Chapter Text
When Felix had needed a place to stay for a while, of course Chance had offered. Even so, it was a little difficult believing that Felix was indeed staying with him.
The door to the guest room which Felix was occupying was slightly ajar. Chance pushed it open.
“Hey, Felix?” Chance called out.
Felix, who was laying on his bed, scrolling through his phone gave noncommittal noise of acknowledgment.
Chance looked around the room he had prepared for Felix. He tried to make sure that Felix would be comfortable for the time he was staying, yet there were still a few issues with the room, issues such as just how strangely cold it got. He’d put in a heater, hoping that it would at least make the cold a little more bearable in the evenings and early mornings.
Chance walked over to Felix, and sat down next to him on the bed.
“You’re not too cold here right?” Chance asked.
“Nah, it’s fine.” Felix said.
“That’s good.”
Chance sat there for a bit, eyes wandering around the room once more. He chuckled internally at how just after a few days, Felix had already made the room such a mess, with empty coke cans and dishes littering his desk space. Ah well, Chance thought. It wouldn’t be that big of a deal to clean it.
Chance looked down at Felix who was still just mindlessly on his phone. His long hair was splayed out over the sheets and so close to Chance’s own hand which was resting a few inches away.
Chance felt a strange urge to touch it.
So, stupidly, he did.
He lifted his land and reached over to Felix’s head, lightly carding through his hair.
“Dude, your hair is so long.” Chance said.
When Felix didn’t answer, Chance realized that Felix had stopped looking at his phone and now was looking directly up at him, with a confused look on his face.
Chance immediately pulled his hand away and awkwardly said, “Sorry, that was weird. I didn’t mean to do that.”
Felix propped himself up on an elbow, turning slightly to face Chance, hair falling into his face slightly. Chance wanted to reach out and rush it back.
Instead, he said, “Uh, I’ll go.”
“No wait.” Felix said. He stopped.
Chance waited for him to speak, hoping it wouldn’t be something about how he wanted to move out.
“That...actually felt sorta nice.” Felix mumbled.
Chance didn’t think he heard him correctly. “Wait what?”
“I said it felt nice.”
Chance just stared at him, not believing what he heard.
“Dude, I-fuck.” Felix brushed his own hand through his hair. He took a breath. “So are you gonna do it again or leave? Stop staring at me like that dude, it’s weird.”
At this, Chance laughed. “Okay sure, but maybe move your head up so it’ll be easier.”
Felix laid back down and shuffled back a little so that his head could rest on Chance’s lap. Chance placed his hand back in Felix’s hair. Damn, it was so soft. He brushed it out, starting from the scalp and going down to the ends.
“It’s actually not that long.” Felix said.
“Huh?”
Chance noticed that Felix had put his phone down and was now just staring up at the ceiling.
“My hair. It was longer before. Dude, it was such pain though. So I cut it.”
Chance smiled. “I remember seeing that. It looked nice on you. It looks nice like this though too.”
“It’s growing out again now.”
Chance let his nails lightly scratch Felix’s head and Felix let out a contented sigh.
“Did you just finish streaming?”
“Mhm.” Felix mumbled.
They fell into silence again. It wasn’t as painfully awkward like before, but Chance still felt his heart beating a little too quickly for it to be normal.
Chance would never not be impressed with Felix. It was almost 2 am and he had been streaming since around noon. How he had the energy for such long streams daily, Chance didn’t know. Especially since Felix had quite the unhealthy diet. Maybe Chance should try to make sure Felix ate a little better.
Chance realized he had been staring off into space and shook his head slightly. He looked back at Felix and his eyes widened a little as he saw that he had fallen asleep. Felix’s eyes were closed and his face was relaxed.
Chance smiled. This was a version of Felix that his streams never revealed and now, Chance got to see it.
Chance sat there for a while longer before gently repositioning Felix’s head from his lap to a pillow. He got a blanket, the thickest one he could find, and covered Felix, making sure he wouldn’t be cold when he slept.
Chance yawned and only then did he realize just how tired he was as well. Spending time with Felix had really distracted him. He should really go to bed too.
Standing at the door of the room, Chance looked back at Felix one more time.
“Goodnight, Felix.” He whispered, before shutting off the lights and going back to his own room to sleep.
