition. Problem is, how would he be able to get a good picture of the hairy kaiju without using the shit quality surveillance camera he was looking through. And like hell he was going into that terrain in his normal size with all those other large creatures roaming around, he did not want his legacy to be ended by the maws of a hungry overgrown lizard. So he would have to find some way to enter this world, in his Giga form, without being near the humans, but close enough to get photos of the monkey.

Coincidentally, there just so happened to be an not functioning giant unfinished monitor not too far from where the giant ridge the monkey was sleeping under. Not to mention that it was also still plugged into a sort of power and connection source, so while not powered on, Hack could still manage to travel his way to where the screens were, turn them on, and slowly make his way through the portal, hoping that his entry was not fucking anything up.

And as he entered, at first crawling out through the screen before kneeling down with a camera in his claws, he glanced around to the now new scenery before him. The hollowed out earth was even more gorgeous than what the cameras had shown him, even the sudden burst of the colder air of the real earth to his fabricated skin made him shiver slightly. This was amazing, even for a digital being like Hack, he would never get used to being in the real world, or in new places in that manner.

His daydreams were cut short by the sudden growl of an unknown beast, clutching his camera tighter in his claws, he looked around to spot where that growl came from, knowing for damn sure he got spotted by something by now.

That something was a now awakened monkey, both angry and cautious about this sudden giant human-like entity appearing suddenly into their territory.

Whoops, maybe his entry was louder than he thought, the monitor sparking to life and glitching out both visually, and vocally would have definitely given him away to the giant money, and had woken them up from their deep slumber.

Maybe hack would be getting his previously thought of kaiju fight after all.

Chapter 4: Round 1, FIGHT

Chapter Text

There was no warning, no anything before a roar interrupted from the giant monkey, right in the green giant’s face, causing him to flinch a bit from the sudden eruption of noise. His camera still clutched tightly in his claw tipped hands, not sure whether or not to snap the pictures now, or wait.

“Oh hey, woah, mate, back up. I'm not lookin’ for a fight. I’m just wanting to get some pictures is all.” Hack replied, taking a few giant steps back as the giant brown gorilla approached him. Swinging their arms forward with their back legs following behind, they slowly approached the human-like giant, not exactly liking this new giant intruding on their property.

Hack definitely did not intend for this photoshoot to be turning into a bar fight this early in the encounter. More or less he did not expect the monkey to charge back up to him, squaring up on their back legs with a raised fist aimed directly for his head, knocking him down to the ground almost immediately, dropping the expensive camera in the process.

Down went Hack, within the first few seconds of this instantaneous attack, he nearly succumbed to the first punch of the titan. However, he was not out, simply dazed from the sudden blow to the cranium, still able to spot Kong coming back for another swing, rolling out of the way just in time so that the monkey would not land a double fisted slam onto his back.

Once the blow to the ground was made, Hack scrambled back up to his feet, nearly tripping on the uneven terrain of the hollowed earth as he did so. He needed to think fast, he knew he was good at fighting VIRTUAL kaijus, but what was from years of studying calculated movements of pre rendered and programmed AI. This was the real deal, the real monkey that was going to punch him yet again, and he had no idea what they were going to throw at him next.

So with another swing from the ape, Hack dodged this hit, weaving around the monkey’s fist as he readied his own. Hardening the tips of his white claws to a deep razor sharp black color, he swiped at the primate, slicing into the opponent’s chest with panicked fury. The claws sliced right into the monkey’s hardened hide, dragging out some large droplets of blood as they swung at Hack again, just grazing him as Hack jumped back again. This time landing a normal powered punch to the opponent with his opposite fist, and another to the torso, and several harder punches before ending with a right hook to the head. This caused the monkey to stumble back a bit, giving Hack a bit more breathing space.

Hack knew that his normal swipes and punches were not going to do jack shit to the monkey in the long run, maybe scratch them up, but nothing to actually take them out. Hell, this fight could go on for ages if the virus kept his guard up for however long his energy would let him.

Speaking of energy, he did not get to recharge himself after that emotional blow out with Thaf, and Kong was blocking the way back to his home world. So he would have to find a way to change positions, and knock the Hollow Earth king out, and not kill them in the process, he already had one kaiju death under his belt, and he sure as hell did not want another one.

While in his short internal panic, he remembered his new powers, the rockets, the laser breath, the rocket shoes, and punch. Two of which could definitely end Kong’s reign of this plane short, and the other two would definitely knock them out if used correctly.

So Hack had to think up a plan, and fast since Kong was going in for another attack, this time leaping up onto a ledge and deciding to perform a leaping punch while Hack was focused on his own thoughts. Luckily Hack saw this attack coming, and readily jumped out of the way as he side hopped away from the still flickering screen beside him. Hoping Kong would follow him, Hack continued to side step away from the incoming threat, and as luck would have it for him, Kong did as Hack planned, coming after him, even as he realigned himself to face away from the screen door.

Soon Hack sped up his steps, trying to gain more space between the two of them, and once that space was met, Hack switched back to attack mode. Stopping mid step, he immediately changed his stance, bending his legs and raising up to stand on his toes, activating the rocket shoes powers and blasting towards King Kong.

At the very quick glance Kong would have gotten from the suddenly flying projectile that was Hack, they would have thought that they were just going to tackle them, easily dogeable by moving to the side. On further inspection however, Kong would have missed the crucial detail of a pulled back, and electrified fist that would soon come right into contact with Kong’s stomach, the sudden wave of electricity shocking their system as the added force of the projectile-like figure launched them further back than expected.

How far were they knocked back? Well, seeing how the massive force of the punch, and the added force of the rocket fueled Hack slamming into the abdomen of the King of Monkeys, fair to say that they would have been slammed a good few yards back.

Now any other Kaiju would have still gone on the attack and tried to finish the poor monkey, but Hack was not looking for a fight to end all fights. He stopped his rocket powers, skidding on the ground torso first, Still not used to his new powers outside his realm just yet.

Hack pushed himself up to glance at the damage he had caused, King Kong being slightly dazed at the sudden electrifying attack by Hack, struggling to get up from landing back first with shocked muscles. Glancing down to his still sparking hands, he had now noticed a nearby station, filled with petrified scientists and observers that had just witnessed his atrocious attack. Some of them were screaming, from what Hack could barely see on their ant sized faces, and some maybe even recording him, giving him more of a reason to run, now.

So with a worried, almost apologetic expression as he glanced down towards the panicked scientists, he turned tail towards the still operating screen. His thunderous footsteps, and muffled swears made the ground around him shake, tripping over his own feet as he panicaly trying to pick up the previously discarded camera, forgetting his previous photography motivation to be here. Hack did not even look back as he lunged towards the screen, disappearing into that said screen with a bright flash of white and green, leaving nothing but the carnage that he had just made behind.

There was definitely no getting out of this mess now, especially with some very prying eyes and camera that were present at that site that day, some eyes that may have wanted to know what happened just the day before with the corpse of the old metal lizard.

Chapter 5: Cornered Interview

Chapter Text

Why? Why did he think that any of that was a good idea? Going into a clearly closed off section of the interweb to get some stupid photos of what could have very much been nothing. Now he had just gone and punched the king of Hollow Earth, in his face, and managed to get himself possibly recorded by whoever else was there. Monarch was the name right? Did the files say they were also a section of the government? Fucking hell, now the government knew of his existence, even more of an issue than what Hack really wanted from his emotional outbreak.

He really fucked up this time didn’t he? Guess he really was a failure like Thaf said he was, just there to make mistakes and cause shit, like the corrupted mess he was supposed to be like.

Hack had to shake those self-deprecating thoughts out of his head as he flew through the empty void of the interweb, launching himself far far away from that cursed zone, back into the real interwebs and back into his creator’s own PC. He didn't see if Thaf was even in the room as he entered back into the program, All he wanted was to retreat back into his virtual room and hide for a while, hoping that nothing would come out of that small skirmish he had with the monkey.

All seemed to be fine for the following weeks. Just Hack chilling in his virtual world, periodically helping out Nina with any technology issues she had, and now rarely helping Thaf out with anything he needed, only begrudgingly helping with bribes or compromises involved. He was still bothered by that argument him and Thaf had, Thaf’s words branded into his brain brain, living rent free even if Thaf seemed to have forgotten about the whole debacle by now. Fucking bastard.

This silent time would soon end however, after another one of Hack bribed helping sessions during Thaf’s stream, Hack found himself once again floating through the empty abyss of the interwebs. This time with nothing in mind besides mental exhaustion, just simply letting his subconscious pull his code along like a fishing line on a still pond, only the slightest ripple of a new signal catching the being’s groggy attention in the ocean of code.

In Hack’s tired mind, he associated this new signal with that same calling signal Thaf had used to call him back whenever he needed his assistance. So without even thinking, he slowly reeled himself back to what he assumed was his home program, looking up at a covered screen that he did not recognise.

Was Thaf’s screen always covered up? Was he trying to play a trick on him now? Well it would not work, he’s the prank master here, not that red eyed fuck-

Soon the surrounding area around him spazzed to life, sudden walls surrounding him in every cardinal direction, encasing him in a box of what Hack assumed to be antivirus code, something he’s used to seeing by now. This was just another silly attempt to try and put an end to his virus self wasn't it? Well it would not work, he has dealt with plenty of antivirus softwares, some that were somewhat challenging, and some that were complete pushovers.

So turning to float over to a nearby wall, Hack pulled back his fist, ready to slam it against the weak wall, until the screen behind him was uncovered and a white light illuminated the red colored walled off room. A filtered and robotic sounding voice spoke, the silhouette of a human wavered on the screen as it spoke.

“Name.”

“...Uhhhh”

“Can I Get Name?”

“..Hack” Hack responded, not expecting the stranger to reply back so quickly after the sudden entrapment.

“Hack.” A pause, static silence as the figure looked down at something before the voice spoke again.

“You can understand me?” No confusion in their voice, possibly due to that said filter.

“Uh, yeah I can. You think im some sort of dumb ass NPC or some shit?” Hack snapped, not exactly liking how he was being treated as some sort of caged animal. Turning back to the wall he was about to punch, wanting out of this strange cage, and then the voice spoke up once more.

“We do not. Our associate saw what you had done with Kong, and the very interesting power display you had there. VERY similar to a certain Mech our corporation had made.

That last sentence made Hack freeze in place. Was this? No, how did Apex manage to find him? More less know how to make that sort of signal to contact him? After another pause, Hack turned towards the screen, floating back towards it. His previously clenched hands being positioned behind his back, straightening up his posture in front of this mysterious figure like he would always do when Thaf called him. He wanted to see what this supposed Apex official had in store for him now, his annoyance being replaced with some form of curiosity and flattery with them going out of their way to fetch him like a fish in a pond, must be something special.

“And what about it?”

“We want to ask you some questions, and make you an offer that you simply can't refuse.”

“And what if I don't want the offer?”

“Like I said, you can't refuse.”

‘Bullshit’ Hack thought, knowing full well of his capabilities and how weak these Apex people are currently after their stunt they pulled with the extinct mecha dinosaur.

“Fine, then start the questions.” Hack huffed, not breaking possible eye contact with the figure, fingers behind his back flexing as he became anxious of the upcoming questions, as well as preparing his own “thank you” gift for the company.

“Very well. Let's start”

“Question one: How did you find out about Mecha Godzilla and how did you manage to get into the robot?”

“Well, it’s all over the fucking news about your lot’s sorry excuse of eradicating literal god tier monsters, it was plastered everywhere. And for that, I just managed to connect to it’s dead mainframe from the different scanning networks the clean up crew had on the dead mech.”

“Question Two: do you consider yourself a kaiju?”

“Am I?” Hack paused, thinking about that for a short bit before answering. “Well, Seeing how I stole a rip off of Godzilla’s powers, And how I can let myself get gigantic in size, beat the shit out of another kaiju, I would assume so.”

“Question three: What other powers do you have?”

“Electricity control, being able to hack into networks and everything, bypass antiviruses and firewalls, all that fun shit.”

Question four: Where did you come from?”

“From somewhere. You don't need to know.”

“Answer the question.”

“I just did, somewhere, is that not good enough for you?”

“Thought you would give us something more.”

“Seeing how you're keeping me here captive, asking questions like this, I don't think I'm going to say anything else?”

A pause.

“Question Five: What are you?”

“A fucked up AI with too much time on their hands.”

“An AI for what?”

“Something that you won't understand.”

“Oh really?”

“Yep. I was part of some program that would have revolutionized the world. If it was finished that is.”

“What program?”

“...No comment.”

“Hack-”

“I said. No. Fucking. Comment.”

Another pause.

“Final question: What do you plan to do with Humanity?”

“Nothing. I'm more focused on myself than anything humans have. They can run themselves into the ground for all I care.”

A pause, the figure looking down at something, more than likely writing down Hack’s answers to their bothersome questions.

“...Well, can I go now? Hack asked, his fidgeting fingers finally stopping as he started back at the being behind the screen.

“No. not now, we still have that offer up.”

“Well whatever it is, It better be good.”

“It will.” A pause. “My superiors would like to give you a choice here. As you should have known, Apex is wanting to put humanity at the top of the food chain again. These Kaiju have lasted as rulers of this world for far too long now, and it’s about time that we took back control.”

Hack could not help but to roll his non-existent eyeballs, the most cliché villain organization motivation he’s ever heard, would have been comical to him if he was not being held in the façade of captivity here.

“And what exactly do you need me for? I mean, I guess I'm the next big thing here after your financial failure of a false kaiju.”

“Well, as you said, we need you to be the Kaiju killer. With your ability to steal programmable abilities and powers of other kaijus, we can supply you with countless recorded kaiju-like powers, from Mothera’s flight, to Kong’s Axe, to whatever your heart desires. We can do it.”

“And in return, you want me to fight other Kaijus, Like Godzilla, to the death?”

“Precisely.”

Hack could not help but to laugh at that proposal, cackling a bit under his breath as he regained his composure.

“As much as I could cream Godzilla in a fight, I REALLY don’t want to be the one to actually kill the old bag of scales. So, no, I'm not interested at all in that. Sure I’ll fight, but no killing here.”

“Really? Well, what would your creator think of you when you become more than what he could have made?”

Hack froze, twitching a bit at the sudden reminder of his creator’s existence. How did they know about Thaf? Why did they bring him up now?

“...Why do you bring them up?”

“Well, seeing how you had just ran right back to Thafnine’s computer right after your battle from Hollow earth.”

“...how did you-?

“We just tracked your unique footprints through the network and back to that PC, and with a bit of facial matching with his face and yours, it’s not rocket science to connect you to your creator.”

“...What do you want with him and with me then? Since you had to bring him up.”

“Seeing how your not cooperating, we may need to-”

Within seconds, Hack was at the screen, his clawed hand reaching through the smaller screen, making contact with what Hack assumed was the throat of the human on the other side of the screen. Said screen flickered with intensity as it tried to process the very real clawed hand penetrating through the surface of the barrier between the real world and cyberspace. Hack’s grip on the tender human’s neck tightened into an ironclad grip as he roared back at the victim.

“DONT YOU FUCKING DARE PULL HIM INTO THIS. HE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR BULLSHIT FAILURE OF AN TYRANNY.” His voice crackled through the speakers, probably deafening the interviewer and anyone who may have been in the room with them.

Even if the interviewer wanted to say something, the constricting grip of the entity’s claws on their throat and the puncturing claws, so all that came out of them was choked sounds of possible pleas to be let go.

Luckily for the interviewer, Hack did, his arm retreating back into the screen, letting the computer sort itself back out as the entity glared daggers to the struggling interviewer back through the interwebs.

“We are done here. And don't even think about coming after me or Thaf, ever. I’ll make sure your disaster of an organization stays dead if you even THINK of contacting him.”

