Chapter Text

Fushiguro never thought he would be in this situation.

His parents and cousin staring at him with wide eyes open cause he just said that was dating someone.

However…

It happened all because his impulsive thoughts and angry. If his mind was a person, Fushiguro would be on the floor, being punched a hundred times.

“So, who is it? Who is she? He…?” Geto asked silently since nobody in the room was talking. Even Gojo was paralyzed.

“She?” Maki said grinning, “We are all gay here, from far as I know. Spill, Megumi.”

Geto gave her a scared look and Gojo was still. When Satoru was quiet for more than five minutes, something was smelling bad.

He was so fucked up.

Megumi would probably regret of this but the only name that came in his mind was…

“Itadori.” He answered ashamed, looking at his bowl of ramen.

Someone chocked loudly, and Maki laughed. Definitely, he was screwed up.

“Well, that’s not a surprise for me.” The Zenin said giving a shoulder up.

Not a surprise for her? Of course.

In fact he did know, what she meant by not surprising her. Fushiguro liked Itadori, simple. A long time ago he told his cousin that he had feelings for Itadori.

But it was a long, LONG time ago. His attachment for the boy didn’t changed until now, and the only person who knew that was Maki itself.

Maybe that’s why she told that. However, he didn’t know which part was worse: his feelings not being mutual, Itadori being (possibly) straight or the lies transforming in a giant snowball.

Fushiguro looked at his cousin who was with her arms crossed showing a gentle smile, “Congrats, Megumi.” And just like that, the girl came back to eat the food like nothing happened.

Fushiguro breathed relieved, but still… He had to deal with his parents, right now.

“Gojo, are you fine?” Geto, who was sitting on his side touched his husband’s shoulder.

“My son… Is dating his childhood friend?” Satoru said quietly with his head looking down to his legs.

“Yeah…? Are you passing out or something? I swear look at your son, Megumi is pale. I don’t want anyone passing out here.” Geto squeezed his shoulder again, concerned.

Gojo lifted his head and some tears were rolling on his eyes. “It's just like us, Geto…”

Oh, no. Megumi screwed more than he thought.

“Yes, it is.” Geto smiled gently picking his husband’s hands, interlacing them.

“I’m so proud of you, Megumi-kun. I mean, I never thought… you two… But this is good, really good. Why you never told us that you were dating him?”

“You never thought, uncle? Just the way Fushiguro looked at him was obvious.” Maki stared at his cousin and then to the two mans who were sitting in the table, shaking her head in denial.

“It happened two weeks ago.”

“Two weeks?!” Three voices came in unison, disbelieved.

“Yeah… It’s new for us. We didn’t want to rush things. To tell… you.” Fushiguro made a well up excuse, hoping that their parents would believe.

“Oh, Fushiguro. We definitely would not criticize you… Itadori’s good guy.” Geto looked at him softly. “You are dating, and well, fine. Right?”

“Right.” Gojo and Maki said in the same time, the girl nodded with food on her mouth and his other dad affirmed too starting to eat again.

“Sincerely, I’m impressed that you’re dating after Maki-kun, you both almost have the same personality. But Maki is way wors—” Gojo received a slap in his chest from his lover, ceasing his words.

“What’s that supposed to mean? Date after me?” Maki stopped eating with an irritated tone on her voice.

“It means nothing, right Gojo?” Suguru stared at the white haired man, his eyes indicating “Tell one more thing, or I kill you.”

“Sure.” The man lied in front of his niece, getting back to his food that was already cold. “So, Megumi-kun how the things are going between you and him?”

“Fine.”

Ugh, Fushiguro needed to put more effort with his lie, or the mask would fall. Give more details to make it looked real. Looked like he had an actual boyfriend.

“We are still at new at his. So, every little step is important for us. Like this one.”

The raven boy was talking like a compulsive liar. And he was feeling so bad about it. He was lying in front of the people he would trust his life.

