"It has been too long, friend."
There was no response, but he wasn't expecting one. She had never answered him. How could she, when she was even more of a hollow shell than he was?
He sighed, letting himself sit a little more hunched over than he normally would. "I made a mistake. I should not have sent-" He caught himself, paused, thought for a moment. "No, I should not have trusted Saix to take charge." After all, it had been Saix who chose to send Zexion, and it had been Axel, Isa's most trusted friend before they lost their hearts, who had killed Zexion.
And yet...
"I can't eliminate Saix" he thought out loud. "Axel, perhaps, but not before Roxas wakes up..." He sighed again. "It is all so complicated."
Now that he could no longer trust Saix, he was unsure whether he could trust anyone. Where did everyone's loyalty truly lie?
"I suppose, at this point, you are the only person I can trust."
Perhaps it was fitting that the one who considered himself hollow could only trust the one who truly was hollow. He caught himself smirking at the irony and frowned. Which memory did that emotion originate from? He couldn't tell.
"There is still so much I must do" he mused. "It may be a long time before I can visit you again."
He had time. He could stay a little longer.
Everything else could wait.
