Time:5:30 PM
(The Owl House: Kitchen)
"A permission slip?" Eda ponders aloud as she looks at the paper she was just handed. Luz stands on the other side of the kitchen counter, bouncing excitedly.
"Yeah, for the field trip Tomorrow." Luz explains. "Principal Bump is taking us to 'The Lookout', this newly built research center up by the right shoulder."
"Why do you need permission for that?" King inquires from his seat. "You didn't need Eda to sign anything when you went to the Emperor's Palace."
"This is a little different." Luz elaborates. "'The Lookout' is built on a tall plateau, but the facility only covers part of it. The rest is covered by a grassy field that has a great view of the boiling sea on one side and overlooks a mysterious forest on the other."
"Or, well-" Luz shrugs. "That's what I was told anyway."
"And why does that matter?" King asks, unimpressed.
"Because as part of the trip anyone who gets their permission slip signed gets to campout in the field overnight. All the tents are provided for us so we just bring whatever we think we'll need." Luz jumps up and down. "I've never had a campout with friends before and all my friends at Hexside are gonna sign up. So I can't miss it."
"Alright I get it, no worries Luz, I'll sign." Eda hums, deciding Luz deserves a fun night out with friends to take her mind off the portal for just a bit. But as she starts to sign she quirks an eyebrow at Luz. "But what was that about a Mysterious Forest?"
"Oh, I heard that part from Jerbo actually. Principal Bump just said there was a forest." Luz elaborates. "Apparently his dad works at the facility and told him about it."
"They call it the shifting forest because every hour or so the color and shape of the trees in it change." Luz shrugs. "But they don't know much else cause the Emperor's Coven has forbidden entry into it."
"Forbidden by the Emperor's Coven huh?" Eda rubs her chin as she hands the signed slip to Luz. "That may be worth looking into."
"I was thinking that too." Luz nods. "But let's wait until after the campout ok?"
"No problem kiddo." Eda smirks. "Wouldn't want to interrupt your tent time with your girlfriend right?"
"Th-that's not, It-" Luz faces erupts into a blush as she suddenly bolts for the doorway. "Anyway, I gotta go pack for the trip!"
Luz ignores Eda and King's laughs as she leaves, heading up to her room quickly. Once she arrives she pulls out her little cat-shaped pager and sends Amity a message before gathering the few things she thinks she'll need for the campout.
Time:5:35 PM
(Blight Manor: Foyer)
I'm good to go
Super excited
How are you doing?
Amity smiles down at the messages, glad to know that two of her friends were confirmed, Gus having sent her a message on her scroll earlier. Amity raises her thumbs to start a reply but her attention is grabbed by a sudden bump to her side. Moving her eyes she sees Emira standing next to her, facing forward save for her eyes looking at Amity. A quick movement of Emira's eyes reminds Amity of her situation as she quickly puts the device back into her pocket and stands still politely as their mother walks in.
All three blight siblings stand off to the side of the foyer as the family matriarch makes her way toward the door, taking a handbag from the abomination butler as she does. Odalia Blight turns to face her children, taking a moment to grimace at Amity's hair before speaking.
"I have an important meeting I'll be attending tonight." She announces, though all her children already knew this. "I'll only be gone for a couple hours at most but I expect you to be on your best behaviors. Homework done, house clean-" She leans in Amity's direction and then Edric's. "And NO visitors."
"Of course Mother." The siblings answer with a nod, as if any of them would consider inviting a significant other here.
"Good." The mother huffs as she stands straight, pointing a finger at her children. "And make sure you're ready for bed before I get back, curfew is at eight o'clock sharp tonight."
"Of course." The kids repeat, watching patiently as their mother huffs one more time before heading out the front door, the abomination butler accompanying her heads off in a random direction to attend to something.
Odalia closes the door behind herself as her kids watch, silently counting to themselves. Once the count reaches twenty they start making their own way to the door, Edric sighing as he reaches it.
"Eight again huh?" He stands tall, peering through the window on the door. "What's up with that?"
"Probably her way of keeping a check on things." Emira shrugs. "I doubt she's happy you two are dating people now."
"That might be mostly my fault." Amity sighs. "I'm honestly surprised I've been allowed out of the house lately."
"No worries mittens. Not anything we can't deal with." Edric waves it off, squinting his eyes he lowers his voice. "Wait hold on, here we go."
Watching from the door, Edric sees Odalia exit the grounds of the Blight Estate, gate closing loudly behind her. Once there she pauses for a moment, checking the bag hanging by her hip. Nodding, she continues walking, Edric turning to his sisters excitedly as she does.
