Long ago before the universe was created, before the big-bang, there were 7 singularities. 6 of those singularities were forged into stones after the universe exploded into existence. These were now the Time stone, The Mind Stone, The Power Stone, The Soul Stone, The Space Stone and The Reality Stone. These were together known as the Infinity Stones. Each Stone emobodied an essential aspect of existence. These were then dispersed throughout the cosmos.
→ The Reality Stone was one of the six infinity stones, the remenant of a singularity that predates the universe, representing the fabric of reality. With the reality stone reality could be whatever its weilder desired. It was a liquified dark red fluid called the Aether, later found by the dark elves who were then defeated by Bor, the king of Asgard & hidden away.
→ The Space Stone was the remenant of a singularity that predates the universe and represented the element of space. This stone was housed within the Tesseract & handed over to the Asgardians. The Asguardian king then hid the stone on earth, for no one would suspect a force so powerful to be on such a primitive planet.
→ The Mind Stone was a remenant of a singularity that predates the universe, which governed over the fabric of mind. It was housed within a scepter that ended up in the possesion of Thanos. The tip of the scepter if in contact with a person could make the person a mindless follower of the weilder.
→The Power Stone was the remenant of a singularity that predates the universe. It was a powerful weapon capable of granting it's weilder great, cosmic power, but was highly likely to kill any organic beings it touched. It was used by 'Eson The Searcher' until it was hidden for a millenia on a planet Morag inside the Orb.
→ The Time Stone had the ability to manipulate time even in places 'beyond time', like the dark dimension. It was contained inside the eye of Agamotto under the protection of the 'Masters of the Mystic Arts', on Earth.
→ The Soul Stone was one of the infinity stones, the remenant of a singularity that predates the universe. It was hidden on the planet Vormir. It is said that the stone had a certain wisdom. To make sure whoever possesses it understood it's power, the stone demanded a sacrifice. You must lose that which you love to obtain the stone. A soul for a soul.
The seventh singularity however, manifested into something different. It broke down into several different parts and each part manifested into a miraculous. These were magic jewels. Worn as jewelery, they had the ability to transform their wearers into animal themed, super powered beings. Each miraculous was attached to a kwami. Kwamis were divine beings who embody 'abstract' concepts. They were the ones who gave powers to their wearers. The miraculouses were housed on Earth for its protection for it housed not 1, but 2 infinity stones and the humans were powerless against the other more intelligent and stronger life forms. An 'Order of the Guardians' was was formed and they were given the responsibility to protect the miracle boxes and hand the miraculous over to the worthy to protect Earth against the Dark Forces. Two of the miraulous however were more powerful than the others. They were the earings of the ladybug that granted the power of creation and the ring of the black cat that granted the power of destruction. The two were a part of the whole, the yin and yang, so their weilders would have to be chosen in such a way or chaos would follow. However, when the two miraculouses were unified, they would grant their weilder one wish, any wish. However the wish would come at an equal and opposite cost.
