Steve settled you onto the couch, careful not to jostle your bandaged ankle. So much for impressing him on the ice. Winters spent at the local rink were just memories now, and not the muscle kind you had hoped.
“Should be fine in a couple days,” he said while he propped a pillow behind your back.
Steve disappeared into the kitchen and returned a few minutes later with two steaming mugs in hand. You could just make out the fluffy mountain of marshmallows floating on top. He really was perfect.
You cradled your mug with one hand while the other reached for the remote, tuning the TV to a holiday movie. “Keep me company?”
Steve slipped off his shoes as he tossed a blanket over your legs then planted himself on the floor in front of the couch.
“As if you have to ask.”
