Summary:

jimin breaking down during his mots on:e ending ment leaves jeongguk just a bit worried

Notes:

this is the baby sister of the other two parts but it can definitely be read as a stand-alone story

it's about this moment prompted by ksyusha (and then a bit later by grace)

((the rehearsals are coming after this!! just needed to get the crying out of the way))

I've been intensively in a jikook mood these past days so this is yet another ode to their love, platonic or otherwise. it's short, it's cheesy, it's everything them. I hope you enjoy!!! <3

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

“You were more worried than usual.”

Jeongguk chews faster, frowning at his food instead of meeting Jimin’s smug smile over their grease-filled table. “You sounded worse than usual,” he says and swallows, stabs for another piece of meat. “And you were.” He finally raises his eyes and meets Jimin’s, playfully defiant, eyebrows arching with a smugness of their own. “ –worse than usual. Am I wrong?”

Jimin laughs with verve, head tipping back, but eyes still wet – from laughter, from crying, from life, from too much love. “You know hyung that well?”

“Of course,” Jeongguk replies, brow just as angry, mouth working furiously around more food. “We all know each other really well in that way, right?”

Jimin’s laughter subsides to an amused smile, hand curling and uncurling around his Soju glass. “Right.”

Jeongguk can sense Jimin thinks he’s bullshitting him – or he’s just teasing for the hell of it – but Jeongguk is exhausted too, both emotionally and physically, and now – when he’s finally able to sit down with Jimin and good food in the privacy of their own apartment for once – Jeongguk doesn’t really want to waste energy on silly games.

“It’s okay to get like that, you know,” he goes on with his initial spiel. “We talk about it all the time nowadays – how it’s okay to cry and let your emotional out and all that – but this time, I could tell it was more than the usual. It’s not easy to let yourself feel so much before millions of strangers. It was in your tremoring voice and – in the way you would – your breathing was really – and you were – your cheeks got all –“

“Jeongguk-ah,” Jimin aborts him with a soft smile and moon-crescent eyes. “I get it. And you were right. I felt… “ He expresses it with a hefty exhale, one so big and loud and long that it has Jeongguk’s attention fully snapping back on him, lips paused open and eyes even wider. “None of that, come on,” Jimin murmurs, lips pouting in a way that’s meant to both coo at Jeongguk’s antics and act cutely.

It’s in simple, familiar, habitual moments like these that it hits Jeongguk all over again just how in love he is with Jimin.

“How are you feeling right now?” Jeongguk rushes to ask. “I thought you were better.”

Jimin nods quickly, reaching over the table to hold his hand. His Jeonggukie gets like this often.

At this stage in their relationship – married with vows renowned thrice over, as Taehyung and Hoseok like to complain about – they have long learned how to deal with – well, everything. They know how to approach each other, as much as they know how to address any kind of problem – and if they don’t, they cross that bridge together.

But sometimes, instinct gets the better of them. More often than not, it’s hard to not let concern and love talk over patience and common sense.

“Was there more to it?” Jeongguk continues firing questions, and he even lets his chopsticks down.

“No,” Jimin assures, thumb caressing the back of his palm, “but it’s not a feeling that goes away. It didn’t start tonight either. We’ve all been feeling this way for a while, didn’t we? I just got overwhelmed, a bit, but there’s nothing you –“ He shakes his head at the slip-up Jeongguk already heard. “There’s nothing any of us can do. Don’t get upset over this too. I’ll be okay, same as all the members. We can only move forward.”

Jeongguk’s shoulders slump, and he reluctantly takes ahold of his chopsticks again. “I know,” he mumbles, filling his mouth with rice and taking his time with it for a while. “It’s just that I hate seeing you like that. We all feel the same, but – did you notice this about yourself? You never cry when we do. You hide it well so you can be there for us, but when things get too much for you – it all – it’s like it’s all culminating, too much to hold in, so you just tip over. That’s why I worry. I never know with you,” he trails off quietly. “I never know how serious it really is.”

“Hey,” Jimin admonishes, tone gentle. “I’ve gotten better with it. I don’t suppress my feelings these days, so you gotta get used to me crying too. I hate seeing you like that too, but it’s not a bad thing, yeah? We gotta remind ourselves that. Experiencing sadness can be healing too.”

“I guess.”

Jimin tugs on his hand to have him look him in the eye again. “Don’t think I didn’t see you fretting over me. My heart ached for you, because you always feel too much too – for all of us. You always cry when we do, my empathetic Jeonggukie.”

Jeongguk scoffs to hide his embarrassment. “I just care.”

“I know. Don’t say it like it’s a bad thing.”

“I’m not. You just need to let me be – you need to let me take care of you, hyung. That’s all.”

Jimin can’t do anything but watch him with overflowing fondness. He moves their hands, absently intertwining their fingers. “And you are. I promise you you’re taking such good care of me. I don’t know what I would do without you.” It’s a common sentence, true nonetheless, but Jimin says it with so much vulnerability that Jeongguk almost gets worried all over again.