"Ok, she didn't forget anything we're good to go!" He cheers, All three siblings walk together deeper into the house. Opening the doors to the basement and heading down the stairs the group enters their father's workshop, the man in question busy working on some new Abomaton variant.
"Hey dad." Emira calls sweetly, gaining his attention. "Can you help us with a little something?"
"What is it?" Alador inquires, raising his goggles.
"It's these permission slips for the school trip coming up." Amity explains, all three siblings holding up the papers. "We need them signed."
Alador takes a moment to look at each of his children, then at the papers they hold. He seems to think for a moment before scratching the back of his head as he looks back to the project he was working on. "What uh, what did your mother say?"
"We wanted to ask her." Edric answers. "But she's already left for her business meeting."
"And she won't be back for awhile." Emira continues. "We'll be in bed before she gets back and we need them signed right away."
"Hmm." Alador hums. "What's it for?"
"A campout." Amity quickly raises a hand to add to her response. "Highly supervised, most of the school staff with be there to watch us."
"There's a tour through a research center beforehand." Emira elaborates. "And it's only for one night."
Alador once again regards his children, seeming to think for awhile. He tilts his head back, noticing a spot on the ceiling. There is a tiny glob of abomination goo on the ceiling, when had that gotten there? It looks a little crusty, probably got flung up there a couple days ago while he was working. Is it still usable? Should be but it's such a small amount would it be worth the hassle of getting it down? He could probably just use some magic to bring it down but what if it's stuck up there? Or isn't usable? What a waste of time that'd be. But then again it could always have a use, Maybe-
"Dad?" Emira calls, snapping her fingers. "Dad?"
Alador lowers his gaze, the tiny glob forgotten as he blinks. "Yes?"
"The permission slips?" Emira holds hers up as a reminder.
"Oh right." Alador blinks again, looks left to right then faces his children again. "Sure, ok."
"Thank you!" Amity cheers excitedly as she approaches, pulling out a pen for him to use.
One by one Alador signs each paper offered to him, his children smiling as they take a few steps back once he's done.
"Thanks dad, you're the best." Edric praises, Amity nods along.
"Thanks?" Alador shrugs.
"And since we're all signed." Emira smiles sweetly. "We don't really need to bother mom with this. Just let her know where we are tomorrow if she asks Ok?"
"Ok." Alador shrugs again, he then blinks in confusion as each of his kids take a turn to give him a small hug, then they head for the stairs.
"Thanks again dad! Sorry to bother you." They call as they leave, Alador simply returns to his work. Ripping goopy strands out of his latest creation.
"Ha, ha, Yes! It worked!" Edric cheers as the siblings leave the basement, closing the door behind them. Edric takes a breath and put his hands on his hips triumphantly. "We are in so much trouble the day after tomorrow."
"Oh absolutely." Emira laughs. "So make the most of tomorrow night alright?"
"Especially you Mittens." Emira giggles as she nudges Amity's side. "You excited to share a tent with Luz?"
"Would it-" Amity's voice catches in her throat as she blushes. "Would it really just be us? What if the tents hold three people? Or only one?"
"Oh?" Emira grins. "Had you not even thought of that?"
"Uh..." Amity stares at her sister, frozen, she had in fact not thought of that. She'd just assumed Willow or another of their friends would be there but if it really would be just the two of them...
"Oh, cut it out Em." Edric ruffles a hand on his twin's head with a laugh. "Think she's nervous enough already."
"Yeah you're right." Emira swats Edric's hand away. "Well let's make sure we take care of everything tonight, wouldn't want to get in trouble before the trip."
Edric and Emira nod to each other as they start walking, Amity stares at the floor, eyes wide. Various thoughts running through her head, broken by Edric coming back and placing a hand on the top of her head.
"Try to stay calm Mittens." Edric laughs. "Don't wanna keep yourself up tonight."
"Right..." Amity mumbles, making her way to her room. Pulling her messenger out with nervous, shaking hands. Fumbling the device for a moment she grips it tightly and types out a message for Luz, praying to the Titan she uses the correct images.
I'm set
Super excited too
Got OK from Gus earlier
Still waiting on Willow
That last message gives her pause, as Amity enters her room she does wonder how Willow is doing.
Time:5:45 PM
(Park Residence: Living Room)
"Dad, really it's not that bad." Willow insists, not for the first time that night. Her bearded dad paces in front of her as she sits on the couch, her bespectacled father attempting to calm him.
