Work Text:
"MIRACULOUS LADYBUG!"
After throwing her lucky charm item (an apron) into the air, a wave of magical ladybugs swooped over the city, repairing all the damage courtesy of the group and the day's villain.
Ladybug, in her new upgraded suit, opened up her yo-yo and pulled out a small charm that had a design that matched the villain. She approached Shadow Moth's latest prey, and knelt down. Behind her, she had Cat Noir, Rena Rouge, and Pigella on deck.
"Here, take this charm," Ladybug said as she handed the young man the charm. "And wear it at all times. This way, Shadow Moth won't be able to akumatize you ever again."
"Thank you, Ladybug!" He said as he pocketed the item before getting up and going on his way.
"Pound it!" The group of four said while doing their customary fist bump.
The sound of something beeping rang out, and Cat Noir said, "Sorry, m'lady, but this cat's gotta split! Rena Rouge, Pigella."
He took his baton, spun it, and jumped back up onto the rooftops before getting out of sight.
"Okay, let's go!" Ladybug said as the girls went to hide. Pigella hid behind a wall, called off her transformation, and ran back out to reveal herself as Rose Lavillant.
"Here you go, Ladybug." Rose said as she handed back her Miraculous.
"Thank you, Rose. See you next time." Ladybug said as she took the Pig Miraculous back and put it back in her yo-yo.
After Rose left, Ladybug triple-checked her surroundings before jumping into the sewers. Down there, Rena Rouge was waiting.
"Nice work out there, Rena." Ladybug said.
"Yeah. Now, don't you have a date with a snake?" Rena questioned.
"Right." Ladybug laughed.
"Spots off." "Let's rest."
The girls changed back and let their kwamis hide in their bags before climbing back up to the surface.
Over with Cat Noir, he was leaping across the rooftops in a hurry. He leaped back into a large, open window in a giant house before saying, "Claws in."
He changed back into Adrien Agreste, and he sighed in satisfaction as his kwami, Plagg, flew right to the cheese that was on the table in front of the TV.
"That was a close one, Plagg," Adrien said. "I wasn't expecting that villain to be so tricky that it called for both Pigella and Rena Rouge."
"It's not the first time Ladybug's called in more than one of your friends," Plagg began as he gulped down a huge wedge of camembert. "You're just lucky that Miss Piggy was able to calm that guy down enough."
"I gotta admit, her power really comes in handy. The more positivity, the better." Adrien stated.
"And the only thing better than positivity is cheese!" Plagg cheered as he ate more camembert. Adrien rolled his eyes in amusement.
In Gabriel's atelier, he came up from beneath the floor where his lair was. The man was frustrated with the latest failed attempt at obtaining Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous.
His phone began to ring, and he lifted it. It was Nathalie, who was still stuck in bed after overusing the previously damaged Peacock Miraculous. He picked up the call and asked, "Nathalie?"
"I'm sorry to bother you, sir, but your sister-in-law and nephew are on their way from London. I've sent Adrien's bodyguard to pick them up." Nathalie said over the phone.
His jaw clenched and he grew irked at the mention of his wife's family, especially since he still hadn't recovered his wedding band from his conniving nephew.
"Understood. I'll inform Adrien." He said as he hung up before going to his son's bedroom.
Adrien was in his room, playing one of his video games, with Plagg watching. When he heard a knock on the door, Plagg went to hide while Adrien paused the game.
He stood up and turned around, only to see his father walk in.
"Father." Adrien greeted.
"Adrien, your aunt and cousin are coming to stay with us for a bit." Gabriel said as he came closer to his son.
"Aunt Amélie and Félix are coming back?" Adrien asked.
"Yes," Gabriel told him. "And... They'll be living here with us for a while. Until they get their own place here in Paris."
Adrien smiled at the notion, saying, "Really? Aunt Amélie and Félix are moving here?"
"Apparently, Amélie says they need a change of pace after losing your uncle," Gabriel said through grit teeth. "They should be here soon. Come along."
Gabriel walked towards the door. Plagg swiftly flew into Adrien's button-down, and the blonde followed his father down to the lobby of the house.
Down at the door to the mansion, in walked in Amélie and Félix.
"Adrien!" Amélie squealed with false sweetness, as she approached him and hugged him. "It's so good to see you again!"
"Nice to see you too, Aunt Amélie." Adrien said as he pulled out of the hug.
He looked to his cousin, who had a pleasant smile on his face. Adrien smiled back, but deep inside, he was skeptical. After two incidents with Félix causing an akumatization for kicks and not showing any real regret over his behavior, Adrien needed to be as cautious as possible.
"Félix," Adrien greeted as his cousin approached. "It's nice to know you're moving here."
"Being close to family is what we needed the most," Amélie reasoned. "After all, grief can bring families together, can't it?"
'Or tear them apart...' Adrien thought, thinking of his mother and how her passing had caused a huge rift between him and his father.
"I'm sure having you and Félix here in Paris will be good for Adrien." Gabriel said, clearly annoyed by his sister-in-law's presence.
"So... Um, father, where exactly are we going to put them?" Adrien asked, thinking, 'If Félix winds up bunking with me, hiding Plagg and all that cheese is gonna get harder.'
"We have several guest rooms here that we can put them in to stay while they find a home of their own here." Gabriel stated.
"That's a great idea!" Amélie agreed before turning to her son. "Why don't you and Adrien go to his room?"
"A-Actually, Aunt Amélie, I have to be somewhere," Adrien said, waving his hands. "My friends and I are hanging out on the Liberty on the Seine tonight. Some of them are in a band, and I don't get a lot of free time, so I really want to see them and join the music session."
"You could always bring me along." Félix pointed out, smiling.
"That's..." Adrien began, only for his face to drop in thought. "...Not a bad idea."
He also thought, 'Maybe if I introduce him to the group, maybe their positive influence will rub off on him...'
"It's settled! Félix, go and enjoy yourself with your cousin and his little friends! Who knows, maybe that girl from last time will be with them?" Amélie suggested.
"Is Marinette going to be there?" Félix asked, a smile coming on his face.
"She should be. Her boyfriend is the guitarist. Though she does have a tendency to be late for things a lot." Adrien admitted.
"It would be nice to see her again." Félix added as the Gorilla walked down the stairs and started to lead them to the car, meanwhile Adrien was looking at his cousin with an uncomfortable expression.
The sun was beginning to set over the city, and the orange-golden-red glow of the sun bathed the barge. The entire group, barring Kagami, was out on the deck, enjoying their time. They had food on the nearby pop-up table, the band was up on the stand and playing their instruments, and more.
Alya was sitting next to Nino, who was holding his girlfriend's hand. Marinette, who was standing next to Luka, was smiling at her boyfriend with delight and she couldn't help but giggle every time he turned his blue eyes on hers. She went red.
"Glad you're in a good mood, Marinette." Luka said to her as he strummed a few notes for her.
Marinette laughed before saying, "I am, too."
"I was seriously on the Adrienette boat, but Marinette's been so happy since she and Luka got together." Nino pointed out.
"Yeah, though her feelings for Adrien are still there. She's just choosing not to do anything and be happy with someone who appreciates her." Alya agreed.
The Agreste's car pulled up to the bank of the Seine, and the boys came out before closing the doors. The car drove off.
When she heard the sounds of footsteps and closed doors, turned her face towards the source and saw Adrien coming to the gangplank.
"Look who's here, Marinette," Alya said, pointing someone out. "Adrien!"
Marinette's heart thumped for a split second, but she shook her head and looked at where Alya was pointing to. Marinette saw Adrien making his way across the gangplank, but she saw he wasn't alone.
