Danger! Goemon and a Wyvern's Pure Anger
"Tell us...what is Lupin's weakness?"
Goemon cracks one eye open to glare at the two people that were in front of him; Wolf and Rose. In the corner of the chamber they were in, were two Great Baggi's, watching their masters interrogate him.
He had been kidnapped when he went to take a dip in one of the hotsprings in the country that Lupin recommended. He also suggested of letting his wyvern Nagami, an Acidic Glavenus, join him. But the brute wyvern simply declined and decides to guard instead, waiting for his master to come back out for more training. As much as Goemon loved the wyvern's loyalty, he still felt guilty that the brute wyvern was not relaxing when he does. Nearly every day, the two would either meditate or practice. He wants the wyvern to relax, but he is asking so much from Nagami.
And now here he was in an abandoned castle, his wyvern nowhere to be found, chained up and being tortured repeatedly to make him spill of what was the infamous Lupin the III's weakness. And he did not break, despite having lashed out by whips, bruised up and being bitten and slashed by the Great Baggi's.
Goemon does not say a word, simply just glaring at the two people in front of him. Wolf then looks at Rose, giving her a nod, to which she nods back and exits the chamber, one of the Great Baggi's following her.
Wolf then whistles for the other wyvern, to which it perked his head up and stood, standing beside Wolf.
"I'm giving you one more chance...what is Lupin's weakness?" Wolf asked, the fanged wyvern baring it's teeth and hissing at the samurai. Goemon looks at them before spitting out blood before a weak smirk appeared on his face. "...you'll have to kill me if you want the answer...." He stated. Wolf then sighs before whistling a command once more, the fang wyvern growling loudly before sinking his teeth into Goemon's arm.
Goemon's breath hitched at the bite from the fanged wyvern, but he could not push nor fight back after being bounded by his feet and hands. The fang wyvern lets go before letting out an echo roar, smaller Baggi's coming into the room, hissing and roaring as they wait for the command of the Great Baggi. The fanged wyvern looks at Wolf, letting out a gruff, to which he nods.
The Great Baggi lets out a roar and the other Baggi's charged at Goemon.
Lupin and Jigen were trying to find out where Goemon went, unable to track him of where he is at along with his wyvern.
"He said he was going to the hot springs, right?" Jigen asked, trying to use a map of the area to see where he could possibly be. The thief nods, then looks at Jigen's wyvern, a Nargacuga named Shadow just came back from looking for Goemon. Jigen noticed and walked up to the window, to which the Nargacuga just shook it's head, letting out a snort. "Seems Shadow can't track Goemon down...his scent must've been blocked off..." JIgen said, the wyvern simply leaning into his rider's touch when the gunman pets it's head.
Lupin looks up at the sky. "...Red's been gone for a long time too...maybe he found Goemon and Nagami." The thief stated, not seeing his Rathalos anywhere as well. Just when Jigen was about to talk to Lupin, they heard an ear piercing roar. They all turned to see the Lupin's wyvern flying towards them at great speed before hovering, roaring at them. Lupin and Jigen ran out as Red kept roaring at them in desperation.
"You found Goemon?" Lupin asked, to which the Rathalos kept roaring at them before flying away, then hovered again when he was waiting for them to follow. Jigen whistles for Shadow, to which he stood beside him and lets him on his back, but then backed slightly when Lupin got near him. "Shadow, we don't got time for this." Jigen groaned, holding onto the nose the saddle. The wyvern lets out a huff before lowering his back again so the thief could get on.
"Don't worry, Shadow. Once this is over, you can have Aptonoth jerky." Jigen pats the side of the Nargacuga's neck, to which he looks back at Jigen and snorts before going after Red as he flies through the sky at great speed, Shadow running and using the trees to gain up to Red until they got to their destination.
And when they do, they were surprised at the sight.
It was Goemon's wyvern, Nagami.
He was fast asleep, breathing deeply as he was curled up in a tight ball, but also had injuries on his torso, legs and face; long scratches coming from a small wyvern. Jigen hops off of Shadow, to which the wyvern shakes his body rapidly to make Lupin get off quickly; the Nargacuga not really liking anyone riding on his back other than Jigen due to trust issues in the past.
Lupin walked over and saw the scratches, then noticed how there was blue mucus on the ground. He knew what the wyvern was. "This is work of a Great Baggi..." Lupin whispered, Jigen looking at the ground where Lupin was, trying to wake up the brute wyvern. Even Red and Shadow tried to wake the brute wyvern up, but it was no use. "You sure?" Jigen asked.
"Yep...they're known for putting their preys to sleep or use it on other predators to get away...whoever did this owns a Great Baggi, placed Nagami asleep and Goemon as well, but they left Nagami here and took Goemon."