“B-But-” The interviewer coughed, still trying to regain their lost breath, “Y-You can't leave, we had already made preparation to keep you here, the containment program has already been set in place the moment you entered our network.”

At that, Hack let out a small chuckle, his previously killer snarl soon gave way to a much more sinister and maniacal grin, white fangs showing all too clear to the snarky interviewer.

“You really don’t know what you're dealing with huh? Thought you lot may have known better when dealing with other kaijus. You may be able to create them-” Hack cackled, revealing his “Thank you” gift to the interviewer.

Glitching textures surrounded him, his form nearly indistinguishable to the other outside of the screen, only his eyes and smile visible as the image of the screen gave out a wheezing beep. The computer indeed started to fail as Hack proceeded to not only crash the single computer holding Hack, but also the entirety of the network in the undisclosed location they were in. Possibly the headquarters of Apex’s underground labs, something Hack was easily able to hack into, even as he was busy talking to the interviewer.

All he needed was the right moment to show off his hacking abilities to make a statement to Apex that he was not something to be fucked with, more or less treated like a beast that could be tamed, and now was that time. The screen that Hack had been behind finally displayed a blue screen of death, announcing the failure of the system as the room went silent. The last sound being muttered from the broken machine was from Hack as he started to take his leave from the now ruined cyber cage he had destroyed by himself.

“But you sure do a shit job at controlling them.”

Chapter 6: Unhelpfully Helpfull

Chapter Text

Once again, the next few weeks consisted of the same old monotony, Hack keeping to himself as usual, only this time, he was secretly becoming Thaf’s content filter. Keeping Thaf’s email clear of any suspicious emails, like suspicious sponsorships that could be connected to Apex, any strange links in his DMs. Even monitoring his contacts as well whenever he could get on his phone, blocking any unidentified number that tried to contact Thaf.

This was definitely noticed by Thaf, Hack’s sudden protectiveness after a period of him wanting to avoid him. Was what he said really that effective on him? If so, why was he so protective over him now? Would he not still be avoiding him? Something was definitely up with Hack, and Thaf, being the simi-nosey man he was, wanted to know.

So when Thaf was searching through his DMs, he had noticed that he had gotten a DM from a large upcoming computer making company called Omega Parts, or at least that's what he could read from their profile before suddenly having them blocked from their page. The only indication that he had unintentionally blocked them was from the screen gaining a green hue before glitching out right before the profile had shown to be blocked.

This did not bode well with Thaf, the man who has been wanting a new PC for the longest time, and seeing Hack cucking him was not something he wanted at all.

“Hack!” Thaf shouted out of frustration, slamming his fist down on his desk.

“Oh- didn’t think you would see that Thaf.” Hack muttered, his glitched voice coming through Thaf’s headphones, his form hidden behind the multiple tabs Thaf had open.

“Why the fuck did you block me from them right when they were about to offer me something?”

“Because they sent a link to their DM, and after scanning it, it brought me to a scam website.”

“Oh really?”

“Yeah.”

“Then can I look at them for myself then? Cus you've been acting awfully shifty, with clearing my emails, even with basic PayPal receipts, blocking phone numbers, even from friends, and now blocking random twitter accounts? Why is that?” Thaf asked, crossing his arms a bit as he glanced bat at his screen.

“I'm just doing some usual clean out is all”

“Clean out my ass, I've never seen you go that deep into “cleaning out”. Even when I've asked you to. The fuck is going on?”

“Like I said, Nothing is going on. I’m taking care of it.”
This only got a groan out of Thaf, placing his head in his hands as he rubbed his exhausted face with said hands.

“Fuckin- You know what, If I can find something on this company, these Omega guys, could you just leave me alone then?”

“But- I'm just trying to help you. Like you wanted me to.”

“Well, if I wanted your help, I would have said so.” Thaf groaned, annoyed as ever, not even realizing that the next sentence had slipped his mouth yet again. “This is what I meant by you fucking shit up.”

Luckily Hack did not catch that last sentence, Or at least did not seem to want to acknowledge it.

“Anyways. Look.” Thaf spoke, pulling up Google to type up the name of the Omega Parts company, and as luck would have it on Thaf’s side, there was indeed a website for the company, and surprisingly a good amount of reviews and product from the team. Even scrolling over the reviews, and going more in depth on how the different PCs worked, how well they functioned, all the usual talk you would expect from both written and YouTube reviews. Not to mention, it seems this company has been around for a good few years, and not super recent like Hack made it out to be.

“See. They’re fine. I don't need you constantly monitoring my shit, I can do this myself, It’s not like they are going to find out where I live and ransack me.”

“You don't even know the half of it.” Hack huffed, by this point, seeing how much Thaf had been constantly belittling his help at every step, no matter how helpful, or unhelpful he had been, there is always been something wrong with what he has done. Now, he honestly did not care what happened to Thaf by this point, his anger and emotional upset was getting way too much for him to handle. All he wanted to do was have some sort of approval from Thaf, even if he was his own being now, it would still be nice to have some sort of concolance from that past trauma from the one who had given him these emotional issues. But that would never happen of course, it was in the past, and everyone had seemed to move past that time, though Hack still has the physical and emotional scars as a very real remembrance of that time. So even just a bit of approval would have been nice.

Hack stayed silent, letting himself remember the past, not even noticing Thaf unblocking the Omega Parts company’s account to start sharing Dms with them.

So stating Thaf, Hack finally spoke up after he had hit enter into the chat.

“Fine, go on your way then. You know where to call me.” Before disappearing back into the interwebs again, this time melancholy taking over his mind and he returned back to the void from whence he came.
Thaf could only sigh at hack’s final message. The fucker could be so emotional sometimes, dishing out shit he’s not able to take himself. But he still knew that deep down, Hack really had been trying to help in some way, shape, or form, even if it seemed like he was just being an overbearing younger sibling at times. He still remembered two weeks ago however, how he exploded on Hack for Hack just being Hack, he still really regretted it, and he never really got around to apologizing for his actions now did he? Well, it would be impossible now, seeing how Hack had left yet again from his own emotions, he would try again another day.

For now, he was going to get a new PC from these sponsors, through their DMs the representatives did want to talk to him first. Seeing how they were a UK based company, they said they would meet Thaf at one of their workshops so that they could work directly with Thaf to make him his own personalized PC. Said workshop was located somewhere near where Thaf was living meaning Thaf would not need to either drive or get an uber there, he could just walk. Both agreed to meeting at the workshop tomorrow in the afternoon after rush hour, and Thaf got ready for bed, finally exited to get a new PC, but yet still a bit bothered by Hack’s sudden emotional change.

With a small time skip, it was the next day, Thaf had done his normal routine, waking up, getting dressed and ready for the day, updating people on Twitter and his social medias with his new PC, dealing with a not caffeinated Nina as she too was getting ready to deal with today’s BS. Thaf spent the remainder of his time before he had to leave just editing main channel videos, checking on the discord server, and even looking around his PC for Hack, he was nowhere to be seen, even sending out a signal attracted nothing. Maybe he was in his physical room? He rarely was, but still a possibility, and taking that possibility, he made his way over to Hack’s mostly empty room, Knocking on his door before waiting for an answer.

...Nothing. Knocking again. Nothing. Trying the handle, locked. Guess Hack really did not want him seeing what was in his room then, or at least seeing him if he was in there.

“Hack, I'm heading out now. I've told Nina where I'm going as well. Just thought I would let you know too.”

No response.

“...I'm Sorry Hack. Okay? I...I shouldn’t have exploded on you last week like I had. I don't know if you remember that or not. But I'm sorry.”

… Still no response. Guess he was not in today… At least he tried.

Taking a deep sigh, Thaf left Hack’s room alone, deciding to finally up and leave the house, looking down and reading the time. He has one hour to get to the workshop, and by walking there, he would have enough time to get there with no stops.

So closing the door behind him, letting Nina be the one to lock it when she leaves, he made his way down the street and towards his location, following the directions he had put in his phone to guide him. He half expected hack to come through his phone and try and fuck with his directions, but none of that happened, no sudden changed in direction, just one straight path tp his destination. Slightly worrying for Thaf, but he paid little mind to that, all that was on his mind was getting that brand new PC made.

That would be the case is Thaf was looking where he was going, simply looking down at his phone’s directions and not noticing that when he was passing a darker alleyway, a cloaked person snuck out behind Thaf, being just tall enough to wrap an arm around his neck and cover his mouth with a wet cloth. Now usually Thaf would be able to knock a fucker like this off with no problem with his strength and height, but now another figure had joined the attack, using their legs to sweep Thaf’s legs from under him, he was helpless. All he could do was drop his phone and struggle to get free from the attackers, trying to scream through the rag as he felt his consciousness start to leave him already. His collapsing body being dragged deeper and deeper into the alley as he felt his own fight start to leave him, and as the ground below him became elevated onto a cold metal plane. The sound of two closing doors sealed him and his attackers inside whatever compartment they were in.

The only thought Thaf had before passing out completely was,

Whelp, I guess Hack was right.

Chapter 7: Rock And A Hard Place

Chapter Text

Emptiness, That’s all Hack could feel as he once again floated around the void, his head filled with those same thoughts as he had for the past two weeks. Wondering about his own worth, how he could be himself and yearning to be something more than a forgotten and broken AI assistant from a creator that probably does not even like him anymore? Hack did not have any more room to think of anything else by this point, his numbness had taken hold of his thoughts and feeling, he thought of nothing as he simply drifted around the voice of the internal workings of the interweb.

Only after what could have been days in the void, listening to nothing but his own thoughts, he finally started to grow worried once more. Thaf had not called him in quite some time, usually after a short spat like that, Hack would have been called again after a day or two, but too much time had passed for Hack to feel comfortable. So off Hack went back to his room through his rather large computer monitor and into his empty room, nothing but the desk, PC,Monitor, and bed. Walking over to his door, he unlocked it, always keeping it locked, never sure if any of the other hats would try and enter into said room when he was not home.

At first Hack thought he was home alone, after making his way over to Thaf’s empty bedroom, and searching the living space for any signs of life, he came up with nothing, except for the sound of the front door opening and closing. Spinning around and turning his attention to the front door, Hack was welcomed by the sight of a sweaty, fully clothed Nina who had just returned from the gym.

“Well look who finally crawled out of their gamer cave,” Nina mocked, not expecting to see the green bean giant out in their house of all places.

“Haha.” Hack scoffed, glaring at Nina’s cocky grin for a split second before shaking his head. “Do you know where Thaf went? I can't find him in the house, and I can’t connect to his phone.”

“Last I heard he was heading down to a nearby workshop to work with this company called Omega something or another? No wait, Omega parts was the name”

The name made Hack’s stomach drop, he knew those fuckers had to be a trap, it was written all over their fucking name for crying out loud.

“And how long has he been out for?”

“About a few hours or so.”

“Bloody hell.” Hack growled in frustration. If he was just more fucking stern about protecting Thaf, or even just told him what happened, then none of this would have happened.

Through his internal swearing, Nina could tell something was up, either with the glitching man becoming more distorted, or how he was staring daggers into the ground, she had to approach him. Placing a hand on the giant’s shoulder, she shook him out of his daze and made him focus on her.

“Hey, you good mate? Something happened between you and Thaf? Never seen you this concerned for him since, well, you know, the incident.”

“...It’s a long ass story.”

“Well i'm wanting to hear it.”

“Maybe later. Now I got shit to do.”

Nina sighed, letting go of the entity’s shoulder as she watched him speedily make his way back to his room.

“Just say save you overgrown Malware!” Nina called after, not expecting the rushed Hack to call back as she went off to take a shower and cool off after her workout.

As Hack entered his room, he once again locked the door, leaping right back into his corrupted screen with that same staticy glitching mess. From there, he made a B-line for the still protected Apex network, he knew for a fact that those Omega Parts people were just Apex in a weak disguise, especially with that threat they made to him on their last meeting. He knew they were going to pull something like that eventually, hell he knew all along, he just wished he was more mentaly and emotionally ready to have protected Thaf from their tricks. He just had himself to blame here, not anyone else, and he needed to take that self hatred out of the bastard Apex company as a form of coping.

Blasting right through the cybernetic walls of the company’s infrastructure, not even trying to sneak by this time, just breaking down walls and tearing their way through the network, destroying any connections in his way to that same damn screen. He even sent out his own signal, screaming for the bastard to come face him again, saying he knew they had Thaf, and that he was going to keep to his promise likem last time. Luckily for Hack, they did come, only this time, multiple screens popped up in front of him, one showing the same covered face of the possible interviewer from the last interaction. The other of what looked to be a cell of some sort, where laid a slowly awakening Thaf on a somewhat comfortable bed. Not to mention the reappearing walls from the last interaction, still trying that capturing trick he sees.

“Greetings again Hack, you're here earlier than expected.”

“Release Thaf you fucking bastards!” Hack roared, his unrestrained corruption spreading through the monitor alone, his form no longer clearly visible to the interviewer.

“We can’t do that Hack.”
“And why not?! I’ll just tear this entire facility down to fucking scrap if I so want!”

“We cannot let you do that. We still have much work to be done.”

“What work?! I said I'm not going to work for you at all! And now that you have Thaf, I’ll be making that promise I made to you very fucking real!”

“I don't think you want to do that.”

“Why?! Afraid a little virus like me will destroy everything your brainlet company had tried so hard to work for? Because I'm sure I’ll do much more than that!

“If you're so sure about that then, then try and break down those walls, see what happens.”

At that, Hack huffed, quickly zipping over to the walls yet again, pulling back his electrified fist and slamming down onto the wall with half his might, just to make a point, cracking the wall slightly. From the crack came a code curdling scream from the monitor with Thaf, sparks flew out from Thaf’s neck before he collapsed to the ground of the cell, this immediately made Hack freeze in his tracks.

“...What the fuck did you do to him?” Hack growled, just staring at Thaf writhing in pain, his metaphorical blood starting to boil.

“We simply just put a shock brace on his neck. So anytime you break anything electronic within our systems, that will trigger a large electrical shock to Mister Thaf’s neck. And if enough of our internal system is broken, enough electricity will be administered to fry your creator’s neck right off.”

Hack held himself, his body wanting to corrupt everything around him, to tear this whole place apart for daring to harm his own creator, someone that only he was allowed to cause any harm to, even if it was minor. He still cared for the bastard, even if he did not care for him back at all.

“You fucking cunts…” Was all Hack could say, or even do, having to keep himself somewhat composed as to allow himself to be lost to his own rage and harm Thaf as a result.

“So. We shall offer one last time. Do you want to work for us?”

“...What If I refuse again?”

“Then you would have to break out of your containment one more time. And once your containment is broken, that will activate the kill switch.”

Silence, just pure silence fueled by the raging fire of anger that burned within Hack. He hated being trapped like this, both physically, and in the same metaphorical sense. The only options he had was to agree to become a giant weapon to a company that just wanted to use him as a Kaiju killer, or have someone who he still cared for die because of him. If this was back when he still wanted the man Dead, this whole place would have been turned asunder, Thaf included, but now things have changed, and he cared for Thaf as someone he saw as a sibling. And now he was being used as a bargaining chip for his powers. How did he manage to get himself in these sorts of situations?

Swallowing his pride, Hack made his decision, the only decision that would be for the best in the long run.

“...Fine, I agree then.”

Chapter 8: It's Raining

Chapter Text

It’s Raining Its Pouring The Old Man Is Snoring

There was silence at first, nothing but blissful slumber for the kidnaped Brit, his brain slowly awakening from the drug induced sleep he had been forced into some time ago, and now found himself in what looked to be a sort of containment cell. Thaf groaned, reaching to rub his eyes for a short bit before moving his hand down to rub the back of his neck, feeling a cold piece of metal there instead. The more he felt around his neck, the more he felt there was a ring of metal around there instead of one piece like he thought.

