Summary:

Izuku was a planner - and Hawks just likes riling them up!

for Deku Hawks Week 2021!

Notes:

second prompt! I also may or may not have had more of my own personal influences slip through whilst writing (ace spectrum thought processes ftw!!)

Work Text:

Izuku was a planner in most every aspect of their life; the never ending amount of scribbled organizers and their calendar app was a true testament about how much thought and effort go into planning what they can foresee.

There were some definite curve balls thrown into their timetable (Kacchan wasn't supposed to break their arms during training! Kaminari wasn't supposed to fry his brain during that bank robbery they had impromptu teamed up to stop - and most definitely number 2 Pro Hero Hawks wasn't supposed to flirt with them during an awards dinner and eventually take them on THE most romantic date they'd ever been on; to accurately quote Ochako, the panties had definitely been dropped after that date).

So, shortly after realizing that Hawks (or Keigo, as the suave hero had requested they call him after said panty dropping date) actually *had* feelings for them, of course a notebook was constructed purely for the planning of future dates between the two; primarily the dates were romantic with maybe a slight interweaving of intrigue and indication that Izuku wanted to take their dates to a more...sexual level.

Despite Izuku being well into adulthood, they hadn't had many romantic partners - mostly because they were a Pro Hero and that passion gladly took priority over their own personal feelings but also because....Izuku hadn't really felt any sexual attraction to others. Sure, they had mountain sized feelings about a certain explosive red eyed hero, but they had known Kacchan since infancy and that relationship was complicated (they had a few notebooks written out for that complicated web of emotions and feelings).

The entire concept of a "crush" had always been confusing and anxiety inducing subject for Izuku to begin with - throughout high school they were convinced that something was wrong with them when everyone else would talk about "crushes" and they'd be left confused or slightly repulsed by the idea. How can someone just...crush on someone without knowing them first?

Eventually they had asked for more info (after planning out exactly what they were to say, with multiple branches of follow up questions or excuses depending on responses) from others. The conversation went well, and they came out of it knowing that they weren't defective but also realizing that attraction in most of its forms were going to be a challenge for them. Of course that made relationships that much easier to back burner as being a Pro Hero was something they'd aspire to be since they had been a child.

It had been a few weeks since the two had The Romantic Date™ and Izuku had compiled about 25 different date ideas in their off time, refusing to let them see the light of day or other's eyes because they'd die of embarrassment. Keigo and Izuku still competed to see who got to scenes first, whenever Keigo was in the area and today was no exception.

"Too slow Deku! I could have gone around twice before you got here" Hawks greeted jovially as Izuku landed next to the group of Heroes near a hulking form between two buildings. Izuku smirked in silent answer but kept their eyes trained on the being in front of them.

"Is that what you tell yourself to make you feel younger?" they responded after a few seconds, their analyzing mind already coming up with a few ideas of keeping property damage to a minimum. Next to them, DynaMight rolled his eyes and snorted violently, making a sidekick take a step away apprehensively.

"I fuckin' swear, I am not gonna stand here and listen to you two flirt all damn day! Do that on your own time," he barked.

Izuku glared over at the explosive hero with a light pink dusting their cheeks, sweeping some curls out of their face and switching between feet.

"Shut up Kacchan, I've already got a plan or two in the works. I can multitask," they replied with a small small over in Hawk's direction, who grinned and winked in response. As Izuku and Katsuki argued good naturedly back and forth Hawks listened impassively, sending some of his bigger feathers out towards the hulking figure that wasn't really causing any damage but had assisted in distracting authorities during a bank robbery. While yes Mount Lady could have duked it out Godzilla style (and Hawks was sure she would have liked that publicity), the damage to the surrounding area would have not been the most ideal of situations.

Before the two could come up with a solid plan, Hawks suddenly dashed towards the figure with a mighty flap of his wings. His golden eyes narrowed in concentration and he shot up the front of the figure, happy when he saw giant eyes following his ascent. He heard Izuku sputter his name in alarm but figured they'd catch on as their plan was closely aligned with what he was already going to do. As the being was distracted by Hawks, Izuku shot forward in a flash of green light and kicked one of the gargantuan feet, knocking the figure off balance with a howl. Without missing a beat, Katsuki shot up towards the midsection of the giant and let off an explosion that didn't actually make contact with skin but reverberated out and knocked the giant flat on its back thanks to Izuku kicking out one of his legs. Hawks shot the feathers he had sent out, pinning the giant by his clothing to the concrete below; Izuku knocked the giant out before he could rise with a well aimed kick to the temple.

Landing next to them, Hawks grinned and leaned into Izuku's space slightly, grin widening when they squeaked softly and blushed.

"How about you and I remind me how spry and young I am later? You free after patrol today?" he asked with a mischievous glint in his gold eyes.

"U-uh, yes? I mean, I d-didn't have any plans later?" they sputtered with a reddening face. Hawks winked and brushed some hair away from one of their eyes.

"Then it's a date Hero."