Most important of all he was lying to Itadori. One of the most important people that he met since he had the age of 5 years old.

The boy didn’t know his best friend told in front of his whole family that he was pretending to date him. Oh God, that’s was terrible. Itadori would kill him with his own hands, and tell to undo all that farce in the next day.

But he was still there, bored faced, lying shamelessly. Not even once thinking about the consequences.

“They're so cute!” Gojo whimpered emotively, a hand on his chest.

“They're so gay.” Maki looked disgusted with all the tenderness.

“You’re too.” Fushiguro answered to his cousin, pointing at her hypocrisy.

“Yeah, whatever man. We're all gay.” She blinked one eye, grinning to him after. “Ugh, all this talk cooled down my ramen, gosh.” The girl got up the seat in her way to the microwave.

“Wait for me, Maki-kun!” Gojo followed her, letting only Megumi and Geto in the dinner table.

Fushiguro let an air got out on his chest, that didn’t know he was holding.

“Relieved?” Geto was observing him curiously, with his head turned to one side.

“Yeah.” Megumi lied again.

Was he relieved about telling a lie? No.

He was a dead man if everything escaped from his hands in a slip.

“You can count on us, Fushiguro-kun.” Geto gave a gentle smile, talking calmly. “Trust us more you know?”

The last sentence hit his chest heavily.

“Of course, I was only waiting for the right time, sorry for taking this long.” Fushiguro turned away his look from Geto.

What a shame, he didn’t even wanted to face his lies.

“Don’t be sorry. As I said, let’s trust each other more.”

“Yeah…” Fushiguro answered closing his eyes in a second of agony. Why Geto had to be like that?

Suguru was such a reliable person to count with. He gave Megumi’s advices, helped him with this studies, taught him to ride a bicycle, how to trust the right people since he was adopted by him.

Lying to Geto was like a sin. He felt so, so bad. But his impulses talked out loud to tell that his love life was not bad at all and without thinking he throws a bomb, just like that.

And there he was, inventing a fake boyfriend.

He didn’t realize the he made the worst shit of his life, when Gojo came up with the ideia to do a family summer trip. With all the family members — including Fushiguro’s fake boyfriend and Maki’s girlfriend (the only one that was actually dating).

However, before this story unrolls let’s start from the very beginning.

Itadori and Megumi became friends in the night of his birthday. It wasn’t an automatic friendship since Megumi looked like a child with a “long face”, and a kid hard to deal with as Yuuji's grandpa said once.

“Don't get close to that kid, I can feel that he will steal your lunch and punch you in the face.” Wasuke was looking at the window to their new front neighbors that arrived two days ago.

“Punch me?” A six old year old Itadori said innocently.

“Looks like he's hard to deal with. And spoiled.”

“How would you know that, grandpa?” Itadori took a stool, going in the direction of the eldest, getting up on it, wanting to see the new kid too. “He's hair is spiky! Just like mine!” The boy pointed at his own hair calling Wasuke’s attention for that non important detail.

Yuuji was observing in the window where the raven boy had his cheeks stretched by a tall man with white hair and his face completely bored, not caring at all by the man’s action.

"Don’t ask me difficult questions, when you grow up you will understand.” The old man was with crossed arms still looking at the wood window, poked in to a wall.

Itadori looked at his grandpa obviously not understanding nothing he was saying his six year old brain.

Then, something caught the young child eyes. Leaving the house was another man, with a long black hair, kissing the others man cheek.

“Oh.” The man beside him said, like he was surprised too.

“Grandpa, he has only a dad?” Itadori innocently asked.

“Looks like he have two.” Wasuke answered neutral. “But that’s not a problem."

“No?” Yuuji wide his eyes, blinking curiously, like discovered something new.

A new information entered on his brain. Two dads, no problem.

“Definitely not.” His grandpa looked gentle for the child on his side for the first time in the day. “You're too young to understand this.”

“I'm six!” The pink haired boy showed three fingers in each hand pouting at the same time.