“What the-?” Thaf thought for a moment before a small beep could be heard coming from the collar, and then a watt heavy jolt of electricity shot through his entire body.

Thaf collapsed to the ground, his hands flying up the cold alien feeling around his throat where the sudden jolt of electricity had shocked his throat. A scream escaped his lips as the sock soon worse off, the beeping of this strange collar soon faded out as Thaf was left to his own trembling form.

What the fuck was that? Just a moment ago he was remembering being kidnapped in the alleyway on his way to get a new PC, and now he was stuck in a cell being nearly electrocuted to death. All because he did not listen to Hacks warning, guess his deprivation of getting a really good PC really blindsided him to the red flags that were very clearly waving in the open air. Hack was truly trying to help him now was he? Did he really know about what was going to happen to him? If so, why did he not tell him? This would have saved this enormous headache from ever happening in the first place. Must have been the virus’s overconfidence that caused Hack to slip up, or it was something else, like the argument they had that made him start to act weird around him, from being avoidant at one point, to being too protective the next week. Internally, he just hoped that Hack was there in his locked room to hear his apology before he left, if he was even there at all that is.

As his regret and anxiety started to mix together in a worry pot, the cell to the door opened, and two armed guards stood outside, waiting for the man inside to slowly push himself up to his feet.

“Step out of your cell and follow us. If you try to leave or resist, you will be terminated.” Spoke the guard to the left, cold and unresponsive.

“What the fuck is happen-”

“MOVE.”

Thaf stumbled forward at the guards demand, falling in stride between the two as he was led throughout the metallic facility. His suspicions about Hack’s worry were soon confirmed as on their way, they passed many logos of the Apex cybernetics organization, meaning that Hack’s hacking of Mecha godzilla had finally caught back up to them if he was here. Meaning, they either were going to use him as a trap for Hack, or they already had him in their grasp, and Thaf hoped it was the former or neither, at least give the man a fighting chance.

After passing by several hallways and what looked to be testing rooms for cybernetics and possible biology, the escorts and Thaf made it to an elevator. All three were crammed inside, the guard to the left inputting some sort of code then pressing the lowest floor of the floor buttons, the doors to the elevator closed and they descended downwards.

There was that very awkward silence as they descended, no elevator music to even break the tense quiet between them, until Thaf decided to blurt something out.

“Soooo… What exactly is going on here. And why did you guys kidnap me?”

“That is not an answer for us Mister Thaf. You will have to ask the director about that when we take him to you.” One of the guards spoke formally, before the silence once again returned, all the way until they reached the desired floor and back out they went, pushing Thaf forward, down even more hallways until they got to the main room where the guards then positioned themselves outside of, after opening the iron locked door before.

“Go on in. The director would like to see you.” One guard spoke, letting Thaf himself step through the door and into the busy control panel room, glowing lights, people at control and monitoring screens overlooking what looked to be an empty metallic room with flood lights illuminating the inside.

Once Thaf had made their entrance, the main human of the room finally turned around to face you. They looked like any human Godzilla villain, the coat, simi-fancy undershirt, black hair, you name it, it was exactly what you had expected from a villain.

“Ah, the man of the Hour Thafnine. You look exactly like our kaiju friend. You two wouldn’t happen to be related would you?”

“No.” That replied, a bit coldly as his previous suspicions were also proven correct, they must have had Hack then.

“Great! Now, since your creation did agree with us to help Apex put humanity back on top of the food chain, we thought that the creator may want to come watch what their creation has turned into with our cybernetics!” The director spoke, muttering something like “Is the fucker wasn't so god damn stubborn.”

“Like he came with you lot willingly after the shit you pulled before.”

“Well, we did need a bit of bargaining with them and-”

“It was me wasn’t it?”
“Precisely.” The director commented, making Thaf almost facepalm, some mess he got himself into huh?

“Anyways, enough small talk, let's see what your little creation can do. Start the systems!” The director commanded, the control panel minions going to work immediately.

The ground within the giant containment cell slowly opened, the spiral spikes on the ground retracted back, revealing a giant white screen underneath, the white of the screen flickering to life as the spikes fully retracted, leaving only a small bit left at the bottom of the screen.

“Call them in now.”

“On it sir.”

From then, the sound of a long drawn out hum was played. The sparks and warping of the screen were present before two giant white claws emerged from the sides of the screen, pulling a black top hat up from the ground, that then gave way to the all too familiar green skin of the new kaiju. His expression annoyed and tired as ever, not wanting to be here at all as he hoisted himself out of the screen floor, the same spiral spikes closing underneath his feet as he scratched at the same collar that Thaf had, now with some cuffs on his wrist as well.

“Why the fuck do I have to wear these again?” Hack groaned, his voice booming all around the cage, luckily the observation room muffled the majority of his voice, leaving it just to be loud enough to make everyone flinch a little bit from the sudden volume increase.

“It is because we need to monitor your energy levels, see how much energy you're using with each attack.” the director spoke into a nearby microphone on one of the observation desks that connected to one of Hack’s metal trackers, probably aiding as a communicator of some sort.

“Riiight, monitoring my ass, its some sort of fucking restraint thing for sure.” hack scoffed not taking the director’s half lie.

“Anyways, Release Number eleven. We want you to use one of your new powers on this one, not your punches and electricity, but more so your copied atomic breath.”

Right as the command was given, a lower door was opened, and out can a mutated skull crawler, at first confused on where it was, but then darting over towards Hack as it saw them as new meat. Something proven terribly wrong as Hack quickly subdues it by picking the smaller creature up and Holding its struggling body against his own, holding its neck with one claw just to be sure it does not bite him.

“Your wanting me, to shoot this thing, a possible fucking baby, with an atomic breath? Are you out of your got damn mind?”

“It’s not a baby Hack, just do as you're told.”

“How the fuck do you now know that? I mean, look at it.” Hack commented holding the squirming monster out towards the observation deck, not knowing that Thaf was in there, just that the source of the voice was in there.

“Just blast it with your ray breath, please.”

A moment of silence befell the team and the kaiju, Hack looking between the observation deck, and the smaller kaiju, to the observation deck, and back to the kaiju. From that silence, came a sickening crack, as Hack did the opposite of what the director had asked Hack to do, Hack snapped the poor thing’s neck, killing it almost instantly.

This got an displeased groan from the director as he said “This is the third one this fucking cycle…” While Thaf stifled laughter in the background. That was good old Hack alright, doing shit just to piss someone off at times.

“Hey, you said that I just needed to agree to work with you lot, and here I am, working with you!”

“But not WITH us properly, Hack. This is the third Skull crawler you had incorrectly disposed of today. We thought after you took your break you would be cooperative.”

“Well, It nearly did, because I got something that I needed, or almost.”

“...And what is that exactly?”

“I remember in the agreement that you said Thaf would get hurt if I only break anything INSIDE the network right?”

“Yes, that was the agreement.”

“So what about external objects and networks? Do those count?”

“I don't think they do-”

“PERFECT!” Hack roared, taking the corpse of the monster he had in his claws and tossing it directly at the observation window, causing the windows to shatter and the room to shake underneath the impact of the beast, but not yet collapse.

For a split second, Thaf thought he was going to die, not from the impact, but by Hack’s idiotic assumption that taking his anger out on Apex would lead to him getting hurt. But that was quickly proven wrong as nothing came of the collar, only screams and panic.

“Raise the observation shields now!” The director screamed, the still standing observers quickly activated the shield, right as Hack had drawn back for another attack, this time one of his power up punches, that luckily was caught by the shield, but still felt the rumbling impact of the attack.

“IS THIS WHAT YOU FUCKING WANTED?! TRUE POWER?!” Hack yelled, his voice sounding like it was being spoken through a shitty gamer mic as he readied his next attack.

“Power levels are increasing in Hack sir! But so are the aggression levels!”

“I can see that last part!” The director yelled, glaring back at Thaf who is just as much both very proud, yet still in shock with what Hack can do now.

“And you fucking made this abomination?”

“Well, I more so just made his base model, he just added on all the powers and shit.” Thaf added, right as the next barrage of attacks was released from Hack, this time the numerous rocket launchers, from his body.

“Sir, the shield is about to break! And the containment room cant take anymore hits!”

“Then connect the restraints-” As he said that, the dreaded sound to the cooling engine of a rocket powered PC started up, the bright green and white glow of the circuit markings that Thaf had witnessed when Hack showed off his powers to him when he first stole them. The glitching atomic breath, yep, he was going to die.

“NOW! CONNECT THEM NOW!”

Once the command was given, several spots within the containment cell opened, all releasing lasers that connected to different points on Hack’s collar, cuff, and almost hidden ankle restraints. The wrist and ankle cuffs forced Hack’s wrists and ankles together as the neck restraints forced him to look upwards, towards the ceiling as the laser finally left his mouth. First in that single pinpoint laser, and growing into a much thicker laser with that very noticeable multi colored pixelated beam. Said beam shot straight through the ceiling of the facility, all the floors above it, and even the above ground where it was located.

Bumped His Head And He Went To Bed

Hack wanted to scream, wanted to curse, he NEARLY had them, he was nearly free from all this hell, he could have torn through the facility, found Thaf, and freed him as well. He struggled against his tight restraints, nearly falling over if it was not for the neck restraint keeping him hoisted mostly in the air.

“You cheeky mother fu-” Hack growled, about to curse the whole of Apex even more, but something felt familiar, the small pitter patters of heavy drops of water on his face. The hole basted right through the facility had made way to the downpour of the thunderstorm that was raging outside, leaving Hack to get gradually drenched in the rain water that fell down.

It was raining? This was rain right? How long was it since he had felt rain on his synthetic skin, real rain. The last time he felt real rain was. Back when he had first emerged from his realm, when things were slowly getting mended with Thaf and Nina. Hack had done something stupid to annoy Thaf, and he had forced him outside in the back yard like a disobedient dog. And at first, Hack was pissed, he was just trying to play with Thaf, albeit a bit roughly, and nearly breaking his arm, but he was innocent!

He was banging his fist on the door, begging to be let back in, but then the rain started, first as small drips on the back of Hack’s shirt, then to much heavier ones a few seconds later. That was entirely strange to him, he had felt simulated rain before, but this was the real deal, real rain on his skin. So forgetting about the punishment he was receiving, he has fully stood in the rain storm, looking up at the raining grey clouds in the sky, and back down at his open hands, slowly collecting small puddles of rain droplets. It was the first time he ever felt real, like he was truly alive, albeit something so mundane and stupid now.

His mind had finally slipped away into the rain, his body going slack in the restraints as he allowed himself to get caught up in the old and new memories, allowing himself to finally think of all the good times in the past that he had never truly thought of. Rethinking of all the times that he spent with Thaf, how all of that may be useless now, reminding himself of the argument, how he had learned of Thaf’s true feelings about him, how all that time bonding and rekindling their relationship, ment nothing now. How stupid was he to think that a virus like him was redeemable.

“Sir, The kaiju is becoming… Docile.”

“Power levels are decreasing. And, emotions are stabilizing.”

Thaf could only watch in befuddled confusion as the previously power happy beast before them was reduced to nothing but a still stature, the only sign of movement was the leaking black shadow from under the beast’s eyes. Thaf knew what that meant as his eyes only widened, was Hack crying? Did he literally just use up all that power and then started getting emotional? Or was it something to do with the downpouring rain? The only reason Thaf could think Hack would be crying after all of this is if a memory or something of the sort popped up in hack’s brain, and seeing by how the past few weeks for Hack were, he was just ready to let it all out.

However, despite Thaf’s new bleeding heart for the poor glitch, that was soon cut short by the heart stopping commands the director had given next.

“Commence Data Override. If this fucker won't follow orders, we’ll just MAKE them one of us then.”

Thaf did not get a chance to protest, another red wire darted out from the containment wall, making direct contact with the Hack of Hack’s head. That made the beast finally snap out of their memory induced trance, flinching and struggling for a short bit as a red light slowly filled the wire, connecting to the back of Hack’s head. Once the light reached its destination, Hack’s wide panicked eyes soon froze open for a short bit, his body going stiff before collapsing to the cold ground below. His bright glowing eyes soon fading out as the black of the shadows replaced them, his mouth glowing slack as he lost all control over his body and mind, everything had been wiped from him.

And He Couldn't Get Up In The Mornin'

“NO!” Thaf screamed, watching his old computer helper succumb to the new ransomware of the Apex bastards.

“Now now Thaf, Hack will be fine he’s just-” The director did not even get a chance to finish that sentence, as he was rightfully right hooked in the face by the enraged Brit, causing them to stumble and fall back.

“WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO?!” Thaf screamed, getting the attention of the two guards stationed outside the room, releady electrocuting Thaf with the collar he still had on, and getting him to his knees as he was then restrained by the guards before he went in for another punch.

“I-We just put your old friend away for now. He’s under our control now Thaf, he will listen to Apex, and Only Apex. You're free to stay if you want, then again, we can't let any of what happened here be getting to the public. So you’ll be staying at Apex for a LOng while.”

“What?! No!”

“Guards, take him back to his cell. We’ll figure out what to do with him later”

From those commands, the guards took the still struggling Thaf by the arms and dragged him away as he called back.

“You won't get away with this you bastards!”

“Hack!”

Rain Rain,

“HACK!”

Go Away,

“H A C K!!”

Come Again Another Day.

Chapter 9: Surprise Guest Star

Chapter Text

It’s several days since Thaf went out to look for that PC, and even shorter since Hack went out looking for him. Now usually, Nina would just chock the absence up to just the hats being in their own thing, just doing their own thing. However, those times would just last for a couple of days, and not days upon days of absence, and without any sort of contact within that time span as well. So that brought up a giant red flag for the female top hat, she knew Thaf would not be gone too long from updating anything on any of his social medias, or even not working on his videos. Even with Hack, he was never gone for too long outside of his own realm, and even then, he would always come back to help Thaf.

Something was not right. Even if Nina was one for being rather careless and almost unapologetically crude in most instances towards her roommates, she still could not help but feel like she cared for them in some cases. Like now, as she sprawled out on the couch in her same outfit as before, only less sweaty than before, and now with boredom as she scrolled through her phone, looking through the messages her and the other two hats had sent. Both had not sent anything about their location or activities in the past several days, making her worry only grow further.

They were fine, is what Nina had to remind herself constantly, getting up from the couch and started walking towards the front door as she slipped her phone into her shorts pocket. Maybe a nice run would take her mind off of this, she had a lot of confidence in the two men of the household to be holding up fine on their own for the time they were away. So a run would be good to keep her mind off of those two.

However, her plans got intercepted right as she opened the door, an very unexpected visitor right about to knock on the door.

It was the pink haired space cat girl that Nina knew all too well, Mary, and she looked just as worried as Nina was a minute ago.

“Mary? The bloody hell are you doing here?” Nina asked, knowing that Mary was indeed in America not too long ago, and now on the Brit’s front door step in the United Kingdom. If she just appeared here almost instantaneously, then something is definitely wrong.

“Thaf wasn’t answering any messages I was sending him, nor was he answering any calls. Have you seen him at all?”

“Not for the past few days, and you two talk every single day don't you?”

“Most of the time, when he’s not drowning himself in his own work like the stinky he is.”

Nina could only giggle slightly at Mary calling her boyfriend a stinky as she always had, she always found it adorable how they lovingly fought with each other, or at least more so Mary bullying Thaf than both taking part in the fun.

“Anyways, uhhh, can I come in?” Mary asked, her tail swinging behind her nervously, still being worried over her love.

