Chapter Text

In the monster world, there was a barrier. Only the souls of 7 could truly break it. The barrier was broken by one lone human, a child known as Frisk.
Legend has it that no one truly knows how it ended. Perhaps Frisk found a family for once. Perhaps they made it out, at the cost of several monsters. Or, perhaps they simply walked away. No lives lost, no lives saved.
However, another human has entered the monster realm.
A young girl, around 17, laid unconscious in a dimly lit cave. Her hair was fluffy and pink, almost making her look like she wore a wig made of cotton candy. Her jeans were a dark blue with a few holes and spots of bleach around the thigh area, with red sandals and a pink varsity jacket to match. Pillars surrounded the one spot of sunlight that shone through the hole in the ceiling. The walls around her were damp and glimmering, as if they were made of rare gems. The dripping water and the cool breeze were the only things heard as the girl woke up.
“Ugh… My head… Where… Where am I..? Who am I..?” While she was certainly still alive, the girl knew nothing about herself. The only clue she had was a name, stitched onto the inside of her jacket. “Nora.”
As Nora got to her feet, the scent of sunflowers filled the air as she heard something else. The sound of footsteps, getting louder as suddenly, a woman stepped into the light. She wore a purple dress with a strange symbol on it, and had the appearance of a goat, only more human looking.
“Hello, child. Are you lost?” The woman asked, her gentle voice comforting Nora as she nodded gently.
“Y-yes ma’am.. I woke up here… And I don’t know where I am..” Nora responded back, shaking a bit as she was still suffering from the shock of the rough landing she had.
“Well, allow me to help. I am Toriel, by the way.” She said as she smiled and gently grabbed Nora’s hand, leading her out of the cave and into a hallway, pillars and shiny white walls surrounding the two while a waterfall streamed into a small pond. “What is your name, my child?”
Nora looked at Toriel, then her jacket then back at Toriel as she replied with the only name she could think of.
“My name is Nora.”
