Chapter Text
With a sigh of relief Jane made her way out of the throne room of the Lords and slumped against the wall of her usual shadowy alcove. Man today was busy, a total of 40 souls going down to hell while her coworker Pyro, a mute angel of death she sees from time to time, took 30 more up to heaven ontop of that it was fucking 3 am. How in the world could this be considered noon down here?!
Jane sat on the warm ground and leaned against the black brimstone wall closing her eyes. She was exhausted, maybe some shut eye while the lords were busy sorting wouldn't be such a bad thing. . .
After about an hour of shut eye Jane was awoken by the boom of the throne room door as it opened. Seems that the lords had finished their sorting work. Jane stretched as she got to her feet, watching the different lords of Hell lead their damned souls to their rings. Jane had been a reaper for almost a month now and in that time she had become surprisingly close to the lord of Wrath. . . Now she and Lord Axel weren't friends by any means. Ever since he found out she was part of the archangel species Lord would bicker and make little jabs at her while in his presence always asking questions, trying to trick her into giving away heaven’s secrets but what could she expect? He was the reason she was in this mess whether he knew it or not.
Once she saw Lord exit the throne room she fell into step behind the damned souls like she had done since the first time she came down here. She mostly stuck to the shadows but she noticed almost right away that the Lord had picked up on her presence but he seemed more concerned about it, always glancing over his shoulder. Jane narrowed her eyes in curiosity as she noticed his unusual behavior. Why was Lord so on edge?
She watched as Axel lead the souls to Tavish looking surprised to see the commanding demon before giving him a gentle nod and starting to head back to his manor. Jane scratched the bottom of her beak at this, usually Lord would go for a walk around his ring before coming home. . . Why was today different? Oh well it's probably nothing too major, might as well say hi to Dell while she was here. Jane followed Lord Axel into the manor with a small smile on her face, she could tell today was going to be exciting.