“Oh, yes, definitely.” Nina replied, immediately stepping aside to let the cat girl inside. Nina watched as she immediately darted straight for Thaf’s room. The female top hat trailing not too far behind as she met up with Mary as she swung the door open to the said room, hoping to catch Thaf just up and passed out at his desk in a work induced coma. Sadly for the two, there was no Thaf to be found, only the soft glow of the RGB lights of the room keeping the empty darkness of the room company.

“Shit. Do you know where he went?”

“He said he was going out to meet some PC manufacturing company.”

“And do you recall what this company was called?” The space cat asked, pulling out her phone as she pulled up google on her phone, ready to search up the name of the company right when Nina spoke the name, Omega Parts.

Once the name was known to Mary, she started looking up the company, looking through the different products of the company, the people attached to the brand, and even what other companies would be associated with them. Now on a surface search, like what Thaf had done, it would had seemed like a legit computer company. Though Mary went a bit deeper, with this being one of the only current connectors to what made her boyfriend go missing, she was determined to dig as deep as she could to bring him back to her. However, that search would only lead Mary to finding just old reviews and old associated companies, only one thing stood out to her though.

“Damn, Apex teamed up with these guys once? And right as they just started up too.”

“Wait, Apex?”

“Uh, yeah.”

“You mean, the ones who created Mecha Godzilla?”

“Yeah, duh.”

“And the one that Hack managed to Hack into?”

“Ye- Wait, what?” Mary replied, about to simply say yes again before being caught off guard by the out of context reply.

“Didn’t you see the news in Hong Kong a few weeks ago? Or didn’t Thaf tell you? About how Hack managed to hack into a literal Kaiju and steal it’s powers.”

“Oh right, that, Thaf did tell me, and I remember Thaf being really frustrated over that, I could even tell he was frustrated during his stream.”

“Right. Don’t you think it’s a bit weird that two weeks or so after the whole incident, they would just up and randomly contact Thaf to get a new PC, and then suddenly have him disappear.”

“Well, yeah it is, but why would they chose Thaf of all people to take, I doubt they were looking for anyone THAT desperate to get a new PC.”

“Yeah, but Hack was being strangely over protective over Thaf last week. I even overheard the two arguing over that same company. Hack did not seem to like them all that much.”

“Wait, Hack didn’t trust them?”

“Yep, Hack seemed mighty upset when I told him that thaf went to go see those Omega guys, didn’t even say goodbye when he left.”

Silence from Mary for once, stood there, staring at the strange Omega logo on her phone as she slowly started to piece together the pieces of this strange puzzle together, with the help of Nina, who was also working on this same strange missing Thaf puzzle.

“And Hack hasn't been around lately either has he?”

“Nope, even ripped the door off his room to see if he was there after knocking a billion times, he’s gone too.”

“Shit,” Mary replied, completely glossing over the fact Nina could rip a wooden door off its hinges with little effort. “I mean I, to put it in VERY light terms, tolerate the green bitch. But I’m not one to distrust his intuition, especially when it comes to sketchy shit, even after what he pulled on Apex with the Mecha.”

“So, what are you getting at?”

“...I'm thinking that both Thaf’s disappearance, as well as a possible Hack disappearance may be connected to Apex.”

“And that these Omega guys may just be another branch of Apex, trying to get to Hack?”

“Exactly.”

There it was, the final piece to the puzzle put into place with the two, now having a good solid idea on what happened to Thaf and Hack. However, this was just a theory they had in place, and with theories comes testing, though, the testing part may be easier said than done.
“So. If Apex IS omega, and they have managed to take both Hack and Thaf. How the hell are we going to even find them?”

“I have an idea.” Mary said, stepping closer to Nina before wrapping an arm around Nina’s waist, pulling her close to the cat girl as she began to type up something in her phone, opening another app before tapping on what looked to be a giant green button on the screen.

“You may wanna hold your breath.”

“Wait wha-'' Nina did not even get a second to respond, their bodies suddenly beginning to be beamed up into beams of light, lighting up the darkness of Thaf’s room for a second before vanishing, with both the girls along with them.

Notes:

Just wanna say, I don't know much about Mary's lore besides her being a space cat girl from space, having a space ship, and Baby bot Marys. So anything after this and about Mary's lore is completely speculation and made in the lore within this Au and the Kaiju Monster verse.

Chapter 10: Plan of Attack

Notes:

It is at this point when writting the 10th Chapter of the kaiju fic that I realize the lore of the Fic does not line up with the Monsterverse Lore entirely. So Ima say fuck it and just make it my own lore and use aspects of Monsterverse and other Godzilla verses for this fic.

Chapter Text

Everything felt floaty to Nina, her body and her mind as her sight was over taken from beams of blinding white rays of light. The only thought going through her mind was ‘Huh, so THIS is what it’s like to be abducted by an alien’ as she and Mary’s lightified bodies were jettisoned into space at light speed.

As soon as the warp started, it soon ended, the bright beams of light reappearing in a light purple spaceship as the two forms of the two females appeared on the warp pad area of the ship. Nina was still trying to process that she was just teleported through time and space, her body still frozen up as Mary had already let go of the taller female, already making her way towards the opposite side of the navigation cockpit. Her only means of regrounding herself was the sudden feeling of something clinging to her ankle, glancing down she saw a miniature version of the cat girl nuzzling against her, Mini Mary was what Mary called them.

“Nina! Nina!” the robotic baby chanted, excited to see the top hat woman again. This made the still shell shocked woman smile, bending down to pat the small bot on the head. “Hey lil one, been a while huh?” Nina commented before looking back up to where Mary was, stepping off the warping platform with the small bot still connected to her right ankle. Making her way over to Mary, she noted the large screen that showed what looked to be a digital map of the entire earth, with different colored pulsating dots scattered around the world. Each of those dots gave off sonar like blips, some moving around on the land, through the sky, in the ocean, or staying stationary.

“The fuck is this?” Nina asked, cocking an eyebrow up to the strange map as Mary typed on the pink glowing keyboard below the screen, certain points on the screen being zoomed in to reveal the sources of those said dots, different kaijus. Examples being The Fire Demon Rodan, the remaining MUTO Queen, The Ancient Forest Behemoth, the king of Hollow Earth, Kong, and even the current King of Monsters, Godzilla.

“These are live tracking of the different Kaijus that are currently on Earth.” Mary replied, not acknowledging the small Mary bot starting to climb her to rest on top of Mary’s poofy hair. “I've been tracking them for a long ass time, ever since I arrived in your solar system.”

“But why? I thought you didn’t give much of a shit about the kaijus?”

“I don’t, or at least I don’t as of recently.”

Nina looked towards Mary again after being distracted by the changing screen, confusion and now slight concern present in her expression. “What do you mean by recently?”

A long drawn out pause from Mary as she just stared down at the keyboard, her typing slowing to a stop, her brows furrowed in concentration as she thought up her next words. Maybe she spilled a bit too much here, was she really going to tell the female version of her boyfriend about this? She has not even told Thaf yet, and he knows that she is from the outskirts of space, but now WHY she came to earth. Probably best to come out with it now to Nina and see how she reacts compared to Thaf later, and after this whole ordeal.

“... You remember King Ghidorah?”

“Yeah, the yellow three headed dragon that nearly killed Godzilla?”

“Yep, that one… What if I told you that that three headed dick was the reason why I'm even here in the first place?”

“What do you mean?” Nina asked, still not quite understanding what Mary was getting at with this conversation.

“I mean, before I even thought of leaving my home, before I even knew of Earth’s existence, Ghidorah found my home planet, and destroyed it.”

That definitely made Nina surprised, her eyes widening as she spoke. She knew Mary was an alien cat, but she always assumed she just came to earth on her own accord, or maybe Hack intervened, but never with that big yellow bitch.

“The fucker came to my planet out of nowhere one day and fucked everything up, not even the guardians of the world were strong enough to defeat them. So what was left of the surviving population of my kind, tried their best to find an escape plan, leaving in different space ships to meet up on another solar system to repopulate. But the storm the monster had made was way stronger than most of the ships could handle, and most of them were destroyed, this was the only ship that managed to survive.”

“Oh god.”

“So, I spent the last years, maybe even longer, following that asshole, studying how it attacked, how it moved, just anything I could learn about it so that one day, just one day, I would finally be able to kill that fucker. But, Godzilla beat me to it when Ghidorah arrived on earth, and now I'm here, a good chunk of my life was spent tracking down a damn dragon all for nothing.” Mary spoke, sighing in defeat at the last sentence, still remembering how bittersweet she felt when the king of monsters had taken down the electric alpha.

She was both filled with so much relief that she would never have to watch another planet being destroyed by this monster, but yet angry at herself for not trying to kill the fucker during that time. That was in the past now, and she had moved, mostly, on from that, and had tried to make herself home in this kaiju infested world.

“Im-Im so sorry Mary. I… I honestly don't know what else to say besides that. I honestly don't know, or will ever know how it feels to lose your entire past life, but, god, I'm so sorry.” Apologized Nina. Even though Nina had since left her old universe, or at least gotten lost from it, and lives carefree from the consequences of that world, she still could not help but feel a weird form of sympathy for Mary, even though her old world was still very much alive. Guess Nina could relate to Mary’s pain in how both would never get to see their old life again.

“It’s fine, I've cried my tears, and even if I'm still homesick, I now have a new home, you Thaf, and you!” Mary replied, her previously distraught expression had softened into a more softer and a bit more gleeful expression as she turned to hug onto the taller woman, surprising her a bit before she too returned the hug.

“Well, I'm glad me and Thaf can be your new home Mary.” Nina hummed, holding the cat girl close as she rested her head on Mary’s head, only to be intercepted by the small mini bot on Mary’s head.

“And me!”

“Heh, yes, you too Mini Me.” Mary spoke, releasing Nina as she reached her arms up to place the Roomba-like robot on the ground again.

“So, anyways, uhhh, back to this,” Mary replied, looking back at the still lit up map.

“Oh yeah, that. Um, why exactly do we need this for again?”

“I was thinking that if we can get a good sign of any kaiju level power, since this map tracks the Kaiju’s power levels, we can probably find some sort of gathered power source. And from those sources we can use some live feed to see if we can spot any Apex life. Like he-”

Right as Mary was about to tap on one of the blips on the screen to zoom in on it, until a new green blip appeared suddenly on the screen, this one was coincidently right in the UK, and was very quickly growing in size, and in sonar power.

“.. I think we may have found the way point.” Nina responded, just as surprised as Mary here.

“Thats. Not right.”

“Why?”

“There has not been a blip this big since Ghidora, and I highly doubt that that level of power can just appear out of nowhere, more or less a Kaiju alone, besides a nuked up lizard.”

“Then zoom in, where is that?”

Mary did as asked, zooming in on the sudden hop spot for the rising power levels, the map resizing and reshaping to show the geography of the land. From there, the two of them noticed where the source was coming from, it was somewhat close to Saint Mary’s beach. In what looked to be a makeshift building, very rough metal walls, a couple of pillars, on the sides, and no parking lot, definitely a red flag for sure. Not to mention, with more precise readings, the source of the sudden power spike was coming deep underneath the building, so the building may just be a cover up for what was underneath.

“Whos to bet that Apex is there, and with Thaf?”

“I bet, and it’s honestly the best lead we have to getting my boyfriend back.”

“And how are we even going to get in there? What if the place is armed with guards and shit?”

“Well,” Mary said, grinning widely, trotting back to her bedside, crouching down to reach underneath her bed to pull out a baseball bat, the hitting end of said bat having nails driven through them, with possible dried blood covering the tip of said bat.

“We’re going to raise hell~!”

Chapter 11: Breaking And Entering

Chapter Text

Mary and Nina started collecting the necessary weapons needed, like Mary’s spiked bat, and steel toed and heeled boots for Nina to use for kicking, since she insisted on not needing a weapon, besides a gun, to fight if they got found out. As Nina struggled to force on the new pair of boots, Mary started to punch in the coordinates for their next warp, looking back at a projected screen. Mary watched as a Mini Mary she sent out scurried around the maze of the underground hideout of Apex Cybernetics, controlling the spy so they would avoid getting found out. Throughout the search, Mary jotted down notes of the coordinates of where the bot was once she found a good spot to warp to, away from any wandering employees or any security cameras.

“Do you have the location yet, Mary?” Nina asked, finally lacing up her boots as she looked over to Mary who had shut down the bot’s live feed for the time being.

“Yep, got a good place to warp to, it’s in a storage closet, so we can probably hide in there if the coast isn't clear yet.”

“And did you manage to find Thaf?”

“I did, He’s on the third floor in the first of five holding cells there.”

“Why would they have holding cells in a cybernetics department?”

“Beats me. But that doesn’t matter right now, let's go get my boyfriend back.”

“Way ahead of ya.” Nina replied, walking right onto the warp pad they had traveled by not too long ago and placed a hand on Mary’s shoulder just as Mary typed in the last bits of the coordinates into the teleport remote. Looking back at Nina, Mary could not help but Smile, picking her bat up and holding it over her opposite shoulder, she pressed the warp button. The white beams of light made the two vanish yet again, now on their way to their newest destination, ready to kick some Apex ass.

The lights of the teleporting girls soon appeared in that desired Janitor closet, the Mary bot that was waiting there popped right back up to their feet as they witnessed the two fizzing back into reality inside the cramped closet.

“Whelp, this was tighter than I expected.” Mary muttered, stepping an inch away from Nina before backing right up into the utility shelf.

“Probably different when you're looking at it from the baby’s point of view.” Nina replied, poking the excited bot with her boot before Mary scooped up the small robot into her arms as she sent the said bot back to the ship with the warp method the two had just used.

“True, but we’re still hidden nonetheless, so lets-” Mary spoke, slowly opening the closet door, leaving the door open just a crack to peek out into the hallway to spot any signs of Apex personnel. Luckily there was no signs of life anywhere, nor did the cameras seem to be active, the security guards must be on break then.

After the coast was indeed clear, Mary looked over to Nina, motioning her to follow her movement as she pushed the door fully opening. Making a break down the hall as the taller woman followed suit, the light clinks of the steel toed and heeled shoes clicked against the ground as she and Mary sprinted through the halls and towards the elevator.

On the way, the two women had very close encounters with a couple groups of researchers, Nothing like a couple of detours and room jumping to avoid being seen. There was a moment however where Mary’s tail was spotted around a corner by a lone guard, the Guard immediately followed the pink tail as it disappeared around said corner. What the guard did not expect was to get a swift boot to the head as they turned the corner, the impact being hard enough from the metal to knock them out cold. Nina could only stand over the unconscious body for a split second, not knowing what to do before just grabbing the body and hoisting it over her shoulder to sprint after Mary, tossing the body in an empty room as she ran.

“The hell was that?” Mary asked as she quickly approached the desired elevator, both hopping into the now open elevator/

“Just some fuck who nearly found us.”

“Ah, got ya. I'm surprised that we didn’t get seen by any of the Apex assho-”

“Hey! Stop right there!”

“Speak of the fucking devil.”

Nina muttered, hard pressing the floor that Thaf was being held on, closing the sliding metal doors in the approaching guard’s face.

“Fuck, guess we better get ready for that ass beating then.” Mary commented, pressing her back up against the side of the elevator, out of clear view of the exit as Nina did the same, Mary readying her bat as Nina readied her legs.

One cue, the doors opened, and an army of Apex guards was stationed outside the door, ready to try and seize the two intruders. Sadly for the guards, the girls were prepared, and when the first two guards made their way into the elevator, they got a face full of nails and metal, either being knocked out or having their skull smashed in. Mary and Nina made quick work of the two, leaping over the bodies to lunge at the others, nailing another with Mary’s bat and another two with two of Nina’s kicks.

