Chapter Text

"Is it possible to have peace?" Josie asks, rolling her eyes.The girl with brown hair and chocolate eyes is currently in the Mystical Grill trying to drink her juice in peace.

Which proves impossible if you have a crush on Landon Kirby.

Josie already regrets her choice to have come to drink her drink on the spot, instead of having taken away to go to the park on a quiet bench as usual. "Come on Jo, it's just a date." Insistings the naive boy with slight smoke. As if he knew the brunette was going to accept him eventually. "Sorry Landon, but I don't want to." Josie responds emphasisly with a sad but sympathetic fake smile.

The boy is not mean, he is even very nice, although he is a little pushy and lately he was starting to get a little too arrogant for Josies taste.

"But I only asked for one chance. After the date, if you don't want me, I'll let it go." almost begs the boy with black curly hair and ringed green eyes.

Josie takes the time to think, if she accepts, the boy will finally leave her alone. But could she take it while he talks about the Lords of the Rings throughout their dates, maybe Josie could cut it short by faking a family emergency. But that wouldn't really be nice for Landon. Plus, I'll give him a new excuse to ask for a date again. "Excuse me," Said a soft familiar voice cutting through the thoughts of the girl. Josie sees a beautiful girl next to her table "Is he bothering you?" She asks with a hint of anger.

"No, he was just about to leave."Josie responds with a fake smile and a meaningful look to her pushy classmate.

He rolls his eyes and leaves without words. It is not a backward look to launch a puppy beaten to Director of the girl for whom he has a crush on. Josie didn't see the action because she had turned into her savior.  

"I Hope I didn't disturb you." asks the pretty girl, she has gorgeous blue eyes and long auburn hair, moving closer to the witch. as Josie says. 

"No, I'm very glad you intervened." Answers the brunette with a big smile. "Why don't some people understand that when it's a no, I'm not going to change my mind in the next two minutes?"

The auburnette responds to a smile. "They're probably dumb, May I sit?" The brunette sounds affirmatively, "my name is Hope Marshall." For some reason it seemed wrong to Josie, she decided to ignore that feeling. "I'm Josie Saltzman." Said the witch with a shy smile, "Are you new to the town?" Josie asked, "Uh. Yeah, but I still don't know if I'm staying or going back home to New Orleans." Hope explains, paying close attention to Josie's reaction. "Oh." Said Josie a little disappointed, they secretly hope that this pretty girl stays in Mystic Falls. "Difficult choice." She offers a sympathetic smile.

"And you, are you from here?" Hope asks with a slight grimace. Josie thinks she is trying to smile.

"Yeah, I've lived most of my life in Mystic Falls. Proudly announces that I am the daughter of Alaric Saltzman."

Josie answered. "Must be neat, I guess you're from the Salvatore School." Hope said, paying attention to her choice of words.

Josie looks at her surprised, but she quickly realizes that she is wearing her Salvatore blazers. "Oh, well you suppose."

"I always do." Replied the Marshall with a smirk and an arrogant tone.

Josie chuckles, then glances at her watch, wincing. "Do you have to go?"

"You suppose though Marshall." Josie smiles. "Hope to see you again in the area."

"Goodbye Jo." Hope says asJosie leaves the facility with a big smile on her face.

When her sister enters their room, she is surprised to see Josie smiling and not depressed or burning things. That's what she's been doing for the past two months.

"Are you okay, Jo?" Lizzie asks unsure of her sister's reaction.

"Yeah ..." Josie responds dreamily as she lies down and starts looking at the ceiling.

"Reassure me dear sister, don't tell me it's the Hobbit that makes you smile like that." lizzie asked. 

"No, it's not him ... Today I met a girl and she's super hot." Josie replied, "So much the better." Sighs in relief the blonde, she always found that Josie has horrible tastes to choose her partners, but she also knows that there is no worse than Landon. "It reduces the chances of you and the service chicken being together." Now Lizzie just has to make sure that the girl her sister met isn't a manipulator with plans twisted in her head like one of Josie's ex.