The old man laughed at Yuuji. He grabbed a pink tuff of his grandson’s hair squeezing in a caress way. Itadori dazzled with his grandpa’s action, hugged him at that important moment he would remember later on his life.

“Can I say hi to them? Please?” The child asked anxious tapping his little feet on the stool still picking a view from the window.

“Okay. Go ba—“ Wasuke didn’t had the time to finish the sentence because his grandson was already on his way to the door, running for his life to say welcome to the new neighbors.

Itadori ran faster as he could to greet the new child and his two dads.

Two dads! That’s was so cool.

He looked at the two sides of the street walking on his way to the three people who were standing in front of their new house with some paper boxes on the sidewalk.

“Hi!” The pink boy said happily, calling Gojo’s attention.

The tall man with white hair smiled at him, lowering his back to be in the same height as his. “Hi, little one.”

“I'm Itadori Yuuji.” He greeted and smiled for the strange man in front of him.

“I'm Gojo Satoru. I’m your new neighbor.” He extended his hand, taking Yuuji’s little one,  shaking it.

“I know.” Itadori said quickly, looking for the other child, staring at the raven boy. He wanted to say hi to him too. Gojo realized that the boy was searching for something behind him.

Satoru laughed, seeing that Itadori wanted to talk with Megumi. After all, children were just like magnets when they see each other from a distance.

“That’s Fushiguro, my son. And Geto, his dad.” Gojo pointed to them, first to Fushiguro who was with that rest face not caring at all for what was happening on his arounds, and secondly to Suguru who waved his hand, giving a sympathetic smile.

“Hi, two dads! Hi, Fushiguro I’m your front neighbor friend!” Itadori smiled brightly to the raven boy.

The two man gave a nasal laughter smiling at each other because of the cuteness of that little pink haired boy.

“Hi.” Megumi said quietly and apprehensive, with an unfriendly look.

“Sorry, he’s a little shy.” Gojo stood beside his son, still lowered in the kids heights.

“Oh, okay.” Itadori nodded, intimidated by the other boy looks.

“Look hm—Itadori, in a few days is his birthday, so maybe you can come. Now, he’s veeeeery~ tired because of the moving. You talk to him better in the dinner. We can go to your house and invite you.” The man with black hair and a gentle look, affirmed.

Geto — the other dad, Itadori remembered suddenly.

Yuuji moved his head, affirming. “Okay… Bye!”

Itadori made his way again to his home suddenly, excited to tell his grandpa about his encounter with the two dads and a boy who was called Fushiguro.

While the kid crossed the street, Gojo and Geto exchanged glances looking at Megumi.

“Are you sure we picked the right child?” Satoru whispered for his husband. “I feel that he doesn’t like me already.”

Geto stared perplexed at Gojo, going eyes wide open. “We adopted him a week him ago. Of course, he’s feeling lost with us. He will get used to us, the time will fix everything. Don’t say things like this.”

“You and your psychological advices.”

“I'm just saying—“

“Geto-san, Gojo-san.” The raven boy talked, and the first time parents looked at him with fascinated.

“Should I record it? He’s talking with us, oh my.” Gojo was about to take his cellphone but the man beside stopped him.

“What, Fushiguro-kun? Do you need something?” Now, Geto lowered himself to look at his adopted son, giving him one of that soft smiles that Gojo considered one of the most precious things in the world.

“I want to see my room, please." Megumi blinked, simply saying.

“Yeah, sure. Come with us. Let’s go, Gojo.” The man with black hair indicated the door with his head to make his husband open it for them.

In that same day, Geto and Gojo showed his room, and the whole house he was going to live for the rest of his life, discussing some simple rules like cleaning, responsibilities, studies and Megumi listened to all of them, agreeing in silence.

They were his new family and they look like a good one. Even that was still weird having two dads. All the families he had gone was formed by dad, mother and some boring half sister/brother that wanted a friendship with him.

If they’re good, then it’s fine for him. He was being treated well, and had nothing to  complaint about.