"Oh no!" Marinette said under her breath. "Look."
Right behind Adrien was Félix, who still had his usual indifferent expression on his face.
"Shit, what is he doing here?" Alya muttered under her breath as she watched Félix follow behind Adrien onto the barge, and everyone turned and saw Félix was with Adrien.
Everyone got on their guard, the music stopped, and Marinette snuggled up closer to Luka, who moved his arm around her in a protective motion.
"Hey everyone!" Adrien said as he waved at the group. "You guys remember my cousin, Félix?"
"Yes, we do." Alya said, her face showing nothing more than a cautious glare. Everyone else had similar looks, especially since they remembered the last two times Félix was in Paris (barring Zoé, who just looked confused).
"Well... I thought I'd bring him here because Félix and Aunt Amélie have decided to move to Paris." Adrien said as he put his hand on his cousin's shoulder.
"Say what?" Nino asked as he stood up. "Are you for real, dude?"
"Yeah, Aunt Amélie said something about a fresh start after Uncle passed away." Adrien commented.
The rest of the group gave pensive, anxious looks (barring Zoé, who seemed more confused). Luka held Marinette a bit tighter.
"Let me introduce you around to some of the others." Adrien said as he brought his cousin around to show him to the rest of the group.
Marinette whispered into Luka's ear, "Why do I have a bad feeling about this?"
"Don't worry, Marinette, I'm right here." Luka whispered back. He kissed her cheek to make her feel better. She blushed.
"This is Zoé," Adrien said, gesturing over to the girl in the black leather jacket, yellow pants, and blue beanie. "She's actually Chloé's half-sister."
"Seriously?" Félix spat. "She's related to that annoying brat?"
Zoé's face fell in response.
"I'm sorry," Félix said, putting on an act of pity. "It's not your fault."
Everyone was trying to keep their cool. Félix seemed to be behaving himself, but Marinette's gut was telling her that Félix was basically Adrien with Lila's manipulation skills, so she had to keep an eye on him.
Her feeling of nausea intensified the closer he got. Marinette felt chills go up her spine as she watched Félix play nice with everyone else, even though they all knew to be careful, especially since he was shaking hands with Alya and Nino. They had skeptical looks on their faces.
Marinette swallowed an anxious lump in her throat as Félix approached her and Luka.
"And last but not least, Marinette and Luka. I'm sure you remember them, right?" Adrien asked, subtly dropping the reminder of what Félix did last time.
"Yes, I do," Félix replied, his hands behind his back as he looked at Marinette with his best, pleasant smile. "It's nice to see you again, Marinette."
"Um..." Marinette began, not sure what to say. Her eyes landed on his tie. The darker sunlight highlighted the tie clip she made him. "...You're still wearing it?"
Félix noticed what she meant and said, "Of course. You made it for me."
He rubbed it with his thumb and forefinger while smiling at Marinette once more. While it seemed like a pleasant, friendly smile like Adrien, Marinette could sense a bit of deceit and malice in it. She just wasn't sure what kind of malice. She pulled back a bit, feeling anxious. Luka put his arm around her and leveled a glare on Félix.
Félix glared back at Luka out of his peripheral, but no one else seemed to take note of the situation.
Noticing Marinette's distress and Luka's annoyance, Alya stood up and said, "Hey Marinette, why don't you, Luka and I go down and get more snacks from below deck? With Félix and Adrien now on board and all?"
Getting the hint, Luka put his guitar down and said, "Great idea."
Alya, Luka, and Marinette hurried below deck. Nino was about to follow, but Alya quickly shut the door in his face. His face fell in dismay as he walked back to the group.
"You okay, Nino?" Adrien asked.
"I'll be fine, dude, but Alya's been acting a bit evasive lately. Even during akuma attacks, she insists on separating instead of hiding together the way we used to." Nino pointed out.
In the back of his mind, he knew it was possible that Ladybug probably needed Rena Rouge in those situations, so he never ruled that out, but he was so used to joining in as Carapace. Sure, there were instances where Carapace was needed, but not Rena Rouge, and vice-versa, but the latter was happening more often recently. Not only that, but Alya was beginning to shut him out of her room whenever Marinette was around, amongst other things.
"I'm sure it's nothing, Nino," Adrien reassured. "Besides, girls are allowed to have their secrets, right? Girl Code, I think?"
The rest of the girls on the boat gave agreeing hums.
Below deck, the trio went to Luka's cabin before Trixx and Tikki came out of their hiding spots.
"Thanks for that, Alya." Marinette said with a sigh of relief.
"Yeah, I could tell Félix's presence is making everyone anxious, not just Marinette." Luka added.
"You're very in tune with the emotions of the people around you, Luka." Tikki praised, with Trixx nodding in agreement.
"But in all seriousness: what was Adrien thinking, bringing his cousin on the boat?" Alya asked. "He's already caused so much chaos in two visits! He even tried to team up with Shadow Moth!"
"Knowing Adrien, he's probably just being naïve and thinking that he can help his cousin change for the better by introducing him to his friends. I'll give you three guesses how this might turn out." Marinette sighed.
"I'm also getting the vibe that Félix might have a thing for you, Marinette." Luka pointed out.
Marinette turned green in the face, gagged and said, "Um, YUCK! No way! It wouldn't be the first time he's tried something on me!"
"Last time he was posing as Adrien and trying to hurt you, right?" Alya asked.
Luka nodded.
"And it wasn't just then. When you, Juleka, and Rose were akumatized into the Punishers Trio when he first came to Paris, he tried backing me -er, Ladybug against the wall and kissing me!" Marinette said.
"I remember that. I got akumatized into King Lyre and almost poisoned him to death last time he was here," Luka said, angrily. "With his toxic influence, I have half a mind to kick him off the boat."
"Let's not get ahead of ourselves," Marinette said while crossing her arms. "If Félix continues to behave, I think he can stay. Something tells me as long as Adrien's around, he won't pull anything."
"Like with Lila? He puts on an act until he's completely alone and feels safe to show his true colors?" Alya questioned.
"Right." Marinette said.
"Okay, let's get some food and drinks before heading back up. I'll stay by Marinette's side the whole time." Luka said before kissing Marinette on her cheek. Marinette blushed in response.
Everyone nodded while the kwamis went back into hiding. They went to the fridge. Marinette pulled out a large platter of sliced watermelon and other fruits; Alya brought out a pitcher of orange juice, and Luka found a bag potato chips. He emptied it into a bowl.
The trio went back upstairs, and all seemed peaceful.
"Marinette!" Félix said as he approached her with his hands behind his back and his smile on his face. Marinette got her guard up as she went to the table to put the watermelon plate down. "Adrien was just telling me about your parents' bakery."
"Um, yes, they're considered the best in Paris." Marinette said while going up towards Luka.
Félix's eyes narrowed the faintest bit, but he said with a hint of cunning in his voice, "I'd definitely like to try some of those goods some day."
"There's a plate of croissants over there at the table!" Rose pointed out.
Félix looked at the aforementioned table, and Luka took this as the chance to bring Marinette over to his side. For the rest of the evening, Marinette sat next to Luka, who was playing his guitar and giving her amorous looks. She returned the sentiment, leaning her head against his arm.
The cousins looked at the scene with varying expressions. Adrien looked at it in mild discomfort/confusion, meanwhile Félix's usual cold scowl had more hostility to it.
Marinette herself felt very at ease with Luka's presence, feeling safe and loved. And the fact that he chose to stand by her even after finding out she was Ladybug made her feel hopeful for the future. A future without Shadow Moth, no supervillains or sentimonsters, just peace and quiet with the kwamis.