"Remember, the school staff will be watching them and the research center is just across the field." He explains. "And her friends will be with her, there's nothing to worry about."
"But... All night?" Beardy dad holds a hand to his chin, fretting. "And in a tent? What if the ground is bumpy? She could hurt her back. And on a plateau? What if she falls off?"
Willow and her father sigh. This conversation has been going in circles for quite some time with no real progress being made, Willow attempts to assure him again.
"There's a fence around the Plateau remember? It'd be impossible for me to fall off it by accident and if the tent is uncomfortable I can use my magic to make a leaf bed or something."
"A leaf bed? You shouldn't have to do that." Beard dad gasps. "And what if the fence isn't secure?"
"Now, now. Let's take a breathe." Father pats dad on the shoulder while Turning to their daughter. "Willow can you promise me you won't go near the fence?"
"Of course." Willow nods rapidly. "Me and my friends won't go anywhere near it, we'll stay near the center of camp the whole night I promise."
"And you know what?" Father continues. "There's still time left today, I can run to the store and pick up a small mattress. If I find one at the right size she can take it on the trip and sleep on it instead of the floor of the tent."
"I... Guess that could work." Dad hums thoughtfully.
Beard Dad looks between his husband and his daughter a few times before sighing in defeat.
"Alright, alright. I can tell how serious this is to you. And I'd rather not argue about it all night." He looks Willow in the eye. "Can you promise you and your friends won't get in any trouble?"
"I promise." Willow holds a hand to her heart and smiles, her dad gives her a soft smile in return.
"Ok, then I guess you can go." He raises a hand. "But let it be known I am uncomfortable with this."
"Thanks dad." Willow gets off the couch and gives both her fathers hugs before handing them the permission slip, Beard Dad takes the paper and signs it.
"Now why don't you go get ready Willow?" Her father kneels down to look her in the eye. "I know you won't need much but it's best to get it taken care of right away."
"I will." Willow nods. "And I'll let my friends know the good news."
"Sounds good." Dad nods. "Then I'll get dinner ready while you get that mattress."
The Park family splits up, each with their own mission. Willow moves with a spring in her step, excited for the trip. She pulls out her scroll and messages her friends the good news.
Time:5:55 PM
(Brandt Estate: Basement)
Dim light covers the basement, illuminated by two candles set on each wall, a chandelier with four candles hung from the center of the ceiling and a dim glow from a cauldron sitting on a large table.
Three metal tables are set up around the center of the basement in a triangle formation each covered in various sized cauldrons and beakers, with shelves lining the walls full of a wide assortment of bizarre items ranging from simple tree leaves to animal body parts. Standing in front of the table that makes up the bottom of the triangle and stirring a medium sized cauldron with gloved hands is a young girl, her violet hair tied back in a bun and a three lensed pair of goggles on her face. Sprinkling some blue moss into the cauldron as she slows her stirring the girl watches as the liquid inside the cauldron slowly shifts from a sickly yellow to a muddy brown, she hums quietly as she tilts her head to face a notebook set up next to the cauldron and lifts her free hand to point at a specific part of the page close to the bottom. The liquid in the cauldron bubbles three times before going still and she nods, releasing her stirring spoon.
"Maya!" Boscha calls out as she kneels down, lifting up a small circular wooden table, a hole cut in the middle of it. Placing the small table onto the larger one, encircling the cauldron with it before grabbing the stirring spoon and swirling it slowly. She turns her head to find a small crab like creature skittering across the table to meet her, carrying a white object. The small crab has two gloves around her claws, goggles built into the gloves cover her eyes.
"You find the Pharashroom ok?" Boscha asks, Maya dropping the item she's carrying onto a nearby wooden plate happily. Observing the item Boscha confirms it to be the large pale white wrinkled mushroom she needs "Alright good."
"I need to take care of that, can you handle this?" Boscha lets go of the spoon and raises a finger and swirls it around. "Two minutes, slow rotations."
Maya clicks her claws a couple times before hopping onto the circular table and grabbing the spoon, skittering around on the circular table she begins to stir the brewing potion.
"That's my girl." Boscha nods as she walks over to the wooden plate and reaches a hand to a brown pouch on her side, pulling a small knife from a holster on the side of the pouch.
