MarineFord's war was at its height, Portgas D. Ace had managed to get off the execution platform and was running alongside his younger sister, Monkey D. Lucy, to Moby Dick when Akainu taunted him about his father, Edward Newgate (Beard White), and Ace stopped to face him but the moment he turned he could only see a fist of magma coming towards him so fast he couldn't dodge. It was a silence, it felt like everyone had stopped to see what was going on, pirates and marines, everyone was with their hearts beating a mile a minute in anticipation. The admiral's punch was intercepted. No one knew who that woman was who managed to stop a furious punch from the magma admiral but just by feeling that woman's aura everyone felt power, and they could tell she wasn't happy.
- Who are you? - Asked Ace with tiredness and surprise in his voice
– Questions later- Said the mysterious woman- Get out of here… NOW
Ace had no idea who that woman was, and after everything he'd been through his body seemed to be finally giving way, but unlike his brother Lucy knew who she was, so she grabbed her brother and ran.
- Mugiwara-ya, this way - Law said that he had just emerged with his submarine, and Lucy went to him
- LUCY - Screamed the woman - Go to where Kuma left you, I'll meet you there
Lucy nodded as she entered the submarine.

After saying that she took the weapon that was blocking Akainu, it was some kind of hammer and ax joined (stormbreaker), infused it with weapons haki and hit him so hard that it flew off and destroyed some buildings that got in the way. And just then Blackbeard and his crew arrived.
– Marco- She said calling the attention of the 1st division commander and with him the rest of the commanders who were close to him - I just need a word, say it and he's gone

Looking satisfied with his response she turned to the fleet commander

- Where did Ace go girl? - BB asked the woman
– Island of women
- We can't go there - Pointed Izo - It's a shichibukai's island and not to mention it hates men
– Don't worry, Hancock owes me. She'll let you stay there until you can leave- she replied
- Hm… And who are you?- Jozu asked- We have no idea who you are, we've never even heard of you and you help Ace. And you know you'll be wanted after that right?!

And as to why, well I don't know Ace but I know his sister and if I didn't help him she would kill me. Everyone calmed down and the commanders except Marco went to share the good news with the rest of the crew.
- How are you Marco? - Asked the woman

- At least everything worked out, didn't it?!- Said Ayla- And it looks like I'll finally get to know them the right way
- Yeah, you're right - said Marco
- I'm not always - Ayla said in a mocking tone
- Tch - Marco grunted as he pushed her
– Come on, we have to rest. I don't know about you but I want to sleep- Ayla said as she pulled Marco
- You always want to sleep - mocked Marco - And where are you going to stay?
- Where do you think? In your cabin, you idiot - she said

At this point in the conversation they had already reached Marco's room and were getting ready for bed.
When the next morning arrived, Marco was awakened by the rays of sunlight streaming through the window and a knock on the door.
-Now I remember why I hate sleeping next to you.- He mumbled sleepily as he took her leg off of him, which he had no idea how she got there, and got up to open the door and see who the bastard was. waking up so early in the morning after a war.
- Izo - He said irritated - What do you want here this time of morning?
- Marco, you've been sleeping for a day - Izo said with concern - We needed to see if you were alright
- What? - He asked shocked - What do you mean I've been sleeping for a day? Heavens, I didn't know I was so tired. And yes Izo I'm fine but on second thought I'm starving. Oh and Ace already woke up?
– Glad you're fine, it's breakfast time. And no, he hasn't woken up yet, none of them. Trafalgar thinks they'll wake up today, probably in the afternoon.- Izo replied to his brother
- Ok, let me get ready and I'll be right now - He answered and closed the door when he saw the nod of agreement and went to wake the woman
– Ayla, wake up disgrace
-What the hell do you want so soon, Marco?- Ayla asked in a sleepy and irritated mumble.
- Our,I forgot how grumpy you are in the morning- He mumbled to himself- We've been sleeping for a day and it's breakfast time
– Hm….that explains why I'm not as sleepy as usual. Come on, I want coffee- Said Ayla
When they got to the kitchen, which was where everyone ate, they all stopped and started asking both Marco and Ayla questions.
– Marco, are you okay? Why is the girl with you?- Haruta asked his brother
– I'm fine Haruta. She was with me because I met her on the way- Marco replied as he sat down to eat next to Ayla
– Seriously, who are you girl? Can you at least tell us your name?- grumbled one of the crew grumpy
– You can call me Ayla. And about who I am, like I said I'll answer this when Ace and Lucy wake up- She still answered a bit grumpy
"Looks like we finally have a name," Thach grumbled
- You took a long time to say something to me, I'm surprised you held on so long - Ayla said as if she wasn't surprised that he was alive
– Why don't you look surprised that I'm alive? It's not something anyone outside the crew should know— Thach asked suspiciously.
-I know everything Thach, anywhere about anyone- Ayla replied enigmatically. And Marco can only shake his head in exasperation because he's the one who told her, and she only said that to scare his brothers.
When everyone was finishing breakfast, a crewman ran towards them shouting "ACE WAKES UP", that simple phrase caused a stir and everyone ran out of the ship to see Ace. When they got outside, Ace already he was outside the submarine talking to his sister.
– ACE- Shouted almost the entire crew of the Whitebeards
– STAFF- Ace yelled back missing his brothers and heading towards them who was immediately embraced by Izo and Haruta
-Ace, are you okay?- Izo asked with concern
- I'm fine, just very hungry...Wait Tha-Thach- Asked Ace in surprise when he saw his previously dead brother- How?
– I never died, after Teach stabbed me I passed out and when the nurses came to see me I was still breathing, weak but breathing. I was in a coma for months, I woke up a few days before MarineFord but they wouldn't let me out of bed, I was only able to get out yesterday- Thach replied as he hugged his younger brother
- Heavens, why didn't anyone tell me? - Asked Ace, still a little worried
- You didn't, before we can tell you you were already gone-yoi- Marco said as Ace got a little embarrassed

Understanding that they probably need some time to digest the new information, Ayla took/leaved Lucy and went to the crow's nest, and they stayed there until nightfall, only leaving when Marco called them to dinner.
-Wait, where did she take my sister?- Ace asked in despair just before nightfall

When he got upstairs he saw his sister and her girlfriend leaning against each other while Lucy was sleeping and Ayla looking up at the sky. The moment Ayla looked at him, Marco waved the head downstairs and she figured she should go downstairs, it was probably dinnertime, so Marco went downstairs knowing they'd both be downstairs.
- Hey Lu, wake up dear, it's dinner time- With the simple mention of food Lucy woke up quickly and was already downstairs followed by a giggler
-Hey Ayla, can we talk?- asked Ace at the end of dinner
-Yeah, okay- Ayla replied calmly as she followed Ace near the captain's cabin.
- Look, I'm not going to kill you because if I do that my sister will be sad and I don't want her to be, so if you hurt my sister I'll tear you apart - Said Ace in overprotective brother mode
- I doubt you could kill me - she mumbled under her breath so as not to be heard by the 2nd commander - I won't hurt her, she saved me when I had nothing and nobody. I love Lucy and she is too good for me to let go. I've never been very lucky in my life, but me finding her and falling in love with her and she with me is the best thing that has happened and will happen in my life.- Ayla said to Ace calming some of the anger in him, even he could see the sincerity in her eyes. But before either of them could speak again, a booming voice came from the captain's cabin. "Hey brat, come in here, I wanna talk"
- How can I help BB? - He asked calmly as he entered the cabin