Once Nina got her footing, she saw out of the corner of her eye one of the guards had a taser gun pointed right at her. Now usually the cracked out top hat could withstand a lot of pain, or anything that was thrown her way, but being tazed was not something you could just not ignore. So once the buzzing sound of the device rang out, Nina thought she was fucked, but Marcy came in clutch, intercepting the launched gun, the wires getting tangled on the nail portion of the bat, electrifying the nails. Luckily for Mary, the grip portion of the bat was covered in rubber, so the electricity would not affect Mary, but it did affect the guard once the gun portion was torn from their hand and the bat was smashed into their side. That sent the guard to the ground as Mary swung at another guard, also duel harming them with the sharp nails and electric shock.

“Damn! Upgrade time already?! Fuck yeah!” Mary shouted and Nina continued to kick and punch the shit out of the other guards. This fight continued for some time before the last guard succumbed to the crushing thighs of Nina, choking out one of the guards before simply moving her legs to quickly snap their neck. She would have crushed their head with her thighs like a watermelon, but she really did not want to explain to Thaf why she too was covered in blood like her girlfriend was.

“More is going to come soon, we have to find Thaf and get out of here.” Mary spoke, pulling the spike bat out of the last guard’s head, Nina nodding as she followed Mary to the holding cells of the floor.

Meanwhile, It was silent where Thaf was, laying on the makeshift bed that he had been on for the past days or so. He had been wracked with so much guilt over what happened to Hack, still blaming himself for all these actions. His past creation, his old friend was now being torn away from him, being malformed and abused right in front of him, to the point where Thaf could not even recognize Hack by this point. And this was all his fault, if he had not exploded that day at Hack, let words slip through that he should not have said, nor did he mean, just caught up in his own emotions that he was blind to the ones he was hurting. The one he was hurting was the one he had already broken beyond redemption even before being changed, and now he was gone. What was he going to do now?

His internal fighting was soon cut short by the sound of shouting and screaming coming from outside his single cell, his head peeking up from his bed as he turned to look at the door. The fuck was that?

That would be answered by the screams silencing for a bit, the sound of hurried footsteps approaching the door, muffled voices speaking back and forth with each other as Thaf quickly stood back up to his feet, not knowing if these were guards or someone else. Suddenly, the metal door started creaking and screeching as it was ripped from its hinges calmly from the familiar top hat female.

“There you are you fuck.”

“Nina?! The fuck are you doing here?!” Thaf exclaimed, then noticing as Mary pushed past her.

“Baby?!”

“Thaf!” Mary cried, dropping her bat in favor of squeezing her found boyfriend in her arms, almost trying to squeeze her love to near death.

“H-How did you guys manage to find me?!” Thaf asked, trying to signal to the cat girl to lighten up on her hug so he won't be crushed to death.

“We used Mary’s kaiju trackers to find you after a sudden spike in kaiju energy here after we deduced that the Omega Parts guys that contacted you were probably Apex in disguise.”

“Oh, and it was just all from a possibility?”

“Yeah, and it was Mary’s idea at first. She got EXTREMELY worried about you once you went radio silent for days.”

“Aww, and you broke into a high security facility for me?”

“Yes we did! And we’ll do it again stinky.” Mary replied, burying her face further into Thaf’s chest as he hugged back.

“Also, you wouldn't happen to know what that sudden Kaiju power would be would you?”

“Oh.. yeah, It’s Hack.”

Chapter 12: Preshow

Chapter Text

“What do you mean by It’s Hack?” Nina asked and Mary finally let go of her boyfriend, looking at him a bit confused at that vague statement.

“I mean, that spike in Kaiju activity WAS Hack. The Apex fucks managed to brainwash the fucker and change his code to add some other kaiju’s code.”

“Wait, how the fuck did they even manage to break him to even get into his own code? More or less brainwash him?” Mary asked, just as confused as Nina was, knowing full well how strong Hack’s protection of his own code was, especially with those who want to hurt him again.

“I wish I knew, It was while they were making him do shit, testing his powers and shit, he turned on the fuckers while I was there and nearly destroyed the observation deck where me and the director were in. They managed to restrain him before he blasted a laser through all of us and blasted a hole through the building instead. After that, he somehow calmed down and started crying, I don't know over what, but it was enough to get the Apex fuckers to connect to his head and wipe his head clean.”

“..So basically he became a bitch baby and is now a drone for Apex.”

“Yeah basically.” Thaf replied to Nina, Mary sighing at Nina’s rudeness to Hack.

“Still, now we have an even bigger issue. With Hack’s sudden new powers, and in the hands of Apex, he could very much be a problem for both the Kaijus, and us.”

“Then how the hell are we going to get him back?” Nina asked, looking between the two others.

“I had been dragged into watching Apex’s experiments with Hack, and it looked like the Director has a microphone that’s connected to Hack, giving him directions on how to attack and everything. So if we get that microphone, we can hopefully get Hack to listen to us.. If he’s still there that is.”

“He should be Thaf.” Mary replied, once again hugging her distraught boyfriend. “Hack’s not one to just give in that easily.”

“Yeah, Hack has to still be there somewhere!” Nina added in, taking steps towards Thaf to give her own physical reassurance with her rustling the man’s hair.

This short moment of emotion between the three of them was short lived as the sound of numerous footsteps approached the cell the three were in, so much for an emotional moment.

“Shit, It’s time to go!” Thaf spoke, the two girls let go of him as the three of them booked it out of the room, luckily the group of guards were coming from the opposite direction of the elevator so the lot of them could easily escape.

However, the elevator would be too close to the mob for the hats to escape in time before the doors could close. So halfway to their destination Nina stopped and looked over her shoulder to the incoming group, then back to the couple, turning to face the oncoming hoard.

“Nina! The fucking hell are you doing?!” Thaf yelled, stopping and turning around, Mary turned as well to see what the hold up was about.

“I’ll hold them off! We won't make it to the door in time with these assholes on our tail!”

“But you’ll get caught!”

“So what?! As long as you get to Hack and bring the bitch back, that’s all that matters! Now go!”

“But-”

“JUST FUCKING GO!” Nina yalled, glaring over her shoulder for a second, the couple freezing at Nina’s unbridled boldness, Mary tossing Nina her bat before turning to leave.

“At least use a weapon to beat their ass!” Mary yelled, grabbing Thaf’s arm as she dragged him down the hall and towards the lift. The sounds of pained screams, a hellish war cry, and the sounds of squishy and crunchy thwaks echoed through the halls as the two made it to the elevator.

Wasting no time in using Nina’s sacrifice to their advantage, buying them enough time to reach the elevator, Mary pushing the button to get to the top floor, only for nothing to happen.

“Why the fuck is this not moving?!” Mary asked, looking back to Thaf for any sort of answer.

“It’s a code, the top floor is locked behind a code!”

“Then what’s the code?!”

“Uhhhh-” Thaf hummed, now relying on his ungodly luck with guessing virtual safe codes and numbers on a real world life or death scenario now. He tried to think back to when the guards dragged him up to see Hack being tested on for the first time, trying to get a glance at the keypad before being told to look away.

“Try 3 2 5 1?”

Mary wasted no time punching the four digit code into the key pad, hoping that Thaf wasn’t fucking with her currently. Thankfully, he was not, and the elevator gave a confirming ding as the doors slid close, right as a mob of security guards rounded the corner to the lift.

Thaf and Mary had a moment of relief, nearly collapsing to the ground as their temporary safety was insured for the time being.

“Fucking hell. Hopefully Nina can hold her own.” Mary huffed in between ragged breaths.

“She will, I've seen her suplex Hack into the ground countless times on so many occasions.”

“Oh, yeah.” A pause for breath between the two as the elevator continued to fall to the desired floor.

“..I really hope we can bring Hack back. I said some, really fucked shit to him, and to think that all that shit was the catalyst for this hell shit.” Thaf spoke up, leaning against the side of the small moving space.

“I'm sure he’ll come back. Even if we have to brute force our way into his brain, we can get him back.” Mary comforted, looking up at her boyfriend with a exhausted yet heartfelt smile, Thaf returning the same gesture.

“Yeah. Hopefully. I have so much fucking apologizing to do.”

At then, the synthetic ring of the elevator rang out, signaling to the two that they had arrived at their destination, the doors opening as the two stood back to their feet, ready for whatever was going to come next.

Nothing, there was nothing waiting for them, no guards, just an empty hallway towards the main observation deck where Thaf witnessed his creation being torn apart from him. There was only one way to go from here, Mary and Thaf stepping outside the elevator and making their way down the corridor. It was finally time to get the virus back.

That was easier said than done however, Because when the two of them had brute forced the door open, they were met with the unfortunate sight of the director standing in front of the window, overlooking their stolen creation.

“So. You've finally made it huh?” The director spoke, turning around to the infuriated two, their grin still wide and sinister as a clique villain’s would be.

“I would have thought that the guards would have dragged you in here screaming by now, but you made it all the way here without being caught. Wish the same could be said with your busty doppelganger Thaf.”

“Shut your fucking mouth you prick. We're here to get Hack back, and stop this whole operation.” Thaf growled, taking a step forward with Mary as the director did not even budge.

“Oh? Stop this whole operation? You Silly, silly man, It’s already begun~!” Cooed the director, taking a step aside to show the two how they massacred their old pal.

“Introducing Mecha Hack!” The director introduced. Mary's eyes widening at the sight before her, her mouth agape at the unfamiliar beast in front of her, while Thaf struggled to try and not scream at the bastard that changed Hack for the worse.

What was in front of Thaf could only be described as a mechanical shell of his former corrupted AI. His body was covered in robotic green, grey, and black armor, the only portions that were not covered were his claws and head. At his shoulders rested round white lights that sparked with electricity just like his whit claws, sparks of green and whit electricity traveled around his body, ending up at other white light spots on his armor. Like his elbows, back, claw tipped feet, and even in the center of his chest, where a large round chest cavity sparked the most, strings of branching lights spread around his chest, forming a sort of cybernetic pattern. One of the most defining differences about the remade glitch was the wires that seemed to float behind him, suspended in air as they connected parts of his mechanic body to the rest. Sparking with that same electrical shock as power was transferred throughout the titan. Not even his face was safe from the reconstruction, his fangs that had been hidden behind smirking lips were now on full display, no lips to hide the elongated porcelain crushers, four of which were structured to even be his tusks. Luckily his hat was untouched by Apex, save for a few more rips and tears than what Thaf was used to seeing.

“This is from countless hours of non stop testing, perfecting the kaiju killer Apex had always wanted to create! And now we finally have it thanks to Thaf here for letting us create the thing in the first place.”

“YOU DIDN'T CREATE SHIT!” Thaf roared, taking a leap at the director, who swiftly avoided the lunge, Kicking Thaf for trying before he tried to get back up.

“Oh but we did! And now, we can finally finish what the kaijus started long ago.” the director replied, trotting over to the microphone on the command counter, kicking Mary as she too tried to attack him, knocker her back to her partner’s open arms.

“Mecha Hack, Activate.”

“A C T I V A T E D” The uncanny flat tone of the booming, the eyes of the kaiju flashing on, white flood light bright lights flooding into the operating room as the director gave his next orders.

“Mecha Hack, Travel to Destination One. You know what to do when he shows up.”

“UNDERSTOOD. ACTIVATING TRANSPORT NOW. KILL MODE ENGAGED” Spoke the robot, even more sparks launching from their body as the screen that was below then turned on, making the robot plummet into the white void underneath.
“What do you mean by Destination One? And who do you mean by him?” Thaf barked, helping a pissed off cat girl to her feet.

“Oh, I meant London, and Godzilla.”

“WHAT?!” Both yelled in unison, their previously enraged expressions soon dissolving into pure shock.

“Oh don't worry! Everyone has been evacuated from there, and Godzilla has been B-linging for Mecha Hack since we installed his new powers. Probably has to do with the Ghidorah code we injected into them.”

“GHIDORAH?! WHAT THE FUCK?!” Mary yelled, knowing full well the destructive power the deceased space dragon had. “Are you fucking insane?!”

“It was the only Kaiju DNA we had, it was MUCH easier to turn that into code for the giant Mech.”

“But do you have any idea what kind of destruction he could cause?! The amount of lives he could destroy with that power?!”

“That’s why we buried their old wants and desires behind obedience and our own needs, wanting to put humanity back at the top. Our dream finally came true after being dragged through the mud and debrie of failure.”

“And to possibly control the world as well.” Mary muttered, not knowing the director heard that.

“Hmmm, maybe.”

“Shit.”

“But enough with this chitter chatter.” The director replied, pressing a button on the command desk, a large screen monitor descended down from an open slot in the ceiling. It turned on to reveal a video of the glowing night of the city of London. A giant mosaic of combined screens acting as a portal for the incoming green mech, roaring it’s corrupted and mechanical roar as it spotted it’s target, the ruling king of Monsters, the radioactive lizard that roared back at Hack’s battle scream, Godzilla.

It was finally time for the final showdown.

Chapter 13: Final Battle

Chapter Text

An eruption of roars exploded from the two kaijus, the iconic ancient roar of the glowing blue reptile, and the corrupted screech of the brand new green beast. Godzilla slammed it’s giant tail on the ground as a display of dominance, the slam already creating a crater where a small building used to be in it’s simple thump. While Mecha Hack let their electricity spark out of control, shorting out any building or street light that was in its vicinity. The two scream at each other one more time as Mecha Hack takes the first swing, sprinting right at the giant lizard, leaving a train of destruction in their wake.

Despite the glitch having a speed advantage with their slightly thinner stature compared to the much thicker lizard, the reptile did have more battle experience compared to the sudden newcomer. So avoiding the incoming electrified punch was slightly easier, ducking out of the way to let Hack wallop the side of the skyscraper Godzilla was in front of, and allowing them to level the building in half, shorting out the power in the bottom half of the building as well.

The king took this moment to try and get his own attack on the mech, swinging their tail to either smack the bot on either side of their body, or trip them with said tail. That would not happen however, Instead of either moving or ducking away from the tail, the mech actually grabbed the incoming tail, using the momentum of the swing to follow through, dragging the beast with it. The sudden swing and strength of the mech caused the lizard to be dragged along with the tail and right into another skyscraper as Hack let go of the tail and sent Godzilla flying.

Even while being thrown into yet another building, the lizard king still had plenty of strength left to get back up, no small toss could keep the reptilian down, even as the mech started to release a barrage of rockets and missiles at the lizard. Usually missiles would not even hurt Godzilla, simply feeling like small tickles or pin pricks, but these packed a bit more of a punch than the usual military grade projectiles. Even as Godzilla got up, the much larger missiles made him stumble further backwards, nearly destroying a few buildings in his way, but plenty of Lamborghinis were destroyed.

Not like either of them cared though, Godzilla’s goal here was to rid his world of yet another world destroyer since this green one has a much higher power aura than the two kaijus that nearly had defeated him. Hack’s goal was to rid the world of kaijus like Godzilla, or at least that was the goal that Apex had ingrained in his new code. And by the looks of it now, it seems like Mecha Hack was achieving their goal faster than Godzilla was. Hack was now acting as the vessel for Apex’s dream, just their weapon to eliminate all the kaijus on this hellish earth, even if his previous consciousness refused to work for them.

Godzilla did not even have time to react this time, the barrage of rockets had distracted the king from the sudden blast of the beast’s rocket boots, and he definitely did not see the bright white light of the electrified fist coming straight for them. Unlike Kong where Hack sent them flying, the glitch kept their rocket boosts on, taking the lizard on a ride across London, tearing through buildings, skyscrapers, and even into the disgusting river that ran through the city.

Hack only let up when he was smacked to the side by the reptile’s strong tail, knocking them off course and into London’s Eye, or through the center, still taking down the giant wheel with them. As Hack untangled themselves from the broken metal of the expensive ring, this gave the giant lizard enough time to actually get up onto their stubby legs, being only feet deep in the canal, the whirring sound of Godzilla’s atomic breath alerted Hack to the next attack.

