Chapter Text
That bitch
Childe thought to himself for the hundredth time this entire day, his life was going pretty smoothly up until a few hours ago.
Attending one of the best universities in Teyvat, living in a nice apartment with a great roommate since she was never there but all of that changed. Childe didn’t know the reason Signora stopped coming to the apartment was because she ran off with some rich guy who will pay for everything for her except the apartment!
Childe was served eviction notices and now was sitting on a park bench late at night with nowhere to go.
He couldn’t go back home, that meant he have to drop out of school and lose his scholarships. Childe didn’t even have enough money for an apartment since as a parting gift Signora drained the bank account. Something to learn from this is never make a joint bank account with your roommate.
Childe felt utterly miserable, he was essentially broke and homeless!
“That bitch! If I ever see her again-”
“Someone please! Help me!”
Childe stopped his yelling when he heard someone calling out, grabbing his bag Childe followed the sound and he came across a comical sight. There was a lady in a tree while a small stray dog was barking at her.
“Please someone! Get that dog to go away!”
Childe looked at the dog, he stepped over and gently shooed it away. The dog stopped barking and ran off, that was easy.
Childe helped the woman down from the tree and she fell into the park bench with a big sigh. Now Childe got a better look at her, she had long flowing hair that was a dusty brown, a blue flower pinned in it. She had blue eyes as well but a much deeper shade than his own. She also was very beautiful and young looking, probably only a couple years older than him.
“Thank you for coming to my aid, I didn’t know what to do about that dog.”
“It’s alright, not everyone likes them.”
“Yes well it’s been a long time since I’ve come back to Liyue Harbor, twenty years in fact.”
Childe’s eyes widened a little, to be away from home for so long.
“In fact Morax must be furious with me.” She chuckled, bringing a hand to her mouth.
‘Morax? Is that her husband?’ Childe thought to himself.
“So why are you out here late at night?”
Chidle flinched at the question, he shouldn’t trouble this woman with his woes but it all came pouring out. When he was done Childe hung his head in defeat.
“I see, that is wrong of your roommate to do that, I’m sorry.”
Childe’s head sprang up. “Oh you don’t need to apologize, it’s not your fault.”
“I can give you my home if you like.”
Childe went quiet.
“You are far more worthy of that home than I.” Childe was still speechless and frozen when the woman came closer and gently placed a kiss on his forehead. It felt different than a normal kiss, leaving a tingly feeling. Childe still was stunned as a paper was slipped into his hand and the woman was walking away.
“Take good care of everyone for me. You’ll be their new Lord and Master.” And just like that she was gone.
Childe stood there holding the paper, he looked down and saw a map drawn on it. Did she really just give him her house?
“Well...what do I have to lose?” It beats sleeping on a park bench.
Though when Childe arrived at the destination he was greeted to a run down shrine.
“I’ve been scammed! What kind of messed up bullshit is this?!” Childe yelled as he threw the paper down, about to stomp back down the stairs that led up to the shrine when he heard a voice.
“Lady Guizhong?”
Childe froze hearing the voice coming from nowhere. “Lady Guizhong!”
Another voice, this one sounding more male than the other feminine one.
“You have finally returned to the shrine!”
“Welcome back Lady Guizhong!”
“What?” Childe looked around before seemingly the entire surrounding area was engulfed in strange looking flames!
Childe yelled out as he ran backwards and then hit the wall of the shrine, the doors caved in behind him and Childe fell into the shrine. Groaning from the fall he looked around the dimly lit shrine and saw three pairs of glowing yellow eyes.
“You finally returned.” The voice was deep and struck Childe to the core. “Twenty years seems like a long time wouldn’t you agree Guizhong?”
The figure talking came more into the light and Childe sucked in a breath, the man was tall with long brown hair tipped amber, his eyes were of the same shade and were those….horns?
“You witch! How dare you leave us alone all this time!” The man yelled his voice shaking the shrine.