Jigen looks at Nagami, who was breathing heavily in his sleep. He then had an idea before pointing his gun in the air and shoots, the loud bang spooking all the nature around him, but also spooking Lupin, Red and Shadow. "Jigen, what the hell--" He was cut off when the brute wyvern suddenly jolted awake, rolling onto his side and stood up to shake the sleep off. Jigen then smirked. "What? It worked." He said, smirking slightly before placing the gun away.
Nagami lets out a yawn before looking at the two, then stilled and looks around. Where was Goemon? Where was his rider? The wyvern lets out a sad roar, turning around and looks rapidly for the samurai. Lupin had to get in front of the Glavenus to make him look at the thief. "Easy, easy, we'll find him." Lupin said, holding his hand out and managed to place his hand on the wyvern's snout. Nagami snorts at Lupin, but allowed it before perking his head up.
A deep growl rumbles in his throat before charging to a part of the forest, then a yelp from a wyvern was heard.
Jigen and Goemon ran to the source to see that Nagami had a Great Baggi pinned down with one foot, the fanged wyvern struggling to get the brute wyvern off of it. Deep growls rumble in Nagami's throat, baring his teeth as he pressed his foot down further on the wyvern's body, the Great Baggi struggling more and more.
"Lupin, stop him!"
Lupin and Jigen blinked to see someone coming out of the bush, but they were surprised to see Fujiko.
"Fuji-cakes!? What are you doing here?" Lupin asked, but there was a smirk on his face while Jigen looks at her surprise as well. What was she doing here? Just when Jigen was about to ask, Lupin placed a hand on his arm to stop him. Before he could even ask, he could hear Lupin's wyvern and his wyvern growling lowly. This was a threatening roar, something was up.
"Tell your wyvern to get off of Misty! He's hurting her...you wouldn't hurt my wyvern on purpose, would you, Lupin?" She asked, a small smirk on her face. Lupin smirked. "Oh, of course not...but if Misty is here, then where is Snow, your Legiana?" He asked, to which Fujiko silently tensed up, but did well in hiding it. "She's out flying in the south for the winter, you know this..." She smiled.
"I see...so she would be here, wouldn't she? It is near cold temperatures here that's comfortable for a Legiana. And even when it was hot temperatures, they know how to regulate their cold temperatures to keep cool, am I right?" Lupin asked.
Fujiko remained silent. "Why with all the questions? I could have more than one wyvern, you know." Fujiko states, a flirtatious smirk on her face, to which Lupin returned one as well, walking up to her and leaning up against a tree. "Oh, I know...it's just..." He raised his other hand up and placed it on Fujiko's cheek...
...only to pull off a wig, revealing that the woman in front of them was NOT Fujiko.
"...I know for a fact that Fujiko wouldn't go anywhere without Snow; cold temperatures or not." He smirked at her, the mysterious woman scoffing and backed away from him, whistling for her wyvern, to which the brute wyvern lets it go, going alongside the woman and disappearing. Just when Red was about to chase them, Lupin held his hand up in a stop command, the wyvern looking at him confused.
"They'll lead us to Goemon." Lupin smirked before pulling out a small device.
It was a tracker, seeing their location as it moves away from them. "I've placed it on the Great Baggi before they got away. If I'm correct, they'll lead us straight to where Goemon is at." Lupin said, showing the tracker to Jigen, to which he also smirked as well. Nagami looks at them before looking at where the woman and the fanged wyvern ran off to. He catches on the scent, smelling not only Goemon's scent...
...but also his master's blood.
Nagami's sword-like tail slammed to the ground, sharpening up until the hardened acid was now smoothed like a blade before letting out an ear piercing roar, then starts giving chase of the woman and the Great Baggi, ignoring his master's friends telling him to stop. There was only anger in his mind. Pure anger and it wouldn't dissipate until the deed was done;
Rescue his master and defeat his kidnappers.
Goemon was still tied up to a pillar, his hands and feet now tied up in chains as his body was wrapped around the pillar he was bound to. Wolf's Great Baggi just growls loudly as the samurai's blood drips from it's teeth, Wolf standing beside his wyvern. "...you're really going to let yourself die for all this? Just tell me what is Lupin's weakness is and I will let you go; simple as that."
Once again, the samurai was silent, blood dripping from his mouth.
Just when Wolf was about to let out another command to his wyvern, Rose and her Great Baggi comes into the chamber. "I couldn't kill Lupin. He saw through my disguise..." Rose growls before Wolf realized how her wyvern was scratching at behind her ear, letting out huffs and whines from the itchy spot. He walks over and lets out a curse, seeing a tracker device on the wyvern.
