Chapter Text
There is a small kingdom tucked away amongst the mountains of the Himalayas known to very few. It’s the land of dreams filled with almost every creature you can think of. Where the waters of the rivers are so clear you can easily see all the habitants that call it home. It’s small population lives in harmony with everyone and is ruled by the Rajah and Rani, who overlook the safety of its people and make sure to keep the kingdom protected.
Amongst the habitants, there's (Y/N). A beautiful fairy that lives alone in a small cottage with her small cat, on the edge of the forest in the small village with other fairies. Fairies are in charge of transporting the food, collecting it from the farmers to other villagers in the kingdom.
You grabbed your neo pearl champagne dress that matches your wings.
“Bye baby. I’ll be back soon.” You bid goodbye to your cat and headed towards the headquarters where all fairies reported to work and grabbed their orders and headed out to their destinations.
“(Y/N)!!” You hear the fairy godmother call out your name from her office, the head of the fairies who oversees all the transportation and also the wellbeing of all her people.
“Yes fairy godmother?”
She was pacing the office frantically. “We’re missing two oranges and five apples and there is no salmon in this order!”
“Well, I’m sure we have some spare in the storage room.” You calmly reassure her. You were very well-known for your calm demeanour especially under pressure.
“That’s the thing! Someone raided the storage last night. Every order is missing one or two things. This is bad this is bad this is bad-” You put a hand on her shoulder to stop her pacing and smiled at her kindly.
“Don’t worry. Move some things around and make sure the priority orders are complete and I’ll go investigate the storage room.” You suggest. She thanks you as you get ready to head out.
You enter the office after some deliveries to let the fairy godmother know that the orders arrived safely. However, you are greeted with the sight of a fairy sitting on a chair in the fairy godmother's office sobbing into her hands as her wings flutter uncontrollably while the fairy godmother is trying to console her. She catches your eye and grabs your arm.
“Did you have any trouble?” She asks you, you shake your head. She points to the poor fairy. “Ryujin got attacked by something when coming back from her order last night and that monster almost bit her wings, she barely escaped.”
You look back at Ryujin and notice her left wing is slightly broken from the middle and her right ring is folded. You rush out and go get the first aid kit and mend the folded wing as well as you can.
“I think you need to go see a doctor for this.” You say looking at her left wing with concern. You help her get up and she slowly limps there with fairy godmother.
You head to the storage room to inspect it. The double doors are lying on the floor detached from the wall. The lights are still on since last night but most of the produce has been destroyed. All the fruit boxes toppled all over the floor and most of the apples and oranges on the floor have bite marks on them. You do some more exploring and notice one section was left untouched. Most of the green vegetables are intact.
Slowly you start to clean up the mess. You move the vegetable boxes and behind them notice a figure. You stop moving and can see that the creature is sleeping soundly as its figure rises and falls. You slowly approach it and poke it and it stirs. You gasp, it's a man. What on earth could a human man be doing sleeping here? Surely a human could not cause this much damage in one night or even eat so much. His white shirt is shredded in most places showing large patches of skin.
“Hey, wake up.” You slowly shake him. You can’t help but notice how cute he looks sleeping. There's a mole under his left eye and his soft plump lips are pouted. You shake him again and he wakes up with a jolt. His face is filled with fear upon seeing you.
His midnight coloured irises take your breath away. You didn’t expect him to be so handsome. You quickly cleared your throat.
“I’m sorry, I swear I didn't mean to. I… I lost control last night. I don't remember what happened. Please, I'm sorry don’t tell the rajah.” He starts to plead, tears threatening to spill from his pretty eyes as he holds onto your wrists.
“It’s okay. I won’t tell anyone. Don’t worry.” You quickly try to calm him down as he continues to cry and shake.
You sigh and pull him closer and embrace him reassuringly that it’s okay. Fairies have healing powers and being around them usually calms humans. It clearly has an effect on him as he stops shaking and relaxes in your hold. After a few minutes, you are ready to pull away but his hold on you strengthens.
“What’s your name?” You ask. He rests his head on your shoulder.
“Jeno. Yours?”
“I’m (Y/N), nice to meet you Jeno. That’s a very nice name.”
“So what are you doing here, Jeno?” His body stiffens against you as he remains quiet.
“If I tell you, you’ll just report me.” You can feel him pouting. You shake your head. “I… I got hungry.”
“I can see that but I also know no human can eat so much in a single night.” You say and he finally pulls away from you but still holds onto your hands. His eyes are now covered by his long mane that reaches up to his shoulder.
“You have nice hands. They’re soft.” His thumb rubs on the back of your hand. You feel your face get hotter and blush.
“Nice try but don’t change the subject.” Your voice fails you and cracks. He finally looks at you moving the hair away from his eyes.
“I’m not a human. I’m… a werewolf.” You can’t help but to gasp.
“That’s…” You try to remain calm as an uncomfortable silence fills the air.
“So you don’t like broccoli huh?” You finally ask.
Jeno looks up at you in shock and frowns at you. He definitely didn’t expect you to take it so well. Most people would be screaming or running away from him by now.
“Yeah, I hate vegetables.” He grins, the shape of his eyes turning into crescent moons making your heart flutter.
You reach out your hand and he grabs it and sees an apple in it.
“Eat up.” You encourage him.
Soon, the last rays of sunshine start to become visible on the peach sky. You hadn’t even noticed you had spent all day with Jeno. You get up and stretch your arms out.
“Your wings are so pretty.” Jeno blurts out mesmerised by the wings. You giggle at his compliment trying to hide the blush creeping up on your face.
“Where are you staying?” You ask Jeno.
“In the forest, caves. Whatever I can find.” You pity him.
“Why don’t you stay at mine for the night?” He looks up at you with a twinkle in his eyes.
“Really? You mean it?”
“Sure, as long as you don’t bite off my wings.” You shrug as you head towards your cottage.
“Why would I do that?” He looks confused. He really must have no memory of what he must have done whilst in his werewolf form.
You reach your home and are greeted by your black cat who jumps on you and rubs himself against your cheek.
“Hey cutie, missed me?” You scratch behind his ears, his favourite part. The cat’s attention turns towards Jeno and he jumps on him. He cradles the cat in his arm and you can’t help feel soft watching the two playing.
You let Jeno go ahead and freshen up first whilst you decide to make arrangements for the night. He looked like he needed it more than you.
He finally steps up in the living room and you barely recognise him. His face is clean of any dirt, hair washed and you suspect he used your scissors to give himself a trim in the bathroom. He looks at you unsure of his appearance and you flash him a thumbs up. Suddenly there’s a knock on the door.