The next day at the Agreste Mansion, Félix was in his own separate room, getting dressed for the day. He was wearing his usual clothes (including the tie clip Marinette made him), and he was in front of the mirror, combing his hair.
He had the address for the Dupain-Cheng bakery up on his phone and he'd used that information to book an Uber to go there. He smirked at it, confident.
Meanwhile at the Dupain-Cheng bakery, Marinette was up in her room with Alya. They were working on translating the grimoire and reading it over while the kwamis were floating about and helping carry items that the girls needed.
"So, any progress on the spell book?" Alya asked as she was writing down the translations for the power-up potions in the printed pages.
"Not yet." Marinette said with a sigh while organizing her notes and putting them in a place where no one else would look.
She emptied her chest of all of the presents she made for Adrien and decided to use it as a storage unit for any materials relating to her guardian duties. She even upgraded it so it would have a "secret box" mechanism the same way her diary was set up, with a deactivation code similar to how she hid the Miracle Box. Obviously, the kwamis could come and go without getting caught, and Alya and Luka were given the codes in case crap went down and she couldn't transform and/or get to the box.
"I understand some of what the book is saying, but a lot of it is just metaphors that could be interpreted in so many ways!" Marinette griped.
"Oh yeah, like when you put black pepper in that potion and it caused an explosion?" Alya said with a laugh. "What else was there?"
"I can't say anything. The kwamis aren't supposed to know what these recipes are," Marinette explained. "What if any of these little guys got captured by one of the villains, like Nooroo and Duusu?"
"Point well taken," Alya agreed. "The less information Shadow Moth gets, the better."
"Yeah. Bad enough he knows the identities of you and some of the others." Marinette said as she put more of her notes in the chest and shut it.
"And we already saw how he's using that info." Alya muttered.
"So what's next?" Trixx asked.
"We just keep everything on the DL," Marinette said. "Not even Cat Noir can know!"
"Are you sure that's fair to him?" Tikki asked. "Keeping him out of the loop has caused trouble before, hasn't it? The less he knows about what you're doing as the guardian, the more your partnership may weaken."
Marinette's face fell when she heard this, and she thought aloud, "You're probably right..."
"I know you technically erased that timeline thanks to Bunnyx, but you said that the whole Cat Blanc disaster still gives you nightmares, right? You don't want that to happen for real, right?" Alya questioned.
Marinette gave a nod.
There was a knock on her bedroom door. The kwamis hid.
"Marinette, you have a visitor!" Sabine said from below.
"Who is it?" Marinette asked.
"Oh, at first I thought it was Adrien with a different hairstyle and outfit," Sabine said from below, getting the girls' attention. "But I think his name is Feri... Fergus? Félix?"
"What?" Marinette questioned as she opened the door and went downstairs.
Down at the door was Félix, who was smiling at her and playing nice with her parents, though she could tell her dad was about to get a little overprotective.
"Félix? What are you doing here?" Marinette asked as she stayed on the stairs.
"I thought I'd take a tour of Paris when I remembered those delicious croissants from last night on the barge," Félix said. "So, I came by to taste more of your parents' goods. They don't disappoint."
"Why thank you!" Tom chortled.
Marinette knew Félix was only acting, and she had knots in her stomach in discomfort. She could tell there was something going on, but she wasn't sure what.
"So, I was thinking, why don't you join me? Think you can show me around? I may even be attending your school with Adrien, so why don't I get to know the neighborhood?" Félix asked as he approached, his hands still behind his back.
Marinette stepped backwards up the stairs and she glared him down, saying, "No. Why not have Adrien do that for you? He is your family and you guys have a bodyguard. It'd be safer that way, especially if Shadow Moth attacks."
Félix looked at her in surprise before saying, "Come on, Marinette. Surely you can give me the benefit of the doubt, can't you?"
"After what you did to Luka last time?! No way!" Marinette said, crossing her arms. "I've said it before and I'll say it again: you've got a long way to go before I can even think of trusting you!"
Félix's eyes flashed for a second before giving her a sad look. He told her, "Marinette, I'm asking you to let me prove that you can trust me."
"No way," Marinette said. "I tried that once before with someone and it turned into a big mistake. I won't do that again. Now, if you excuse me, I have to go back to my room to finish up more of the spe... special designs I'm making! My boyfriend will be by later to take me out on a date!"
Marinette hurried back upstairs, shut the door and locked it.
Félix stood there, glaring at the door. Tom and Sabine looked at him. The former crossed his arms and said, "You heard her, young man. Please leave."
Félix didn't argue, choosing to leave the residence.
Back up in her room, Alya said, "What was he thinking? He knows you and Luka are together!"
Marinette shrugged before saying, "It doesn't matter. Let's get back to this."
"You are gonna take a break at some point, right?" Tikki asked, crossing her arms. "We can't have you working nonstop for days on end."
"Yeah, when Luka shows up for our date." Marinette said, blushing as she thought of him.
At school the next day, Marinette had arrived at the stairs to the building.
"Good morning, Marinette!" Luka said as he came up to her on his bike.
"Morning, Luka!" Marinette said. "Let's both have a great day today, okay?"
"Let's." Luka agreed. They were both unaware that Adrien's family car pulled up.
Adrien came out of the back seat closer to the curb. He looked at Marinette and Luka in minor discomfort (his eye was twitching) as Luka kissed Marinette's cheek. She giggled in response.
Luka went to park his bike, meanwhile Adrien took a deep breath to calm himself down.
Once she got into the classroom and sat in her seat, Marinette had a good feeling for the day, and the loving, fluttering feelings Luka's earlier kiss gave her didn't hurt either.
"You're in a good mood this morning." Alya commented.
Marinette laughed a little and said, "Yep. So far it's been a quiet week, if you know what I mean."
She winked at her best friend, who winked back.
As Mme. Bustier came in, Marinette wasn't paying attention to her.
"Morning, class," She greeted. "Before we get started, we're having a guest joining us today."
Everyone started murmuring about who it could be.
"Now, I'm sure it will be like seeing double, but today's guest is Félix, Adrien's cousin." Mme. Bustier announced as Félix came into the classroom.
'What?!' Marinette thought, her eyes bulging in shock and dread.
Everyone groaned in response.
"Good morning, Marinette." Félix greeted as he came in front of Marinette's spot at her desk. He gave her a Lila-esque, flirtatious smile.
Marinette recoiled back and she flailed her arms in fright before settling down.
"What are you doing here, Félix?" Marinette asked.
"I'm here to tour the school. Adrien's sung its praises. I thought I'd check it out, too." Félix replied.
Marinette face-palmed, thinking aloud, "Oh, no..."
"Marinette, as class representative, you'll be Félix's guide for the day." Mme. Bustier said.
"Um, Mme. Bustier, are you sure that's a good idea?" Marinette tried to protest. "I-I-I mean that this is Adrien's cousin we're talking about. Um, shouldn't he be the one to mentor Félix today?"
Félix tried his best to hide his scowl at this suggestion.
"I'm with Marinette," Adrien agreed, much to Marinette's confusion (and delight). "I think that I should be the one for Félix to shadow."
Since everyone knew what happened the first time Félix was in Paris, everyone was talking in agreement, with Alya being the most vocal about it.
"Well, you do have a valid point..." Mme. Bustier began. "That said, this is one of your class representative duties, Marinette."
Marinette moaned and hung her head while Félix smiled.
"Alya, would you be willing to switch seats with Félix today?" Mme. Bustier asked.
"No, Mme. Bustier," Alya said, crossing her arms. "I'm not comfortable with it."
"Hm..." Mme. Bustier said as she looked over her class to figure out what to do. "In that case, let's do it like this for today."
