A fluffy, cheesy and potentially lewd story about my absolute favorite overwatch ship; Mercyhardt.

Notes:

Work Text:

It had been a very long week for the band of heroes. Emergency missions in omnic infested areas had required their absolute full attention. Surprisingly though, everyone had come back relatively unscathed. Morrison had gathered the large team of heroes into the briefing room shortly after they had all come home.

"You've all had a very difficult week," Morrison started with, pacing back and forth in front of them. "So to celebrate, Reyes and I have decided to hold a big feast in all of your honor."

The crowd of tired heroes cheered, and Morrison quickly led them all into the cafeteria. Angela sighed in relief as she sat down at one of the many food covered tables, picking out small portions of healthy foods and ordering a nice mug of hot chocolate.

Reinhardt slammed himself and his large mug of beer onto the seat beside her, clearly already somewhat drunk. "You did so well out there this week, Liebling!"

Reinhardt cheered in his usual loud, harsh voice. Angela smiled at him with tired eyes, laughing quietly at his drunken movements. "You as well, Reinhardt. Are you sure you're not hurt? I wasn't able to check on you when we got back." She looked him up and down worriedly, scanning for any signs of an imperfection. "Oh you worry too much my dear! Good ole' Reinhardt doesn't get hurt that easily!" He gave her a toothy grin as he took her large hand in his, causing Angela to blush profusely.

"I will take your word for it. Rein. Just call me if you need anything alright?" "Yes ma'am!"

Reinhardt nodded quickly like a child. "Now if you'll excuse me liebling, the other guests need to be entertained!" The large man quickly stood up, confidently walking off to crack jokes to the other members. Angela had always crushed on the big man, getting any chance she could take to talk to him. She smiled to herself at the fantasy as she took a sip of her hot chocolate, standing up and slipping out of the cafeteria and back into her quarters. She promptly passed out on her couch after trying to finish some paperwork, happily dreaming of helping her teammates.

A sharp, quick knock on her door woke her immediately. She slowly sat up, taking off her glasses to rub her eyes. She shivered violently. Had she forgotten to turn on the heating again? Another loud knock on the door. "Angela? Are you awake?" She stood up and slowly walked to the door, not expecting to hear Morrison's voice this late at night. She unlocked the door, greeting a shivering commander.

"We're in the middle of a pretty big snowstorm, Angela. This whole building's heating and electricity has completely gone out. You'll have to stay in the other building until a team comes out to fix it."

Angela groaned tiredly, reaching for a thick coat as she walked out into the hallway. "Alright alright, hopefully i can find someone who's still up this late.." she grumbled as she walked down the hall and out into the lobby, putting her coat on as she opened the door to the outside. She was met with a painful blast of cold air, already freezing any moisture on her face. She shielded her head in her coat, running to the building next door. She went inside and walked down the hall, immediately hearing Reinhardt's booming laughter coming from his room. She smiled as she knocked on his door, happily waiting to see his large frame in the doorway. He opened the door and greeted her with a large hug. "Angela! I heard the power in the other building went out, could i offer you a place here?" Angela laughed, instantly cheered up as she nodded.

"Thats just what i was here for! you are so kind." she happily stepped inside, marvelling at how high the counters and chairs were.
"Much different than your quarters, eh? A big man like me needs big accommodations!" His laughter made her smile as usual as she jumped into one of the tall kitchen chairs.

"Say Reinhardt, do you mind if i take a quick shower? I slept in my work clothes again and-" "Angela!" He yelled, cutting her sentence off. "You need to take more care of yourself!"

He pulled a towel out of the bathroom and handed it to her, ushering her into the bathroom with a worried look on his face. She sighed and nodded, setting the towel next to the shower.

"I promise i will, don't worry." She closed the door and undressed, turning on the shower. She stepped in under the hot water, sighing happily as she let the water massage her aching muscles. Once she felt less sore, she grabbed whatever shampoo and conditioner she could find. It didn't take long for her to wash up and step out, wrapping the towel around her body. Then she realized; she had brought no spare clothes with her. She wouldn't dare put on her disgusting work clothes, her only choice was to ask Reinhardt for a shirt and some pants.

"Uhm.. Reinhardt?" She called out from the door as she opened it.

"What is it. Liebling?" Reinhardt walked over, his eyes widening as he saw her barely clothed figure in the door way. His cheeks flushed as he quickly looked away, trying not to seem disrespectful.

"Well i dont exactly have a change of clothes. Do you think you could spare an old shirt and some shorts?"

"O-oh of course! Just a second.."

he quickly walked into his bedroom, grabbing an old beer brand shirt and some very long basketball shorts. He quickly handed them to her, shutting the door afterwards. She laughed at his expression as she changed and came out, standing in front of the door. She laughed as she lifted up her arms, showing off how comical she looked in such oversized clothing. "Oh you look amazing!" Reinhardt boomed, laughing at the sight as he led her back into the kitchen.

"Would you like some dinner? I was just about to go grab some extra snacks from the party."

Reinhardt was one of the biggest foodies on the team. Such a big man always needed to eat, which is why he became one of the best cooks around. Angela on the other hand.. couldn't cook to save her life. She mostly relied on pre-cooked meals to nourish her. As she explained this to him, The large man was frantically pulling out pots and pans.

"Not to worry! Once i come back, we'll have a hearty meal. I plan on teaching you my ways eventually! Make yourself at home, Liebling."

He smiled and nodded as he walked out the door, leaving Angela with a lonely silence in the room. It was weird being in a room so quiet after being with a man so loud. She decided to fill the silence by making some coffee. She started up his coffee maker, pulling a chair over to the counter so she could reach what looked to be the mug cabinet.  The cabinet was absolutely overflowing with mugs. She thought of why a man who lived alone would need this many mugs. Mugs of all shapes and sizes, colors, and-

"Oh Angela~ I'm home!"

Reinhardt's large voice and sudden burst through the door had caught her off guard. She gasped dropped the mug she was holding, slipping off the chair she stood on as she tried to keep it from falling. Reinhardt dropped his things and slid behind her, catching her and the mug of course. Angela looked up at him as he held her in the bridal position, her whole face turning read as she realized the circumstances she had gotten herself in.

"Your knight is here to save you, my angel!" They laughed together as he set her down on the counter in front of them, moving the chair as he pulled out some eggs and a cut of steak from his fridge. She watched his muscle work, blushing as she stared at his big hands delicately cracking the eggshells against a pan as he set the meat aside for later.

"Are you okay Angela? Your face is incredibly red." He looked over at her and let go of the frying pan, pressing his large hand to her forehead with a worried look forming on his forehead.

"No Reinhardt I'm fine, I just.."

She reached for his hand, closing her eyes and taking a leap of faith as she pressed her lips to his. She could tell his large, callused lips were forming into a big smile. She hoped that meant she made the right decision. He pulled away and cupped her head in his hands.

"I've always had a big crush on you, liebling. it has always been a dream of mine to have you so close to me."

"I..I feel the exact same way, Rein. I'm glad i took such a risk." Angela was ecstatic! She was more confident at this very moment than she'd ever been in her life, and it really paid off. She pulled the big guy in for another kiss as his calloused hands roamed around her body, eventually settling onto her waist. He picked her up, giving her a massive bear hug as he happily yelled a sentence the grateful doctor would remember forever;

"I think this is going to be the start of something wonderful!"
