Taehyung was never really a big fan of cooking but he sometimes he wanted to try it, especially when he was in a good mood. But living with his boyfriend meant it was impossible for him to cook alone because Jeongguk never let him. They only had one strict rule in their house which was "KIM TAEHYUNG IS NOT ALLOWED TO COOK ALONE UNLESS IT IS REALLY NECESSARY". It might sound like a weird and unnecessary rule but Jeongguk was so overprotective because of a very valid reason. Taehyung was really clumsy especially with kitchen stuff and always ended up hurting himself so Jeongguk made sure that Taehyung was never near sharp objects. Although, there were times when Jeongguk allowed him to cook because Tae insisted and Jeongguk can never say no to his baby when he starts pouting so he always ended up saying yes but even then he hovered anxiously around him making sure he didn't hurt himself in the process and Tae never complained because he enjoyed it a lot. Jeongguk's 'Babe, be careful with the knife' 'Hold the knife properly please' always made him smile and feel loved. Being Jeongguk's baby was his favourite role and he found overprotective Jeongguk really adorable.
So, when they went on a mini work/leisure trip to shoot In The Soop, Taehyung found a perfect opportunity to prove to Jeongguk and his 5 soulmates that he can be a good cook too.Taehyung really wanted to do something special for Jeongguk because Jeongguk was the one who always planned date nights and loved spoiling Tae with gifts so he wanted to do something different this time. He decided to cook something with Namjoon since they were not the best cooks and surprise Jeongguk and everyone else on the last day of their trip. After hours of pouting and whining,
"I promise, I'll be careful",
"I know you'll be there to protect me so it'll be fine, let me just do it once and if I fail, I'll never do it again , pleaseeeeee",
Jeongguk finally agreed to let him cook for 7 people but decided not to leave his side for a single minute.Taehyung was doing really well and he was so proud of him. He showered both him and Namjoon with praises. They were both doing a great job and Jeongguk felt like this time he didn't need to be near him at all times so he decided to go back to his room for a few minutes because he was feeling really cold.
After a while, Taehyung was all alone as Namjoon left to work on something else. Taehyung waited for Jeongguk but he didn't return and suddenly Taehyung started losing interest in cooking even though he was so excited just a few minutes back. He realised that the only reason he actually loved cooking was because he loved it when Jeongguk hovered around him, he loved seeing his concerned, cute little face and he actually hated cooking when Jeongguk wasn't around.
Meanwhile, Jeongguk had accidentally drifted off to sleep in his room. Jeongguk was not planning to leave him alone for so long but he was so tired that as soon as he laid on his bed covered by his warm blanket, he fell asleep. His Hoseok hyung woke him up from his deep slumber. As soon as he woke up, he checked his phone, saw the time and a few messages from Tae and realized what he did. He murmured 'Oh Fuck' and jumped out of his bed and ran at lightning speed, leaving Hoseok alone and confused.
After the longest 30 minutes of Taehyung's life, Jeongguk finally returned. As soon as Jeongguk entered the room, Taehyung heaved a sigh of relief but decided to hide his happiness. Instead, he continued cooking and ignored Jeongguk completely. When the others entered the room for dinner, he told them that he was all alone and needed help with a cute little pout on his face. He was talking to everyone but Jeongguk knew it was addressed to him and he mouthed a soft ' I am really sorry baby' but Taehyung ignored him again.
After enjoying the scrumptious meal with everyone, Jeongguk returned to his room early to practice his apology and tried to come up with cute little ways to make up to him.
"He loves neck massages, I will give him the best neck massage he ever had that he won't be able to stay mad at me for long".
"Maybe I could serenade him with some of his favourite songs as soon as he enters and cuddle him tightly, it's physically impossible for him to not respond to my cuddles" he continued contemplating the best course of action for a good 45 minutes but there was still no sign of the love of his life. He became really worried. He tried calling him but Tae refused to pick up his call.
Tae had decided to go to Jimin's room instead because he wanted Jeongguk to suffer a little bit more. His phone kept ringing but he ignored it. Jimin turns himself to face Tae and asks him
"why are you not picking your boyfriend's calls"
"How do you know it's Jeongguk, it could be anyone".
"Sure, Tae!"
Jimin bursts out laughing and pats Taehyung's hair. He is used to their bickering and finds it really adorable. He loves the youngest two so much and it makes him so happy to see them like this. After a while Taehyung's phone stops ringing and Jimin receives a call from Jeongguk. He turns on the loudspeaker so that Tae can hear their conversation too.
"Hi, Jeongguk! Yes, Taehyung is with me".
Tae loudly whispers "Tell him I am fast asleep".
"Jeongguk, Tae is fast asleep and won't wake up".
"Hyung, please stop fooling around, I can hear him. Just tell him that I am really genuinely sorry and I would never leave him alone again. Please ask him to come back. He knows I can't sleep alone and I know he can't too. He needs his cuddles too"
Tae responds with a big smile on his face.