The teacher wound up shuffling the seats. Nino was now sitting in Marinette's seat next to Alya while Marinette was stuck sitting in front of Alya, with Félix in the seat where Adrien usually was, and Adrien himself was sitting next to Ivan.
"Well, Marinette, it looks like we'll be spending the whole day together." Félix purred with a smirk, sending chills down her spine and making her feel bile coming up in her stomach.
Marinette tried to make as much distance as possible between herself and Félix at that comment. Adrien was watching in worry, as were some of the others.
When classes went on break, Marinette was hiding from Félix in the hallways. The aforementioned blonde was looking around, trying to find her.
"I can't believe I have to put up with him all day!" Marinette quietly moaned to Tikki.
"He wasn't being very appropriate with you in the classroom. You should've said something to Mme. Bustier." Tikki said.
"I tried, Tikki, but-" Marinette began to argue, only for her to realize how loud her voice was. She covered her mouth before continuing.
She heard her phone beep a bit, and she got anxious. She pulled her phone out of her pocket and saw it was Luka calling her. She breathed a sigh of relief.
"Hi, Luka," Marinette said as she took the call. "You're a sweet sound for sore ears."
Luka chuckled on the other end before saying, "Glad you're happy to hear my voice."
Marinette blushed at the words as she all but swooned.
"Listen, I heard from Juleka," Luka said, getting to the point. "Félix is shadowing you?"
"Yes." Marinette groaned.
"Sounds rough. Hey, the music room's empty. Wanna come by for a song?" Luka questioned.
"I'd love that." Marinette said as she stood up and snuck off to the music room to find her boyfriend.
When she got there, she sat in a chair while Luka sat next to her while playing his guitar. Since they were alone, Tikki was peeking her head out of Marinette's purse.
"This is so soothing." Marinette said as she sighed.
"Glad I can ease your tension, Marinette." Luka said.
Tikki giggled from the bag, and Marinette was feeling so much more relaxed. As Luka continued to strum his guitar, Marinette closed her eyes and propped her cheek in her hand.
Tikki was listening, too, but she heard footsteps coming towards the room. She ducked.
The door opened and someone said, "Marinette."
The couple looked up to the door and saw Félix, who looked at them in surprise before distaste, and he stalked over to them.
"Come on, we've got science next," Félix said as he grabbed her hand before yanking her up. "Let's go."
"Hey, let go of her." Luka spoke, standing up.
But Félix ignored Luka's request before beginning to drag Marinette out of the room.
"See you later, Luka?" Marinette asked while looking at her boyfriend with affection.
"Yes." Luka confirmed with a nod.
Félix gave Luka the stink-eye before saying, "Marinette, let's go!"
"Don't push!" Marinette shouted as Félix shoved her out the door. Luka looked on in worry.
After school let out for the day, Marinette immediately began running down the stairs of the building.
"Marinette!" Félix shouted from behind.
Marinette stopped at the bottom of the stairs and moaned as Félix caught up to her, his hands behind his back as always.
"Yes, Félix?" Marinette asked.
"I just wanted to tell you that I had a great time today," Félix said as he got in front of her and leaned in closer to her face, causing her to lean back in discomfort. "You're an excellent class representative."
"Um, thank you... Mind getting out of my space, please?" Marinette asked as she tried to push him away, only for him to grab her wrist.
"Actually, I have a trick to show you." He said to her.
Marinette looked at him in suspicion as he reached behind her ear and motioned to grab something. Marinette all but panicked, hoping he wasn't grabbing at her Miraculous, but he pulled his hand back. With a flick of his wrist, he produced an expensive pink morganite bracelet and dangled it from his thumb and forefinger.
"Huh?" Marinette asked in surprise as Félix quickly slipped it on to her wrist.
"Well, what do you think?" Félix asked.
Marinette examined it before saying, "I... Well, objectively, from a fashion standpoint, it works, but..."
"Great," Félix said, interrupting her. He grabbed her hand and began to lead her away. "Now, how about I bring you to a nice restaurant for dinner? We can get to know each other a little more."
"No! Luka and I have a date!" Marinette said as she yanked her hand away from him and back off. She tossed the bracelet back to him. He caught it in his hand before looking at Marinette in shock.
"Excuse me?" Félix asked. "Marinette, that twit's no good for you."
"When a woman says "no", she means it, Félix!" Marinette barked at him. "I keep telling you that I have a boyfriend! And no magic trick in the world will ever make me change my mind about him!"
"How can you love that Jagged Stone nutcase?" Félix asked darkly.
'They're actually father and son, but I'm not gonna tell Félix THAT.' Marinette thought, scowling.
She shook her head before saying, "Oh, please. Luka's a 21st Century gentleman. He doesn't touch me without my consent, he's always checking up on me emotionally, he's there for me when I need to take a break, he's an amazing guitarist, not to mention drop-dead handsome! He loves me for me!"
"Marinette, there's no way that rock and roll junkie cares about you for real. I love you." Félix insisted.
"No. No, you don't. You're a sleaze ball!" Marinette said, getting angry at the insults thrown at Luka. "You've already tried invading my space multiple times, you've deliberately caused akumatizations just for your own sense of entertainment, and more! As if I would want to give you the time of day!"
"Listen, Marinette, I am not a guy who settles for not getting what he wants," Félix said as he stepped closer to her. "And what I want is you. Just give me one date and I'll prove to you that we're made for each other."
"Too bad, but I'm off the market," Marinette said, crossing her arms. "And if you think you can just split me and Luka up that easily, you've got another thing coming."
"Marinette!" Another voice shouted. Marinette turned around and smiled when she saw Luka coming up on his bicycle, helmet on his head.
"Luka!" Marinette said as she waved him over.
Luka noticed the unwanted presence in the situation and neutrally greeted, "Hi, Félix."
Félix didn't answer, choosing to glare at him.
"Shall we go, Marinette? The others are waiting." Luka said as he passed Marinette her own helmet.
"Thanks." Marinette said as she put the helmet on and mounted the bike.
"Excuse me, I was just about to take Marinette out on a date." Félix insisted.
"No you weren't," Marinette spat back. "I already have plans."
"Marinette, I-" Félix began.
"Marinette's made it clear that she's busy and you make her uncomfortable," Luka said, cutting in. "So, please leave my girlfriend alone."
"Your girlfriend?! She's my-" Félix began, grabbing Marinette's hand.
She threw him off, saying, "Let go of me!"
He stumbled back and fell on his rear end. He watched as Marinette glared at him like he was a cockroach.
"Let's get out of here." Luka said as he started to pedal away before Félix could react.
Watching them leave, Félix growled with rage as he balled his fist and began trembling with anger, tears pricking his eyes.
That bastard! How could he take away the girl who was rightfully meant to be his?! Especially since he had nothing on him! He had talent, skill, money, and looks to spare! What was it that Marinette saw in that Jagged Stone wannabe?! Whatever it was, it wouldn't last. He had a way of always getting what he wanted. He was Marinette's Prince Charming! Not that blue-haired ogre!
In the lair of Shadow Moth, the window opened up and the butterflies started flying around.
"The rage of a young man who feels he's the prince in the fairytale while his beloved is in love with the wrong man," Shadow Moth said as he opened his hand up and a butterfly landed in it. He shut his hand and charged it. "Fly, my little akuma, and help this boy rewrite the plot of his story!"
The akuma flew out of the window and into the city.
Félix was still huffing and puffing at the turn of events. Adrien came out of the school building and ran down to his cousin.
"Hey, Félix! How was it today?" Adrien asked, only to notice his mood.
