He'd spent so long planning. Worrying over every little detail. Wanting this to be absolutely perfect. He knows that sometimes he couldn't see the forest for the trees. Getting lost in unimportant details or just missing the picture entirely.
He planned out messages in the sky. Flash mobs. Fancy restaurants. Horseback riding down a beach during sunset.
But none of it felt right. None of it would've worked.
In the end, it was simple. Easy.
Just like loving Steve was.
As the sun rose, he rolled over, wrapping Steve in his arms.
"Marry me?" he whispers into Steve's shoulder.
"Yes."
