Kanon was taking a walk in the park today. The air was getting colder, and it was incredibly early, so not many people were out and about. Her hands delicately touched the well-trimmed bushes as she slowly walked down the paths. Until she got to a rose bush. There were a few littered around in the park, but definitely kept out of the way so a kid didn't run into one by accident. She paused for a moment before gently plucking one of the roses out of the bush, mindful of the few thorns. She opened her bag that was draped across her side and took out some nail clippers, clipping the thorns off the rose so she could hold it better. Then she put the clippers back.
She slowly sniffed the flower. She liked roses. They were beautiful. Determined. Signified beauty and grace. But it also reminded her of something incredibly special to her. Kaoru. They were the same shade as her eyes. Determined as was she, handsome and graceful as well. She smiled to herself as she thought of her girlfriend. Always made her heart flutter knowing that she won her heart. Kaoru had a lot of fans, but out of all of them, Kanon was the one who could stay by her side no matter what. The one that Kaoru would tell about her fears to, let her know that she wasn't as much of a prince as she let on to be.
'But you are a prince, even if you like stuff that isn't considered prince-like.' Kanon would say.
She let out a sigh as she looked away from the rose to look at the sky. She wondered if she had anything that needed to be done today. There was no rehearsal. She went shopping for everything she needed yesterday. Didn't have work today. No school today considering it's Saturday. Guess she was free today.
She continued holding the rose as she continued to slowly walk.
'Don't drift too far. I don't want you getting lost.' She could practically hear Misaki talking. She gently laughed and nodded to herself, as if she was agreeing with the girl that wasn't even awake yet. Then she continued to walk through the park.

Kaoru woke up fairly early on a general basis. Always wanted to get ahead on the day. Which is why she was walking to the nearby cafe by now. She tucked her hands in her pockets, the cold air making it just slightly hard to keep them out and about. But that's fine. She covered her mouth with the scarf she had and just kept moving along. As she went to push on the door to the cafe, she looked over at the park just a short bit away and noticed that familiar blue hair that she had grown to adore. She grinned for a moment before entering the cafe.
Wasn't long before she came out, holding two cups of coffee and a cookie in her hands.
She then made her way into the park, following Kanon.
"Oh, my beloved!~" She called out. Kanon turned around, noticing the person she was basically just thinking about.
"K-Kaoru! I-I'm surprised to see you here..How did you find me?"
"I was on my way to the fleeting cafe you frequent and I saw your radiant beauty, for it could be seen even miles away." She handed the girl one of the drinks she ordered, as well as the cookie. "My apologies for not getting you something that would be classified as a breakfast item, but I hope this shall be satisfactory."
"N-No! It's okay! I-It means a lot that you got it for me anyways.." She took the drink and cookie in one hand, still holding the rose with the other.
Then the two began to slowly walk together.
"So, why have you acquired a rose, my love?"
"I-I thought it was pretty..and.." She looked down, trying to think of how to word it without getting embarrassed. "...I-It reminded me of you.."
Kaoru's face went a light shade of red, but gave a smile. "How charming..You're so very kind, my beautiful princess."
"Y-You're far nicer than I am.." She looked up at her, handing the rose to the other.
Kaoru took it in her free hand, glancing at it. She noticed the spots where thorns were cut off. Just made it easier to put it behind her own ear. "As much as it pains me to say that you're incorrect, I feel that it is justified in this situation. You are the sweetest kitten I've had the honor of meeting, and an even bigger honor of dating."
"A-Ah..Thank you.." She slowly covered her mouth with the coffee lid, taking a slow sip. She would have fought back, starting a 'no, you are' cycle, but Kaoru always tended to win those.
"So, my beautiful flower. Why is it that you are out so early? It doesn't seem like you to get up at this hour."
"O-Oh..I usually don't..But I woke up early today and I couldn't get back to sleep..S-So I thought I would take a walk today.."
"Ah, I see. I'm surprised you didn't get another little kitten to accompany you. It must have gotten lonely. Plus I worry about your ability to get back home safely."
Kanon laughed softly. "Yeah..N-No one was awake when I left, so..I figured I'd go by myself.."
"Well, I suppose it is fate that I found you here. Do not fret, my little dove. Your's truly is here to give you company."
Kanon would be lying if she said she didn't miss hanging out with Kaoru. Just the two of them. The entirety of Hello, Happy World! had been going on adventures a lot as of late, and she enjoyed them, but she wanted something calmer to do. And usually that calmer thing was hanging out with Kaoru.