Childe fell back and just screamed putting up his hands to protect himself from this man when he finally stopped.
“What a shame, this isn’t Lady Guizhong.”
“What?!” Two voices said in unison.
The other two figures came out and Childe saw they looked like young adults, they were much shorter than the man. Both had blonde hair, one had longer hair that was braided while the other had a short pixie cut but she had longer strands of hair framing her face.
“This has to be Lady Guizhong.” The male said.
“Right, look.” The girl came over, kneeled down and nudged Childe’s head. “As you can see the mark of the Dust Goddess is right here on the forehead where it should be.”
“And I sensed Lady Guizhong’s spiritual energy!” The male said.
Childe just laid there still stunned, the taller man loomed over him, he didn’t have a nice expression on his face.
“Yet this is not him. Now then, child.”
Childe snapped out of it, sitting up and looked to the taller man who took a seat while the shorter blondes stood at each of his sides, it was a rather intimidating image.
“Who are you?”
Childe kept his cool for all but a few seconds before it dawned on him. “Supernatural things are everywhere I’m in a yaksha shrine!!”
The taller man pulled out a fan from his sleeve, one of the shorter adults, Childe figured they must be twins disappeared then reappeared and handed the paper with directions on it to the taller man.
“Look master Morax.”
“Indeed this is Guizhong’s handwriting.”
Guizhong must be the name of the woman he met earlier and let him stay at her home, Childe spoke up suddenly getting the other’s attention. “She said since I had nowhere else to go I could stay here.”
Internally Childe was freaking out at how handsome Morax was, this Guizhong was a lucky lady, that is if the two were actually married like he assumed.
Morax’s eyes met Childe’s and they again were filled with ire. He started to fan himself rather fast, clearly annoyed.
“Just so you know the lady you met was the Goddess of Dust. This shrine is her home and the fact she sent you as the new lord and master could only mean he left you to be the Goddess of Dust in her place!”
Childe was quiet, Goddess of Dust?
“Oh what a happy day!” The girl suddenly said, she had some flowers in her hands offering them to Childe.
“The Dust God has finally returned to the shrine.” Her twin spoke up, he was tossing what looked like flower petals everywhere.
“We must prepare a feast for this occasion at once!” The girl said while bringing a plate of universal peace in front of Childe.
“Enjoy Lord God of Dust.”
“Wait, hold on!” Childe yelled as he pushed the two gently away from him. Now that it was quiet Childe looked between the two. “So wait, you said that I was a Dust God right? But I’m Tartaglia, codenamed Childe, just a normal college student. I mean how and why did I become a god?”
“Tis simple!” Both said in unison.
Both then pointed to Childe’s forehead and the girl explained. “It all happened the moment you received this mark on your forehead.”
“I have a mark? Really?” Then Childe suddenly remembered how Guizhong kissed his forehead before she left, which must be how he got the mark.
“You call this a god?” Morax suddenly said, he then got close to Childe getting in his face as he held it with his thumb and pointer finger. Childe noticed he had sharp claws. “What could a pathetic thing like him even do? At most he could weed the yard or count the mora offerings. Unacceptable!”
Morax wretched himself away from Childe shouting more while the twins tried to reason with him.
“But this lord was referred to by Lady Guizhong herself.”
“I care not! Throw him out.”
Childe was getting really sick and tired of this pompous bastard! “Excuse me! You’re being awfully high and mighty! And rude to me for no reason!” Childe getting more in Morax’s face while he hid behind his fan. “I bet a rundown shrine like this doesn’t even get mora offerings!”
“You couldn’t pay me to do it!” Childe loudly exclaimed.
That got a reaction out of Morax but Childe was too busy getting more frustrated over the situation while the twins were trying to calm him down. This noise was starting to grate on Morax’s nerves.
“If you intend to give that creature a place here I shall leave this shrine.”
That got the twins attention as they ran over to Morax. “Master Morax!”