Geto and Gojo were good people.

Three days passed, and Megumi’s six year birthday came. The boy was still lost with his parents that were spoiling him with candies, toys and caring for every time step he took.

“What if he’s not liking the toys? He’s not touching any of them!” Gojo and Geto were discussing in the living room table about their adoptive son, taking a morning coffee. “I think we are spoiling him, Geto.”

“Maybe… It’s our first time doing this, and he doesn’t tell anything, either. We are supposed to communicate well, and we can’t read his mind if he just…”

Both men heard a cracking from the stairs and immediately stopped talking. Megumi was taking his steps to the kitchen were his adoptive parents were located. The raven kid stared at them.

“Good morning, Fushiguro-kun.” Geto softly said, waving his right hand.

“Good morning, Geto-san, Gojo-san.” The boy bowed making the mans on the table get up doing the same thing. If this was a way to communicate with him, they would do anything to try to talk with Megumi on his owns ways.

“Happy birthday Megumi! What do you want for breakfast?” Gojo, the tallest man Megumi saw on his life asked with a gentle smile on his face and a hand firmed on his cheek.

“I don’t know.” He said with doubt on his voice. It was something new. What he was supposed to answer?

Gojo sighed loudly for Geto who stared at their son, who was confused. Probably none of his families that he visited asked him that, Suguru thought.

“I will make you some eggs, and Geto, go get some sweet pans in the bakery in the street corner.” Gojo said as he made his way to the fridge to make Megumi’s birthday breakfast.

“Put some clothes on, Fushiguro-kun. I’m sure you will love the pans.” Geto smiled in a way that made Fushiguro’s heart unintentionally warm.

“Okay.” He came back to stairs, turning his back to his parents.

“Whew.” Gojo and Geto breathed at the same time. “You see? Time, Gojo, time.”

“Time… We can get used to it.” Geto nodded his head, smiling again. Gojo gets close to his husband kissing his forehead with affection. “I can buy the cake for him later, leave it to me.”

“Okay.” Suguru agreed, sitting in the table again, while he waited for Megumi to get dressed.

Five minutes passed and there was Megumi with a black hoodie oversized on his sleeves, blue trousers and an all stars with the same color as the sweatshirt.

Geto looked at him in a funny way because the clothes seemed too big for him. The raven boy was with his arms straighten up to roll up the sleeves. Suturu walked in Megumi’s direction to help him with the sleeves.

“You have to do like this. Give me your arms, Fushiguro.” Geto’s was greeted with a vision of tiny arms. “Fold them. Like this.” Accordingly with his words he folded one of  Megumi’s hoodie sleeves. “Now, you do it.”

“Okay.” Fushiguro let his tongue out, making a big effort to bend the other arm sleeve as Suguru did before.

Geto would say that Megumi finished the work poorly, but the boy vision shining like he learned something new stopped him from saying anything. Moments like this were supposed to be appreciated.

“I did it right, Geto-san?” The boy pouted cutely, showing his sleeves bad folded to him.

“You made it right, buddy.” Geto caressed his spiky raven locks, as a confirmation.

And for the first time, he saw Megumi smile. Not brightly, but it was a slightly one.

It doesn’t matter. He saw Fushiguro naturally smiling.

“Let's go.” Geto affirmed, pointing to the door. Megumi nodded, going on his side without saying a word.

The first thing the two individuals see when they’re out of the door, is the pink haired boy riding a bicycle in circles on the street. Megumi is staring at the other kid attentively, however, before Geto could say something to his son, Yuuji’s riding in their direction.

“Hi!” Again, the same smile from four days ago. Bright and heart-shaped.

“Hi again, Itadori-kun.” As Geto greeted the little boy in front of him, he felt something grabbing his legs, and  there was Megumi hiding behind them, timid by Yuuji’s presence.

“What you’re doing?” Itadori asked with the good old children curiosity.