"You've lead them to us..."
Rose tensed up before whistling for her wyvern and ran out of the chamber to stop them from rescuing Goemon. That's when the Samurai smirked at him. "It seems that woman is your weakness..." Goemon muttered, the Great Baggi hissing at him to stay quiet and used it's claws to slash at Goemon's chest once more. The samurai winced at the pain, but didn't cry out.
"We haven't much time. This is the last chance. Let us know Lupin's weakness," Wolf asked once more, but it seemed that the kidnapper was also getting nervous that the thief would come in any second to stop this, "If you don't, you will die."
Goemon just glares at him.
"This is the last chance for you too...You can kill me now...But when the chain around my hands is cut off, you won't be alive."
The two stared each other down before Wolf sighed deeply. "You are a fool..." Wolf walks over to grab his sword, unsheathing it before turning back to Goemon. "Go to hell and wait for him...." His eyes narrowed when Goemon simply smirked at him. "Who do I wait for? You?" He asked, his skin pale from the blood loss of the many wounds he received. Wolf raised his hand up to slice him--
The sword was suddenly taken from his grasp.
He stilled when he saw that Goemon was no longer tied up, now using the loose chains to take the sword away from Wolf's grasp, the samurai falling to the ground before getting up slowly, grasping his arm. "The chains are cut! It can't be..." He then stilled more when he saw Lupin revealed himself from behind the pillar, the Zantetsuken in one hand as Lupin glared at the kidnapper.
His expression soften when he turned to Goemon and knelt down to help him sit upright, both hands on his shoulders. "I got here on time, didn't I, Goemon?" He asked, to which he looks over at the thief. He was relief that his friends got to him and were here to help. Despite being weak from the wounds and blood loss, Goemon smirked weakly and nods at the thief, then noticed how some tears were forming in Lupin's eyes.
"...You've been treated terribly because of me....I'm sorry..."
Goemon shook his head and still had the smirk on his face. "I would rather die than to sell out my friend."
Lupin smiled back at him, brushing the hair out of the samurai's face. "...I've never been such a damn fool as you before..." His voice nearly choked at the last part, pulling Goemon into the hug. Goemon was surprised, his eyes widen before he leaned into the thief's embrace, closing his eyes as he lets his entire weight go against Lupin.
Wolf's Great Baggi looks at his master, letting out a small roar before letting out another echoing roar. Other Baggi's started to form in the room, waiting on command as Wolf stared at the scene before him. His eyes than narrowed at what Goemon said earlier. "Friends...nice word...it is a fool who risks his life for this word." He states, to which Lupin turned over to glare at Wolf.
"...it's Wolf, right? That is your real name, right? What you did to my friend...is unforgivable...I'll make you pay for what you have done!" Lupin growls, still holding Goemon. This only made Wolf smirk and his Great Baggi chittering in laughter at the thief's threat. It was already in a pouncing position, about to give out a command. "I don't fear you..." He said--
CRASH!
Wolf and Great Baggi backed up when smoke entered the room until it disappeared, making them both still in fear as a large brute wyvern now stood behind Lupin and Goemon, red eyes glaring down at them as the moonlight shines down on them from behind. Lupin's grip on Goemon tightened slightly
"It isn't me you should fear."
It was Goemon's wyvern, Nagami.
He slammed his tail against the wall of the castle, sharpening it up once more before letting out an angered roar. Wolf's Great Baggi lets out a roar, the other small wyverns going after the brute wyvern to take it down. Nagami roars before slashing at them with his tail, knocking them all out. The Great Baggi roared before running up to him, claws out to dig his claws and teeth into the wyvern's neck. Nagami saw it coming as he grabs the wyvern with his teeth, thrashing him around before tossing him aside to a wall, knocking it unconscious.
Wolf starts to back up from the Acidic Glavenus, having no defense as the monster slowly stalks up towards him, growling loudly while baring his teeth. He raised his tail up and thrusts it forwards--
"Nagami..."
The wyvern stops, the tip of his tail at Wolf's throat as his back was against the wall. Nagami turned his head, growling loudly as he saw Goemon look at him. "No....he's my fight..."
"No way, you're too weak to fight, let alone hold a sword, Goemon." Lupin argued, but then stopped when the samurai placed his hand on Lupin's arm, clenching to his sleeve. "Lupin...please...I beg of you..." He asked. Lupin knows not to challenge Goemon's pride, especially when it comes to his enemies. And he knows that if he still said no, Goemon will still fight either way. "...alright..."
