The AfterParty

Work Text:

The lights were shining, the music was blaring, the DJ booth was pumping, and everyone was throwing it back on the dance floor. All of the monsters and humans were having a blast at the party, as Johnny continued to DJ in the booth.

Over near the back of the giant room, sitting at a large round table draped over with a white cloth, Drac, Ericka and his friends were lounging the night away, chatting and having a good time. Drac and Ericka had changed out of their formal wear and into their normal clothes since it could get quite uncomfortable after some time.

Ericka was zoned out of most of the conversations, getting married was a dream for her, and it actually happened. She didn’t really know what to feel, but felt a bit of relief flowing through her, and a sense of peace. Then she was suddenly sucked back into reality. She saw that everyone had stopped talking for the moment and were scrolling through the latest social media. She leaned over to Drac and whispered something into his ear. He had a bit of trouble hearing her due to the thrumming of the music all around them. But he understood what she said. He nodded and kissed her on the cheek as she stood up and walked out of the room. “Where’s she going?” Murray asked, taking a sip of his champagne.

“She’s not going to bed is she?” Griffin asked, looking up from his phone.

“No, she's just going to the bathroom, she’ll be back in a second.” Drac replied, scrolling through some of the wedding photos he had saved on his phone.

——————————-

A few minutes later Ericka was on her way back to the table, but she had to pass the bar on the way back. She was striding past until she saw a fairly large brown tray sitting on the bar, with about nine little glasses filled with bubbly liquid. She paused and looked at the small glasses. She had never tried ‘bubbly water’ before. She glanced around quickly and gently grabbed one of the glasses. She put the glass up to her lips and took a sip of the substance.  It gave her a slight tingly feeling as the bubbles popped in her mouth as it ran down her throat. She chugged the rest of the glass and reached for another one. She mindlessly continued to down more and more glasses until when she reached for another one, they were all empty. She shrugged and headed back for the table.

As soon as she left, the fish man who was manning the bar for the night walked over to where the empty glasses were. He was confused when he saw the empty cups. “I could have swore I just filled these.” He said, shrugging and putting the glasses away and putting out nine new ones, filling them to the brim.

As Ericka headed back to her table, she passed another fish man who was carrying around a tray with more glasses, filled with the bubbly water. She immediately grabbed a glass as she passed him and got back to her table. She sat down and started to drink some more. Everyone noticed her return, but didn’t really know what to say.

“I see you found the champagne.” Drac said over to her, making her freeze and stop drinking. She didn’t say anything, or move for a few seconds, she was in shock. Drac tapped her on the shoulder, she didn’t move. He shook her gently, “Are you alright?” He asked, starting to become concerned. She snapped out of her trance and spat out the champagne that was in her mouth, accidentally spraying it all over Griffin who was sitting to her left. His glasses drooped and he sighed as he started to wipe his glasses off with a napkin.

“CHAMPAGNE?!?!” She screamed, slamming the glass down onto the table, trying to contain her panic.

“Well yeah!” Drac exclaimed, “have you never tried it before? You seemed to enjoy it!”

“But..But..B-But-“ She couldn’t get the words out of her mouth.

“Oh right! You were a captain! Captains’ aren’t allowed to drink right?” Griffin asked, giving his champagne-soaked napkin to a passing fishman. Ericka nodded and started to rub her face with her palms.

“Well why are you so nervous? Isn't it great? Champagne is one of my favorite drinks!” Griffin declared, grabbing his glass and taking a small sip. Before she could reply, Drac hopped back into the conversation.

“Wait a second, how many glasses did you drink?”

She dragged her face out of her hands, slightly looked up at him and sheepishly said,

“Uhm...about..10..” She choked out, trying not to break.

“Oh boy…” Drac sighed, covering his eyes with his hands and leaning back in his chair.

———————————-

About 15 minutes later, the party was still going strong. But now Ericka had no sense of direction and was running around like she owned the place.

Well, I guess she does technically now, but still.

“Ericka come back!” Drac cried, running in between monsters, trying to catch up to her. Even though she was drunk, she was still surprisingly nimble.

“Leave me alone!! I’ll be fine!!” She yelled over to him, staying ahead of him. After a few more seconds of chasing, Drac had lost sight of her. He started to glance around the giant crowd, anxiety starting to swarm him. He needed to get a better view around the room, so he flew up to the ceiling to survey the area. He immediately spotted her balancing on the edge of one of the refreshment tables. He dropped back to the ground and started to head over to her. But then others started to catch sight of her, and started to crowd around the table as if it was a stage. She noticed that she had started to gather an audience. So, she did what anybody would do when they had a crowd of people watching them, she started to moonwalk. The audience cheered her on, drawing Johnny’s attention from the DJ booth. So he decided to start playing ‘Thriller’. So she started to do the thriller dance. Everyone was cheering and clapping for her, not knowing that she was drunk and out of her mind.

“Honey! Get down, you're going to hurt yourself!” Drac wailed, trying to get the front of the crowd. Of course, she didn’t hear him. All she could hear was the echoing of everyone chanting and cheering her on. She continued her dance for a few more minutes, but it came to an abrupt stop when she came a bit too close to the end of the table. She wasn’t looking where she was going and she tripped over the side of the table and fell onto the ground with a yelp. Drac rushed over to her and picked her up. He quickly scanned her for injuries, and sighed when she looked fine.

“I think someone needs to go to bed.” He said to her, making her groan.

“I don’t wannaaaa!” She whined like a toddler, trying to push him away from her, even though he was holding her. She started to squirm and eventually got away from him and darted for the exit. He quickly followed in pursuit. Everyone was pretty confused on what just happened, but went back to parting not long after.