Josie eventually realizes that she would probably never see this girl again and And the chances that Josie pleases Hope are almost zero And that even if she would, their future and fate together will make her run away.

That said desperate the young teenager who dreams of so much love

A few days later Hope Marshall joins the salvatore school, Josie is surprised by the fact that Hope is a hybrid part werewolf and part witch. Alaric Saltzman, headmaster of the Salvatore boarding school, he’s very proud of his title. Josie knows that her father loves it when there are certain rare supernatural children, it gives a welcoming and caring image of the tolerant school. The twins are currently giving Hope a tour of the school. Lizzie immediately notices the heart eyes that the hybrid is giving her sister, deciding to just brush it off, clearly too engrossed in explaining the long history of the Salvatore boarding school.

“Have you heard of malivore?” Lizzie asks Hope, trying to pull Hope's attention away from her sister. “Yes, vaguely.” Hope answers the blonde twin. “For the past year, we have been fighting creatures that shouldn’t exist. These monsters come from malivore. Our Local Hobbit claims he destroyed malivore, but he still refuses to say how he did it. Deep down I’m sure he is hiding something.” Lizzie explains with a roll of her eyes. “Is she talking about Landon, the boy that was bothering you at the mystic grill the other day?” Hope asks Josie, the brunette, noting that the hybrid doesn’t really like the pushy boy.

Lizzie’s eyes go wide for a split second, before rolling them. She realizes that the hybrid is the girl that had her sister feeling happy a few days ago. “It’s definitely him.” Josie replies. “He’s a phoenix, he’s sort of immortal and can’t be killed.” Josie continues giving her twin a meaningful look. The blonde twin could have sworn she heard the new girl whisper “that’s a shame.” A big smile adorned her face, she had found a new non bird boy companion.

Josie simply rolled her eyes, ignoring hope’s comment. “It’s over, I’ve saved the day, no one has anything to fear anymore.” Lizzie hums happily. Josie laughs at her sister’s antics, but a loud noise interrupts the girl's happy moment. Lizzie closes her eyes and takes a deep breath and makes a mental note for later to never say things like that again, it’s bad luck. “What just happened?” Hope asks stepping in front of josie protectively, josie looks at Hope confused. Lizzie rolls her eyes, the hybrid girl was already falling for her sister. “Let’s go check it out.” Lizzie replies heroically before heading towards the source of the sound, hope and Josie follow close behind her.

What they find is alarming: a cyclops is attacking the school, a monster of malivore. “I knew bird brain didn’t kill malivore.” Lizzie shouts proudly. “Let’s just kill him Liz.” Josie said glaring at her sister with annoyance, Hope follows behind closely. The brunette witch slowly walks to the other side of the room trying not to attract the attention of the new malivore monster. She opens a closet and pulls out a crossbow. “We need to shoot him in his eye,but in order to do that I need you two to get his attention.” Josie explains, Lizzie nods and Hope blushes hard with Lizzie following behind her. “Stop drooling over my sister, hybrid.” Lizzie says, causing her sister to blush. Now while her sister and the new girl are keeping the monster distracted, Josie moves to a corner at the bottom of the stairs where she can aim for the cyclops’ eye without him seeing her. Jose takes a deep breath in through her nose and exhales out through her mouth just like her father taught her.

As she fired, something heavy landed on her and knocked her to the ground. Josie’s arrow flies through the air and misses her intended target instead hitting hope Josie instantly felt bad upon hearing her sister swear. “Oh my god it’s not even her first day and I’ve already hurt or killed the new girl.” Josie says worriedly. “It’s ok Jo, I’ve got your back.” Landon assures Josie, holding out his hand for her trying to help Josie to her feet but Josie refuses his help by slapping his hand away from her as she stands on her own. “WELL I DON’T WANT OR NEED YOUR HELP LANDON !” Josie yelled at Landon. “Hey I was only trying to help.” Landon said. “Well you're not helping, all you're doing is making things worse.” Josie yelled at Landon forgetting about the cyclops.