Suddenly it got darker in the shrine as thick smoke clouded around Morax. “I am Guizhong’s familiar. I don’t intend to serve anyone else. If you would like, get a stray cat to step in as my replacement.”
Childe saw that Morax was serious and suddenly ran forward. “Wait don’t go-” But the man was gone in a puff of yellow smoke.
It was dead quiet in the shrine, only Childe and the twins remained. Childe groaned sadly that Morax left but what else could he do. Childe turned to the twins and sagged in defeat.
“I guess you guys couldn’t put me up for the night?”
Both got down on their knees and happily said. “We are glad to!”
Childe slowly began to wake up, suddenly he sat up.
“Oh wow what a weird dream! Signora left with all my money and I got kicked out. Then I met this pretty lady and she kissed my forehead and gave me her house which she was actually a Dust Goddess and the shrine was filled with weird people like scary Morax and twins. Yeah weird.”
Childe sighed but he looked around and noticed he wasn’t in his bedroom back at the apartment. Then there kneeling near his futon were the twins from last night’s ‘dream.’
“Good morning Lord of Dust.”
Childe just jolted, so it wasn’t all a dream.
“And now Lord of Dust.” The girl said.
“It’s time to get to it.” The boy followed up.
“....get to what?”
“Your duties as a God of Dust!” Both said in unison.
After that Childe found himself sweeping the entire area around the shrine, then followed by wiping down the shrine and then some to keep evil spirits away. Next there was yardwork which included raking up the fallen leaves, then weeding the flowers. Childe loved housework as much as anyone could but this was ridiculous!
“Is this what a god does?”
Childe fell to his knees in front of the twins, he snapped his head. “I don’t remember agreeing to be this Dust God.”
That didn’t get a positive reaction as the twins recoiled in fear holding each other. “What are you saying?” Both said at the same time.
“Since Master Morax has left us you’re the only one that can protect this place. With us!”
“Lumine.” The girl piped up.
“And Aether.” The boy followed.
“We are here to protect the shrine and support you, Lord Childe.” Both then took kneeling poses. “So don’t hesitate to ask us anything.”
Anything?
Well there was one thing Childe was very curious about, he scooted closer to the two. “You know, I’ve been wondering. About that Morax guy.”
“Oh, Morax is a familiar that served Lady Guizhong.” Lumine answered.
“Famaliar?” Childe blinked confused.
“No, familiar,” Aether corrected. “He was originally a wild dragon but was brought on to serve and protect, usually these duties are filled out by a lion dog.”
“But Lady Guizhong is not a fan of dogs.” Lumine replied.
Childe remembered how she was in a tree trying to get away from one.
Later Childe was weeding the garden, pulling out weeds still wearing the apron and white scarf on his head. “I guess this is fair for having a place and not paying rent.” Childe sighed out pulling another weed but this one had some thorny spines on it nicking his finger, Childe pulled it away with a flinch.
“So you don’t even know how to properly weed, what a useless human.”
Childe tensed hearing that familiar deep voice, he looked over his shoulder and there was Morax, standing there all haughty, hiding a smirk with his fan.
Childe turned away in a huff. “What do you want? I thought you left already?”
“You will never fulfill the duties of a God, why don’t you head back home before admitting defeat.” Morax sounded rather smug, it honestly tired Childe out.
“Because I don’t have a home to head back to, thanks to my roommate bailing and taking all my money I was kicked out.”
It was silent between them, only the sound of the wind.
WHACK
“Not my problem.” Morax whacked Childe on the head with his fan but before Childe could take a swing at him the man was gone.
“...what was that about?”
Finally after all the chores Childe fell to the floor exhausted, they may call him a god or whatever but Childe was thinking they were just saying that to take advantage of him.
Dear god…
Childe sat up, he suddenly heard a voice! Looking around Childe noticed an older woman praying at the shrine, he could see her through the window.
