“School is boring without her” The blonde said smooth and naturally.
The other three girl’s in front of her smiled.
Earlier that day…
A certain blonde walked through the streets, a bag by her side and a huge grin plastered on her face. Today was going to be another great day for Amelia Watson, looking forward to the conversations she’ll hold with her best friend.
At least that’s what she thought.
Finally, after minutes of walking, she arrives at the school gates where she stands by and waits for her beloved sharky, a nickname given to Gura for having sharp teeth and love of sharks. Amelia remembers taking interest in marine life because of her and giggles.
But after waiting for 10 minutes a voice calls out to her. “Ame!” Amelia turned her head towards it recognizing the voice to be Kiara’s, though she was a bit disappointed it wasn’t Gura’s, but nonetheless she smiled and gave a wave to her friend.
“Morn Kiara” Amelia peeks behind Kiara to see a familiar pink haired girl breathing heavily whilst still holding Kiara’s hand. “Mornin’ Calli”
Calli catches her breath and puts a hand up as a quick wave. “M-morn Watson” Kiara giggles at Calli’s tired figure. “Isn’t my wife so cute?” Kiara asks Amelia, hugging Calli’s arm close.
Amelia nods before smirking at Calli who was red in the face from embarrassment.
“Oh she is” Amelia lets out her gremlin laugh to which Calli glared at her slightly for.
“I- I’m not your wife” Calli stutters out
“Cmoooon Calli, you know you’re going to be my wife someday so it’ll make things easier if you agree early~”
“I-.. Shut it Kusotori” Calli turns her head away to hide her face but is betrayed by her reddened ears. Kiara held in a squeal and turns back to Amelia, eyes widening a tiny bit after realizing the missing girl.
“Where’s Gura?” Kiara asks. Calli turns her gaze back to her friend and girlfriend at the mention of Gura.
“I don’t know to be honest, I’ve been waiting for her..” Amelia replies.
“Oh, Gura? Last I heard from her was when she was teaching me minecraft yesterday, she said she didn’t feel too good so she went offline early.” Calli says.
“Now that you mention it, she didn’t reply to my texts this morning..” Amelia’s face gloomed.
The couple in front of her looked at each other before comforting the saddened blonde.
“I’m sure she’s alright Watson, maybe she just overslept or something?” Kiara nods at what Calli said and pat’s Amelia’s back.
“Come on, you know how dumb your shark is sometimes” Kiara giggles, and the comment she made on Gura made Amelia brighten up a bit. That bright dumb grin always plastered on Gura’s face appeared in her mind.
But as they were about to reassure the blonde even more, a student with dark brown hair wearing a pink jacket on top of their uniform approached them.
“Hey there folks, sorry to break it to you guys but you should head to your class soon. I’m about to close the gates and stuff.” The student explains.
That tiny feeling of dread never left Amelia’s heart. No matter how late it was, Gura would always arrive before the gates would close. All of these details, big or small worried Amelia even more.
And so, Amelia took a seat next to the empty one where Gura always sat at. Her friends on the other hand looked at her worriedly, it wasn’t a usual thing to see the girl be this gloomy.
Class after class, Amelia only got more and more unenergetic. She didn’t feel like doing anything but sulk in her seat. Gura always gave her a reason to study and actually listen to the teacher, but without her it just felt… Useless.
Amelia sighs as the lunch bell rang. The students sat up and did their thing while her three closest friends approached her.
“Hi Ame” Ina waves hello, greeting the gloomy blonde.
“..hi”
“What’s up dawg? You’re usually so… Chaotic?” Calli says, unsure if she used the right word.
“..I don’t know..” Amelia replies.
The three looked at each other and Kiara crouches down next to Amelia’s desk and looks at the blonde.
“Hey? Won’t you tell us what’s wrong?”
“…” Amelia looked at her friends, her eyes tired. “School is boring without her..” She said so smooth and naturally, even though this was the first time she felt like this. She never noticed how much she needed Gura to be by her side always til now.