Boscha carefully holds the mushroom upside down at an angle in one hand, the other sinks the tip of the knife into the wooden table and holds it still. Moving the mushroom adjacent to the blade she begins to spin it slowly, peeling off the outer edge of the cap in a long twisted strand, once she's looped around three times she sets the mushroom down and picks up the strand. Sheathing the knife she opens the pouch on her side revealing it's contents, it holds two small potion jars and two powder containers, the powders being black and white. Grabbing the container of white powder she pops the lid and dips the mushroom strand into it, the strand flows through the powder like it's not there but when she pulls it back out it's caked in the stuff. Popping the lid closed and putting the container away Boscha drops the strand into the cauldron as Maya stirs it. Observing the concoction she's pleased to see it start to change from muddy brown to a dark gray.
Maya stops stirring the cauldron as it bubbles seven times before going still, She lets go of the spoon and turns to Boscha hopefully.
"Yep, looks good." Boscha nods. "We'll let it sit for about an hour and it'll be ready."
Maya jumps up and down happily as Boscha smiles, hearing a sound she turns around to face the stairs nearby, just barely able to see the door at the top open.
"Boscha Honey! It's time to come up!" A woman's voice calls down. "Supper is ready!"
"It's that late?" Boscha wonders aloud as she starts to remove her gloves, she then calls up. "Ok Mom! I was just wrapping up anyway!"
"This'll be fine overnight." Boscha says as she takes a lid and covers the open cauldron, she then removes the goggles from her face. "Let's get going."
Maya clicks her claws a couple times before grabbing the Pharashroom and dashing off with it. Boscha lifts the circular table and places it on the floor under the large table, and since her other supplies were either fully used or taken back to their proper place by Maya already she simply grabs her notebook and walks over to the stair and deposits her gloves and goggles into a hamper along the wall. Boscha kneels down as Maya returns and helps the little creature take off the gloves on her claws before dropping them into the hamper as well. And lastly before she walks up the stairs she removes the pouch from her side and places it on a shelf adjacent to an identical but bigger pouch.
Turning back toward the room Boscha draws a circle in the air before holding out her hand, the flames on the candles all fly off, collecting into one big flame in Boscha's hand. Clenching her fist Boscha extinguishes the flame, casting the basement into darkness. She starts heading up the stairs with Maya scampering up her back and perching on her shoulder.
Once Boscha reaches the top of the stairs she's met with the large immaculate hall of her home and her mom, a woman that stands two heads taller than her with long flowing violet hair. She wears a long sleeved yellow blouse, a blue skirt that almost reaches her ankles, soft white socks with no shoes and a pink apron covers her front. Her two emerald green eyes shine at her daughter in admiration.
"Hey Sweetie, your potion work go well?" She asks as she holds the door open for her daughter, closing it gently once she has fully left.
"It did, all that's left is to test it, then I can make my final notes." Boscha nods, her mom claps in response.
"Oh, I knew you'd be finished already." She praises, taking Boscha's cheeks in her hands and squishing lightly. "That's my little genius."
"Moom." Boscha whines, squirming out of her grip. "I'm not completely done, but I've done all I can tonight."
"Right, right." Boscha's mom takes a step back but leans forward and reaches a hand to Boscha's shoulder. "And thank you Maya, what a good little assistant you are."
The mom gives Maya a little scratch on the top of her central body, the Palisman leans into the touch and clicks her claws happily. Boscha allows this for a moment before taking a few steps down the hall, her mom pouting before lowering her hands and following after Boscha, her longer legs allowing her to take the lead.
"Now I know you're going to love your supper tonight, it's one of your favorites, Roast-"
"Where's Mother?" Boscha asks suddenly, halting her mom who turns to face her. Though she continues down the hallway, now walking backwards.
"Oh she's in the sitting room with Odalia, talking business of some sort, you know how it is." Boscha's mom laughs lightly, spinning on her heel so she's facing the right way again. "Who knows how long they'll be."
"Mrs. Blight is here?" Boscha frowns. "How important is the discussion? I do still need to speak with her."
"About the school trip right?" Her mom turns around again and moves so she's walking directly in front of Boscha. "I was meaning to ask, are you going to need a chaperone? Because I'm free tomorrow night."
"No mom, no chaperone." Boscha rolls her eyes. "The school staff has everything covered."
"Oh fine, but you know, nothing would make me happier than spending a night camping out with my daughter and her friends." She giggles, covering her mouth with a hand. "Is that sad?"
"Yeah mom it kinda is."
"Ah-" Boscha's mom freezes in shock, comedically falling off to the side and out of Boscha's way, Boscha just continues down the hall nonchalantly. Once Boscha has made it quite a way past her mom the older woman picks herself off the floor and rushes after her. "Rhetorical question Sweetheart! You're not supposed to answer that."