"It was fine until that blue-haired prick Luka took away my love!" Félix spat.
"I thought you already knew those two were dating," Adrien said, granted he didn't look very happy about it, either. "Why are you..."
Before Adrien could finish his sentence, the akuma landed in the tie clip Marinette made for Félix. Adrien gasped and stepped back.
The halo came up on Félix's face, and he looked up with the dirtiest, most angry scowl ever.
"Prince Charmcaster," Shadow Moth said. "I am Shadow Moth. The girl who's meant to be yours is involved with the wrong man! So, I'm giving you the power to cast your own magic to get rid of the monster in the story! The only thing I want in return are Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous!"
Félix smirked and said, "It's a deal, Shadow Moth!"
Adrien watched in horror as the energy washed over his cousin. The other students who were watching nearby all scattered for cover. Adrien stepped back and gasped as a new person emerged. Félix's clothes looked like what would happen if you combined Harry Potter with previous akuma victim Simon Says, took away the green and the top hat from the latter, put a butterfly-shaped mask over his face, a small, golden crown on his head with a diamond as the jewel, a star-shaped magic wand in hand, the tie clip hadn't been changed as did his hair (minus it being silver instead of blonde), and he had a sack on his hip that contained magic dust.
"Félix!" Adrien shouted.
"Not anymore - I'm Prince Charmcaster now," He said as he raised his wand before charging it with a spell. "And now that I have the magic I need to get the girl, I'm going to take Luka out of the equation."
He conjured up a broom and he jumped onto it with both feet before flying off.
"Oh, no!" Adrien shouted before running into a close back alley. Plagg came out of his shirt.
"I know your cousin's like a bad-quality processed cheese, but this is taking it too far!" Plagg said.
"We'd better step in before Marinette gets spelled!" Adrien said. "Plagg, claws out!"
After transforming, he extended his staff and got himself up on the roof before chasing after his akumatized cousin.
On the barge, Marinette was sitting in front of the band stand while Luka and the rest of Kitty Section were playing a song. Marinette was swooning over her blue-haired boyfriend, hearts in her eyes and her hands clasped beneath her cheeks. She was staring at Luka, absolutely smitten.
Luka did a windmill on his guitar while Ivan was drumming in the background. Luka looked up at Marinette and winked at her, causing her to blush and giggle in response.
Alya was also there, sitting on another part of the barge with a glass of orange juice. She smiled as she watched her best friend and her boyfriend act all sweet with each other.
High above the barge, Prince Charmcaster was watching the situation from down below. The sight of Marinette and Luka flirting with each other made his blood boil. He used his wand to take out some black magic dust and he fired it at the entire group of Kitty Section.
Alya noticed something coming out of the air. She gasped and shouted, "INCOMING!"
Everyone looked up, but it was too late. The black magic dust blasted the entire band, and they were all immobilized.
"Wh-What's going on?!" Luka groaned as he tried to move, but he was stuck like a statue.
"Luka!" Marinette shouted as she ran over to him.
"M... Marinette, don't worry about me, just get yourself and Alya off the boat!" Luka warned, and Alya took her cue to run off the Liberty.
"She's not going anywhere!" Prince Charmcaster said as he landed the broom on the deck and stepped off.
Marinette looked him over with an analytic eye, and she saw the clip on his necktie. She immediately clued in.
"Félix?!" Marinette asked, her eyes going wide.
"I'm not Félix Graham de Vanily anymore," Prince Charmcaster said as he tapped his wand in his hand. "I'm Prince Charmcaster."
"What do you want?!" Marinette asked as she stepped back.
"The question is who I want and what I'm going to do." Félix said as he flicked his wand at the band.
In a robotic manner, Kitty Section started playing a rock and roll song, but Rose was silenced by the magic. Luka was doing a hard riff on the guitar, while rest of the band was playing along.
Prince Charmcaster started stepping closer to Marinette. She was backing up.
"I'm gonna cast a spell on you," He sang as he used his wand to pull some blue magic dust out of the sack and started twirling it. "You're gonna do what I want you to. Mix it up here in my little bowl, say a few words and you'll lose control!"
He fired the dust at Marinette, but she jumped out of the way. It hit the wall and the magic dust just slid to the floor.
"I'm a hex guy! And I'm gonna put a spell on you (I'm gonna put a spell on you!)!" He sang as he fired more magic at Marinette while the others sang in the background. She leaned backwards and it missed her.
"I'm a hex guy! And I'm a gonna put a spell on you (put a spell on you)!" Prince Charmcaster sang as he kept firing magic at Marinette, and she kept ducking and dodging.
She watched Luka in horror. He kept playing his guitar against his will and he was looking at Marinette in worry/panic. But Félix used his wand to force him to obey and keep playing like a mindless drone.
Marinette had to force herself to look at Félix, but she felt like she was going to vomit on the deck.
"You'll feel the fog as I cloud your mind," He sang as he lifted his wand and started creating another spell (this time using blue magic dust), all while giving Marinette a seductive, predatory smile. "You'll get dizzy when I make a sign."
Marinette was frozen to the spot as Prince Charmcaster swirled the magic dust in a ball. He used his magic to pull Marinette closer. She struggled against it, but she was defenseless against it.
Prince Charmcaster started scratching her under her chin (much to her and Luka's disgust) and he sang, "You'll wake up in the dead of night! Missing me when I'm out of sight!"
As he started up another spell, the one binding Marinette stopped and she got control over her body again. She began to run off the boat.
"I'm a hex guy! And I'm gonna put a spell on you (I'm gonna put a spell on you!)!" He sang as he fired more purple magic dust. She screamed as she ran off the boat, narrowly avoiding the spell. "I'm a hex guy! And I'm gonna put a spell on you! (Oh yeah!)"
Prince Charmcaster got onto his broom and started flying after Marinette, still controlling Kitty Section with his wand. Marinette was running down the street from the boat, trying to get away and find a place to transform.
She kept running and dodging Prince Charmcaster's magic spells. However, she hit a dead end and skid to a halt.
"Crap!" Marinette shouted.
Above her, Prince Charmcaster flew in front of her and got closer to her. She started backing away as he conjured up another purple spell ball.
"With this little cobweb potion, you'll fall into dark devotion." He sang as he started slowly getting closer to her. She kept backing up.
He showed her an image of her and Luka together, holding hands, but he also scowled at it and used his magic to change the image into Marinette and himself as Félix.
"If you ever lose affection, I will change your whole direction!" He sang as he fired his magic at her.
She screamed as she ran off.
"I'm a hex guy! And I'm gonna put a spell on you (gonna put a spell on you!)!" Prince Charmcaster sang as he followed after her on his broom, conjuring up the biggest magic dust ball yet.
Marinette kept running, but she tripped and fell onto the ground. She looked up and turned around to see Prince Charmcaster above her.
'If I get hit, then I'm done for!' Marinette thought, her blood turning to water at the sight.
"I'm a hex guy! And I'm gonna put a spell on you! I'm gonna put a spell on ALL OF YOU!" Prince Charmcaster shouted in song as he fired.
Marinette screamed and braced herself, but Cat Noir jumped in and spun his staff to block the magic.
"Hey, Wicked Wizard! Don't you know that love spells are against any good magic-user's code of ethics?!" Cat Noir teased.
"Like I care." Prince Charmcaster said as he began conjuring up a black magic dust ball.
"Get his Miraculous, Prince Charmcaster!" Shadow Moth ordered from his lair as the halo appeared on Prince Charmcaster's face.
"Hand over your Miraculous," Prince Charmcaster ordered. "Otherwise you'll be nothing more than cat ashes!"
