Mikey had made a new friend after saving him from a sure beating from Kiyomaza. Well, he had already been kicked in the ass, but it could have been worse.
Takemitchy wasn´t an ordinary person. He didn't have the physical strength to take on just anyone, a fact that led to him getting punched in the face in a row. Nor was he noted for his beauty like Baji and Chifuyu or his fashion style like Mitsuya, but Takemichi had the courage and that was more than enough for Mikey to have him by his side.
One Saturday when the atmosphere was very quiet, Mikey decided to invite his friends to hang out at his house and have dinner together. That's how Mitsuya, Baji, Chifuyu, the Kawata twins, Draken, Mikey, and Takemichi ended up together one Saturday night.
Everything was going well, the guys were talking, laughing, and playing video games (while cursing a lot) as they waited for the pizza delivery to arrive. The last to arrive was Draken and he didn't arrive alone, he was accompanied by many bottles of sake.
The boys were part of a city gang, they drove their motorcycles, owned a part of the city, and liked to settle their affairs with blows. However, the occasions on which they had consumed alcohol were minimal, to say the least.
"The one who gets drunk first loses" Baji was the first to grab a bottle and drink it. He was followed by Chifuyu, as usual. And then the twins and Mikey. Takemichi didn't grab any bottles, he was having a mental debate on whether to drink or not.
"Courage Takemitchi, just one bottle" Draken encouraged him. Nervously Takemichi scratched the back of his neck as he let out an awkward laugh "I've never drunk before."
"Neither have we, there's always a first-time" Mitsuya spoke before taking a drink.
Those words were enough to convince him. The taste was a bit bitter, but no one had the balls to complain because he would come off as a weakling.
It was enough two bottles for Baji's spirits to rise even more "Let's play never have I ever!" he exclaimed as he slammed his hand on the table. He gave everyone a defiant smile.
"How we play?" Smiley spoke up.
"It's easy, in turn, we will go around saying actions and add the phrase never have I ever at the beginning. If you ever did what is said you have to drink from the glass" It was obvious from Mikey and Takemichi's faces that they didn't understand anything.
"Let's see" Chifuyu began "I'll give you an example, so you understand, never have I ever be part of a gang".
"Since we're all gang members we have to have a drink" Draken raised his bottle to emphasize the point
"Ahhh I get it" Mikey drank
"Well, I'll start" Baji settled back in his seat smiling " Never have I ever bear the shit out of a person"
Everyone rolled their eyes and drank except Takemichi, he took a lot of beatings, he didn't give them.
"Takemitchy I'm going to teach you how to deal out beatings, we start on Monday" Baji pointed at him.
"My turn, Never have I ever get rejected by a girl" Smiley spoke before everyone burst out laughing.
"What motherfuckers" Angry gave them a dirty look and was the only one to take "You just wanted to make me look bad asshole" Smiley laughed so hard he fell off his chair, Mikey started to make fun of Angry and the rest covered their mouths in an attempt (failed) to calm the laughter.
"Okay hush, my turn" Mikey spoke, " Never have I ever felt attraction for a friend's relative sitting at this table".
Takemichi choked on his saliva, Smiley started laughing loudly and the others looked at Draken attentively.
"Aren't you going to drink Ken-chin?" Mikey challenged him with his eyes.
Draken took a big sip from his bottle without taking his eyes off Mikey.
"Pretends to be shocked" Chifuyu muttered lowly. Mitsuya spat out the liquid in his mouth with laughter.
"Mitsuya! You too?" Mikey abruptly stood up from his chair looking at him in surprise
"No! I was just drinking because I wanted to, that's all!"
"Yeah that's all" Baji looked at him sideways.
"Shut the fuck up already" Draken waited and they all fell silent "I'm going, Never have I ever kissed a girl".
Mitsuya, Draken, Mikey, Smiley, and Angry took a sip of their drinks. Baji and Chifuyu just looked at their bottles and didn't drink.
"Baji, months ago you excitedly told me that you gave your first kiss don't be a cheater and swallow" Mikey pointed it out.
"Who said I kissed a girl?".
Silence
"And you Chifuyu?" Smiley looked at him "The same case" he muttered while playing with his fingers without looking up.
"Did you guys..." Takemitchy pointed at them with his hand.
"That's none of your business" Baji pointed at him "Why you didn't drink? You have a girlfriend!"
Takemitchy bristled at the looks he was getting. He had never kissed Hina even though he had been planning to for a long time.
"I never actually had my first kiss."
That sentence caused chaos for the next few days.
