Work Text:
The team stormed the warehouse when they heard an explosion through Neal’s communicator. What they found was… unexpected, to say the least. They found Neal talking with a tall, orange-skinned alien woman, who was most likely their suspect, like they were old friends.
Peter cleared his throat. The two jumped apart. “Peter!” Neal chimes. “This isn’t what it looks like,” he tried to explain.
“Really?” Peter deadpanned. “Because it looks like you know our suspect here and were going to let her go,” Peter raised an eyebrow.
“Okay,” Neal started. “It’s exactly what it looks like. In my defense, it wasn’t her, she was here stopping it, and she has diplomatic immunity and JLA protection, so it’s not like we could have done anything to her.”
Peter groaned. The woman interrupted before Peter could speak, “I am bored. Jason,” she turns to Neal, “I will leave now. Do you require me to take you to the Watchtower so that you may report how your case is going?”
Neal (Jason?) groans, “No, it’s okay, Kori. I’ll check in with B later.”
“Okay. Remember to call Roy later as well. You know how he worries.”
“Will do. Bye, Princess,” Neal waved. The woman, Kori?, nodded and flew off.
“Damnit, Neal,” Peter muttered. “Get in the car. You will be explaining back at the office.” Neal hung his head and skulked back to the car.