The two ended up walking laps around the park a few times, talking about whatever came to mind. Kaoru did a lot of the talking though. The two ended up finishing their coffee, and Kanon split the cookie in half so they could share.
"Hey, Kaoru?"
"Yes, my love?"
"D-Do you have any plans today..?"
Kaoru took a second to think. She usually had a busy schedule, juggling between all the different things she took part in. But, fate being on her side today apparently, she realized that she didn't have any plans. "No, I do not believe I do. How fleeting."
"C-Could..we maybe then.." Kanon looked down at the ground, fidgeting with her hands. "..go to the aquarium together..? I-I know I ask all the time but-"
Kanon was about to go on an entire rant to apologize, but Kaoru put a finger to her lips to shush her. "Do not worry, my dear. I would be honored to go with you. I always appreciate spending time with you, no matter what."
"O-Oh..Okay! Thank you so much! D-Do you think you could lead us to the train station..?"
Kaoru just laughed gently, and nodded. She took her hand and they started walking off to the station, throwing out their trash as they went on.

It wasn't long before they were standing in front of the aquarium, Kanon looking excited to be there, as if this was her first time coming here. Kaoru was always glad to see that smile of hers when they came here. The employee's always greeted them with far more enthusiasm considering Kanon did rescue their lost penguin. Plus, she came here often enough where every employee knew her.
It was like a routine the two had. Kanon would get really excited, no matter how often they came here. They looked at every tank, Kanon always making Kaoru look at whatever was inside.
But what Kaoru loved the most, was at the end. Always saved the best for last. They went to the very back of the aquarium, where all the jellyfish were. Kanon would always put her hands gently against the glass, and watch. Watch as they just gently swam without a care in the world.
Kaoru looked at her faint reflection on the glass as she was watching the jellyfish. She gently touched the rose that Kanon gave her. She was surprised that it still seemed to be okay, and all she could do was give a smile.
"Kaoru..?"
"Hm?" Kaoru immediately looked over to see that Kanon was staring at her.
"A-Are you okay..?"
"Of course I am. Why do you ask so suddenly?"
"Y-You were spacing out..I just got a bit nervous is all.."
Kaoru hummed for a minute before speaking up once more. "I was thinking about how these beautiful creatures remind me so much of the love of my life."
"L-Love of your life…?"
That only made Kaoru laugh, it echoing through the halls faintly. "You, of course, my beautiful princess. Whosoever would I be talking about?"
"O-Oh..Oh!" Kanon couldn't hide the quick blush that appeared on her face. Mostly from the compliment, but also because she didn't even realize. "W-Wait..how am I like a jellyfish..?"
"Charming. Beautiful. Graceful. Elegant." She went on and on about the similarities, only stopping when Kanon covered Kaoru’s mouth with her hand.
"O-Okay, you don't need to keep saying anything...T-Thank you.."
She gently took Kanon’s hand away and held onto it as if it were a fragile piece of porcelain. "Anything for you, my love. I will tell you that you're beautiful every day if I must."
Kanon just laughed. She knew Kaoru would tell her that anyways. Even if she didn’t necessarily have to. She did say it often. Like when she said 'my beautiful princess' or 'my beautiful flower'. She never really was used to it. Probably never would entirely be. But if it was from Kaoru, she knew she was telling the truth.
"W-Well..T-Thank you my handsome p-prince.." Kanon looked down, obviously nervous while saying that.
"E-Eh?" Kaoru covered her mouth with some of her fingers, her face going red. Not often that Kaoru is the one blushing.
"Hey, y-your face matches the rose now.." Kanon giggled as Kaoru use both of her hands to now hide her face.
"K-Kanon! This is supposed to be the other way around!"
"S-Sorry, I couldn't help it.." She took Kaoru's hands away from her face and held them gently, almost like how Kaoru would hold her own hands. "D-Do you wanna go look at the souvenir store they have to help? I-I'll buy you something!"
Kaoru coughed for a moment, averting her eyes as she nodded slowly. "I'd like that very much, my princess. But you do not need to buy me anything, for being with you is enough."
"A-Alright, alright. Maybe."
As the two went along to look at what the souvenir store had to offer, all Kanon could think about was how she was, indeed, going to buy Kaoru the biggest gift that she could. She was worth it.