——————————

A few minutes later, Drac and Ericka were walking down a quiet hallway, and the only things making noise was the party fainting into the quietness, and their soft footsteps on the carpet. “Did you see what you just did?” Drac scolded, “you could have hurt yourself!” She scoffed,

“Uh huh. But I’m fine. I’ve jumped off mountains before! You want to see?” She retorted.

“Yes-no,” He snapped, “the point is, you could have injured yourself, or worse!”

“Mhm…” She mumbled sarcastically, seeing a fork in the hallway in front of her. She got an idea. When they came to the fork, she started to sprint down the left path.

“HEY!” Drac exclaimed, being caught off guard by her sudden dash, and started to chase her down the hallway. They ran around the maze of hallways for a few minutes, until Ericka started to run out of breath. She stopped in front of a vacant room and took a second to catch her breath. But Drac spotted her and zoomed over to her. He tried to slow down when he got closer, but he didn’t stop in time and slammed into her. His impact was so strong, he flung the door open and sent them, flying inside of the room. The door hit the inner wall so hard, it bounced back and closed itself. So they were just left in darkness, with a little bit of light streaming in from the window and a little bit from beneath the door from the hallway.

“OW! WHAT'S WRING WITH YOU!?” She yelled at him, still gasping for breath since he literally knocked the wind out of her.

“I’m so sorry!!” He cried, starting to sit up, “I couldn’t stop-“ He got cut off when she climbed on top of him and kept him pinned to the floor.

“Um...Uh...I’m…”He continued to stutter, “w-what are you doing?” She didn’t respond to him, she just locked her legs around his waist and pressed her blazing body against him, making him get slightly more uncomfortable. “Your….Uh…” He quietly cleared this throat, “um...very warm… .” As he stammered, she leaned down closer to him and pressed her lips against his. He still felt internal panic rising in him, but secretly loved the roaring sensation that was flooding his entire body. He rested his hands on her hips, and as their tongues entwined, he felt a feeling he hadn’t felt in centuries.

“Are you enjoying this... Draccy ?” She coaxed, slightly breaking the kiss to ask. He didn’t say anything, he just gently pushed her head back down and locked back into another kiss. They continued for several more minutes, as their actions conveyed their feelings. They only broke apart for short breaths of air. But things started to get dicey when Ericka started to finger the button on Drac’s cape. He didn’t really care too much when she popped it off and let it lay underneath them on the cold floor. Then she reached for his shirt. Again, he was starting to panic, but it wasn’t like she was taking off his pants, right? She took off his shirt and let it slide off of his arms and onto the floor. Then he had enough when she started to try and slide down his pants.

“MMMH!” He mumbled, panicked as he pulled his head away from her and slightly slid away, but she stayed on top of him and gripped his arms with her hands,

“What’s wrong?” She asked seductively, her eyelids slightly drooping, trying to go back to taking his pants off.

“We can’t do this!!” He cried, backing away from her, but backing into a wall as she put her hands on his shoulders, heat blazing from her palms, burning through his shirt and into his skin; pushing him to the ground.

“You can’t leave yet!” She said to him, “we’ve only just started!!” She leaned her head down and tried to go back to making out with him, but he gently pushed her away and stood up. Using his magic to put his shirt back on and to reattach his cape. He opened the door, walked out and locked it behind him. Keeping Ericka inside, “HEY!! YOU CAN’T LEAVE ME HERE!! LET ME OUT!!!”

“I’ll come back for you once you calm down!” He said to her, but she kept yelling,

“RELEASE ME AT ONCE!!!!!” He sighed and went back to the party.

“Well finally!! Where’d you go?!” Griffin asked, looking up from his phone.

“Oh um...She fell asleep when we got back to our room.” He explained, sitting down. He realized he forgot to smooth down his hair before coming back, and his clothes were a bit crooked. Everyone at the table takes notice and quietly chuckles to themselves.

“Looks like the newlyweds got a little naughty, huh?” Murray joked, “couldn’t wait until your honeymoon?” Everyone stared at Murray as Drac looked down at the ground in embarrassment, blushing.

An hour or so later, the party died down and everyone headed back to their rooms. Drac passed the room where he locked Ericka inside. She was still pounding on the door, demanding to be let out. So, he decided to come back for her the next evening.

————————

The next night he got ready and went back to the room where Ericka was. He unlocked the door and quietly opened it. The room was completely trashed and he spotted Ericka sleeping peacefully on the bed, the sheets ripped off the bed in rage and half lying on the floor. She had heard the door open and opened her eyes. “D...Drac?” She asked, groggily, trying to sit up.

“How are you feeling?” He asked softly, walking over to her, sitting next to her and helping her sit up.

“My...My head feels like it’s going to explode…” She groaned, putting a hand on her forehead to see if it would dull the pain, “What happened last night?” He hesitated for a second, but knew that telling her would be the best thing to do,

“Oh..Um..nothing much, you just drank ten glasses of champagne, got drunk, danced on top of a table, tried to make love with me, and got locked in this room.”

She looked down in shame, “Oh...A lot happened, huh.” He put a hand underneath her chin and lifted her head to look at him,

“It’s alright, my sweetfang.” He cooed, leaning down to kiss her, and she didn’t hesitate to kiss back.

End.

Extra:

“Oh also you owe 150$ for all of the champagne you drank.” Drac said nonchalantly to Ericka as they sat in the lobby.

“Wait, WHAT?!”