I’m here to pray for my daughter, please allow her to give birth to a happy child
“What...I can hear her?”
Childe watched as the older woman finished her praying, standing up and with a departing bow left the shrine. “I just heard her thoughts.”
“Indeed you did!” Lumine chimed in suddenly appearing with her twin.
“What you heard was the prayer from the heart of the worshiper, a part of a god’s duty is to sit in the shrine and listen to the prayers from those of dust.” Aether explained.
“Come Lord Childe, you must attend to your next duty.” Lumine proclaimed as the twins brought forth dozens and dozens of journals stacking them high next to him. “We need you to look through these.”
“What are these?”
“A record of all our worshiper’s prayers from the last twenty years my lord.” Aether said.
“Twenty years?!”
“Master Morax has been writing them down all this time.” Lumine chimed in.
Childe grabbed the top journal and began reading but again it was in Liyuense which he couldn’t read all that well yet.
“The plan was for Lady Guizhong to look at them when she returned, though with her absence we have seen a decline in visitors to the shrine but thanks to Master Morax taking good care of the shrine we still have the occasional worshiper as you saw earlier.” Both Lumine and Aether explained speaking as one.
Childe looked up from the journal and watched both of the twins bow at his knees.
“We realized we asked you to do a lot of work today, normally Master Morax takes care of the shrine all on his own.”
Childe took a moment to look around and see how the shrine was in amazing condition. Childe also saw that Morax’s writing is so neat and precise. Each account was so detailed judging by how many words were for each prayer.
Childe heard another prayer, looking out the window seeing a young man. Wishing for the good health of his sick mother.
Suddenly Childe remembers his harsh words to Morax, saying how a rundown shrine like this didn’t get offerings. What a horrid and wrong thing for him to say.
“So do you finally understand your duties Master Childe?” Aether and Lumine excitedly asked.
Childe was quiet for a moment till he finally answered. “Yeah I got it,” Turning to look at the twins. “He’s right, there’s no way I can be a god.”
That was not what the twins wanted to hear. “What?!”
“I’m just a normal guy, it’s not like I have powers or anything.”
It was dead quiet between them all until both twins fainted back in utter defeat.
“However…”
Both twins sat up and crawled close to Childe looking up at him with hopeful eyes. “However?” Both said in unison.
“I would like to speak to him, Lord Morax. Clearly some of the things I assumed weren’t entirely true. I’d appreciate it if you could take me to see him.”
Both twins’ faces fell as they looked at each other.
“Unfortunately we fear Master Morax has gone to the world over yonder.”
Childe didn’t like the sound of that and by how ominous both twins said that at the same time sent a shiver down his spine. “World over...yonder?”
The twins explained to Childe as they ventured there that the world over yonder is a land between the living and supernatural realm and a place that humans get lost in if they stare too long into dark places which are entrances to the world.
Childe was overwhelmed with this new discovery though when they got to where they needed to be it looked like a traditional red light district.
“This is it?”
“Yes, the world of the yokai, demon and yaksha kind.”
The twins started to call out for Morax looking around everywhere followed by Childe. They arrived at a building called the Pearl Gallery, one of the few signs in the universal language of Teyvat.
“Master Morax?” Aether yelled once inside.
“Quiet you two are making a scene.”
The twins heard Morax and ran in the direction pulling back the sliding screen. “Master Morax are you in here?”
Indeed the dragon was in the room and he was accompanied by two kitsune’s. The lovely fox ladies kept him company while he enjoyed some osmanthus wine. “You wanted something?”
Both twins had shocked faces as they cried out his name. Both got right up in his face which he turned away with a huff.
“How deplorable! You are a familiar to a god!” Lumine cried out.
“Already drinking in the middle of the day!”