“We’re getting some sweet pans for this guy here. It’s his birthday.” He felt Megumi pushing weakly his pants grabbing in his little hands.

“Oh! Happy birthday, Fushiguro!” The other boy was trying to peek the raven child eyes, but he was covered by his dad legs.

“Thanks.” Itadori heard a low voice from behind the Dad 2 — Geto — he wide his eyes. So Fushiguro knew how to talk?

“I promised to invite you for his birthday, right?” Suguru lowered himself to look directly in Yuuji’s eyes.

“Yeah!” Itadori affirmed.

“You can come by the end of the day, we’re going to eat lots of cake and give Fushiguro presents.” The pink haired boy nodded to all his words, but in all of sudden he goes back ridding the mini bike in direction of his own home.

“I'll meet you.” Yuuji yelled in the top of his lungs when he already crossed to the other side of the street, and already entered in his house.

Geto and Fushiguro looked at each other, curious about the others boy odd behavior. They continued their walk to the bakery to buy the sweet pans, Geto on his side observing the little boy looking attentively to his sides, observing the new neighbors — and new the life — he would gave from now on.

After they bought the food and came home, Geto realized that everything was silent. He set the bag of pans on the table, indicating Fushiguro to sit in one of the chairs. Suguru searched the whole house trying to found Gojo, but any sign of him.

“Geto-san!” He heard the kid call his name from the kitchen, getting back immediately.

“What happened, Fushiguro-kun?” Geto asked, concerned.

“I think Gojo-san left a note. Here.” Megumi showed a yellow paper on the middle of the table.

Geto exhaled relieved. “Thank you for telling me, Fushi.” He took the note, reading.

I will comeback by 7 P.M ;) last hour idea

xx

He felt something weird coming from this “this last hour idea”. Gojo always had some…. strange ideas. In every way.

Geto smiled for the kid who was with his hands extended on the table, examining the kitchen.

“Common' let’s eat.” Suguru took off the sweet pan of the carrier bag, and picking some plates on the cabinets. The boy looked at him, adjusting his posture on the chair.

Taking the eggs that Gojo made from beside the kitchen sink, he sat in front of Megumi giving him a minor plate. The tiny boy hands were holding its sides waiting for Geto to serve him the food.

“This is the sweet pan.” Suguru moved the pan to Megumi’s plate. “I'm sure you will like it. Try it.”

“Okay.”

Fushiguro directed the pan to his mouth, opening it wider as he could. Geto realizing that pan was too big for his child’s mouths he called Megumi’s attention with his hands, telling indirectly to give him the pan. He took a knife and cut the pan in half, offering it again to Fushiguro so that he could eat again.

The raven boy ate the pan in a smaller form chewing slowly, tasting it. After, he looked stunned at Geto, with his eyes open wide like he tasted the most delicious thing in the world.

“Do you want some more?” Suguru asked

“Uhmm.” Fushiguro answered with his cheeks puffed, nodding.

Geto gave him more small chopped pieces of the sweet pan. As the raven boy devoured all of them in an incredible speed he realized that the eggs wasn’t even touched. Feeling bad about it cause Gojo made them in case Fushiguro didn’t liked the pans, he ate all three of them, taking his first breakfast with his adoptive son.

The morning and afternoon passed fast. Geto attended some people online because of his work, and Fushiguro was on his side all the time painting a coloring book, quietly. It was already 4 P.M and no Gojo. He started to get preoccupied, what was all this delay? Last hour idea? Gojo Satoru… What are you doing?

“Geto-san… I like dogs.” Fushiguro talked suddenly.

“What?” Suguro looked for the boy in front of him who was still painting the coloring book.

“I like dogs.” Megumi said again.

“Okay…” Geto furrowed his eyebrows, realizing some odd talk that was happening.

“You asked what I liked one day, so I like dogs. Dogs are cute.” Fushiguro affirmed without looking at Suguru, who was dazzled by his simple words.

“Do you want a dog?” And Megumi got caught. It was so easy to read him.

