“Kacchan.”

“Fucking hell, what do you want?” Katsuki growled, eyes narrowing as he glared at the green-haired man before him.

“I know you have no reason to trust me, but… you need to know something,” Izuku said slowly, lifting his head to look at his former friend.

“The last time I trusted you, you betrayed us all. What makes you think I’ll listen to what you have to say now?” Katsuki growled, moving forward. He felt a hand on his arm, holding him back from the restrained man.

“Kacchan, you know I had no control,” Izuku said slowly, glancing at his former classmates behind the blond.

“Like hell you did. You could have listened to me and we wouldn’t be in this mess.” Katsuki’s voice became rough and thick with emotion, his eyes becoming glassy. “If you hadn’t...” he trailed off, closing his eyes tightly, fists clenched.

“You know I would never hurt you purposefully,” Izuku said slowly, looking back down at his lap.

“But you did. And we know you’re going to do it again.” Ochako said, her voice soft but full of anger. Katsuki reached back to silence her, moving towards Izuku and crouching in front of him.

“Why did you do it?” he asked quietly, tilting his head to try and meet his gaze. Izuku glanced at him before looking away again, sighing deeply.

“I needed to protect you… If I didn’t, he would have killed everyone…” he explained softly, closing his eyes to hide the tears.

“What did All Might always tell us Deku? We save to win…” he started slowly

“And we win to save…” Izuku murmured before sniffling and looking at his teacher. “Sensei… Please know I never wanted any of this to happen,” he murmured.

“I know Kid, but we have to keep you here until we can take down AFO. You’re a liability now. We can’t let you out, it’ll kill us all.” Aizawa explained slowly, looking towards the guards on either side of Izuku. “He can take over your mind again if he even gets one look at you. We can’t take that chance.”

“I understand…” Izuku murmured. “But I really need to tell Kacchan this,” he said, looking back towards his friend. “Alone.”

“We can’t do--” the guard was cut off as Izuku looked to Aizawa pleadingly. Aizawa sighed heavily before nodding.

“I’ll stay in here. But the rest of you need to leave,” he said. There were some protests from the guards and the other students, but Aizawa’s glare silenced them quickly. “It’s fine. I’ll be here to make sure nothing happens,” he stated firmly. There was silence for a few minutes before they finally conceded and filed out. Once the room was empty, save for Izuku, Katsuki and Aizawa, Izuku started speaking.

“I can’t have it anymore. You need to take One For All,” he said firmly. Katsuki’s eyes widened, standing up and glaring down at the smaller man.

“What? You know I can’t do that!” he growled, eyes narrowed.

“One For All?” Aizawa asked, glancing between them. Izuku levelled him with a stare he had never seen before. Full of remorse and sorrow.

“My quirk. I can’t have it anymore now that All For One is in my head. If he gets control of my body again, it’s over for everyone. I nearly killed you all already with the quirk under his control. But he can’t take it forcefully, it needs to be given with full consent.” He turned to Katsuki again, eyes full of determination. “Please Kacchan, you need to take it.”

“But… you’ll be quirkless again… your dreams would end here and now. You won’t be able to become a hero,” he whispered, slowly lowering to his knees again.

“That doesn’t matter anymore. I’d rather be a quirkless Deku than a Deku who hurts his friends,” he stated, tears filling his eyes. He looked between the two, noticing Aizawa’s confused look. “Besides, once he gets control again… I won’t exactly be Izuku anymore.”

“Midoriya, what do you mean quirkless? What do you mean give him your quirk? What the hell is going on?” Aizawa asked. Izuku let out a long-suffering sigh, rolling his eyes.

“Crash course. I’ve been quirkless for 14 years of my life, All Might gave me his quirk, One For All, a variation of All For One’s quirk. I can pass the quirk on to someone else and make it stronger. It’s why I have multiple quirks.” he explained shortly. “One For All is All For One’s brother. My quirk has been passed 8 times before me, I am the 9th user, I have 7 quirks,” he said before looking to Katsuki. “You know we can’t wait any longer. I can already feel him trying to take control again. If it weren’t for the quirk-cancelling cuffs, he would have already grabbed me. Please just take it.”

“No! I can’t! We were supposed to be hero partners together! We’ll figure this out!” Katsuki cried out, grabbing at Izuku’s legs, shaking them roughly.

“I want that more than anything Kacchan, but the plan changed. If I hadn’t been captured all those weeks ago, this wouldn’t have happened.”

“It’s my fault you were captured, idiot. If I hadn’t… if I just listened to you, you wouldn’t have been grabbed!” Katsuki shouted.