Both grabbed on his arms trying to pull him away, Lumine demanding he change from the more open casual robes he was wearing to the proper ones suited of a familiar. But Aether really was the one who did it, calling the kitsunes harlots. The ladies didn’t appreciate that and ripped the twins off of their client to toss them out despite the two struggling. All the while Morax casually sips more of his drink. The kitsunes demanded the twins leave, which Morax agreed.
“But Lord Childe is waiting for us back at the shrine!”
“Childe needs you to be his familiar!”
“Do you not care if the shrine goes to ruin!?”
“No, I do not care in the slightest. Good riddance if you ask me, I no longer have to be a familiar, a tedious job that was.” Morax laid back down amongst the soft pillows. “From now on I shall live each day as I please.”
“But…Master Morax, Lord Childe wished to see you, that is why he came over with us.”
Childe was standing in the doorway with a cold hard stare on his face, having heard the entire exchange between the dragon and the twins.
“What?” Morax looked over his shoulder and was startled to see the red-haired human there. Wearing such an awful expression on his face, Morax never saw a human look this mad at him before.
“I do regret coming though.” Childe finally spoke. “You're disgusting, I don’t understand how you can just abandon that shrine like it was nothing. You’re so selfish!” Childe finished, stewing in anger as he kept that hard judging stare on Morax, finally he turned away leaving.
“Goodbye.”
Before the twins could go after him Morax got up in their faces, clearly angry.
“Why did you bring him!”
“He insisted we cannot deny him!” Lumine cried out almost in tears from this whole mess of a situation.
“I don’t care what he insisted, why would you bring a human here?!”
“But Lord Childe is no ordinary human; he's a god of dust! Remember?” Aether piped in.
“Which makes it even worse!” Morax shouted loud enough the walls shook as he pulled more of his robe on standing up.
Childe was walking down the street as he muttered to himself how Morax could say all that stuff about being self righteous and not caring at all in the end?
“Well good riddance to him then.”
Suddenly Childe crashed into something hard and he fell back onto his rear, looking up he flinched seeing yokai monsters come closer to him.
“Hey there buddy~”
“We know you, you’re that human who became a dust god at the Guizhong shrine.”
“I heard Guizhong quit being a goddess of dust and found a replacement but we didn’t know you would be so…”
“Delicious and tasty looking.” All three licked their lips.
Childe let out a yell as all three of them made a move to devour him but he didn’t get eaten, opening his eyes Childe saw that all three were fighting each other for a piece of him.
“LORD CHILDE!!”
Chidle heard his name and then suddenly he was scooped up by the twins and all three made a run for it. The three yokai noticed their tasty snack was gone and ran after them but were stopped by Morax.
“Why if it isn’t Master Morax.”
“I guess you won’t mind if we ate the scrumptious looking human boy up would you?”
“We would appreciate it if you didn’t get in our way.”
“Why ask me? You don’t need my consent.” Morax answered in a very calm tone.
“Seriously, you don’t mind? Thank you!”
“Although.” Morax’s gaze turned more dark. “I am in a completely terrible mood right now.”
All three yokai balked and didn’t even have a chance to run before Morax advanced on them and tore them all limb by limb into gorey bits and pieces all over the place.
After ripping apart his prey Morax pondered how this ordinary human now had the powers of a dust god. He compared Childe to a duck that brought its own spring onion and pot to be gobbled up by any yokai, or monster in this realm.
“Though how is that any of my business.” Morax concluded as he walked back to the Pearl Gallery.
Childe was catching his breath with the twins after they all ran a good distance, luckily they weren’t followed by the monsters so they all should be safe.
“Lord Childe, please go back to Master Morax.”
Childe stopped panting and looked up at the two. “Huh?”
“You must have Master Morax become your familiar at all costs!” Aether said urgently.
Childe suddenly stood up in a huff. “Wrong! I’ll be fine on my own.”
Childe kept walking while the twins followed after him. “But if you finalize the contract with Master Morax to be your familiar he’ll have no choice but to obey your every command!”
Suddenly Childe got very interested. “My every command? Seriously?”
