“Where did you say you saw it?” Neal calls out as he makes his way upstairs through Mr Gold’s Storybrooke home.
Emma stands at the open front door, arms crossed and foot tapping on the threshold. She doesn’t want to take one step inside, knowing how protective Gold is of his privacy and his things, because…well, they are technically stealing, even if he is family.
“It was in one of the guest bedrooms, just propped against the wall.” She looks about the empty hallway, before calling up the stairs, “Are you sure your dad won’t mind us being in here? We can get a mattress for Henry anywhere.”
There’s absolute, utter silence for the briefest moment, and Emma holds her breath. There’s a word or two dimly spoken above her head somewhere, and then Neal’s coming back down the grand staircase like his ass is on fire.
“So?”
He swipes at his nose, eyes looking everywhere but at her as he directs her onto the porch and shuts the door soundly behind him.
“We’ll go buy a mattress.” He finally glances at her. “That one was, uh…ocupado.”