The cyclops on the other hand has not forgotten about the brunette witch, but just as the cyclops was about to hit Josie an arrow was sent straight into his eye causing him to collapse. Lizzie thinks about beating up Landon but is pulled from her thoughts seeing hope kill the cyclops. Hope turns to Landon with an angry look plastered on her face, the hybrid launches herself at Landon pinning the boy to the ground. “I’m going to kill you!” Hope yells at the boy as she strangles the boy with her hands. It’s Josie’s voice that stops her from killing the boy. “If you hurt him again I won’t hesitate to hurt you.” Josie said. “You, hurt me, please don't make me laugh love.” Hope exclaimed with a smirk on her face, getting off of Landon and walking closer to Josie with each word.

Fearing that Hope might jump and attack Landon again, Josie grabs hope’s hand and pulls her away from Landon. Lizzie turns to the phoenix who is shocked by the hybrid’s actions. “Did you see that? That fat crazy woman tried to kill me, she's a psychopath, you can’t let her get away with that.” Landon exclaimed hysterically. The blonde twin gives the boy a fake smile. “Shut up you dumbass, at least she was trying to help unlike you who made things worse. You almost got us killed, she saved us so If I were you I’d be glad that my sister wasn’t mad enough to let the new girl kill you.” I said.

“Whatever.” Landon says, puffing out his chest. “Your father would never believe you anyways so it doesn’t matter.” Landon says. Lizzie grimaces, ever since Landon “defeated” malivore Alaric idolizes the boy so much so that he believes anything he says whether it’s true or not even over the word of his own daughters and he never punishes him. “You may be right, but Josie wouldn’t appreciate you picking on the new girl.” The blonde twin replies curtly. Playing the sister card is a bit of a low blow, but Lizzie doesn’t care. Landon has been obsessed with her sister since he first saw her, that’s three months that the boy has been obsessed with Josie. Lizzie finds that frightening, Josie says that he will move on eventually and to just let him be. Landon leaves the room at the same time that headmaster Saltzman enters, in a very… drunken state. “It seems that there are monsters attacking again. Apparently bird brain didn’t kill malivore.” Lizzie said before leaving in the direction of her room.

The relationship between Alaric and his daughters is far from perfect, Josie hardly talks to him anymore and Lizzie is always arguing with him. Lizzie lies down in her bed and looks at the door, she hopes that her sister is ok, the relationship between the two twins has changed. Now it is Lizzie who is trying to help her sister and Josie is the one who is distant and hiding secrets from her. Meanwhile in Hope's new room, Josie and Hope are sitting on the bed. Hope’s belongings are already there but neither girl pays any attention to them. “Try not to move.” Hope says, hope runs a hand over Josie’s arm, casting a healing spell that heals Josie’s injuries. “There you go. Do you feel better?” Hope asks. “Yes.” Josie replies softly, blushing. “Thanks for saving me today.” Josie says. “It’s okay you don’t have to thank me.” Hope’s voice fades, hope frowns and glances behind the brunette.

“I can hear a third heartbeat which is impossible with just the two of us in the room.” Hope says looking around confused. Josie stops breathing for a second. “Are you sure?” Josie asks. Hope nods and looks at Josie then at her stomach before realizing where the heartbeat is coming from. “Oh my god! You’re pregnant!” Hope exclaims. A shy smile is plastered on Josie’s face.”Yeah. I…” Josie begins to sob. “I swear I’m a virgin! I’ve never had sex with anyone! I don’t know how this is possible.” Josie says as tears stream down her face. Hope’s eyes widened, then she realized a few things. “Jo…” Hope whispered, placing her hand on the younger girl’s stomach. “Hope, I…” Josie said, still crying. “I’m not ready to raise a child by myself. I’m seventeen for god’s sake!” Josie said scared, hope cradled Josie in her warm arms. “Don’t worry, Jo, I’m here.” Hope whispered. Josie frowns, this felt familiar, almost like a feeling of deja vu. Josie thinks it’s just her imagination and decides to just enjoy Hope’s warm embrace. After all, she had only just met hope a few days ago.

