“Okay Luz, just like I told you before. Just count one to ten, once you reach ten, you will feel better alright?” Amity said to Luz, worried about her.
“Yeah, okay. One, two, three, four…” Luz continued to count, as soon as she reaches ten, she realizes that the trip is over, they were already in front of the new apartment, along with the movers with their stuff
“Look mija, trust me, everything will be fine alright? We will be fine here, you, me, and Amity.” Camila says to Luz, Luz looks down at her feet, fidgeting.
“Just do the counting exercise Amity taught you, whenever you are starting to feel worried alright?” Camila tells her, she looks at her waiting for a response, and Luz nods at her.
It had already been two years since The Day of Unity. The day Belos and the Titan made it to the human realm, she and her friends fought long and hard for her home, and their freedom and they won. Everything that had happened had been such a blur to Luz, they won it was the end. But for her, it felt like everything had just begun.
“Now mija, I have to set up a few things at my new work. You and Amity can stay here and design our new apartment however you like! I trust the two of you.” Camila says, as she leaves the two inside the apartment, she looks back for a second, with a worried look on her face, but she still leaves the two alone together.
“Wow, this looks, nice, strange, but nice,” Amity said to Luz.
Luz however was lost in thought, all she could think about was how much has happened, how she and her girlfriend are now living under the same roof.
“Hey? Are you still thinking about me living here on earth? I told you before Luz, you shouldn’t worry about it. I chose to be here, remember? We both did.” Amity tells Luz
“Yeah, we did, I’m just worried that you might not be able to adapt well. Or people might look at us funny. Like how will you even go to school???” Luz says as she starts panicking.
“Luz, count…” Amity says, worried about her girlfriend
Luz begins to count to ten, her voice slowly becoming less and less shaky.
“Now, remember what we talked about?” Amity asks as she puts her arms on luz’ shoulders
“Yeah, after we finished our Hexside tracks, even though the government fell. We would stay here on Earth for a year before we get a job so we can enjoy our time first and you can get used to this place.” Luz responds to Amity as if she had memorized their entire conversation.
“Correct! In the meantime, we can do whatever humans do in their spare time! After all, you did receive all that money from your government for saving the world so… We can stay at home, go to the mall, or whatever Gus called it. Or we can…” Amity trails off.
“Or we can what?” Luz asks Amity, with a big smile on her face.
“Or we can go on a date,” Amity says as she curls her hair over her ear, blushing so much that she looks like a tomato, although the words that Amity said hit Luz like a truck, an overwhelming wave of emotions crashed into her, as she kneels on the ground crying, either of happiness or sadness or maybe even both, she just didn’t care, all she cared about was her girlfriend wrapping her arms around her, making her cry even more.
A few hours passed, the two had already started to decorate each room, not even noticing that the sun had already begun to set. And after a long hard day filled with decision making and decorating, Luz lies down on the couch, full of sweat, Amity, however, did not have a single ounce of sweat on her, it was almost as if she didn’t do anything
“It’s no fair! You can still do magic and I had to do some actual back-breaking work.” Luz whines as Amity sits on the floor near Luz’s head.
“Hey, it’s not my fault I can still use magic here!” Amity tells her back,
The two look at each other with the angriest expression they have, and after a few seconds of silence, the tension is broken by the two laughing at one another, when they finish, the door opens and Camila walks into their new furnished apartment.
“Wow, Luz, Dios mio. You did all of this by yourself?” Camila said shocked at what they had done, it was so amazing.
“Well, I did have some help from my awesome girlfriend!” Luz says with a big smile on her face.
“Oh, right I almost forgot that Amity is now living with us. Anyways, come now, let’s eat dinner, I brought Chinese!” Camila says as she brings up the Chinese food she has bought to the table
“Ooh, Chinese! I’ve never had those before! Gus told me once. When I had a small course with him so I can learn more about the human realm.” Amity says to Luz excitedly
“Aww, you learned human realm stuff for me? Amity…” Luz says, happy that her girlfriend for doing so much for her
“Well let’s eat, kids!” Camila says to the two as she begins eating the food, she brought home.
Amity, however, notices that Luz is barely picking up her food, and was once again lost in thought, she almost looked sad, but Amity knew the perfect way to cheer up her sad girlfriend. Amity leans near Luz’s ear and whispers “You looked so pretty today” and with just a few words the sad teen’s spirits were lifted, as she begins to chow down on her food not noticing that she had a massive blush on her face.
“Oh, wow Luz, did Amity say something,” Camila said as she notices what happened
“Uh… It was nothing Mama! I gotta go! Gracias por la comida!” Luz says as she puts the empty cartons into the nearby trash can and heads for her room. With Amity following behind.
“aw, my little girlfriend was so cute,” Amity says as if to tease her.
“you’re cuter so…” Luz retaliates, making Amity blush, she looks for a way to change the subject
“Oh, looks like we have this room all to ourselves! And there is only one bed… I-“ Amity trails off, her decision to change the subject had made it even worse.
“Well, it seems like we can just… sleep together… Hugging… Cuddling…” Luz says as both blush so much that they were as red as the sun.
Even though both were embarrassed, they both decided it would be best to call it a night and sleep, after all, they had done so much work on their new home that day. But, them both sleeping together made them very embarrassed that they almost could not sleep a wink. But Luz decided to put her arm around her girlfriend, and one thing led to another until they ended up cuddling one another. Their tiredness from being so embarrassed ended up becoming the cause for their sleep.
In the other room, however, Camila looks at a picture of Luz and Amity.
“Luz… estoy tan preocupada por ti. Te quiero mija…”