But then, all three of her friends smiled. “No wonder”
Amelia looks at them confusedly, even tilting her head slightly. “You’re always so happy with Gura beside you, you know?” Ina giggles.
“Here, you can go and visit Gura” Kiara says, standing up and fixing up Amelia’s things for her.
“But.. But what about school?”
“You said it yourself Watson. “School is boring without her”. What’s the point in listening to class if its boring?” Calli smiles and turns around with Ina following.
“We’ll tell the teacher you went back home cause you felt sick, now go to Gura” Amelia’s face brightened up again, she’s finally going to see her sharky after what feels like centuries in those few hours.
“Alright!” Amelia nods at Kiara and gently takes her bag, before sprinting towards the gate.
Her friend’s smile at the quick blonde.
“You think they’ll come back dating tomorrow?” Ina asks the two.
“Hmm…” Kiara puts a finger to her chin pretending to be thinking, before smirking and letting out a giggle. “I’m kidding” She says towards her small act “Of course they’re going to be! I just feel it in my bones!” Calli just sighs at her girlfriend but she couldn’t help but let a smile form on her lips.
“All I hope for, is for the both of them to be alright” Calli chuckles. The other two nod and continued their way towards the teacher’s lounge.
Meanwhile..
In just a few minutes, Amelia reaches Gura’s house and breathing heavily she reaches for the doorbell to press it, but not before hesitating.
‘…Gura…’ Her expression shifts to worriedness.
She shakes her head, going back to her determination and pressing the doorbell.
“G-Gura?? It’s Amelia! I came by to.. c-check on you..???” Amelia wasn’t really sure on what to say, cause all she wanted to do was see Gura.
But then after a few moments of silence, the hurried footsteps echoed and only grew louder. Suddenly, the door creaked open and Amelia’s face brightens up when she see’s Gura’s face.
“A-Ame?” Finally, that sweet melody called Gura’s voice fills Amelia’s ears and goes straight to her heart, causing it to skip a few beats. Amelia replies with a small timid wave as well as a whisper like “hello”.
Gura’s famous grin fills the girl’s face and she opens the gate that was between them.
Once the gate was open, Amelia spared no time and hugged the shorter girl, Gura tenses up and a small squeak from escapes from her.
“A-Ame???” Confused and looking like a tomato, Gura hugs back.
“I missed you..” Amelia whispers to Gura’s ears. Suddenly, Gura relaxed and let herself sink more into Amelia’s arms.
“I missed you too..” She smiles.
A few minutes later the two of them walked into Gura’s home and sat together at the couch.
“So… Why didn’t you go to school this morning?” Amelia asks, her head slightly tilted but her eyes stuck onto Gura’s small figure at the other end of the couch.
“Well about tha- HACHOO” Gura turns her head away just in time to avoid sneezing on Amelia.
“Ah” Amelia giggles and passes Gura her hankerchief who she gladly takes.
“Thanks..” Gura is about to wipe her nose but the sudden smell of Amelia makes her pause to sniff it. Although it was weird, and also hard to sniff with her stuffy nose, the smell of Amelia made her relax into the couch.
“Hmm?~ Is Gura a pervert?~” Amelia teases, her figure getting closer to Gura. Gura’s face however, turned even more red as she realizes she unconsciously sniffed the hankerchief.
“I-“
“I’m just kidding” Amelia giggles, and hugs the shark close. “Go on and rest, I’ll take care of you alright?” Gura sighs and hugs back.
“Alright..”
A few moments passed and Gura’s small and tired voice breaks the silence.
“Hey Ame?” She calls out.
“Hmm?” Amelia hums in reply.
“I love you” Gura smiles, and falls asleep.
Amelia hugs the girl tighter and kisses her forehead, resting her head ontop of Gura’s.
Amelia whispers to the sleeping girl.
“I love you too”
It was as if Gura’s smile grew wider in her sleep.