"Then stop asking it." Boscha chuckles, not turning to face her. She then arrives at a pair of double doors, opening one to reveal the dining room.
The dining hall is a large room decorated with three grand pillars set into the walls, expensive paintings and family portraits set up in-between them and an enormous chandelier hanging over the table, the table itself being large enough to comfortably seat over thirty guests in addition to the family of the household. But at the moment there is only two plates set up on the edge of the table. Boscha takes her seat at the table and smiles at her meal, roasted Baragyrm feet, with the claws removed just how she likes them. Mom was right, this is one of her favorites, it's not as good as fairy pie honestly but it's up there. Maya jumps off her shoulder and takes the adjacent plate and starts chowing down on the cooked fish covering it, her claws also functioning as her mouths.
"I hope you two enjoy them, these took awhile to prepare." Boscha's mom walks up next to Boscha's chair and kneels down while smiling at her. "So Sweetie how are we feeling?"
"Pretty good." Boscha pounds her chest with one hand and clears her throat. "I'd say I'm at a two."
"A two?" Her mom whistles. "That's a very good day."
"Then here, just one cup tonight." She places a red mug on the table next to Boscha, the mug full of a sweet smelling tea. "Now you two eat up and I'll see if I can pull that silly wife of mine away from work for a couple minutes."
"Thanks mom." Boscha says as she lifts her cup of tea to her mouth and takes a long sip, letting out a pleased sigh afterward. She sets the cup down and readies to dig in with her knife and fork.
Boscha and Maya eat in comfortable silence, savoring their meals happily. The excited Palisman finishes her smaller meal much quicker, skittering wildly around the table before coming to a stop in front of Boscha.
"What's got you so wound up?" Boscha inquires as she lifts her mug, taking one final sip of the delicious tea. Maya clicks her claws a couple times while bobbing up and down. "The campout huh? Never been on one?"
A few rapid snaps and clicks answer her.
"Me? Nah, I'm not that interested." Boscha shrugs. "If I go it could be fun but if I can't it's not a big deal."
Two slow snaps as Maya tilts her body to the side.
"Yeah really." Boscha sighs, cutting up a chunk of her meal. "It's just a silly campout Maya."
Maya tilts herself the other way and clicks a few more times.
"Well, I had to try." Boscha sets her utensils down. "I was late to the moonlight conjuring and I missed Grom. Skara and the girls were gonna complain if I didn't at least try to make it to this."
More clicks and snaps.
"Of course I want to, but..." Boscha rubs her forehead and sighs. "Why does everything have to happen at night?"
Maya snaps her claws while she skitters up and nudges Boscha, who scratches the Palisman's head.
"I'm fine you worry wort." Boscha smirks. "I'm not a wimp you know."
Boscha flicks the Palisman, causing her to tip over. She giggles as the little creature flails around on her back comedically. During these antics, the large double doors of the dining room open. Boscha's ears twitch as they catch the sound of heels hitting the floor, she stops giggling as she quickly lifts Maya back up onto her feet. The Palisman stands still at attention while Boscha adjusts the positions of her cup and utensils, she then sits up straight. Boscha moves her third-eye to see the woman who just arrived to the side of her chair.
She stands tall, even taller than her mom, with a pair of short heels raising her up just that little bit more. Wearing a gray business suit over a white blouse with no tie and her vibrant pink hair pulled back in a bun she gives off an aura of someone whose time you don't want to waste. She looks down at Boscha with three intense pale-blue eyes as a hand reaches up to adjust the three lensed glasses on her stoic face.
"Hello Mother." Boscha greets, turning her third eye back to her plate.
"Boscha dear, Lilian informs me you've finished your potion." Boscha's mother stands with both hands behind her back, observing her daughter, both women can hear Boscha's mom make a supportive noise behind them.
"I believe so." Boscha says slowly. "I still need to perform the final test but I'm confident the adjustments I made to the recipe will have the desired effects."
"I see." The older woman huffs. "And how relevant is confidence in comparison to results?"
"Completely irrelevant." Boscha answers, her mother nods in response.
"Correct." She holds out a hand. "Show me the recipe."
Boscha hands her mother her notebook, already opened to the correct page. The mother observes the notebook carefully before lowering it.
"I see." The mother says. "You're certainly on the right track, though I won't tell you if the recipe is correct, that's what testing it is for."
"In the future you must remember." Boscha's Mother places the notebook on the table, though Boscha makes no move to reclaim it. "You will come to me with facts, not simple confidence."