Apparently, Takemitchy's innocence was like a magnet for the Toman's ringleaders. From that night on Mikey was glued to Takemitchy, always calling him for company, sometimes taking him out of class to spend time together and that's not all, when Mikey had the chance, he would bring his mouth within inches of Takemitchy's face.
Draken wasn't particularly interested in Takemitchy's lack of experience, he found it cute in a way, not in a loving way, but in a brotherly way. What he did find interesting was Mikey's eagerness to steal Takemitchy's first kiss. It would seem that since that night Mikey had been enchanted by Takemitchy and Draken was afraid of his short friend committing follies.
Then there was Baji and Chifuyu who were trying to convince Takemitchy that the best first kiss ever would be a kiss of three with them. The twins supported the idea and encouraged Takemichi to say yes.
"Imagine feeling four lips instead of two, heaven buddy" that the last comment from Baji earned a withering look from their commander.
Mitsuya couldn't care less who Takemitchy would be the one to have his first kiss with. He really enjoyed the show and the tension in the air on the subject, so for more fun, he started the betting with his squad, which then spread to the other squads. The first division was firmly behind their captain and vice-captain, while the rest of the divisions were confident that their commander Mikey would be the winner.
Spoiler at the end: none of them won.
Emma found out about the bet and was horrified, partly because of the number of boys Takemitchy had behind him, but even more so because he still hadn't kissed Hinata. So, one day after school, Emma invited Hinata over to talk about the bet that ran in Toman.
Emma didn't know exactly how that news was received by her friend, as Hinata just laughed and then apologized because she had to leave.
The day after the conversation with Emma, Hinata headed to the shrine where the Toman meetings are held. She knew it was meeting day, she waited patiently for Mikey to end the meeting to walk towards her boyfriend.
"Hina what are you doing here, walking alone at this hour? It's dangerous" Takemichi quickly approached her with a worried look.
Hinata melted inside, he cares too much about her.
"I'm fine, nothing's wrong I just missed you" with a smile Hinata took Takemichi by the hand and started to swing.
Instantly Takemichi became nervous. It took him a long time to gather courage to hold her hand while they were alone. Hinata was doing it so naturally and nonchalantly that it made him even more nervous. Besides, he felt the gaze of almost all Toman on them.
"A-ah we-well, I missed you too" Takemichi stuttered half of the sentence while blushing slightly.
"How cute is love" Smiley exclaimed clasping his hands together, a trademark smile gracing his face.
Without letting go of her boyfriend's hand, Hinata turned around "Hey guys how are you?"
"Hi, all good."
"How are you Hinata."
"It's good to see you again Hina"
"Hi hi!"
Almost everyone responded, except for Angry, Baji who just waved his hand, and Mikey who just looked at the couple without any expression on his face.
Hinata was nervous about what she was about to do, she wanted to make it clear in front of them that Takemichi was her boyfriend, and she would be his first kiss. However, it was also her first kiss, and she was afraid of ruining it.
"I don't think I have anything else to do here, let's go get something to eat, and then I'll walk you home" Takemichi murmured lightly to Hinata. She nodded and smiled.
"See you" Takemichi raised his hand "Bye Mikey-kun, Draken-kun" he nodded towards them as he walked past them.
"Bye guys" Hinata copied the gesture "Bye Mikey, oh and by the way, I win" Mikey received Hinata's defiant look and triumphant smile as he waved goodbye to her.
"You didn't win yet, nor will you" Mikey replied.
Draken, Mitsuya, Smiley, Baji, and Chifuyu were trying their best not to laugh at the exchange of words.
"What are they talking about, because you two are competing?" Pure confusion was plastered on Takemichi's face.
"Nothing" Hinata and Mikey replied at the same time without cutting the staring competition they were having.
Hinata smiled wickedly and turned to her boyfriend "Nothing you need to worry about sweetie, come on" Finishing the sentence, Hinata rose on her tiptoes and left a light kiss on Takemichi's mouth. Hopefully, it lasted a second, it was just a squeeze of the lips, but it already counted as the first kiss for both.
Several gasps could be heard all around and a small scream Mikey let out.
"No! No! No! No! “a chorus of many denials began to echo.
Mikey clutched his head in denial "That was cheating!"
"No! It's not, because he's my boyfriend, yours was going to be cheating!"
That's how chaos broke out. Hinata and Mikey were arguing, while Mitsuya was collecting money from the gang members still in the shrine. Draken was the only winner as Emma told him to bet on Hinata, on the condition that he use the money won to take her on a date. Mastermind.
Chifuyu was the only good man to approach the Takemichi lying on the ground to make sure he was okay, he fainted. Hinata's kiss and nickname sweetheart was too much for his sensitive and big heart.