Chapter Text

Hope Followed Josie everywhere she went. Lizzie wasn't too happy about it, the blonde found it strange that the hybrid was so invested in her sister. As for Josie, she doesn't really understand the teenager's devotion to her, but having the girl around reassures her. Josie's first ultrasound will be soon, she is thankful that she worked last summer and saved her money instead of spending it all. Josie believes she only has enough to pay for the first ultrasound and part of the second. Josie hopes to never tell her family about the child she is carrying. She knows that eventually they will find out once she starts showing. Hope and Josie are currently in the hybrid's room.

Hope strokes Josie's back while discussing their homework. The hybrid's fingers make the younger girl drowsy as she fights off sleep. "You can sleep Jo, I'll wake you up." Hope whispers softly as she leans in to kiss Josie's temple. "Okay." Josie said before drifting off to sleep. Hope sighs with relief as she hears Josie's soft snoring. The hybrid caresses the brunettes cheek. She can't believe that Josie is pregnant. Her Josie. The hybrid only hopes that the brunettes family won't be too mad at her and will be understanding of her situation. Otherwise Hope might have to kill them although that may be a little extreme and Josie might not take too kindly to that. Hope has thought about running away with Josie, away from mystic falls, away from malivore, away from the salvatore school, and away from their problems.

But Josie probably wouldn't agree to that idea after all Hope is a stranger to the brunette twin, a good friend at best. That word leaves a bitter taste in her mouth. The hybrid feels her tears streaming down her cheeks. If only Josie knew what she meant to the auburn haired girl.

Hope is definitely more stressed than Josie. Which doesn't really make a whole lot of sense, since Josie is the one who is pregnant and about to have an ultrasound. Hope has her driver's license and a car so she offered to take Josie to the gynecologist. They skipped gym class (sports while pregnant is apparently not recommended.) Hope was driving slow the whole ride to the doctor's office they we're almost late because of her driving. But luckily the doctor was also running late so once they got their they sat down in the waiting room. Hope keeps tapping her foot impatiently, The noise annoying Josie. "Stop that or I swear I'll cut off your foot!" Josie snarled, the hybrid looked at the brunette surprised. "Sorry." The auburn haired girl mumbled as she began wringing her hands. "I shouldn't have gotten mad, excuse me. I'm on edge and stressed out." Josie said worrying Hope even more than she already was.

"Stress is bad for the baby!" Hope exclaims looking at Josie, Hope takes Josie's hands. "You need to relax luv." Hope said calmly. Josie blushed at hearing Hope call her luv. Hope called her that often. Hope looked into Josie's eyes passionately with a longing almost a desire as if she wanted to say something to the brunette twin. "You're a lot more stressed than I am." Josie says as she looks down at their intertwined hands when she looks back up she sees hope with a super cute pout plastered on her face.

"Plus...uh..." Josie scrambles for something to say. "I-It relaxes m-me." Josie stutters, blushing. Josie raises their intertwined hands. Hope blushes heavily and begins to waddle back and forth in her chair which is slightly strange. The door flies open and a doctor calls Josie's name. Hope and Josie stand up and follow the doctor to the room he directs them to. "So ms. Saltzman, you're here to have your first ultrasound. How are you feeling today?" The doctor asks the brunette girl as he has her lie down on the bed. Hope sits next to him nervously biting her nails.

"A little stressed, but otherwise I'm doing fine." Josie replied to the man, taking Hope's hand in her own. "You need to relax. Did you stop drinking coffee? Your aunt dr. Salvator has mentioned several times how much you like caffeine." The man asks with a smile.

"I stopped of course. Does my aunt know about my pregnancy?" Josie asked with concern evident on her face. Hope glares at the doctor for making Josie uncomfortable. "Of course not, I abide by doctor patient confidentiality." The man says with a smile. "Ok now I' going to need you to lift up your shirt for me ok." The man said. Josie pulls up her shirt just underneath her breasts. "Why do you want to see her stomach?" Hope asked, annoyed at the man hope pulls Josie's shirt back down. Josie and the doctor were both surprised at Hope's explosion of possessiveness? Jealousy? "Hope." Josie's hand rests on the hybrid's cheek gently caressing it to calm her down. "It's to spread the gel so that doctor charadaux can see the baby." Josie explained to the auburnette girl. "Oh..uh..sorry." Hope murmured as she blushed, hiding her face in her hands. "It's quite alright miss saltzman?" The doctor says assuming Hope's last name as she has not yet introduced herself yet.

