One of Yanfei’s favorite things about living with her girlfriend was that during the weekends - or any day where Yanfei and Hu Tao’s schedules were clear, the couple would usually stay in bed until 10 in the morning. Their cuddling sessions often come to an end because one of them (usually Hu Tao) would mention breakfast.
Yanfei is usually the first one to get out of bed, often to prepare breakfast or to check the time on her phone and stretch. In both of those scenarios, Hu Tao would whine something along the lines of “I miss you already,” or “Five more minutes!” Then Yanfei would giggle and place a kiss on Hu Tao's lips with a smile that the half-awake Hu Tao would describe as something brighter than the sun.
Next part of the couple’s morning was preparing breakfast- more on Yanfei preparing it and Hu Tao approaching her from behind, hugging her waist and placing a kiss on the back of her neck. Yanfei, turning red at the gesture, would clear her throat. The brunette knew about how flustered her Yanfei got at the motion, not that Yanfei didn’t like it– she absolutely loved it– but she was cooking.
“Tao.” Hu Tao hums, arms still wrapped around Yanfei and head resting on her shoulder. “Can’t focus on your cooking?” Yanfei nods. “Alright, I know I’m not the best at cooking, but is there any way I can help?” The brunette offers. “I’m only making pancakes, so… I don’t think so?” Hu Tao places her hand on top of Yanfei’s hand, showcasing an eager smile on the brunette's face, “Can I flip the pancakes? Please?” Yanfei sighs, “Alright. I'll go prepare the plates. Just put the finished ones on the plate to your right.” Hu Tao smiles at her girlfriend, before switching her focus to their breakfast. Yanfei sings as she prepares the plates and utensils, and Hu Tao instantly recognizes the song.
“ Kiss me, kiss me with your eyes closed, ”
Yanfei grabs a couple of plates to set at the table and continues singing, “ Whisper that your heart shows, ” the couple starts singing together, “ All I want is you, yeah you .” The couple look at each other, eyes full of love. “ Hold me, hold me, I'm your bunny .” Hu Tao, forgetting about the pancakes, walks over to Yanfei with a goofy smile on her face. Thank the archons for someone like you. “Can we kiss?” The half-adeptus sighs at Hu Tao, “Yeah, of course. Pardon me for asking first, but are the pancakes ready?” Hu Tao’s eyes widened. “Fuck!” Yanfei sighs and rushes to the kitchen, “Oh my God… well, at least there’s still some batter, you’re okay with me telling you when to flip it?.” The brunette nods. “Sorry I delayed our breakfast. I enjoy singing with you.” Yanfei smiles as she pours pancake batter onto the pan, “I know.” Yanfei makes way for her girlfriend with a slight bow, “The floor- well, pan- is yours, m’lady.” Hu Tao, playing along, pretends to be flattered. “Why, thank you, my dear.”
After cooking breakfast, the couple bask in a pleasant silence as they eat their meals. Forks and knives were scraping against the plate, but it was pleasant.
“You wanna go out today?” Hu Tao takes a bite out of her pancake after asking the question and continues talking, “I mean, both of our schedules are free and…” Yanfei looks up at Hu Tao, “And what?” The brunette shrugs. “Oh, okay. Sure, let’s go out! You ever been to The Adeptus’s Abode?” Hu Tao drops her fork in dramatic fashion, “No! No way! You’ll take me there?” Yanfei nods, matching her girlfriend’s energy. “You’ll be the first person I bring there.” She winks.
“It’s like, 10 AM, right?” Hu Tao nods, “Why?” Yanfei shrugs. “We could go right now, you know. I know some places where we can dip our feet and relax. Just the two of us.” She stands up, holding their plates. “I’ll go wash the dishes and you could prepare some snacks for us on the journey.”
One of Yanfei’s favorite things about travelling with her girlfriend was chatting with her. They’d talk about all sorts of things; how their day went, the people they meet, the food they ate or would like to eat, anything. While walking, the couple would talk about anything they possibly could. Another thing that Yanfei likes about walking with her girlfriend is that they get to spend time together. The couple both had busy jobs, so it was rare for them to get together and enjoy each other's presence.
“It's so high up here!” Hu Tao exclaims, she attempts to jump in excitement but Yanfei stops her. “I know! Which is why you should be careful!” The brunette chuckles, “Sorry! I'm just so… giddy! It's not everyday that I get to visit the Adeptus's Abode with the best person in the entirety of Teyvat.” Hu Tao holds Yanfei's hand and places a kiss on it, making the half-adepti turn red, “Well, uhm, we could sit here, and just… talk.” Hu Tao smiles and sits beside Yanfei. “I'll be your guest.”
The couple sit in pleasant silence, until Yanfei speaks, “Tao.” Her girlfriend turns to her with a curious look on her face. “What do you think of the view?” Hu Tao answers, still looking at Yanfei, “I think the view is beautiful, really stunning.”
Yanfei giggles at her girlfriend, “Really? I also find the view to be very gorgeous.” The two lean closer to each other, “Isn't that lovely?” Yanfei cups Hu Tao's face, “Very lovely indeed.” The couple smiled at each other before closing the gap between them.
The two pull apart from each other, Yanfei immediately turning away from Hu Tao and mumbling an “I love you”, which Hu Tao returns after giving her girlfriend a kiss on the cheek.