Instead of listening, Cat Noir scooped Marinette up, used his staff to get on the roof, and he began running and jumping across the city to escape. Prince Charmcaster was hot on their tail.
As he flew across the city skyline, he missed that Cat Noir had jumped down to another alley.
"You okay?" Cat Noir asked as he put Marinette down.
"I'm good," Marinette assured. "He's after me and my boyfriend, Luka."
"I figured," Cat Noir said to her. "Listen, stay here and stay out of sight. Ladybug and I will stop that magic maniac."
Cat Noir used his staff to get up to the roof again and chase after Prince Charmcaster.
Once alone, Tikki came out.
"Ugh, that guy's like Lila! He doesn't get what he wants or gets called out, he becomes a cockroach that won't die!" Marinette griped.
"You shouldn't beat yourself up, Marinette. You were setting your boundaries and making them perfectly clear. You told him straight that you and Luka are a couple. It's on him for not respecting that and getting angry over it." Tikki reassured her.
"Thanks," Marinette said as she took out her phone and quickly shot Alya a message for her to spring into action as Rena Rouge. She put it away. "Now, let's get to work! Tikki, spots on!"
After transforming, Ladybug shot her yo-yo out and used it to swing up to the rooftop and catch up with Cat Noir.
"Cat Noir, sorry I'm late!" Ladybug shouted as she landed next to him.
"Nice to see you've joined the party, M'lady," Cat Noir said as he ducked behind a wall on the roof. "Okay, the victim is that cousin of one Adrien Agreste, Félix Graham de Vanily. An entitlement issue regarding the girlfriend of Luka Couffaine."
"Meaning?" Ladybug asked, playing dumb.
"Apparently, Prince Not-Very-Charming over there thinks he's the rightful boyfriend for Marinette Dupain-Cheng." Cat Noir summarized.
Ladybug tried not to let her distaste of what happened show on her face before asking, "Any idea where the akuma is?"
"It's in the tie clip he's wearing." Cat Noir said.
"I called in Rena Rouge. She should be here shortly." Ladybug added.
Cat Noir nodded in response.
On the Liberty, the spell wore off and everyone fell down, tired.
"Ugh..." Luka moaned as he sat up. "Everyone okay?"
"I'm fine." Ivan reported.
"Juleka?" Rose questioned, getting a nod from her girlfriend.
It was hard to hear, but Juleka mumbled out a voiced concern for her brother.
"Yeah, I'm good. I gotta go after Marinette!" Luka said as he stood up.
"What?" Rose asked.
"Listen, Prince Charmcaster is after me! I need to be the one to stop this, or at least stall him until Ladybug and Cat Noir show up!" Luka shouted as he grabbed his guitar, slung it on his back, and ran off the deck.
"Be careful!" Rose shouted as she and the others went back down below deck for safety.
Out in the city, Ladybug and Cat Noir were fighting off Prince Charmcaster, using their weapons to block the magic, ducking, dodging, and trying to land hits on the guy.
"You can't just force someone to fall in love with you!" Cat Noir protested as he blocked a black magic dust blast.
"Yeah! This isn't a fairy tale!" Ladybug agreed while blocking a red blast. "If she doesn't feel that way about you, you need to leave well enough alone!"
"I'm not in the business of letting go of what's mine!" Prince Charmcaster roared before firing more magic at them.
The two heroes dodged and kept ducking the magic. Cat Noir used his staff to knock some of the magic dust back. Prince Charmcaster covered his eyes, and Ladybug dragged Cat Noir back down and into a hiding place behind a nearby wall on a roof.
"He's untouchable as long as he has access to his wand and his magic sack!" Ladybug stated. "We need to get one of the two of those off him before we get the akuma out! Or even both."
"Come out, come out, wherever you are, Marinette!" Prince Charmcaster said as he started conjuring a spell. "Otherwise the entire city's going to fall under my spell!"
Guitar music was playing loudly. Down and behind the akumatized Félix, Luka was loudly playing his guitar to get his attention.
"HEY! DOWN HERE!" Luka hollered. Prince Charmcaster turned around and faced Luka. "Stop this right now! I'm the one you're after!"
"Nice to see you're giving yourself up," Prince Charmcaster said as he began conjuring up a black spell. "Are you ready to play your part in the story as the ogre while I'm truly the Prince Charming for Marinette?"
Luka held his ground as he continued playing his guitar.
"Listen, I have no intention of leaving Marinette! Nor she I!" Luka declared to Prince Charmcaster. "She's my girlfriend, and we love each other! If you think it's only Prince Charmings that get girls in the fairy tales, you haven't seen the "Shrek" movies!"
Ladybug willed away a blush as she felt her heart flutter at his declaration. Prince Charmcaster only got angry and he made to fire.
Nearby, Rena Rouge was hiding and analyzing the situation.
'Thanks for the distraction, Luka! Now to create a little magic of my own.' Rena thought as she lifted her flute and quietly said, "Mirage!"
She threw a light ball into the ground and it flashed, creating an illusion of Marinette. Using her flute, Rena started controlling her illusion like a puppet. She made "Marinette" run out from hiding.
"LEAVE HIM ALONE!" Rena shouted through her flute.
"LEAVE HIM ALONE!" "Marinette" hollered, catching Prince Charmcaster's attention.
"Marinette" looked very angry and scared, with tears running down her face.
"Ah, there you are, Marinette," Prince Charmcaster said with a smile as he started flying closer to "Marinette". "Ready to be mine?"
"No!" Rena said through her flute.
"No!" "Marinette" repeated. "I'll never be your girlfriend! I love Luka! I could never leave him for anyone!"
"Not even my dumbass of a cousin?" Prince Charmcaster spat.
Cat Noir winced at the insult, a bit annoyed, meanwhile Ladybug looked a little awkward about it, too.
"Not even Adrien!" "Marinette" said through Rena.
With a scoff, Prince Charmcaster raised his wand and began conjuring up a purple spell before telling her, "Well, if you won't go out with me on your own free will, then I'll make like a wizard and make you fall for me! Your rightful prince!"
Ladybug used her yo-yo to pull Luka out of the way, being sure he didn't drop his guitar.
Rena Rouge voiced "Marinette" and made her illusion say, "Sorry, but you're going to have to catch me first."
"Marinette" turned on her heel and began running at top speed. Prince Charmcaster started riding after her on his broom.
Rena kept controlling her illusion and making sure "Marinette" was running faster than Prince Charmcaster could keep up with.
"Prince Charmcaster, enough chasing after the girl! Focus on obtaining Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous!" Shadow Moth ordered from his lair.
"Not until I spell Marinette into becoming my love!" Prince Charmcaster fired back.
At one point, Rena had "Marinette" duck in another alley, a little way's out of sight from the villain.
She crossed her arms together and quietly said, "Reality."
In a puff of smoke, the illusion disappeared. A second later, Prince Charmcaster came upon the scene and he looked around. He growled before flying off, with Cat Noir hot on his tail.
Nearby, Rena said, "Let's rest."
She changed back into Alya, and pulled a grape out of her bag for Trixx to eat.
"Nice work, Alya." Trixx praised.
Alya nodded before saying, "Thanks. Trixx, let's pounce!"
She changed back into Rena Rouge before jumping up to the rooftops.
Back with Cat Noir, he'd chased Prince Charmcaster back to the barge while trying to fight him.
"Where is that bastard Luka?!" Prince Charmcaster shouted as he kept firing off spells (this time in blue). Any time a spell hit something, something random would occur.
A tree was hit and it turned into a giant pile of movie theater popcorn. A building started melting like it was ice cream in the hot sun. The Seine became sand and the Liberty started sinking. Everyone in the hold started screaming at the movement.