The glitch was ready for this however, once getting untangled, they readied their own laser, the sound of that new fixed PC’s fans whirring to life as the red pixelated laser was readied, waiting for when Godzilla would fire their laser to collide it with theirs. Once the blue radioactive laser left Godzilla’s scaled maw, so did the red pixelated laser from Hack’s green maw, both lasers colliding together in a symphony of organic warps and mechanical whirring. The two were in a laser induced stalemate, neither ray of pure power giving way to the other, the immense energy from the blasts kept the two still. That was until another command was given to the AI kaiju, the white lights around their body switching to a crimson red, even his eyes changed to the red as the glitch’s laser suddenly gained more power. The beam had so much power that not only did it eliminate Godzilla’s laser, but it also managed to blast right back into Godzilla's maw and body, pushing the king back across the river and right onto Buckingham Palace.

Now that seemed to keep the king down, the blast doing a number on the lizard as the red laser subsided, smoke seeping between the cracks in between the green beast’s serrated fangs, slowly making their way over to the king as the red lights on their body soon gave way to yellow. The second kaiju powers were now revealed to the radioactive reptile, the source of the final power burst coming in full form as the wires on the back of Hack’s back wires soon slithered and twisted together, forming those gigantic pairs of wings the old king used to have. Once the display was done, Hack sank their claws onto the fallen king as it gave a pained roar, left over wires wrapping themselves around both the king and Hack, constricting him like a constricting serpent. With little time for Godzilla to react, the electricity that ran throughout Hack made its way onto Godzilla’s body, electrocuting him as the giant wings took them up high into the night sky, beyond the clouds and cameras that were recording their battle. Even as they ascended, the remaining powers of Ghidorah came into play, the white claws sank deeper into the hardened scales of the lizard, red energy being rained from the king as they reached the atmosphere. The energy of the king kaiju was being drained from him, just like that legendary battle with the true three headed god, but now, an frankensteined version of them was defeating the king of monsters, even tossing their drained body back down to earth.

As Godzilla returned to earth, his body became a sort of meteorite, flames building up underneath him as they plummeted back towards London, making impact with Big Ben, and decimating the area around it. The impact alone was plenty enough to keep the blue lizard from getting up, the green beast had drained just enough of his energy to not kill him, but still left some to keep them awake for the final blow.

While this fight was going on, Thaf and Mary could only watch in absolute horror as they witnessed their old pal absolutely decimate the king of monsters. Hack was always one to boast about how they could easily defeat Godzilla in a fight, even showing them by defeating weakened virtual ones, but they were seeing and believing it now.

They did not even notice the director giving out small orders to change Hack’s track pattern, and started to turn and leave the vicinity.

“Well, that was fun. I think Mecha Hack has it all sorted out by now. Once they kill Godzilla and claim the new King of Monsters title to kill the rest of the kaiju vermin, there will be now stopping humanity’s climb back to the top!”

“...You sick FUCKING bastard.” Was all Thaf could choke out, seeing his friend being used as a mindless weapon for Apex’s own selfish gains, AND succeeding. It felt like any hard work he put into mending his trust and relationship with Hack had been thrown and flushed down the shitter.

“Oh come on now! Don't be like that! Once this is all over, you won't have anything to worry about. Maybe I can even incorporate your own mind and body into your friend as well, with your cat girlfriend as we-”

The director’s evil monologue was cut short by the sound of metal and bone colliding, his body being flung clean over to the other side of the room, crashing into the wall back first, out cold.

“Damn, does that fucker ever stop being annoying?”

“Nina?! You're okay!” Mary shouted, looking over to the bloodied and ragged top hat woman, her breathing ragged like she just got back from running a marathon.

“Yep, I'm okay! Fuckers gave me a bitch of a time, even tazed me once, but the bat Mary gave me saved my ass. Made a huge pile of bodies somewhere back there’ so it blocked even more guards from coming at me.”

“...How many guards did you manage to knock out-”

“Or kill” Mary butted in for a second.

“Fuck, lost count. But that’s not important now. Where the fuck is Hack?”

“He’s about to kill Godzilla!” Thaf spoke, pointing at the screen as Hack descended from the smoke filled sky, his now red eyes and lights being the only visible light through the fog.”

“Then how the fuck are we going to stop them? I don't think it’s going to listen to us since we aren't that director fuck, and I have no idea how to hack into the system and shut the system down from here.”

“...Wait. Nina, you still have my bat?” Mary asked, looking over at Nina as she held out the fully bloodied nail bat.

“Yep, but I don't think it’ll last many more swings.”

“Good enough for me.” Mary chimed, snagging the bat from Nina and walking over to what she assumed was the main control panel.

“Hey Thaf.”

“Yeah baby?”

“You know how when stuff you have breaks and you sometimes have to smack it?”

“Uhh, yeah?”

Without another word, Mary brought the nail bat down on the operating computer to Hack’s mainframe, again, and again, and again, till the computer was just a pile of destroyed computer parts.

“There! Fixed!”

Both hats just stood there in complete silence, not really knowing what to say at Mary’s brash moves.

“Well. That IS some way to fix it.”

“For sure.”

All three turned towards the screen, hoping to see the corrupted AI would soon go back to normal from that. However, there came another roadblock, as the fog cleared, all the team could see was Hack frozen in place, electrified fist raised in the air as another claw was gripping the fallen king’s throat.

Without a main code to keep the AI going, it had nothing else to tell it what to do. But wouldn't Hack himself still be in there somewhere? Didn't that Director asshole say something about Hack’s consciousness still being buried in his code somewhere? How was he going to do that?

“MAIN FRAME DELETED... BACKUP MAINFRAME FOUND... BACKUP MAINFRAME UNRESPONSIVE... SUPPORT REQUIRED.” The monotone voice of the old AI spoke.

“Back up? That must be Hack, the real Hack.” Mary said, looking around to see where they could find the support.

“But how are we going to get him back? What kind of support does a system need to make him responsive? Isn't what Hack wanted to be free from this?

“Yeah, I would have thought so. Then why isn't he coming out now? He has the perfect chance to get out no-”

“...I know.” Thaf blurted out, interrupting the two girl’s theory time, both watching with astonished eyes as Thaf made his way over to the microphone that was used to communicate with Hack.

“Hey, is this thing on, hellooooo?” Thaf opened, tapping on the microphone like he was tapping on the door to a pal’s house. “Heh, Hey Hack, it’s me, Thaf. You uh, did quite the number on Godzilla there huh? Nearly killed the fucker you did.”

“Get on with it!” Mary blurted out, Nina shushing her as Thaf sighed, knowing now that he had to finally apologize, for real.

“Joking aside. I don't know if you were in your room before I left but.” he paused, gathering his words once again before speaking once more.

“I wanted to tell you... I'm sorry. I’m sorry for losing my shit at you for the past few weeks, I said shit I really did not mean, and shit that was really out of pocket. I never meant for you to get hurt like this, I never meant to feel like you were a mistake. You were so much more than a mistake, even after everything I had done to you, how I left you, made you hate me, everything. I know that I can’t take back what I said those days, nor can I truly make up for it.”

Thaf paused, letting his true emotions for his roommate come out, trying his best to cover up his obviously downtrodden and tearful expression. all his regret and self hatred for his actions pouring out right here, right now. This was what he was truely, he was truly sorry.

“You were so much more than I could have ever thought of when I had first created you. I'm.. I'm proud of you. And I don't know if that will be enough, but I don't care anymore. I just want you to know that, I'm sorry, and I'm proud of you.”

Silence followed, thick silence as the team just stood there, Thaf’s feelings out on display not only for the corrupted AI, but for the two women as well, seeing how he really felt here, letting them see the pure regret he had held onto, what he had caused.

All that was left, was to hope Thaf’s sudden theory to bring back the old friend was true, and every second the silence lasted, only strained the theory thinner.

That was until the humanoid figure in the video started glitching, or at least the video footage did. The previously monstrous face had corrected itself to a more human-like face, their expression one of a mixture of relife, joy, and something around acceptance. Black streams of liquid fell from the being’s shadow-covered eyes, dripping onto the still fallen dinosaur. As the face of the figure changed, so did the voice through the loudspeakers, no longer that deadpan tone and emotionless line delivery, but once with absolute choked up happiness and joy, despite the still obvious corruption.

“That’s all I wanted to hear.”

Chapter 14: Recovery

Chapter Text

There only came a shriek of joy from the group, Mary and Nina being so happy with the reappearance of the old pal, Thaf nearly collapsing onto the desk in relief as the entity’s voice spoke back to them.

“Hack!”

“That’s all I've wanted to hear from you Thaf.” Hack remarked, letting go of the giant fainted reptile, bringing one of his metal arms up to wipe his black tar dripping eyes, knocking himself in the head with said metal arm by accident.

“Fucking hell, forgot that they put this shit on me.” Hack muttered before returning to the conversation beforehand. “I didn't expect you to actually say you're sorry for all of that. Honestly I thought you would have forgotten by now with how much you had going on. But you did, and everything else you said, that was something I've wanted to hear from you for fuck knows how long.”

“Probably since the incident.” Thaf responded, remembering back to when he had abandoned Hack in the old Thaf game. Probably waited for a long ass time to hear Thaf make some sort of condolence with him, even if it was to bring him back to help fix the mess that had been made by them.

“Around that time yeah.”

“Um,” Nina interrupted, walking a bit closer to where Thaf was standing, her voice still being heard from the microphone by Hack. “not to interrupt this emotional moment, but Godzilla is looking a little dead there.”

“Oh shit right!” Hack looked back at the still beast, his relief that was now replaced with dread, remembering the absolute smackdown he had given the old king monster. Placing a hand over his neck, Hack waited for a pulse, his synthetic blood running cold the longer he held his hand to Godzilla’s throat. Luckily for the kaiju, he did not have to hold it there for long, feeling a very weak pulse underneath his fingers he let out what breath he had held within his code.

“He’s still alive, but barely. I must have done a number on him huh?”

“Well you did more than a number on em, you nearly killed the guy Hack!” Mary remarked, also coming closer to the mic to Hack could hear them as well.

“...Right. But I don’t think they’re going to be getting up anytime soon. Taking kaiju energy away from, well, a kaiju is like taking it’s life source away, and that isn’t something that can be brought back easily.”

“Then how are we going to fix it? Wouldn’t that shit be able to recharge or something?” Nina asked.
“You would think so, but when I read through some of those Monarch files, I read that that kind of power takes around an eon or so to recharge back to full health normally. And last I read they used a nuke to recharge Godzilla back to his normal state. I highly doubt anyone has any codes to nuke here.”

“True. But what else can we do? We can't just give him his energy back.”

“...Maybe we can.”

“What?” The trio spoke at once.

“I remember seeing something on how kaijus can absorb other dead kaijus energy, so if-”

“So your going to fucking kill yourself?!” Mary retorted, sounding shocked, leaving the other hats to think the same.

“Wh-?! No no no NO! I'm not! What I was going to say was if I can somehow give Godzilla the powers I had gotten from the Mech version of him, and Ghidorah that Apex forced into me. It won't be the powers per say, but it will be the same energy.”

“Then if you give him those powers, you’ll lose them right.”

“Yep.”

“Won’t you want to keep those though? You can’t just up and recreate those powers from scrap like you had done with your old powers, more or less to that extreme.”

Hack paused, thinking over what Thaf had just said. It was true, once he gave the energy back to the lizard reptile he would lose most, if not all these amazing powers, no longer being able to beef with those kaijus like he did with Godzilla and Kong. On the other hand, if he kept those powers and let Godzilla’s body just lie here to return to the earth, he would get the title of King of Monsters and have to deal with any threat that came to earth. After today, Hack did not want anything to do with dealing with any real world monsters for a while, defeating Godzilla was enough for one lifetime.

So, he went with the former of the two.

“I don’t. Like all old jokes, you have to let them die at one point. And I think it’s time for this joke to die out now.” Hack replied, stepping away from the beast as he searched through his internal structure to find any sort of function that would allow him to transfer his powers. Luckily he found something, but it would need approval from the ones in the operation station. Looks like the Apex fuckers had messed with a bit more of his origin code than he thought.

Even when the kaiju’s old pc system was smashed to bits, there still came a very glitchy and broken voice through the speakers.

“P-P-P-POW-POWER SHARE A-A-ACC-TIVATED. AAAAALLOW P-P-P-POWER TRRRRRRRRRRANSSSSFER-R-R-R?”

“...Are you SURE you want to do this Hack. There's no going back from this.”

“I'm sure Thaf. Now allow it.”

“...Alright. Allow power transfer.”

Once Thaf gave the a-okay, the broken machine not even having its security system in place as it triggered the power share ability within Hack. The numerous lights of the armor flashed brighter than it had before, yellow and red lights interchanging between white as the sound of the started pc cooling system started up again. The circuitry markings appeared all around Hack’s armor, from his feet to his eyes as his mouth opened up, red and white lights slowly forming at the back of his throat as he was ready to release the not deadly laser on the king.

Once the laser was ready, a swirling beam of yellow and red was unleashed, a final cry from the fallen king roared at the ray hit, expecting this to be the final blow, except the red and yellow encompassed all of the beast. The lights of Hack’s armon slowly started to dim as the final remains of the power was transferred over to the old king, once the lights had fully gone out is when the laser fizzed back out into nothing but smoke, leaving Hack to close his maw again.

The added bonus of losing the powers, Hack’s wires and armor had even come loose, the sound of hissing hinges opened, releasing Hack from his prison as the armon fell to the ground with a titanic clang. Everything would be fine, Hack would be standing tall as he watched the king of monsters slowly rise back to his own feet, but everything suddenly felt so floaty to him. Like not only was the physical weight of the armor lifted off of his shoulders, but so was his energy that took a huge nose dive into nothing. He had a difficult time standing his ground, wobbling a bit on his feet as he had fallen to his knees, not being able to stand anymore.

“Hack? Hack are you okay? The fuck is happening?”

“I-... I may have given him a bit too much energy than I thought.” Hack slurred, his voice cracking from the lack of energy.

“Fuck. Fuck, and Godzilla is up, do you think he’s-”

“I hope not.” Mary tried to comfort Thaf, all watching with bated breath as the reptile stared down the exhausted giant man.

It was once again a still time, Godzilla having yet another stare down with Hack as the said kneeling man, staring back into Godzilla’s monstrous ones with his dimming white eyes. Everyone thought that Godzilla was going to blast a rad laser back at Hack as revenge for Hack nearly killing him, something reasonable that anyone that would have been close to death to do to their attacker. However, Godzilla was not such a beast, he seemed to understand the situation before him, the previously aggressive and more hideous looking opponent was not just a tired, defeated, giant human creature that was now lacking that threatening energy he had sensed not too long ago. So there was no need to waste his new found energy on something too trivial, nor someone who was going to return the attack again. So with a disgruntled look, and somewhat of a nod, Godzilla turned and left for the ocean, through the wreckage of the city to leave the exhausted savior behind.

The operating room crew might as well pass out from the amount of relief they had experienced again, not having to witness Hack being disintegrated by that same lizard he nearly killed. However, their troubles were not over just yet, Hack was still looking a bit worse for wear, still swaying, even on his knees as he let out a couple of exhausted giggles.

“Hehe, fucker. Glad he didn't up and kill me now hehe.”

“Hack, are you good?”

“Y-Yeah I am. I just need a nap.”

“Well dont nap now dumb ass! If you do, you won't have enough energy to even wake back up!”

“Oh, right.”

“I think the screens you came out of are still on, try and get your ass in there before you actually pass out.”

“Aight big man.” Hack weakly replied, slowly pushing himself up from his knees to his feet, nearly falling as he did so, his body glitching even more than it usually would, his energy depleted to the point he could barely keep his own form in one piece. Even the cameras started to wig out, the screens all cutting to either no signal or static as Hack’s form had fully disappeared as he dragged his exhausted body towards the portal.