“Yes, that is one of the powers a dust god possesses.” Lumine explained happily.
A sly smirk appeared on Childe’s face, he was liking the sound of this. Already thinking of a dozen ridiculous things for Morax to do once he’s his familiar as payback.
“That does sound nice, so what is it I have to do? To seal the contract I mean.”
“It is quite simple my lord, you must take him and kiss him right on the mouth.”Aether and Lumine said so casually. The two got wrapped up in singing a silly little song about it; they didn’t notice Childe was long gone.
Childe was hiding behind some tree panting, hearing the twins looking for him.
No way! Why would those two get me to do something so horrible?!
“I’m going back as fast as I can go on my own!” Childe started to run down a path hoping it lead him out of this nightmare place but then he suddenly heard a cry for help.
“Excuse me young mister?”
Childe looked and there was some old lady with a heavy backpack lying on the road!
“Would you mind helping an old lady?”
Childe heard the twins calling him so just reacting he scooped the lady backpack and all and started running off with her, she prattled on about how she was walking and got tired she needed to lay down.
“Ok but where do you live? Am I going the right way?” Childe asked, unaware of the dark expression growing on the old woman’s face.
The lady growled and Childe looked behind his shoulder to see she turned into a monster and was holding a knife!
Screaming loud enough it drew the twin’s attention who joined together and kicked the monster off Childe. The lady skidded hard on the ground before she got back up and started to run after them.
“What is that?”
“That’s a demon hag!” Lumine screamed.
“And we should start running!” Aether added.
Childe took off running with the twins while the hag chased after them, she yelled in a crackly voice that if she ate Childe’s heart she would live for another thousand years. Childe suddenly felt some binding on him and to his horror spiderwebs captured him and the twins which the hag made.
The hag dragged in her prey but then noticed she only reeled in Aether.
“....star twin doesn’t taste good.” Aether jokes.
The hag threw him away demanding the boy but that gave Aether the chance to run back to the red light district to find Morax.
While Childe kept running Lumine explained that Aether was going to get Morax and that he needed to seal the contract when he arrived.
“No way! There is absolutely no way!” Childe said while still running.
Lumine came over holding something. “Please use these! They’re white talismans. They are like magic paper, whatever you write on them and stick to a surface it will manifest into whatever you wrote!”
“That’s so cool!” Childe grabbed one writing on it while running, then he smacked it to Lumine’s forehead. “Turn into a god soldier!”
Sadly nothing happened and Lumine looked at him with a blank expression.
“Um Lord Childe, the power of the talisman can’t surpass your own ability.”
“Why didn’t you tell me that earlier!” Childe shouted.
Childe was suddenly caught up in webs again and the old hag pounced to have her meal but when she bit down it was instead a tree log and not her prey. The log had Childe’s name written on it, fooling the demon hag.
The hag was now even more angry and Childe only had one talisman left.
Aether had finally made it back to the red light district and was about to begin his search for Morax. Though he didn’t need to look that far.
“Has that human been eaten already?”
Aether stopped running and looked up, there was Morax sitting on a roof drinking some tea.
“Please Master Morax! You have to come help Lord Childe!”
“So not yet then.” Taking a sip of tea but he was interrupted by a glob of magical blue water surrounding a white piece of paper coming near him.
Morax could hear Childe’s voice.
Morax….Morax…..please...help me
Morax held his hand out to the magical talisman but it evaporated before touching his hand. He stayed silent for a moment before a chuckle.
“Oh yes I shall go, so I can watch him cry.”
Childe was crying out from the branch he was hanging from, him and Lumine decided to climb up a tall tree to get away from the demon hag but Childe was getting more and more scared the higher he went up.
“It’s too high!”
“Hurry Lord Childe, you must hurry!” Lumine some feet up yelled at him watching as the demon hag was closing in on them.
“I found you boyo!”
“Ah! She’s back!” Childe cried out.