"You'd better come out and face your fate, Luka! Marinette will be mine and you'll be back in that filthy swamp where you came from!" Prince Charmcaster shouted as he lifted his wand.
However, Cat Noir's staff was swung at him, knocking the wand out of his hand. Cat Noir charged at him, his staff ready like a baseball bat, but Prince Charmcaster used his other hand and pulled out red magic dust, combined it with some black, and he fired it at Cat Noir. He gasped and blocked it before jumping out of sight, away from Prince Charmcaster. He ducked into the sewers.
Meanwhile, Ladybug pulled Luka into hiding before landing next to him.
"Luka, you okay?" She asked.
"I'm good." Luka said with a nod.
"Great," Ladybug said before taking out her yo-yo. "Lucky Charm!"
As her suit changed, her Lucky Charm produced...
"Bedsheets?" Luka asked. "How are those going to help?"
Ladybug was about to think of a plan, but she got a phone call from Cat Noir.
"Cat Noir! How's it going?" Ladybug asked.
"Not very magically, I can tell you," He joked. "I've tried getting rid of his wand, but he can just use his hands to control his magic dust. And that's where the spells come from. I nearly got spelled into becoming his cat."
"So he can use his magic without the wand. Meaning we need to restrain him, thenget rid of both the wand and the magic dust sack so he can't access his spells." Ladybug summarized.
"Right." Cat Noir said.
"I've already gotten a Lucky Charm. Get in touch with Rena Rouge and rendezvous with me at this spot." Ladybug said as she shot him her coordinates.
After hanging up, she looked at Luka and said, "Prince Charmcaster is like Desperada - one spell, and we're dead. Looks like we're going to need a snake in the grass."
Luka got the idea as Ladybug took the Snake Miraculous out of her yo-yo and handed it to him. Luka took it into his hand, and out of the bangle came Sass.
"Sass, good to see you again." Luka greeted.
Sass nodded at him in response and said, "Yes, indeed."
Luka smiled and said, "Sass, scales slither!"
After transforming into Viperion, the two of them stood up.
"Any ideas?" He asked.
Ladybug used her Lucky Vision to look around. What lit up in red with black spots were the following: the bedsheets, Viperion, Rena Rouge, her house, Cat Noir, the barge, and both the sack and the wand on Prince Charmcaster.
"I do, and I know it will work, but I think it's a bit drastic..." Ladybug said, just as Rena and Cat Noir landed.
"Viperion?" Cat Noir asked, surprised to see the snake. "Great to see you."
"Thanks," Viperion said. "Ladybug already brought me up to speed."
"So, what's the plan?" Rena asked.
Ladybug looked at all three of her friends, took a deep breath, and began to explain everything...
"SAY WHAT?!" All three of them gasped.
"Are you sure? That might trigger him even more and make him go completely mad." Viperion said.
"That's the whole idea." Ladybug said.
"It doesn't sound like your usual plans, but hey, they always work." Cat Noir stated.
"Now, let's get to it. Cat Noir." Ladybug said.
The others looked at her, ready, but they were also a little reluctant to go through with the plan.
Above the city, Prince Charmcaster was flying around, trying to find Luka and Marinette.
At the Dupain-Cheng house, Marinette was standing atop the balcony, looking at the sky in delight.
"I'm wishing (I'm wishing) for the one I love... To find me (to find me) today (today)!" Marinette sang aloud up to the sky, a smitten, enamored look on her face.
Hearing her voice, Prince Charmcaster turned around and saw Marinette on her balcony.
"I'm hoping (I'm hoping) and I'm dreaming of the nice things (the nice things) he'll say (he'll say)!" Marinette sang.
He drove his broom towards her balcony.
Marinette, seemingly having not noticed the imminent danger, jumped down into her room from the skylight. She locked it.
Prince Charmcaster landed on the balcony and he got off his broom. He used it to tap on the window.
"Knock knock," He said. "Sorry for dropping in on your balcony. Dreadful etiquette, I know."
"Go away!" Marinette shouted.
"Aw, hiding in your room? How cute. Come on, open the door and come out." Prince Charmcaster asked.
"No, I mean it! One scream and the superheroes will be here to take you down!" Marinette shot back.
"All's forgiven, chérie," Prince Charmcaster said as he lifted his wand and started tapping it in his hand. "Come on, get dressed. You're my date tonight."
"For what, exactly?" Marinette asked.
"Oh, nothing... Just the demise of Luka Couffaine!" Prince Charmcaster said before music started turning up in the background. He charged the wand.
He turned to the door and looked down, hoping to see Marinette, but she wasn't in sight.
"You chucked me out like I was trash! For that, you should be dead! But, but, but-" He sang before waving his wand as if he were giving a scolding finger to a child. "Then it hit me like a flash: what if Luka went away instead?"
He knelt down and slammed his hand on the window, singing, "That asshole is the key! He's keeping you away from me! He made you blind, messed up your mind, but I can set you free!"
Inside, Marinette looked panicked.
"You left me and I fell apart, I punched the wall and cried! Bam, bam, bam!" Prince Charmcaster sang as he pounded the floor/window with his fists. He lifted his hand before looking at the window, looking like the twisted, enamored boy he was. "Then I found you changed my heart and set loose all that truthful shit inside!"
He lifted his wand and conjured up another spell, this time in blue, before singing, "And so, I made a bomb! Tonight, his home is Vietnam! Let's guarantee he'll never see his Senior Prom!"
"I was meant to be yours. We were meant to be one. Don't give up on me now. Finish what we've begun," He sang in a more soothing voice as he conjured an image of him as Félix with Marinette in his ideal situations together. "I was meant to be yours!"
He went back to his insane state and turned back to the sky and sang, "So when that boat of his goes BOOM with that prick stuck inside! Pwch! Pwch! Pwch! In the rubble of his tome, I'll plant a note explaining why he died!"
Marinette was covering her ears as she listened to the contents of the note, she was crying, and she was trying not to raise her voice and alert Prince Charmcaster.
"We'll watch the smoke pour out his doors! Bring marshmallows, we'll make s'mores! We can smile and cuddle while the fire roars!" Prince Charmcaster sang as he used his magic to create an image of him and Marinette roasting marshmallows over the burning Liberty.
"I was meant to be yours! We were meant to be one! I can't take it alone! Finish what we've begun!" Prince Charmcaster sang from above.
Down in her room, Marinette looked around to find something. She saw something off-camera and she went to go and get it.
"You were meant to be mine! I am all that you need!" Prince Charmcaster sang as he conjured up an image of when Marinette gave Félix the tie clip. "You carved open my heart! Can't just leave me to bleed!"
He shouted to the window in song, "HEY MARINETTE! Open the, open the door please. Hey, Marinette, open the door!"
He stepped closer and asked, "Hey Marinette, can we not fight anymore, please? Can we not fight anymore?"
Seeing she wasn't answering, Prince Charmcaster sang, "Oh Marinette, sure you're scared, I've been there! I can set you free!"
He got angry when he realized he was gonna have to use force, and sang, "Hey Marinette, don't make me come in there! I'm going to count to three!"
He raised his wand, and sang, "One, two... Fuck it!"
He blasted the window with the wand, forcing it open, and he jumped in and landed on the bed. However, he gasped, his eyes wide when he saw the scene before him.
There on the floor of the room was Marinette, lying on her side with her mouth open and her eyes closed. There was a bottle of sleeping pills in her hand its contents were spilled.
"Oh, mon dieu... No..." Prince Charmcaster gaped as he covered his mouth in shock. Tears were leaking down his face. "Dear Marinette!"