Hope blushes hard. "It's Mikaelson, not saltzman!" Hope responds quickly in a high pitched voice. Dr. Samuel Charadaux smiles wickedly the whole hospital hates when he does this. "You are a very devoted friend I guess." The doctor says. "This causes Hope to squirm around in her chair, blushing like a tomato."Y-yes." While Hope and the doctor were talking Josie had pulled up her shirt so that the doctor could spread the gel. "Fair warning this might be a bit cold." The doctor said, Josie nodded her head, while Hope held the brunette's hand for support. "So.... normally we would see the fetus appear on the screen." The doctor explains while looking at the sonogram. "The inside of your stomach looks nice... Jo." Hope said, blushing with a silly smile. Samuel wonders if that was an attempt at flirting with the brunette; he feels bad for Hope but doesn't show it in front of the unusual pair.

Thank you Hope, Josie blushed hard. For the next few minutes the doctor explains the ultrasound to hope and Josie, trying to show the girls where the fetus is. He leaves for a few minutes to get the photos of the unborn child he gives them the photos but neither him nor Josie says anything about how Hope is crying her eyes out. On the way back to the salvatore school, Josie hasn't taken her eyes off the auburnette the whole way home. "What's up?" Hope finally asks her cheeks flushed, Hope keeps her eyes on the road so they don't get into an accident. "Nothing... I was just wondering if you would mind if I stayed the night in your room tonight. Lizzie won't stop hounding me about what I did and where I was during gym class." Josie asks shyly. "You are always welcome in my room Josie. You don't have to ask." Hope replies with barely concealed enthusiasm.

Josie looked suspiciously at the hybrid, something about Hope seemed off. And the brunette was going to figure out what that was. Getting out of the car, Josie sighed with relief, she couldn't wait to take a shower. Her thoughts were interrupted when she bumped into someone who looked very mad but not at the fact that she bumped into them. "Where were you?" Landon asks in a cold tone, his angry gaze landing on the two girls, although he is looking at Hope like he's going to kill her. "It's none of your business Landon." Josie replies firmly, taking Hope's hand at the same time. Hope smiles victoriously back at the boy Josie rolls her eyes at the girl's childish behavior.

The two girls leave the curly haired boy alone in front of the Salvatore school entrance he frowns. Landon is convinced that the two girls are hiding a secret at least that's what his instincts as Josie's future boyfriend are telling him. A cheeky smile adorns the phoenix's face, whatever Hope and Josie were hiding he was going to figure it out then he will use it to his advantage. "What a jerk that one is! Frankly I hate him." Hope growls as she opens the door to her room. Josie slowly walks in. The two girls lie down on Hope's comfortable bed. Josie massages Hope's shoulders then her temples and finally her scalp to hopefully calm the girl down. "Ignore him, he's not worth our time hopey." Josie replies who seems to be more focused on the massage then their conversation.

"Let's not talk about him anymore, okay? I have lots of questions for you!" Josie exclaims as she backs away from the hybrid, Josie's false enthusiasm confuses Hope. "Jo, what's wrong?" The hybrid askes worriedly as she takes the brunettes hands in her own. "Hope..." Josie says shakily, Hope doesn't like it. "I think...the...baby's father must have jumped into malivore." Josie stammers as she looks down at her hands that Hope is currently holding. Hope stops breathing, her eyes moisten, her throat feels dry, she feels like she's going to throw up. The tribrid doesn't want to lie to Joise, not again not about this. "And..." Josie says, she closes her eyes, she inhales then slowly exhales. "I think you are a liar Hope Marshall, or should I say Hope Mikaelson." Josie says shocking Hope.
