"Watch your step," Harry insists, squeezing his daughter's hand.
"Listen to Papa," Louis adds. "It's slick out here."
Lucy grins and continues pulling Harry down the path. Harry's other hand is tucked into Louis's, so both of her fathers are sufficiently under her spell.
"C'mon, we'll be late!"
"They probably aren't even there yet," Harry mumbles. Lucy hears him, though.
"Bear said they were going to be early. Because seats fill up quickly."
"Well, then he's probably saving us all seats," Louis reasons, glad that his daughter has finally slowed to a manageable speed. She's only six, but she's quick and strong and there's no arguing with her when she gets going.
"But if Layla gets there before me, she'll get to sit by Markus and - "
"Gigi said they'd be running late today," Harry informs her. "And you sat between Markus and Bear last weekend. Don't you think you should - "
"Layla likes him," Lucy pouts. "And if they sit next to each other, they just - just stare at each other and Markus doesn't pay attention to me."
Harry bites back a smile, glancing back at his husband. "She likes him, huh? What about Bear?"
Lucy makes a face. "Bear's just Bear. She wouldn't like him like that. Plus, he's got a boyfriend, I think. I saw them kissing in the car the other day."
"Oh?"
"Yeah, it was gross. I don't know how they were breathing."
Louis snorts out a laugh.
"What?" Lucy demands, thinking her father's making fun of her. "Daddy, I did see it. They were kissing. And not stopping."
Louis shakes his head. "No, no, I believe you, darling."
