Chapter Text
The memory of your first meeting is etched into the fine wrinkles of Marius’ hands - a chance encounter where your cotton blouse ghosted like a feather against his body, where strands of your hair slipped through his fingers as he caught you. A chance encounter that left him yearning to feel the textures of you once more, grasping desperately for a fragment of you more than anything he’s wanted more in his entire life. Your clothes were well-tailored, albeit made of cheaper material. Your shoes - a no name designer marketed towards working women like you. Although you were a lawyer, it was clear in his mind you didn’t splurge your entire salary on outfits that lasted one season before being tossed aside to be forgotten.
In that first moment, Marius decided he wanted you by his side, and even if his good looks and playful personality didn’t charm you, he was sure you would be stuck to him the second he opened his wallet and showered you with more silks, gems, and wine than you could ever afford. He was going to have you, no matter the cost.
