Freddie bent lower, a wide smile on his face with no concern for his unsightly overbite showing. Of course, the recipient of his radiant smile cared little for aesthetics. He was currently drooling onto his bib, his tiny, puffy pink lips forming a perfect, surprised 'oh' and his big clear-blue eyes round and alert as he looked around the room.
"Mmh," Freddie hummed in agreement, craddling Felix between his hands gently. The infant's head and back rested on his fingers and palms and the baby's little bottom was propped up on Freddie's knees. "There are an awful lot of people rushing around, aren't there."
Felix gave an adorable little sigh and kicked his chubby legs, trying to turn his heavy head to see more of what was going on around him. He was, of course, still too young to sit up, but he seemed to quite enjoy this reclined, quasi-sedentary perspective which gave him a bit of a view of the dressing room.
"They're getting ready for the show, you know," Freddie explained quite seriously, "making sure..." He glanced up at Ratty, who hurried past with a canister of fluid for the smoke machine. "Making sure your dear daddy can't see a damned thing for at least ten minutes of the set," he smirked and turned to Felix again, who looked back at him and broke into a dimply, toothless smile - then he suddenly squeezed his eyes shut and sneezed, once, twice, and three times, his small hands balling into fists and his arms and legs contracting each time. It was heart-wrenchingly adorable, Freddie thought.
"Oh, my goodness, bless you! Bless you, dear," he chuckled. "You're absolutely right, the smoke makes my nose tickle, too."
As though to demonstrate, Freddie leaned closer and scrunched up his nose.
"A-goo," said Felix and raised a small, unsteady hand, lightly smacking Freddie's nose with it before he managed to close his fingers around the tip of it.
"Mmh, nose. Yes," Freddie informed him helpfully, giving it an indicative wiggle. Felix's fingers slipped off and closed around Freddie's moustache instead. Freddie felt a surprisingly firm tug. "Moush-tache, oh-" he mumbled, pulling away a little, "careful there, darling, I'm rather fond of it."
Felix made a small giggly noise and gave him a grin that was Roger's through and through.
"Oh, you like it?" Freddie asked. He wiggled his nose again and his upper lip with it.
The baby giggled a little louder, and Freddie repeated the moustache-wiggle a fear times, coaxing more laughter out of the infant. "You're the best audience I could ask for, my dear," he told him and opened his eyes comically wide, blowing up his upper lip.
Felix gave a loud, delighted cackle that shook his whole little body and made Freddie laugh, too.
"Ahh," he sighed, "you make a very good point, darling. I do need to have it trimmed."