Even Shadow Moth, who was watching the whole thing through Prince Charmcaster, was looking at the scene in horror.
"Please don't leave me alone!" Prince Charmcaster pleaded. "You were all I could trust... I can't do this alone..."
But he lifted his face up and roared in song, "STILL, I WILL IF I MUST!"
Instead of hesitating, he climbed out of the skylight, got on his broom, and flew off, tears running down his face and his rage running high.
Inside the bedroom...
"Reality!" A voice said, and in a puff of smoke, the room changed back to normal, "Marinette" disappeared, and in the room was Rena Rouge.
She pulled up her flute phone, and she was in a three-way phone call with Ladybug and Cat Noir, both of whom were using their phones to monitor the situation through Rena.
"He flew out of there in hysterics," Cat Noir stated. "Excellent work, Rena."
"Thanks, but I think it worked a little too well," Rena admitted. "Now he's on a homicidal rampage. He's headed for the barge."
"Rena, recharge and meet us over there." Ladybug instructed.
"Got it." Rena said before hanging up.
At the Liberty, Cat Noir had evacuated the rest of the band and gotten them to safety before ducking into hiding. Ladybug jumped in and landed next to him, saying, "Everyone off the boat?"
"Yep," He said. "Now to wait for Prince Charmcaster!"
"You don't have to wait long - look!" Viperion said from his hiding spot.
Prince Charmcaster, a crazed, enraged look on his face, was rocketing himself all the way to the boat, his wand up in his hand and charging a black magic spell.
"LUKA! CONSIDER YOURSELF DEAD!" He roared as he fired up the spell.
"Second Chance!" Viperion said as he activated his power and marked down that point in time.
The three heroes ran out of hiding and started fighting. Prince Charmcaster was blindly firing spells at them, each dodging or ducking.
Cat Noir used his staff to knock the wand out of his hand, and Ladybug caught it. She took the bedsheets and was about to use them as intended. Before she could, though, Prince Charmcaster balled some magic dust in his hands and blasted it at Ladybug, turning her into dust and leaving her earrings behind.
"Second Chance!" Viperion said, pulling his bangle back and resetting.
Ladybug used her yo-yo to pull the sack off Prince Charmcaster's hip and throw it on the other side of the deck. But using his wand, he created a blue magic spell and fired it at Cat Noir, turning him into an actual cat and causing his ring to fall off.
"Second Chance!" Viperion said, resetting again.
Rena Rouge arrived on the scene this time, and jumped in and threw her flute at Prince Charmcaster, hitting his hand and causing his wand to fall into the Seine. But as she tried to reach for the tie clip, the villain blasted her with his magic, causing her to turn into an apple, and her necklace was lying on top of her.
"Second Chance!" Reset.
Viperion alerted the others and said, "Hold it! I know what to do! You need to get rid of both the sack and the wand at the same time."
Rena Rouge arrived and Cat Noir said, "Perfect timing. Let's get to work."
The next round went as follows: Viperion was out in the open, openly teasing Prince Charmcaster with his music. When the villain tried to spell him, Rena Rouge once again whacked his hands with the flute to get rid of the wand. Ladybug used the bedsheets, turned them into a rope, and used it like a lasso to bind Prince Charmcaster's hands.
"Cataclysm!" Cat Noir roared as he turned the magic dust sack into ashes with his ring hand.
Viperion approached and snagged the tie clip off Prince Charmcaster before using the tip of his lyre to fracture it. Out came the akuma.
"No more evildoing for you, little akuma," Ladybug said as she spun her yo-yo. "Time to de-evilize!"
She caught the butterfly and brought her yo-yo back before opening her yo-yo and releasing a white butterfly, "Gotcha! Bye-bye, little butterfly!"
She took the bedsheets and threw them up in the air, shouting, "Miraculous Ladybug!"
Her suit changed back and the magical ladybugs repaired all the damages caused by Prince Charmcaster. Said villain changed back into Félix. He looked up at the scene.
"Pound it!" The four of them said together as they shared their fist bump.
Back in his lair, Shadow Moth said, "Fairytales may always have a happy ending, but mark my words, Ladybug, your story is going to become a Shakespearean tragedy!"
The window of his lair shut closed...
Ladybug opened her yo-yo again and pulled out a Magical Charm.
"Félix," Ladybug said as she gave him the charm. "This is a Magical Charm. Keep it with you at all times, and this way Shadow Moth won't be able to akumatize you again."
Félix seemed a bit down, saying, "Thank you..."
"Great illusion back there, Rena," Cat Noir praised. "Honestly, you really had me going."
"Yeah, I seriously thought Marinette was dead." Viperion agreed.
Félix looked up in surprise.
Hearing a beeping noise, Ladybug touched her earrings and said, "Oops! Gotta go! Bug out!"
The four heroes left the boat in a hurry (but Cat Noir hid around the corner). Once they were out of sight, Félix looked at the charm, smirked in cruelty before throwing the charm over his shoulder and it landed in the water. He got off the boat, unaware that Cat Noir had seen the whole thing.
Later on, Marinette was in Luka's embrace and they were sitting on a bench together, with Marinette's head on her boyfriend's shoulder.
"I love you, Luka." Marinette said as she snuggled up against him.
"I love you, too." Luka said as he kissed her cheek. Marinette giggled.
Nearby, Adrien was watching the scene in a somewhat depressed manner.
"What's the matter, Adrien?" Plagg asked as he ate some cheese. "Shouldn't you be happy at seeing your friend in the arms of her boyfriend?"
"I... I don't know why, but I can't feel happy about it," Adrien admitted. "It's like I feel this pit in my stomach when I see them together like that."
"Sounds like you're jealous, kid." Plagg teased.
"Me, jealous?" Adrien asked.
"Adrien!" Félix called, and Plagg hid.
"Félix," Adrien sighed as he looked at his cousin. "Are you okay after that?"
"Yeah, I am," Félix said. "Better, actually."
Adrien smiled before saying, "That's good. So, um... You gonna leave Marinette and Luka alone?"
Félix looked at the scene before scowling and saying, "No. In fact, I actually think it's going to be war between the three of us."
"Wait, three of us?" Adrien asked.
"Yes," Félix said as he turned to his cousin. "Luka, me... And you, Adrien."
"What? Me?" Adrien questioned as he pointed at himself.
"Right. I can see that you're getting jealous over them." Félix stated, thumb-jerking at the couple.
"Come on, Marinette's just a friend." Adrien said, shaking his hands in protest.
"Deny it all you want," Félix said as he began walking past his cousin. "But at the end of the day, Marinette will be mine."
Adrien's eyes narrowed at his cousin as they walked different ways for the time being.
Marinette and Luka were snuggling each other, like they were in their own world. Luka was tempted to break out his guitar, but instead, he and Marinette shared a kiss with each other.
End card:
In the middle and bottom center, Marinette and Luka are holding each other closely with loving looks, pink bubbles surrounding them, and their respective kwamis hovering over them. Adrien is on the bottom left, sadly/angrily looking at them over his shoulder, surrounded by dark blue while Plagg is eating cheese. Alya's on the bottom right with her arms crossed and a big smile on her face, Trixx hovering over her, and watching the scene with delight while surrounded by orange. Above the entire scene, Félix has a Lila-esque, nasty smile on his face, he's colored in purple, and on the right, he has a picture of Marinette and Luka in hand with Luka crossed out in red ink while Marinette's face has a heart around it. On the top left, the Magical Charm was at the bottom of the river.
Okay, well that's that. Hope this satisfied everyone! Also, I made a reference to Heathers: the Musical in here. Hope you caught it!