"I am fine, you don't need to worry about me. I can cuddle with Jimin, he loves me more than you do and he gives the best cuddles".
Both Jimin and Taehyung start laughing.
Jeongguk knows that Taehyung wouldn't budge so easily so he decides to bring him back forcefully. He ends the phone call and leaves his room to go to Jimin's room with a determined look on his face. He enters Jimin's room and finds both the boys laughing and having fun. As soon as he enters the room, Tae gets closer to Jimin and hugs him tightly because he reads Jeongguk's mind. Jeongguk goes to his side and gently pulls him away from Jimin, ruffles his hair and lifts him up carefully and carries him out of the room bridal style. Before closing the door, Jeongguk says good night to Jimin.
"Good Night, Hyung! See you tomorrow!
"Good night, have fun you two lovebirds and don't forget to wake up early tomorrow please or you are going to make Hobi and Jin hyung really mad" .
Jeongguk shouts, "We'll try our best but we can't promise anything".
Taehyung tries really hard to hide his smile but he just can't, he is loving this so much. As soon as they enter their room, Jeongguk gently lays him down on their bed and starts showering him with kisses on his cheeks, nose, forehead and his pouty lips murmuring ,"I am really sorry, I wasn't planning to leave you alone, I would never do that, I love you so much, Please forgive me and never do this again, You know I can't sleep without you", in between the kisses.
Taehyung loves this but he still rolls to the other side of the bed and tries to avoid his kisses. He is thoroughly enjoying this little game. Jeongguk tries to pull him closer, but Taehyung successfully gets away from him again. Jeongguk glares at him and starts pouting.
"Fine then, two can play this game, I had planned something really special for you but since you are clearly not interested, I’ll just cancel it".
A wicked smile emerges because he knows he won the game with just one sentence. Jeongguk’s surprises were always the best and he loved pampering Taehyung so he knew it would definitely grab Tae’s attention and he was not wrong because in an instant Taehyung turned towards him.
"What surprise?"
Jeongguk turns the other way and pretends to sleep.
"Jeonggukie, stop playing with me, I am supposed to be angry at you and not the other way round. What surprise?"
"Why should I tell you?, You are clearly not interested. I am going to sleep now. Good Night!"
Taehyung grabs Jeongguk's tattooed arm to pull him closer but when he doesn’t move, he plants a kiss on his ear and hugs him from behind and starts kissing his nape.
"Please baby, tell me what the surprise is. I forgive you, I was never really angry at you to be honest, I was just really enjoying this."
This brings a big smile on Jeongguk’s face and he turns to face his boyfriend, grabs his cheeks in his hands and plants a long lingering kiss on Taehyung’s lips and ruffles his silky, curly hair.
"Omg! Tae, You are so cute and innocent, I love you so much!"
"I know that, now tell me more about the surprise"
"Oh yes! The surprise."
He pulls Taehyung closer to him so that there is absolutely no space between them and plants a long lingering kiss on his forehead and murmurs softly,
"this one is my apology for leaving you alone", he then moves his lips to his nose and plants a sweet kiss there,
"this is for falling asleep", he now grabs his cheeks and kisses both his cheeks, "this is for being a bad boyfriend" and then slowly moves towards his lips, his lips never leaving Tae’s skin. He kisses him passionately for a long while which leads to Tae letting out a soft moan.
"And this is for the best meal I ever had. You are such an amazing cook Taehyungie hyung, I think it’s time to remove the ban now.I want to eat more amazing dishes made by you, Also, this was your surprise".
Taehyung signature boxy smile emerged at this comment.
"This does not count as a surprise because I get this surprise every single day so you might have to plan something else soon but I still loved it". and plants a quick kiss on his lips.
Jeongguk scrunches his nose at this.
"But I don’t think I’ll cook again."
"Why? You are an amazing cook Tae, I was so proud of you today."
"I realized that I don’t really enjoy cooking. I only insist on cooking because I love it when you become overly protective and hover around me. You look so adorable when you are concerned."
Jeongguk lets out a little laugh at this comment.
"You really are so innocent, I know that babe. I always knew that. Why do you think I let you cook? Also you look so cute when you are cooking. I am so lucky I found someone way beyond my imagination."
"I don’t look cute generally?"
"You do, you always do! You are the no.1 most handsome man in the world."
"But I don’t have make up on".
"Still no.1”
"uhhh so cheesy please, stop it, ok now let’s sleep. I am tired now’. Taheyung blushes so hard. Even after years of being together, Jeongguk still has the same effect on him.
"Yes, let’s sleep now" and Jeongguk entangles his tattooed arm in Tae’s hair and kisses his cheek.
"Good night babe"
"Jeongguk..."
"Hmm….."
"I love you"
"I love you too."
and they both fall asleep in each others arm feeling safe and loved.