“Yeah…” The boy slowly stopped to move his pencil on the paper, looking shyly at Geto.

“We can arrange that in the future.” Suguru affirmed, smiling slightly for Megumi.

The boy smiled too, returning the action. Things were getting in place, Suguru thought. They had a small talk but was better than nothing. Really.

Some hours passed and still any signal of his husband. Fushiguro wanted to see TV in the middle time, but slept in the couch in the first half hour. Geto was still watching a japonese animated movie in the screen when he heard a slam on the door. He looked at the watch — 6 P.M — he gets up of the armchair, checking if Fushiguro was still sleeping and there he was, just like an angel.

He runs for the door, opening it founding Gojo with bags and a huge box on his arms.

“Help me, Geto!” Satoru gave him the box in a blinking of an eye.

The box moved.

“Gojo… the box is moving…” Geto observed the object in front of him, carefully.

“Ah, yes. Take a look inside of it.” Gojo made quick steps to the kitchen with the bags who had some food to celebrate Megumi’s anniversary.

“I'm afraid to see it.”

“Don’t, they don’t bite. The woman promised me.” Satoru said distracted removing the food of the bags on the kitchen table.

“They?!” Suguru open the box and there was two puppies dogs. One black and the other one was white.

“Whoof!” A low bark could be heard inside the box, and Geto looked terrified. How?

“How did you know?” Geto asked.

“How I knew what?” Satoru examined his husband’s questioning look.

“That he liked dogs…?” He got close to Gojo, murmuring his words, “Fushiguro told me this today.”

“Look like I guess it right. Geto his coloring books are all about dogs, didn’t you realize that? He asked me to give at least five of them to him.” The white haired man came his attention back to the table.

“You have another eye for this things. I didn’t realize, at all.”

“Not one, but I think I have six eyes. All of them are for you.” Gojo played, blinking for Geto.

“You’re so silly.” Suguru punched the other man arm, smiling childish.

Six eyes? Gojo really had a missing one braincell. Where did he get this from?

Geto observed the puppies in the box with their tongue out looking at him. Fushiguro would be so happy. Definitely he was going to love them.

Another slam on the door.

“Who is it?” Satoru asked.

“Maybe it’s that boy we talked before. I invited him since Megumi doesn’t any friends yet.” Geto explained, dropping the box on the chair taking his way to the door.

“Oh.” That’s the only thing the man could say since he was distracted by organizing on the table.

Suguru made his way to the door, opening it and seeing the most adorable image in his life. Itadori was with some colorful sneakers, black trousers, yellow shirt and a mug on his little hands. The boy was smiling proud, tapping his feet on the floor anxious.

“Hello!” Yuuji was the first to talk, greeting the black haired man.

“Hello, Itadori. Come in. We have to wait a little, because Fushiguro is sleeping we will wait for him to wake up.” Geto answered as he let the child enter in his house.

“No problem! Oh— his present. Grandpa said this was good present. I said no. But here it is.” Itadori passes the white mug to Suguru, getting in the tip of his toes.

“Uh— a mug… Thank you, Itadori!” Geto smiled gently, analyzing the mug and he turned it to the other side there was a dog drawing. Again, he asked how? “But why dog?”

“When he’s mad he looked like an angry puppy. I said it to grandpa Wasuke-san, and then we bought this.” Itadori pointed to the mug. “It’s not a child present, but he said Fushiguro would use in the future and others things I forgot. Sorry.”

“Don't be sorry, Itadori-kun. It’s a great present, I’m sure it will be used well when he grows up.” Gojo smiled at him, assuring.

“Cool!” Itadori cutely opened a smile, looking to all the sides of the house, seconds later locating the TV, “Can I watch it?”

“Yes. If he wakes up, you can come here and warn us?” Geto put his hands on the knees lowering his sight to the pink boy.

“Ya.” Yuuji showed his thumbs up, turning his back taking steps to the other room.

