Work Text:
Rosalind was explaining to the border patrol why they couldn’t hang up fairy lights at the edge of the barrier when she heard footsteps approaching her office. Maybe half a second later and not bothering to knock on the door, Farah bursted inside Rosalind’s office, managing two steps inside before the woman’s powers held her in the air, stopping any sort of movement but the quick rise and fall of her chest, had she run upstairs?
“Miss Dowling, what are you doing?” Asked Rosalind, caught out of guard by the teacher, she hung up the phone, telling whoever was on the other side that she would call them later.
“Hurry, kiss me!”
“Pardon me?!” Had one of her students hexed her again?
“Kiss me, come on!” Called Farah again and smiled at the woman.
“Why?” Rosalind tried reading her mind, or was this some sort of prank? She walked around her desk and stood a safe distance away from the woman.
“I can’t tell just-” With an eye roll Rosalind moved to her side, dropping Farah to stand on the floor and pecking her lips for half a heartbeat.
“There” Farah smiled at her and left a kiss on her cheek, taking out her phone and sending a quick text.
“Thank you”
“Mind telling me what this was about, Dowling?” Asked Rosalind, grasping Farah’s arm, as she tried moving back to the door, to turn her around.
“The guys and I had a bet” Explained Farah and Rosalind eyebrows shot upwards “Who would kiss their crush first, Saul or I.” The hold on her arm dropped. “It was more of a race, actually”
“You have a crush on me?” Smiled Rosalind. Farah’s eyes widened and she scrunched up her nose, taking in Rosalind’s petty smile.
“Don’t make it such a big deal, we are dating.” Farah rested against the door frame, hands tucked behind her back as she took Rosalind in. The familiar trench coat was nowhere to be seen and the blonde had gone with a black fitting shirt and cargo trousers, not civil enough but it still had Farah having to force herself to get her sight back to the woman’s eyes as Rosalind spoke.
“A fact that I’m guessing your friends don’t know about, right?” She wasn’t mad, they had decided on keeping things low as they figured out this new way of relationship, after all, it had been barely two months since they had gotten drunk off their asses around a campaign bonfire and confessed their feelings, ending up half naked in a tent that was of neither of them before passing out, waking up the next morning had been interesting .
“What they don’t know won’t hurt them” Smiled the woman once again and turned to leave the office.
“Cheater” Snapped back Rosalind, pulling on strings, she didn’t want Farah to leave yet. With a playful faux gasp Farah turned around and walked to her side, pushing the woman a few steps back by the hips and against the desk.
“What did you just call me?” Asked Farah, whispering against Rosalind’s lips.
“Cheater, Miss Dowling” Answered back Rosalind, closing the gap between them and joining their lips. She tugged Farah closer by the belt and the mind fairy bit her lip, making her gasp. “Oi!” Farah’s lips traveled south and to her neck, her hands reached lower as she picked Rosalind up, making her sit at the edge of her desk. Rosalind’s hand moved back to support herself up on the desk, letting an extremely happy Farah kiss up her body. The mind fairy reached her lips again before softly tracing the woman’s neck, tickling her and making Rosalind grasp at her head, pushing her further against her body to feel more. Farah untucked Rosalind’s shirt, kissing down the neckline of the shirt, she pulled Farah’s head back up, kissing her and pressing the woman further against her body, hips digging against the desk. In a moment of clarity, Rosalind took a deep breath, focusing once again and stopping Farah, she pushed her shoulders away and Farah moved back with a pout.
The door wasn’t even closed, for goodness sake.
“Why did you stop?”
“You need to go,” Begged Rosalind, kissing Farah again but standing from the desk.
“Why?” Her hands buried in Rosalind’s hair and pulled the neat ponytail apart, fingers brushing through silky locks.
“Because I have a lot of work to do and I can’t focus with you around.” Rosalind moved the strap of Farah’s shirt to the side and let her lips caress the freckled skin, Farah’s strong heartbeat echoing under her lips.
“We could run away” Joked Farah, but the idea tingled in Rosalind’s head, and even though this relationship was new she knew that with Farah by her side she would go to the end of the world and back. “Or we could go back to your room, paperwork be damned.” Bargained Farah.
“Hm” Rosalind’s knees buckled and Farah held her around the waist, looking into her eyes. “I really like how you think but...”
“...You need to finish it. Okay. Got it” She pecked Rosalind lips and moved back, letting the woman to support most of her weight on the desk. “I’m leaving.” Rosalind snatched her hand and pulled her back for a last kiss before Farah moved to the door, fixing her clothes.
“Oi, Farah!” The fairy turned around, a beaming smile on her face, lips red. “Want to have dinner? I can cook something...” Farah’s eyes widened and Rosalind began to ramble “Or not, I understand, you probably have plans with your friends and I don’t want to bother, it was a stupid idea, forget it...”
“Roz...” Tried Farah, barely holding back a smile.
“Yes?” Rosalind stared intently at the floor, not really wanting to see the rejection on Farah’s face.
“You ramble and it’s adorable” It had been ages since someone had called Rosalind adorable and it made her feel something warm in her chest. “I would love to have dinner with you. Around eight at yours?”
“Ye- yeah, sounds good”
“Great then, good luck with your paperwork, see you tonight” She flashed her another smile before closing the door after her, leaving Rosalind standing in the middle of her office, not really sure of what had happened. A shy smile began to grow in her face as she moved behind her desk, she needed to hurry up.