He helps Goemon stand up before handing over his katana, to which Goemon held it tightly between his arm and side and looks at Wolf, who still had his back against the wall from Nagami's tail-like sword from slitting his throat. "Nagami...this is my fight...you did well...but Wolf is my fight..." Goemon stated calmly. The brute wyvern glares at his master, then at Wolf, growling loudly in anger still.
"Nagami." Goemon's voice became more stern. The Acidic Glavenus's growls soften before pulling his tail away from Wolf and backed away, standing next to Lupin, cleaning his wounds. Wolf turned to Goemon that was already in a weak fighting stance, but also pulled out a sword. "...fine then."
Wolf started to charge--
His breath hitches when he felt immediate pain in his back. He didn't get to see Goemon move as the Zantetsuken was now pierced into Wolf's back. "I...incredible..." That was the last thought that ran into Wolf's mind as he drops to the ground, now deceased. Goemon was gasping painfully until his knees buckle, about to drop on the ground when he fell against something warm. He cracks one eye open to see his wyvern using his neck and head to support him, looking up at him with concern. Nagami lets out a low whine, looking at Goemon.
He smirked weakly and pets the top of Nagami's head. "...thank you, my friend..." Goemon's vision blurred and the last thing he remembered was Lupin calling out for him.
Goemon was laying on something soft and warm.
He breathes in deeply before cracking one eye open to see his surroundings. He saw that he was in a bed, most of his wounds bandaged up as the sun was already high in the sky, stating it was somewhere near noon. The samurai takes a deep breath before sitting up, his muscles sore from the torture that he endure for hours. The door to the bedroom starts to crack open, Goemon blinking in surprise as he saw Jigen walk in.
The gunman blinks in surprise to see Goemon awake before smiling tiredly. "Hey, Goemon...how ya feelin'?" He asked, having a tray in his hands that had a sandwich and water. "...like I have been ran over by a Radobaan..." He states, to which Jigen chuckled. "I'm having a feeling that happened before..." He said, to which Goemon smirked as well, taking the sandwich. "How long was I unconscious?" He asked.
"At least three days...most of the wounds healed up, but we're making sure that all of them heal up...so a day or two will be your full recovery..." Jigen shrugged, opening the window to let some fresh air in. Goemon looks at him, Jigen taking his hat off and running a hand through his hair. "Lupin had to make an anonymous call to Pops to pick up the two Great Baggi's at the castle. When Wolf died, Rose killed herself too and that killed the bond with their wyverns. They're on their way to a recovery sanctuary to wyverns that had their bonds broken."
Goemon was alone in thought for a moment until he remembered something else.
Nagami.
"...Nagami...is he alright?" Goemon asked. Jigen looks at him before he looks out the window and lets out a small whistle. There were deep stomps being heard until Jigen backed up, Nagami's head in view as the brute wyvern managed to squeeze his head through the window. "...he hasn't left your side for days. I had to make both Red and Shadow to convince him to go hunt something because he refused to eat." Jigen stated, patting the wyvern's neck as Nagami saw his master awake.
He craned his neck forward and nuzzled the side of his head, a deep purr rumbling in his throat. Goemon smiled sadly, using one hand to pet the wyvern, the purrs growing louder as the wyvern nuzzled and gently nudges the samurai, giving him soft and yet affectionate licks on his cheek.
"...When Nagami tracked your scent, he was enraged...it took Lupin a long time to calm him down to make him come to his senses. I've never seen him get this angry before..." Jigen stated, Nagami glancing at him and snorts. Goemon just smiled sadly, staring at his wyvern. "I have...when I had him for a few months...was not our greatest bonding time together...but we learned from it..."
Nagami purred in agreement.
Jigen watched them and just smiled. "Well...Lupin should be back soon with more medical supplies...we ran out yesterday when we were changing your bandages...try to get some more rest." The gunman said, to which Goemon nods. Jigen soon leaves the room, leaving only Goemon and Nagami. The brute wyvern looks at him and lets out a whine, a sad look on his face.
Goemon looks at him before scratching underneath his chin. "...do not blame yourself of what happened...I do not blame you..." He said. Nagami just whined in response, nudging him and lets out a huff. Before he could say anything, Nagami looped his head around Goemon's, mimicking a hug while purring. The samurai blinked, never witnessing this kind of affection from Nagami before.
The brute wyvern lets out another sad whine.
Goemon closed his eyes before managing to lift one arm up to give his wyvern a hug as well. They were both given a scare of what happened from the past few days. They needed reassurance from each other. "...I will be careful from now on...alright?" Goemon asked. Nagami simply lets out a gruff in response. The samurai smirked and leaned against the wyvern.
They have time to heal. They deserve it.