“He's so cute.” Gojo said, hands on his hips, finally putting everything in place so that they could celebrate the raven boy birthday.

“Right?” Geto agreed.

“I think they will be great friends soon. Even Megumi being kind of antisocial right now, I’m sure that Itadori will make him his friend, one way or another.”

“Me too. That boy is the type of insistent. You heard what he said to his grandpa? He’s brave.” Geto talked, looking by the door the pink haired child in the armchair watching some animation that was passing on the TV.

As the first parents changed ideias in the kitchen for almost fifteen minutes, suddenly they heard little steps of the made wood floor.

“He's awake!” Itadori poked up his hands in the door jamb calling them.

Both parents got up their seats quickly going to where Megumi was, followed by Itadori to give him a proper "happy birthday.”

“Happy Birthday Fushiguro!” Gojo and Geto said in unison scaring their son from behind the couch, who was still scratching one eye with a fist because of the sleep.

“Happy Birthday Fushiguro!” Itadori yelled seconds after with open arms.

Megumi got even scared with the others boys presence, observing him curiously, but doing a bored face after.

“Thank you.” Megumi stretched his arms up above his head and yawned, his expression too serious for a child.

“This kid…” Gojo denied with the head.

“Don’t.” Geto slapped Satoru’s arms fast enough for both of the boys don’t realize anything. “Let's go Fushiguro we have a surprise for you.”

The eyes of the raven behind the couch got a strange brightness of curiosity together with Yuuji ones. Getting up from the coach he followed his parents up to the kitchen to receive his surprise present.

“Open the box.” Gojo pointed to chair were it was located.

Megumi took the front, afraid and curious about that giant gift that was in front of him. He asked to Geto a chair were he could reach the box cause it’s was so high for his little tiny arms. The raven boy took the outer and inner flaps out of the box calmly and delicately.

Geto never saw a more delighted look than Megumi was doing in that moment. His blue eyes shining, grabbing the dogs with his hands, showing a full teeth smile like that was the best moment of his life. Itadori was also fascinated with his mouth open.

“That's so cool, Fushiguro!” The pink haired boy got oh his side seeing the dogs but not touching them.

Suguru realized that Itadori wasn’t like any child. He was observing Megumi letting him have his moment, giving space politely. His arms were behind him, watching from far Megumi happy with his new dogs. The majority of child probably would say “Lend me, right now!” or “Can you give it to me?” But the boy was there. Still.

His heart squeezed with the scene. Yeah, Itadori would make his friend.

“They’re my new dogs.” Fushiguro said while the animals were located down in each of his arms.

“I know!” Yuuji smiled again, happy for the other boys present.

Gojo poked his husband shoulder with a small camera, giving it to him to record that moment.

“You want to hold one?” Fushiguro asked, shyly.

Gojo gasped, and Geto thought he was going to die because of the cuteness that was happening there.

“Yeah.” The other child gave his hands to Fushiguro, giving the white dog for him.

And this was the start line of their friendship.

“So cute! Hi, buddy. I’m Itadori.” Fushiguro watched the scene, curious. He looked to the black dog, levitating him just like Yuuji was doing.

“I'm Megumi.” The raven boy connected their noses calmly.

“I’m going to pass out.” Gojo said with a whimpered voice and Geto looked at him who was trying to hide his face with one of his hands.

Suguru was recording and laughing at the same. Everything was happening at the same time. Fushiguro feeling happiness, he making a new friend, his first smile, his first birthday with a family and new pets.

“Did you like it?” Gojo mumbled to Fushiguro who was looking at the dog, doing what it looked like a staring competition between them.

“Yeah, so much. I love dogs.” Megumi adjusted the black dog on his chest holding him like a baby. “Do you like dogs, Itadori?”

“Yes, I like them, but sometimes I like cats too. I had a cat, once. But dogs are nice too. Uhm— I like both…” Itadori started a monologue out of nowhere making the other raven kid confused, because of the many words that were being spilled out of his mouth.