“Kacchan…” Izuku’s gaze became soft as he smiled gently. “You know for a fact I would jump in front of you to save you at any given moment. I always have, haven’t I?” he chuckled and then winced, his eyes fluttering as a shudder raced through his body. “Please Kacchan… I can’t hold him off for much longer. Just take it. I’ll only have traces of the quirk for a little while longer, but once he realizes I no longer have it, he’ll let me go…” or kill me. it was left unsaid, but they all knew it was a high probability.

“How would you even pass it on?” Aizawa asked, his voice quiet, almost weak. It was a lot to take in, but he knew he needed to be there for his students.

“He would have to consume some of my DNA. It’ll take 2 hours to fully transfer over. So in that time, I need you to keep him as far away from me as possible.” Izuku explained.

“Wait! What about the past users? Why aren’t they saying anything?” Katsuki asked. Izuku’s gaze darkened and he looked away, frowning deeply.

“AFO silenced them. I can’t feel their presence anymore,” he said softly. Suddenly, his eyes widened and he straightened up, eyes flashing with alarm. “We’re out of time. Kacchan please, you need to take it now. Take a strand of my hair and swallow it.” he said frantically.

“Fuck no, We’ll fix this! We’ll get him out of your head and we’ll kill the bastard! We can--”

“Katsuki!” he froze at the shout of his name, staring at Izuku in shock. The green-haired man was crying, his face morphed into pain and desperation. But there was a small smile on his lips. “Please…” he whispered. Katsuki sighed shakily before he glanced at Aizawa, who was also at a loss.

“Fine, but I’m not eating your nasty ass hair,” he growled and moved closer. Confusion slipped across Izuku’s face and he frowned.

“But you have to--” he was cut off when slightly chapped lips pressed against his own, his eyes widening in shock. Katsuki was kissing him. He shuddered for a very different reason, eyelids slowly falling shut as he leaned into the kiss, his racing mind silenced for once. He grunted softly when a warm tongue pressed past his lips to tangle with his own, stealing his breath away. Their tongues worked against each other, exploring each other’s taste and touch until they found a rhythm that worked, moving in sync and letting the feelings they’ve had pent up for years wash through them. Anger, fear, adoration, jealousy, but most importantly, love. There was also a promise within that kiss, one that only they would know about. Izuku knew then that it would be okay.

Katsuki slowly pulled away, wiping a trail of saliva from the corner of his lips. He was panting softly as he regarded Izuku carefully.

“I don’t feel any different…” he huffed.

“It takes time,” Izuku said, already feeling less… powerful. He sighed quietly, eyes fluttering shut as he relaxed back into his street. Aizawa wasn’t looking at the two, respectfully giving them privacy. When he realized they were done, he turned back, looking between them for a moment before standing straight.

“Now what?” he asked.

“Now we wai--” Izuku was cut off as pain shot through his head, a startled scream leaving him as he struggled against his restraints. He thrashed around a bit, his head throwing back as his eyes rolled back into his head.

“Deku!” Katsuki shouted, lunging forward.

“No! Stay back!” he shouted, shaking his head rapidly. “Sensei get him out of here!” Aizawa tensed up, grabbing Katsuki’s arm and starting to pull him back. He wasn’t sure he wanted to leave though, especially when Katsuki started struggling against him, trying to get back to his friend. “GO!” they both startled at the strangled screech, the voice from Izuku’s throat sounding nothing like him. It was deeper, rough and strangled as if he was speaking around shards of glass. His eyes were squeezed shut as his body started to twist on itself around the restraints.

“Izuku!” Katsuki called out, but Aizawa held him back, starting to pull him towards the door. Izuku’s eyes opened at the sound of his name, pain clear in them before he let out a long, suffering moan and his eyes rolled back in his head. Aizawa managed to yank Katsuki out the door, slamming it shut behind him. There, the other students and guards were waiting with bated breath. Todoroki, Iida, and Uraraka all straightened up, eyes widening at their distraught expressions.

“Sensei, Bakugo, what’s going on?” Iida asked. Before either of them could respond, there was a loud crash as the building around them shook, nearly knocking them off their feet. They shared a look before racing back into the room, only to freeze in shock.

The chair he had been chained to was completely destroyed, gouges ripping through the floor and walls, the chains broken and crushed as if it were made of sugar glass. There was a giant hole in the wall, rubble falling to the ground noiselessly. In the distance, they could see an odd shape flying away, slowly getting smaller the farther it got away.

“What… what just happened…?” Kaminari breathed, looking at everyone.

But no one had an answer.

All they knew was that Izuku was gone.

~End?~