The demon hag grabbed onto Childe’s ankle, he demanded she let go while Lumine was yelling his name in concern.
“You seemed to be having a tough time there.” Childe looked to his side and standing on the end of another branch was Morax with Aether. “I heard you were in a tight spot and rushed over immediately.”
Childe was touched, his eyes watered a little, Morax heard him and came to his rescue!
“I wanted to enjoy the show.” Morax took a seat on the branch pulling out a cup of wine.
“What!” Childe yelled, then he was distracted by the demon still yanking at his leg, luckily he pulled his ankle out and kicked the hag. She fell down some feet but grabbed onto another branch and started her climb back up.
Childe pulled himself up onto another branch breathing hard, Morax got close to his face.
“Do you want some help, Childe? Oh I imagine you must, if you cry and plead oh please forgive this foolish boy oh great Morax I might be inclined to give you some assistance.” He pointed a clawed finger to Childe’s brow,
Childe held his head up high despite how scared he was being up in the tree and with a demon at his tail. “No, like hell I ask you.”
Childe lost his hold and slipped off the branch but he grabbed onto another one, but now he was dangling by one arm. Morax let out a small gasp seeing Childe almost fall, the twins started to get more worried.
“Lord Childe, just say it! Please forgive.” Both twins started to recite.
“No way!”
“This foolish boy.”
“No way!”
The demon hag was closing in.
“Oh great master Morax.”
“No way!!!”
“You only have to say that one line and then he’ll help you, right Master Morax?” Both twins looked at the dragon.
“Oh yes, indeed so. Say it and I will help you.” Hiding behind his fan suddenly, not sounding all that truthful. “Just say it.”
“Lord Childe say the line!” Both twins yelled more frantically.
“No!”
“Lord Childe say the line!”
“I said no!” The demon hag was almost on Childe.
“LORD CHILDE!”
“I won’t! There is no way! I'd rather die than bow to him!” Suddenly Childe grabbed Morax by the ankle, Childe lost all his strength to hold himself up anymore which meant letting go and dragging Morax down with him.
Both were now falling.
“You stupid boy! All you had to do to live was say one silly line! Now you’re going to die because of your foolish pride!” Morax yelled at Childe.
Childe kept his gaze hidden until he looked up, Childe then grabbed Morax by the collar, surprising the dragon before he was pulled in close. Childe grabbed Morax’s face as he kissed him on the lips. Childe’s eyes were closed while Morax’s were wide open.
Seal the contract
He will have no choice
Childe pulled away from the kiss. “Alright Morax...help me right now asshole!”
Morax’s eyes widened more, and suddenly golden rings formed around his wrists showing that he was now bound as a familiar to a god.
“Curse you!” Morax yelled as he dove after Childe who was still falling.
Suddenly there was a golden light as Morax used his powers to carefully bring Childe down, the dragon was standing while Childe was floating just above his grip. The twins were overjoyed that Childe was finally a true and honest god of dust.
Chidle settled gently in Morax’s grip and he finally opened his eyes, Morax opened one of his own peering down at Childe.
“What the hell? Let go of my prey!” The demon hag yelled.
A dark look fell over Morax, his hand glowed yellow as a small geometric cube of stone formed in his hand. “Get down…” Morax suddenly threw it at the demon. “You peutried hag!”
The demon hag fell to the ground, Morax bound her in geo constructs and took his anger out on her now that he was back in servitude to a god after finally being freed.
“Moarx…”
“What?” Morax stopped his torment on the demon to look over at Childe.
“You came for me, thank you for that.” Childe gave him a soft smile.
The two looked at each other in silence, Morax couldn’t believe after everything Childe would still smile at him.
“Can we go? Back to the shrine I mean.”
“If that is what my lord wishes, so be it.” Morax held his hand out, Childe took it and the pair with the twins started their trek back to the shrine.
Maybe being a dust god won’t be too hard.