"Yes Mother."
"Now then, we should get to business." Boscha's Mother takes a nearby seat as she pulls out a violet colored folder, Boscha's mom follows along, taking the seat in between Boscha and her mother. "We're all aware of the time so I'll be brief."
"Looking at your Potions test from this week." The mother opens the folder and pulls out a paper. "A+, perfect marks as expected."
"Your homework." She pulls out some more papers. "All finished ahead of schedule, including the extra credit."
"The grudgby season has come to a close." Another paper. "And of course the Banshees were the champions, with you highlighted as the star player."
"Although Amelia did get the winning goal in game four and Skara scored the final goal of the championship match." Boscha's mother sets the paper aside. "But those blemishes are negligible."
"Your Potion assignment is not finished." She sighs. "Ready for final testing or not the point is the assignment isn't completed."
Boscha winces at that but doesn't reply.
"I think you can give her some leeway on that." Boscha's mom defends. "She has a week to finish it after all, that's six more days."
"I suppose." Is all mother says in response, she then folds her arms, leaving all her papers laid out on the table. "Now then, is there anything you want to tell me?"
"There's..." Boscha looks at Maya briefly before meeting her mother's gaze. "There is a flying derby being held in three days, I've already signed up."
"Really?" Mother raises an eyebrow. "You avoided the last one."
"I hadn't had Maya long, it would have been a waste of time." Boscha explains. "But we've been practicing often, we'll win this one."
"You're confident in that?" Mother inquires.
"Irrelevant." Boscha announces, she moves to cross her arms but stops herself and lowers them. "We will win, that is the simple fact of the matter."
"Good to hear." Mother compiles all the papers back into the folder, stacks it onto Boscha's notebook and slides it over to Boscha. "Well, that should be everything."
Boscha looks at the items in front of her then turns to her mother, her mother nods and she takes them, setting them next to herself in the chair.
"I've reached a conclusion." Mother announces. "I shall allow your little excursion."
"Really?" Boscha does her best to hold back her smile.
"On one condition." Mother raises a finger. "You must take a sample of your potion with you and test it. I expect to see the final draft of your potion recipe when you return home."
"Yes mother, that won't be a problem."
"Good, now I believe I've left Odalia waiting long enough." She stands as she looks to her wife, still sitting down. "Lilian, ensure her permission slip is signed tonight."
"You can count on me honey." Boscha's mom cheers, pumping a fist in the air.
Mother walks towards the door, stopping next to Boscha's chair on the way. She looks at her daughter, who returns her gaze. Reaching out a hand she places it on top of the surprised girl's head.
"You've done well Boscha." She gives Boscha three gentle pats before retracting her hand. "I expect an even finer performance in the days to come."
"T-thank you mother." Boscha stares up at her mother, eyes shining.
"Now hurry up and finish your supper." The older woman continues her march to the door. "And head to bed once you've finished."
As the dining room door opens and closes Boscha raises her hands to touch the top of her head, she then returns to her supper with a smile. Maya lowers her claws, seeming to sigh as she relaxes.
"I suppose I should get your duffel bag ready." Mom hums while getting out of her chair. "It's only one night so I'll only pack the essentials."
"Thanks mom." Boscha says in-between bites of her supper.
Boscha's mom walks over and embraces her daughter in a tight hug.
"I hope you have a wonderful time with your friends." She says warmly, pulling away. "Will you need help getting ready for bed?"
"No thanks, I can handle it." Boscha shakes her head.
"Alright, see you in the morning Sweetheart." Mom smiles as she heads for the door. "Just leave your dishes there, I'll get to them later."
"Will do." Boscha waves goodbye, though her mom pauses in the doorway.
"Oh and one more thing." She smiles sweetly as Boscha looks back to see her. "Say hello to Amity for me will you? It's been so long since I've heard from her, are you two ok?"
"Yeah, yeah we're good." Boscha chuckles. "She's just been busy is all, nothing to worry about. I'll let her know you were thinking about her."
"Thank you Sweetie, goodnight."
"Goodnight."
After that Boscha is left alone to finish her supper and to think on things, she can't help but feel like this campout is going to be a major hassle. Skara and the girls will be there so she's sure to have some fun at least, but with who knows how many other students attending it has the potential to be more of a headache than anything else and she swears to the Titan if she has to deal with Willow, Amity, the human and whatever that other kids name is she's going to lose it. But Boscha can avoid them if she really needs to so ultimately she decides to shrug it off and focus on the fun that is to come.
After all, what's the worst that could happen?
