Chapter Text
There was nothing Marius hated more than when meetings ran longer than expected. Especially when he wanted nothing more than to get home to Rosa.
He checked his watch, and he couldn't help but sigh when he saw the time. It was late. She'd probably be asleep by now. He promised her they'd spend time together tonight... He'd just have to make it up to her somehow.
Taking care to open the door slowly, trying his best not to make a sound, he stepped out of his shoes and hung his jacket up.
He crept across the living room, waiting for his eyes to adjust to what little moonlight shone through the windows. Normally he'd turn a light on, but he didn't want to wake her up.
Slipping through the bedroom door, he pushed it closed behind him with only the smallest click. And just as he thought, there she was, fast asleep. He unbuttoned his shirt and stepped out of his pants, taking just a moment to pull on pajama pants before pulling back the blankets on his side.
At this point, he was moving as slow as a turtle, worried that any sudden movement would wake her up. He snuggled into the blankets, one arm wrapping around her waist and gently pulling her closer.
And when he was curled up with her like this, it didn't take long for him to be out like a light.
Marius stirred to the sound of birdsong, fresh air, and sunlight directly in his eyes. His nose scrunched, and he moved to hide his face from the sun. Just five more minutes of sleep.
A soft giggle got through to his sleepy brain, and he looked up to see Rosa with a fond smile on her face.
"Good morning, sleepyhead. You didn't wake me up when you got home?" she asked, leaning down to brush his bangs out of his face and press a kiss to his forehead. Marius grunted, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulling her closer.
"You looked so peaceful," he murmured, burying his face in her hair. And of course, he couldn't resist the urge to blow a raspberry on her neck. He got a gentle bap on the head in return, though it was worth it.
He pulled back, his expression softening as he looked at her. He reached out, tucking a lock of hair behind her ear.
"Sorry the meeting ran so late- hold on. Is that my shirt?"
Rosa giggled, her smile turning playful.
"Busted. I missed you, and you weren't using it, so..."
She batted her eyelashes, doing her best to look all cute and innocent. But god, Marius was... A little distracted. She looked so nice in his shirt. It wasn't made to be a pajama shirt, but it worked just fine. He leaned down, pressing a kiss to her exposed shoulder.
"Maybe you should wear them more often. You look good," he said, cupping her face in his hands before leaning in for a proper good morning kiss.
He could really get used to waking up like this. It felt like such a perfect moment.
"I should probably get up," she said quietly, but despite that she made no move whatsoever to get out of Marius's arms. If anything, she only leaned closer to him. And he held her closer, kissing her again.
"Stay?"
"...Alright. Just for today."
