"I'm nervous. God, Jisoo. What should I do?"
Jeonghan can't stop fidgeting. He's in a store with his best friend. In a mask, in a hoodie, they're looking for a gift.
"What are you, Han? A high schooler? You're just going to buy your long-time boyfriend a gift. Is that really hard?"
He looked at the racks once again. The slip-ons were there, a thing his boyfriend has been eyeing on for a long time. He wants to buy it for his lover's upcoming birthday but something holds him back.
He's shy.
He has always been used to Cheol pampering him and taking care of him. But of course, relationships don't work that way. It has to be give and take. That's why he decided to do something this year for him.
"Fine, fine. I'm gonna buy this and give it to him."
Jisoo chuckled. "It's really rare to see you flustered. It's nice."
Jeonghan rolled his eyes. "Are you teasing me?"
"No, no. It's just… very refreshing to see. You rarely get distracted and shy and all of that. And it's all because of Seungcheol."
Jeonghan smiled. He can't help it. He's so in love with his man. It's been years since they were together but his feelings just grew stronger as time passed by.
Jisoo and Jeonghan left the store. It's only three days before Cheol's birthday and somehow Jeonghan became excited. He wants to make it really special.
Well that's what he thought. It's only one day before Cheol's birthday and he's chickening out.
"Goddamnit, Jeonghan.", He whispered to himself.
He thought tens, hundreds of times about how he would give his gift to Cheol but in the end, he decided to just let his manager give it.
"Jeonghan… why me? As far as I'm concerned I am not Seungcheol's boyfriend."
Jeonghan swallowed his laugh. It's a funny, sarcastic remark but his nervousness took over him. "Just… please. I am still planning to do something for him aside from this… Please help me out. I know this is lame but I'm trying here…"
His manager just sighed. "Fine. Tell me what you need."
After wrapping his gift, he decided to write Cheol a letter--a short one since this was not really his thing. But even if it's short, he made sure that Cheol would get the message, especially since he used his love sign for him--Ddaddu.
Han was so happy when he watched Cheol in his Vlive. They can't meet yet due to their hectic schedules and the quarantines. The only time they can see each other again is during their fan meeting event. He felt so giddy since it's name that Cheol has been talking about him all throughout the video.
"Did you really like it that much?", Han asked Cheol through a phone call right after the live.
"Of course!", Cheol exclaimed. "It's from you. I don't care whatever you give me. All that matters is it's from you."
Han melted. Cheol has always been a sweetheart, he never held back in making Han feel loved and secured. But sometimes Han is still taken aback. Sometimes he still can't believe how lucky he is to have him and this moment is really one of those times.
"Cheol… I love you. So much. And I'd do anything and everything to make you happy. Hmm?"
"Baby…", Cheol's voice softened and deepened. "I love you, too. Thank you. Thank you for everything."
Han sighed deeply. He really loves Seungcheol so much. "I'll see you later, honey."
"I'll see you, love. Take care."
Jeonghan hung up with a smile on his face. That's not only his surprise for his boyfriend's birthday. He has another one, a spicier one. And now he has the courage to do it.
All because he loves Seungcheol.