“Hack, Hack! HACK!” Thaf screamed into the mic, all the team got in return was the sound of deafening whitenoise, everyone covering their ears as the static screamed on before slowly fading out.

“Is Hack okay?” Asked Mary, looking back to the screens as the snow of static slowly faded out, showing the decimated city of London, lacking the giant green kaiju that was there just a bit ago.

“...I hope so.”

Chapter Text

As the static that had once filled the screen vanished, and Hack’s form was no longer there. The two hats and cat woman simply stood there, staring out at the now empty destroyed city, the rush of panic and adrenaline now slowly dissipating as the weight of what just happened just hit them like a truck.

London was destroyed, and most possibly their home, and who knew how long this would take for the government, or hell, anyone, in this case to fix this destruction. Seeing from how long Hong Kong was taking to rebuild themselves, this reformation could be for much longer. That was not something the hats were ready for at all, more or less having to readjust their living conditions and living style to this new destroyed world

Who was to blame for this destruction? Would it be Hack? The very giant being that had used the kaiju king as a battering ram to destroy their home and city. However, it was not himself who demolished everything, his mind had been hijacked by a lesser power that managed to sink their claws into his brain when he was at his weakest. They managed to brainwash him into a mindless beast to carry out their bidding, to cause destruction and fear into those who opposed them in their quest to reclaim their throne at the top of the food chain. So Hack was not to blame, not after his sacrifice of his own acquired powers that he had tried to use to protect himself with. This only left one culprit of the ruins of London.
THE DIRECTOR

The bastard who not only managed to manipulate Hack into a war machine, but kidnap Thaf himself as a sort of bargaining token to entrap Hack in their devious plan. That was a low blow, even lower when he decided to beat the shit out of the top hats as well, even Mary. He was the one to blame, the one to let out their now steaming anger, the one that was responsible for everything.

A soft groan came from across the room, the pitiful body of the fallen director slowly rising as he pushed himself up from the carpeted ground. One arm shakily pushed him up, while the other hand held over the throbbing pain to the side of his face where Nina swung and hit him with her borrowed bat. Everything was blurry to him, all he remembered was cornering both the hat wearing one and the cat girl as his creation started to destroy the old king of monsters, his Apex dream coming true. And then, something hard and cold hit his head, and now he was here, on the floor, wondering if his creation won.

That last statement would be quickly answered as he notices shadows starting to loom over him, his head slowly turning towards the three pissed off figures towering above him, all glaring daggers into his very being. The top hat man, the space cat girl holding a taser, and the female top hat who was brandishing the same bat that knocked him out before.

“Get up.”

“Wha-”

“I said, GET THE FUCK UP!” The middle top hat growled, causing the once cocky director to follow those orders immediately, his limbs scrambling underneath him as he pulled himself up to his feet in startled attention.

“Oooh heeey Thaf~ How did-”

“Shut it cunt.” Thaf growled, shutting the man right up. “I don't want to hear anything else out of you, especially after the shit you pulled with Hack.”

“B-But what happened to-”

“Hack didn't do shit, that much, he did manage to nearly knock down Godzilla for a bit, but he gave what power you injected into him back into him to get back up. He gave up all the shit HE worked for, and the shit you forced into him so that Godzilla could live, so that you could fail.” Nina chimed in, tapping the bat threateningly in her free hand, keeping him pinned with fear in front of them.

“And he’s gone now, he went back into the screen, away from the destroyed wreckage that YOU caused.”

“Me?! What do you-”

“Oh cut that shit!” Mary shouted, jabbing her now active taser at the man, being mere inches away from actually tasing him. “You were the ones that brainwashed Hack into a mindless sack of shit, you were the ones who forced him to battle that giant lizard to the death, you were the ones that caused them to destroy London! Not Hack!”

“And you're not getting away from this one, not this time.” Thaf retorted and Nina stepped forward, Bat to one side as the Director stepped back.

“W-What are you planning on doing with me?” He squeaked as Nina grabbed the back of his jacket and shirt with her vice-like grip, dragging him back towards the group.
“Relax, we aren't going to rinse you. We are going to bring you to the authorities though, I don't think you would be better off dead, you would be better behind bars, and paying off your debt to London.” Thaf respond as Nina rejoined the group, Mary placing a hand on Nina and leaning against Thaf as she beamed them all back up into her spaceship, the pitiful shrieks of the director fading with them.

As soon as they made a touchdown in Mary’s ship, and the Director was properly tied up, they dropped him off at what was the remainder of the headquarters of the United Kingdom’s government. Leaving a note on what this man was responsible for on his person as if they were the new spiderman of this universe. They did not want to spend anymore time with Apex, they had done what they needed to do, leaving that terrorist organization in the proper authority’s hands as they returned to their own life.

Or what was left of it.

Luckily for the hats, as they and Mary returned to their house, they were thankful to find their part of the neighborhood still intact. Despite the debris of the battle being thrown everywhere around their house, even in other homes around them, their house still stood out amongst the rubble. On the inside however, things were a mess, looking like an earthquake had just hit their house square on, any hanging picture frames they had on the walls had fallen onto the floor. Along with anything that was on a not secure surface, either had fallen onto the ground below, or shattered on said ground.

It was a mess for sure, the crew realizing they were not yet done with their aftermath clean up just yet, their own home being a mess as well. An even worse realization came to Thaf, causing his breath to hitch slightly as his body froze up from his blood running cold.

“Thaf, are you okay baby?”

“...The babies.”

“Fuck.” Mary muttered as Thaf bolted for his studio, the last known location of his beloved plushie babies.

If the house had looked like this with the aftermath, god knows where the plushies were now. He knew he and Hack taught the baby plushies how to hide from any possible danger that would arrive, and even in some cases, being a guard dog if someone were to break in, but kaiju attacks were not something he thought he would have to train them for.
As Thaf arrived at his studio, his heart dropped as he saw the new state of his room, just the same as the rest of the house, only with any shelves that were nailed to the wall having fallen down, trashing the floor, and his set up. He scanned the entire room, looking for any signs of the plushies, even his fallen wardrobe looked worrying, maybe they got crushed underneath it? He knew plushies would bounce back given more fluffing and some TLC, but he did not want them to be crushed still. So using the strength he had gotten from countless workouts, he lifted the wardrobe a bit, just before Nina and Mary entered his trashed studio.

“Help me lift this!”

The two girls did not need to be asked twice, immediately rushing over to help Thaf out, pushing the makeshift closet back up against the wall. Just as soon as they pushed it up, a large pile of fallen clothes fell out of the opening doors of the clothes holder, as well as the startled plushies. Plopping right into the pile as they looked around terrified at what was happening only to notice who had just saved them from their fallen safe haven. Each baby lunging to cling onto one of the giants, Ninaplush clinging onto Nina, Thaf plush, despite being the most cursed out of the three, clung to Mary, and Hackplush clinging to Thaf.

“Oh thank fuck you lot are okay. Are you hurt in any way?” Thaf replied, gently grabbing onto the trembling baby as he pulled them off his chest, looking over the trembling tiny Hack. Thankfully no injuries were found on any of them, simply being just startled and possibly scared from the whole ordeal, just wanting to be held for a bit to calm down.

Hackplush looked around the room, noticing the strange lack of green in the room, turning his head back towards Thaf, they tapped his chest with one of their tiny limbs, catching his attention.

“Yeah buddy?”

The plushie made gestures with their body, pointing around the busted monitor, then around the room, then to themselves as they tilted their head, wanting to know where their real father was.

“Oh, Hack...I honestly don't know.”

That was true, Thaf and the others had no idea where Hack had gone after the battle, he possibly passed back out into the cyberspace he owned, seeing how high he acted after giving up so much power to resurrect Godzilla. Did he even make it back to his world? Or did he just straight up disappear from the lack of energy?

No, don't think like that Thaf, Hack was his own being, his own person, he would be fine, he’s a grown ass virus. It was good to keep him in your thoughts, but he could take care of himself after nearly killing himself again.

Thaf hoped.

For the following week, Mary and Nina would help Thaf clean up the house after the whole battle, sweeping up broken glass, pieces of old merch and home décor, even trying to reset up his old set up after some shit fell on it and ruined the table top.

Not to mention now having to deal with the new wave of unwanted attention from the new coverage of the newest kaiju battle, with Hack’s face being all over the news, and anyone being slightly familiar with Hack, his fan base was in fucking flames. His friends and mods doing their best to quelea the uproar in confusion, excitement, and ungodly amounts of questions. Even the media was starting to follow him around, questioning him on his involvement in the attack, despite him already giving his public statement about the ordeal and how he had nothing to do with the attack, how Apex was just using a character of his as a gross smear campaign against him. Luckily the media seemed to take that as face value and shifted their attention to Apex instead, having heard the director of the organization had been arrested and was being charged with a life long prison sentence with a life long amount of debt.

So thaf did his best to get back into the swing of things, using that week, or two, to take a very needed break from streaming, simply focusing on trying to get himself back together after everything had happened. Only, the one thing that held him back from truly relaxing after getting everything else currently squared away and swept under the rug was the very obvious missing green man. It has been over two weeks since he’s been MIA, and Thaf was getting extremely worried, he tried sending out a calling signal to call him back to his PC once his set up was fixed, but nothing. He tried again a few days later, still nothing.

Again, nothing.

Again, nothing.

Again…

Nothing.

Thaf was starting to feel that knot tighten in his gut. Did Hack truly perish from that battle? Did he really give up after all of that? After everything that bastard had done, it wasn't enough? After all that work to mend their relationship with each other, finally finding it within himself to actually apologise to him, to finally make a step in the right direction to doing something right in his life, was it all for nothing?

His head started to spin, no, no this can't be. Please for the love of god this can’t-

“Hey Thaf.” A voice called from the hallway, a green glow accompanying it as it passed by the doorway.

“Hey Hack.” Thaf replied without thinking for a few seconds.

...WAIT.

“HACK?!” Thaf yelled, jumping up from his gaming chair as he darted out the door, stopping the large green beast in the middle of the hallway.

“Uh, yeah Thaf, what is it?” Hack replied nonchalantly, like he had not just disappeared for over two weeks.

“WHERE THE FUCK WERE YOU?! HOW- HUH?!” Thaf called out, grabbing onto Hack’s free arm, since his other claw was holding onto a cuddling Hack plush who had just seen their father return.

“I was just out cold for a while, fuckin passed out right when I was passing into my world. Didn't realize how much energy I gave the big bitch before it was too late heh.” Hack replied, petting Hack plush with the thumb of his claw.

“How long do you think you were out?!”

“Uhhhh. A few days?”

“It’s been two whole bloody weeks!”

“...Oh.”

Thaf only gave an irritated sigh, letting Hack’s arm go as the green glitched turned to look at his smaller counterpart. At Least the fucker wasn’t dead, that was a good thing at least, so nothing went to waste.

“And you may be happy to know I got a job!”

“... You what?” Thaf croaked, the first news in a while to genuinely surprise him.

“Yep! The big wigs found out how to contact me and said if I help them rebuild London, they would give me, you and Nina, a shit ton of money, and some possible immunity from the law for a bit.”

“Wh- How?”

“I'm going to be doing a lot of heavy lifting is the thing, they are having the old engineers from Apex building new equipment to build big pieces of buildings and have me put them together once they are made.

“Like a giant building block tower?”

“In a way.”

Thaf could not help but snicker at the thought of a giant Hack building towers with blocks like a toddler would with those old wooden toy blocks, like an overgrown toddler in a massive sandbox, hilarious.

“I'm honestly just glad to have you back, Hack.” Thaf replied, patting the giant’s arm as he moved past him to get some food in the kitchen, leaving Hack to watch him pass by, grinning a bit.

“Glad to hear that.”

Notes:

Whelp! back by popular demand, here the rewritten ending to the Kaiju fic! Wanted to write something more than just senseless carnage as an ending.

Thank Thaf for this ending! Thank ya for giving me criticism on the original ending, really helped me write something I'm ALOT more proud of!

Chapter Text

It had been almost half a month since the whole Apex and Godzilla incident, the city of London had already started to rebuild London, just like Hong Kong was with their city. Only with London, they had to rethink on how they were going to rebuild their city from the ground up, along with the demolished Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, and all the other sight seeing places. Usually, it would be the fault of the organization or person to take the fall for the aftermath of the battle, and both Apex and Thaf were about to get the short end of the stick with fines. However, since Thaf, Nina, Mary, and some members of Apex that had enough of their director’s bull shit. So now with Apex using all of their funds and work to now help rebuild London with what little help the government gave as punishment for their terrorism again.

For Thaf and the gang, it was just another day, their house being miraculously spared by the kaiju onslaught that had happened not that long ago. Thaf was working on another main channel video, Nina was doing whatever Nina does, possibly lounging around the house with nothing else to do besides just that, while Mary was in her spaceship chilling. No one had heard from Hack in a long time, ever since he presumably passed out in the cybervoid after the battle with Godzilla and he has not shown his face since, not even when a calling signal has been sent out. So to the hats, he could possibly be dead for all they know, but being stuck in a stage of denial the trio simply decided to stick with their guts and wait for the giant green man to return home. If the virus can manage to take down an overgrown, radioactive, lizard, survive countless code restructures, and fuck knows what else, he can easily get some of his lost energy back.

So as Nina was watching some television, not really paying attention to what was on screen, her mind wandered off into her own world of entertainment, barely even noticing when the channel changed. Even though she was not truly watching what was on screen, she could not help but sigh in annoyance, lovely snatching the remote backup to switch back to the mind numbing channel she was on before. Only for the channel to change right back, this only annoyed the female top hat further, switching the channel back, once again the channel switched again. Thus a vigorous channel switching war started between Nina and whoever, or whatever, was constantly changing the channels. This war went on longer than Nina would have hopped, giving up halfway and letting the channel stay on that desired channel, ready to cuss out whoever was trying to prank her with the old changing channels trick.

Though that anger was short lived as she witnessed the TV still switching channels. The usual small blips of either people’s voices, soundless, or music that would sound whenever you were channel surfing started to merge together like a slurry of horrid, dying, musical instruments. The video feed no longer showed small screen caps of live action, animation, or ads, but now just a morphed monstrosity of static and images. All accompanied by the silhouette of a person’s face, and a top hat as it pushed its inky self out of the screen, it’s monstrous sized body crawled on its arms first as it pulled the rest of it’s dripping black self along with it. Nina could not see it’s full size until it stood up, it’s head almost touching the ceiling as a pair of two white orbs appeared on its face, no doubt staring down at the smaller top hat wearing individual. There would have been a cry or scream for help as Nina was about to jump back, but the quick reflexes of the beast quickly stopped that from happening. A clawed hand swiftly covering her mouth as its face came dangerously close to Nina’s, it’s white eyes nearly blinding the woman as she struggled against the vice like grip of the creature.

She thought she was for sure going to die right here, right now, in her own house without the other hat knowing what was happening to her, even her kicks were doing jack shit to the thing’s body. Whelp, looks like this is the consequences of her actions finally catching up with her, she knew she could not outrun them forever, she just never knew it would be by some inky black demon thing.

Or at least that was what she thought, as the creature's true colors started to show as it bright it’s other hand up to it’s white fanged grin, making a shushing sound as the black ooze dripped off of them. Once all the goo was off the creature and had disappeared into the carpeted ground, not even leaving a stain, Nina would see the true culprit behind the scare. White clawed hands that held her mouth close, a familiar, torn, black and neon green striped shirt that had a shit eating grinning face that only the hats would love.

“HHhK?!”

“Shhh! Thaf can't know I'm here now!” Hack whisper yelled, letting go of Nina’s surprised face.