Fushiguro silenced the other boy with his own dog nose on his mouth.

“You like dogs.” The raven boy affirmed.

“Uhmm.” The sound of Itadori’s was muffled, but it was an affirmative one.

Geto stopped recording the scene observing how it was fantastic a chat between two children. Gojo was amazed too on his side looking at the boys talk no senses, in their world. They both at each other smiling for no reason.

“Let's eat!” Satoru interrupted their talk, clapping his hands making the both kids look at him.

“Cool!” Itadori tried to give the white dog to Fushiguro, however, the raven boy denied.

“Stay with him, I can’t hold both of them right now.” Megumi simply said.

“Okay.” Itadori happily responded, following his new friend to eat.

“What that boy did to Fushiguro?” Gojo whispered to Geto who was sitting on his side of the table.

“I don’t know. But let’s keep him around.” He blinked playfully.

“I'm totally fine with that.” Gojo agreed. “Let's sing happy birthday for you and eat the cake!”

“Yeah!” The white dog that was situated on Itadori’s lap while he clapped his hands happily.

“I don’t want to…” Fushiguro shyly said.

“Fushiguro, it’s your birthday! It’s going to be quick! You blink and we will be eating the cake.” Itadori explained, “Granpa Wasuke always says it to me when I am going to take injection on my butt!”

Gojo laughed loudly and Geto covered his mouth. That boy was really precious and innocent.

“Okay…” Fushiguro looked confused at his parents and to Itadori talking about that specific situation.

“One, two, three…” Geto clapped his hands in synchrony ready to start singing the birthday song.

The rest of the night passed well, they singed out the birthday song with an embarrassed Fushiguro, and an Itadori playing with him but receiving a death stare from the other one that didn’t like that type of joke. They ate almost all the food, until their bellies swell up, Itadori some pieces of the chocolate cake just like Fushiguro, Gojo and Geto devoured the spicy japan snacks and two pieces of cake.

“I'm going to explode.” Gojo said, with a hand on his belly.

“Me too, Geto-san.” Itadori murmured with his head leaned on the table.

“I'm fine.” Fushiguro said, his tone totally neutral.

“Of course you’re.” Gojo gave him a tongue, playing with Megumi.

“Stop.” Suturu scolded his action slapping the back of his head.

Megumi returned the gesture, crossing his arms after.

“I think I’m going, my grandpa said I had to go home my nine.” Itadori placed the dog on the floor, who was on his lap almost all the time that night.

“Okay.” Fushiguro nodded taking his dog off his lap too. “Bye, Itadori.”

The raven boy bowed but when he raised his head up, Itadori was standing with one hand on the air.

“High-five!” Itadori said like it was obvious. “Beat your hand here!” He pointed to the palm of his hand.

“Oh.” He did what the boy explained, slamming his hand weakly into it.

“Next time, you need to do it harder. But that’s okay.” Itadori smiled gently, waving one last time to Megumi and his parents.

Fushiguro observed that strange pink haired get off his house. He waved after the boy was already out of the door.

“Did you like him, Fushiguro?” Geto asked still amazed how that boy definitely changed something in Megumi that day.

“I want to talk to him, tomorrow. Please.” Fushiguro answered.

“Ugh, I felt that.” Gojo touched his chest.

“What?” Suguru looked at his husband, confused.

“My heart, ugh, it’s burning. I will grab a water.” Geto denied with his head, blinking with his eyes wide like he was used to Gojo stupidities.

Getting back to talk with Megumi giving him attention, “Of course, I take you there.” Geto affirmed.

“Thank you. Geto-san, Gojo-san.” The boy bowed for the third time that day, making his way to his room.

Now, Geto felt that everything was fitting in. In a part of that puzzle was Itadori. Somewhat that boy brought equilibrium to Megumi.

Suguru smiled again, feeling a good sensation on his heart.

Yes, they would definitely be good friends in the future.

And he couldn’t wait to see them growing up side to side.