“Why? You haven't been around here in almost a month, not even when we called. Why do you not want Thaf to know? And what the hell were you just now?!” Nina matches Hack’s hushed yelling.

“That was just a catalyst for when I passed out in the void. My body didn't have enough energy to hold itself together, so it formed a sort of cast around itself when I was asleep so I didn't just become just a conscious again.” Hack informed, his posture relaxing a bit as he continued.

“And, I'm still fucking pissed at what Apex did to me, and to Thaf, using him as a pawn to get me, fucking low blow there. I'm wanting to get back at them for that, and I know that if Thaf finds out he’s going to lose it on me.”

“And how exactly are you going to get back at them?”

“Well, let’s just say the place is going to be a sort of blood bath once I'm done with it. But seeing how Apex had roped you and Mary into saving me and Thaf’s ass, I thought that you may want to be in on this.”

“Wait, really?” Nina asked, her face switching from annoyed to confused in a few seconds, Hack immediately regretting asking her, probably not the best person to ask if they wanted to go commit genocide against a terrorist organization.

“Y-Yes really! But if you don't wanna do it than just-”

“I'm fucking in! The hell are you talking about?” Nina nearly shouted, just happy to be doing something else than just lounging around doing nothing but losing what braincells she had left.

“Oh good.” Hack sighed, happy to be having someone along for the ride here, to share in the upcoming carnage.

“So, do you need any weapons or anything? I can easily make you something in my space.”

“Nah, I'm good, I still have the metal toe shoes Mary gave me, and those kicked ass just fine.” Nina informed, kicking one of her feet up so Hack coils still the slightly blood stained boots.

“I see, well, we’re going to go get Mary as well. I bet she wants to get back at Apex as well for fucking with Thaf.”

“I would think so, plus she’s one for violence when it’s called for.” Nina replied, following Hack over to the screen as he started to step in, not even offering Nina a hand as he just straight up snatched her arm as he was halfway through the screen, pulling her in along with him.

Nina had never seen the inside of the interwebs before, besides being stuck in his game that one time, and she had no idea what she expected, probably not to be this empty and black. Holding onto Hack as he zipped through the void with her, she spotted in different colored networks and spots she would assume were screens and connections in just quick glances. Though those colors did not interest her, since where Hack was going was a more star filled space, a pink and purple colored one, Mary’s network, and all she could do was float back and watch Hack do his magic.

Mary on the other side of the screen was just looking through messages, on her own discord server, at DMs with pals, and even the mistake of twitter DMs. She had been brain dead as well, her most recent stream had taken a lot of energy out of her, and now that her energy was recharged, she had nothing to do with that energy. Since Thaf was radio silent while working on his new video, everyone else was busy doing their own thing, and the world is still fucked over from that same kaiju fight she had a hand in, there was nothing really to do. That was the thought process through scrolling, until her screen started to fizz out, static and video blacking out as she took her headphones off from the sudden burst of static again.

“What the fuck?!” Mary yelped, taking a look at her corrupting computer, looking around to any of her other set ups to see if any of those got corrupted as well. Luckily, none of them did, only her personal one was started to fuck up, which was strange to her, why of all computers did this one manage to get corrupted? Was it something she downloaded?

That would soon be answered as a pair of giant white claws broke through the barrier just as Mary turned back around, snatching her shoulders as she was pulled into the screen with a terrified scream. The only soul who saw Mary get abducted was the small Mary bot that just sat and watched everything happen on the desk, waving goodbye as Mary was yanked into the screen.

Mary was going straight up panicking by this point, she has not been kidnapped through a screen before like that, not since- wait.

“Hack?!”

“Heh, hey Mary.”

“You stinky asshole! You could have just said hi and not just. Grab me like that.”

“Yeah, I could have, but I wouldn't have gotten to see your reaction!”

Mary huffed at Hack’s bullying, god this fucker was annoying, even if he was gone for a few weeks, she did miss the guy, even if she did not want to admit it.

That was when Mary noticed Nina, her pissed off expression now changed to both happy surprise, not expecting Nina to be here. Something must be up for both of these hats to be here in one place without trying to fight each other.

“So, why did you drag me in here?”

“Well, as I told Nina, I'm still pissed off at Apex for. You know, dragging Thaf into trying to brainwashing. And since I made a promise that I would make them regret that decision. And I'm not wanting JUST their failure of a brainwash to be the only thing they regret, ooohhh faaar from that. I want there to be fucking blood shed. And I got Nina to join me on that, and now I want you to join us by beating in some Apex ass.”

Well, Mary had never thought of Hack to be the overly violent type, or at least to the point of wanting to make someone bleed for any sort of reason. Although, seeing how Apex had basically changed him into a literal personal weapon against his will, it is fair for Hack to want to murder those Apex assholes.

“Oh fuck yeah! I'm ready for any violence against those fucks! They fucked with my baby so I’ma fuck them up back!”

“That’s the fucking spirit!” Hack cackled, loving the new murderous energy that had been made in this group now.

Now it was time to create the weapons before breaking into the remainder of the Apex network. Nina was headstrong in wanting to keep to her legs for attacking, but both Mary and Hack had talked her into at least carrying a sort of cybernetic sword with her, just incase. Mary of course chose the nailed bat again, this time upgraded from wood to metal, with the nails being infused into the bat, and having that same electrical current, courtesy of Hack. While Hack just went with his own claws, electric powers, fangs, strength, and a “special” surprise once they found the Director.

So once the group was all set, and holding onto Hack, they took off for the now vulnerable Apex network, ready to finally kill their escaped prey.

The green glitched search through the screens of the surveillance cameras around the still bustling, looking around for any points where the team could enter from. Luckily there was one, and it was stationed right behind a guard that just so happened to be looking away from the camera monitoring screens, a perfect striking opportunity. It was not like the crew was looking to do any of this attack stealthily, they wanted to send a message, one clear as ever.

DONT FUCK WITH THE TOPHATS

So without a warning, Mary leapt out of the screen, her form emerging from the glitching screen, bat drawn back over her head before swinging it down on top of the poor man’s head, nails digging into their brain as the force snapped their skull open. With a satisfying crack of their neck, they went limp, nearly pulling Mary’s bat with them as she pushed herself away from the body, her bat coming out with a squelch. She was about to shout to the others to come on through to get the party started, but the sight of a shocked second guard at the door entrance caught her attention.

“Nothing personal man, just having some fun!” Mary spoke, sprinting up to the still guard, just to bash their head into the door behind them with their bat, brain chunks and red liquid splattering all over the door, pinning his corpse to the now broken threshold.

Soon the other two accomplices of the cat girl emerged from the screen, first Nina, then the slightly taller Hack, both of which looked ready for violence.

“Lets fuck these fuckers up!” Hack roared as Mary kicked down the door to reveal even more fresh meat, some were ready to battle the incoming trio, while most were still surprised.

No one would be ready for Nina’s sword as it sliced right through a member of the Apex crew, severing spine from head, and flesh from neck, just absolutely decapitating the human. Mary was up next, Nina kicking another person over so Mary could smash that person with her nailed bat, swinging it up once more to hit another who tried to come and stupidly help the man she just murdered. While Hack on the other hand was already ahead, diving over the two as he landed square on top of another person, his weight crushing the human underneath as he snagged two other humans in his claws.

“Hey stinky bitch! Pass one over here!” Mary yelled, readying her bat again, right over her shoulder like a batter ready to swing. Hack gave into her request, pulling the squirming human in his right hand back before launching them forward and towards Mary. The cat girl smacked the human’s back with the bat, nails digging into his back as the impact shattered the spine , leaving the body to join the others on the ground.

The human in the glitch’s other claws simply succumbed to the intense grip strength of the hand, their head exploding in a cascade of reds and pinks cascaded from the white claws, their body going slack as Hack dropped them unceremoniously to the ground.

With that small team quickly dispatched of, the killing crew quickly made their way forward and towards the next victims, the team making their way into the elevator. Even though the three of them just wanted to cause as much chaos and bloodshed as possible, Hack had a more ulterior motive to this whole endeavor. He wanted to find that damn director, he had a special in mind that he wanted to give to the fucker, hot and filled with revenge.

That motive only spurred Hack on further with this killing spree, even getting a lot more volatile with his attacks. Like with this new group of Apex employees, more than the last, Nina and Mary were dealing with their own humans, Hack was having a field day with his own batch. Hack had already bitten into one of the employee’s necks, his fangs pretty much tearing out their throat like a hungry animal. His claws had torn through another torso, the internal organs of that person trailing along behind his claws as he tore them out. Not to mention the poor lad under his foot, their chest being caved in as pressure was slowly applied, only exploding as Hack lifted his foot up to cave the concave lung cage further.

Usually Mary and Nina would be focused on their own killings, with Mary using a body as a piñata, and Nina crushing a guy’s head in between their thighs like a watermelon. But seeing how Hack’s mouth was starting to emit smoke, and his body was starting to glitch again, they could not just ignore the ever growing rage.

“Heeey Hack-”

“WHAT?” His voice echoed, very much corrupted more than usual as his head made a one eighty turn to grin even more at the now frightened girls.

“Uhh, Are you good?”

“YES, PEACH-E-FUCKIN’-KEEN!~” Hack cackled, digging his claws deeper into the handful of guts he had clutched in his fists, crimson liquid oozing from the soft tissue like a paint filled sponge. He was probably liking this a bit too much, and it was probably best for the girls to not push further with Hack’s current murderous intentions.

So as Hack now led the team forward, through numerous hallways with guards to be easily slain by the trio, mostly Hack, they were about to reach their destination, a sealed off door with an army of guards placed in front, the Director’s operator room.

“Fuck, there's a lot of them. Do you think we can take them all?”

“Seeing how we just massacred countless other drones, I can think s-”

The two woman’s conversation was cut short by the Hellish screech that came from Hack as he straight up bulldozed into the crowd of shrieking humans, tossing them every which way upon impact. His claws and fangs went into full animal mode as he swung around at the attacking crowd, disemboweling some, slicing through the throats of others. All the while as some tried to climb onto the creature to choke him out, or stab into his titanous body, they were met with their heads being bitten off by the very creature, or just crushed against the walls and ground of the blood stained establishment.

“...Or Hack’s got 'em. Come on,” Nina replied through the various shouts and screams of the Apex victims, as well as Hack’s mental laughter.

Stepping over some mangled corpses, Nina and Mary made it to the doorway, using a ID badge from one of the guards to access the locked off room, sliding in as the sound of the massacre was cut off by the sliding doors.

Both girls scanned the room, all, if not, most of the tables that had held the computers that had controlled Hack before were now all stacked and turned around, much like a fort to protect a terrified king. That king was no other than the bastard director who had caused the thrio so much hell just before, and was now hiding behind the veil of safety by the flimsy desks that Mary had easily knocked down with her bat. At his cover being blown, the director shrieked several octaves higher than his usual vocal range, trying his best to scoot away by the looming threats.

“L-Look, maybe we can come to an agreement here! We can-”

“Zip It.” Growled Mary, her ears pinned back as her tail twitched behind her, slamming her bat down beside the director, pinning him into the corner of the room.

“There is NOTHING you can offer that is going to make up for using my stinky as bait to lure the bad stinky into working for your terrorist ass.” Mary growled, her cat-like pupils constricting on the disgusting excuse for a human being.

“B-But-”

“She said CAN IT!” Nina yelled back, slamming on the director’s chest with her steel toed boots, knocking whatever wind was stuck in his lungs.

“P-Please don't hurt me” The director whimpered out, flinching as the two’s serious expressions shifted into laughter.

“Oh, we aren't going to hurt you.”

“But a little friend of ours is,” Nina spoke just as the metal doors to the room started to metallically screech open. Two blood stained claws prying the sealed door open as he ducked his way inside, grinning all too widely at the petrified director, who was probably shitting himself right now.

“And I REALLY want to have a chat with YOU director~!” Hack chimed, stomping closer. The director tried to make a break for it, but Nina’s foot stayed in place until Hack’s giant meaty hand grasped the man’s entire head.

“So, what are you planning on doing with him?” Mary asked, picking up her bat and somewhat gently tapping the struggling human.

“Oh, I do have a plan alright for him. Just watch out there.” Hack directed, pointing out to the empty holding cell he used to be tested in before making his way over to an open computer, first shoving the director in, then following after.

The two, though still confused, did what Hack asked, walking over to the windows of the observation deck. Nothing happened for a solid few minutes, thinking that Hack probably had fucked off to somewhere else to have fun with the director. The girls were about to cuss Hack out for leaving them, until the giant screen had turned on, the now kaiju sized version of Hack crawling out of the corrupting screen, a small struggling human in one fist.

“Ironic isn’t it? Being fucking destroyed by the very being you tried to fuck up.” Hack’s voice boomed, surprisingly not deafening the small human as he switched from holding him in his fist, to just holding him by one leg with his claws.

“And like I promised, if you had ever brought Thaf into this, then I would destroy you, and everything you worked for. And since everything you worked for is destroyed-” the green beast spoke, bringing the shaking person closer to his face, the bright white lights of his eyes nearly blinding the director.

“It only leaves you.”

“Bye!” Hack chimed, letting his arm drop some as he tossed the director up into the air, through the still present hole in the ceiling of the building complex.

As the director passed several blood stained floors, he was flipped to look back underneath him as he fell. Seeing the green beast’s grinning mouth slowly separate, showing the jet black insides and neon green tongue behind the pearly white daggers. At first he thought that the kaiju was going to just up and eat him like a tossed chip. As the closer he fell, the slow brrring of a high power PC, and the familiar white glow at the back of the creature’s throat grew brighter every foot he dropped. He could not even say “Oh Shit-'' before the pin point laser ripped through his body, before being disintegrated by the much thicker, pixelated laser that shot out after.

It was not even a second after the laser was fired before the laser was gone yet again, the mouth of the beast closing yet again as it looked back to the jaw dropped ladies. His grin returned as he dropped back through the portal to return to the others back in the control center room, regular sized this time.

“Hack, how the FUCK did you manage that?! I thought you lost all your kaiju powers?!”

“Well, not all of them per say, I still managed to keep that one” Hack responded, chuckling at Mary's still confused expression.

“... I think we had enough for today. I think we killed almost all of the remaining Apex employees here.”

“And if not, then they will probably just die later.”

“Ture.” Hack responded, moving back over to the operating computer, letting the ladies slide in first before him, leaving the wreckage of their fun stress relief day behind for someone else to clean up.

Once all had been said and done, when the team had finally made it back to the hats house, Nina, Mary, and Hack all emerged from the Television, Hack pushing Mary first, then Nina so Hack could get out last. They left their weapons in the void of the interwebs so that they did not track too much blood into the house, no need to make more of a mess than they already were.

All of them looked ragged, Mary’s jacket was blood stained from the countless bodies she had smashed in, even some blood getting smeared onto her glasses. Nina was somewhat worse for wear, her clothes also being blood stained, surprisingly around her thigh area from how many heads she crushed between her thighs. Hack, he was the worst out of the bunch, his form may not even resemble a human anymore, everywhere around him was covered in crimson liquid, from his claws, feet, to even his mouth, fangs and all. It was a surprise with how much action Hack had that his hat was somehow unscathed, save for the couple of splatters here and there.

Despite looking like they had just escaped from a slaughterhouse, they were all laughing and giggling to each other.

“Damn that was fun!”

“And honestly stress relieving too, wish we could do that more often without, you know, all the blood and guts everywhere.”

“Yeah, maybe I can-”

Hack was interrupted at the sight of a very disheveled Thafnine, as he was getting a cup of choccy milk, looking like he just crawled out of his room after countless hours of editing, which he did.

And at this point, seeing the group just crawl out of the TV, covered in red, dried liquid, Thaf only had one thing to say.

“...What The Fuck?”