“You’d do just fine,” he argues. “You’re Park Jimin. You can do anything.”

Jimin huffs, bashful and endeared and maybe just a bit outraged. “Park Jimin isn’t all that whole without Jeon Jeongguk, is he?” Jeongguk snorts and Jimin pulls on his hand. “I’m serious, Jeongguk-ah. Maybe it’s not the healthiest mindset, but it is what it is: I don’t know life without you. I don’t think I could ever be without you. Even if one day we break up, you will never not be a part of me. You did that to me. For me. You’ve molded your soul into mine and it doesn’t know loneliness anymore.”

Jeongguk’s features mellow out. “Ah, hyung. You’re so corny.”

“I told you,” Jimin replies proudly. “We have to express our feelings more and that’s exactly how I feel. I’d hope you don’t feel the same, but I know you do. What would you do without Park Jimin, hm?”

Jeongguk looks upset only at the thought of it. “Let’s not talk like that. We’ll be together until we grow old. You said so.”

Jimin agrees. “I did say so. Only you can change that. If you ever want me gone, you know I’ll –“

“Jimin,” Jeongguk scolds, down-right offended. “All these emotions got to your head, seriously. Don’t think like that. Besides, if either of us is to leave the other it will be you, not me.”

At first, Jimin stares at him with a frozen smile, not yet able to figure out whether Jeongguk is being serious or if this is payback for his own comment. But then Jeongguk isn’t laughing and the tick in his jaw tells Jimin that this might not be the first time he’s thinking about it. It sets him off.

Jimin retracts his hand with a jerk, standing up and rounding the table before Jeongguk even realizes it.

“Hyung –“

But Jimin isn’t having any of it, pushing at his shoulder to get him to lean back. Jeongguk forgets all about his food and shifts on instinct, making space for Jimin to settle in his lap and drape his arms around his shoulders, his own greasy hands finding Jimin’s waist.

“Do you really think that?” Jimin asks as soon as they’re close, nose-to-nose, eye-to-eye where Jeongguk can’t evade anywhere. “Do you truly think I would be the one to leave you?” He can’t mask the hurt in his voice and Jeongguk reacts to it immediately, rubbing at his sides and pressing a quick, consoling kiss to Jimin’s chin.

“Not like that, baby. I know you wouldn’t leave me, but… “

“But?” Jimin almost whines, on the precipice of fury.

Jeongguk sighs, hands trailing down Jimin’s thighs where he squeezes in lieu of comforting words. “It’s all hypothetical. Don’t take it so seriously. I just meant – between the two of us – if it ever came down to it, I know I would never ever give up on you.”

“And I would?”

Jeongguk groans. He’s just backing himself up in a corner, but far worse than that, he is making Jimin feel like shit. “You wouldn’t. It’s just that – you’re Park Jimin,” he says weakly. “You’re so easy to love and you have so much love to give. And – listen – how should I put it?” Though Jimin’s tongue burns to interrupt him, he doesn’t. “You’re the one who taught me to be realistic and take life and change as they come, so I’ve started thinking about it,” he confesses. “We don’t know where we’ll be five years from now. Heck, we don’t even know where we’ll be in six months, not to mention the military service, the group, the members, ‘BTS’, careers or any future projects. We won’t always have the luxury of being together every day, and even if our feelings will never change, maybe, who knows… maybe one day someone else will be able to cater more to your needs than I can. It has nothing to do with love.”

Jimin body falls back out of his own accord, even when Jeongguk’s hands are quick to bring him back and hold him still. He thinks he knows what Jeongguk means, but there are still so many confusing variables in-between. “You think very far ahead,” he starts evenly, not wanting to dismiss Jeongguk’s anxieties just because they’re so ridiculous to him. “You assume a lot too – things that are very unlikely to happen. True, maybe we’re forty and we each have different careers, in different places with different people, but Jeongguk-ah,” he says with hurt, “I will still come back home to you. At this point in our lives, with everything we’ve been through – together – how do you think there will ever be anyone else who can be more to me than you?”

Jeongguk is silent. He takes one hand off of Jimin to grab a napkin and dab at the corners of his mouth, realizing like a very, very faraway afterthought that his lips are full of sauce. Now that he peers at Jimin, he sees the oily shape of his own lips marking his chin. He cleans that too, slowly and with no rush. Jimin starts growing restless in his lap and it’s only then that he sighs and throws the napkin away, hand reclaiming its place on Jimin’s thigh.

“We’re still talking hypothetically, yeah?” Jeongguk starts cautiously. He didn’t want them to talk about this, not now or ever, but he dug up this grave and he knows he can’t leave it like this – open and with no explanations. “I know it will always be me and you, but it’s not about that. Sometimes, circumstances happen, and the closest person next to you will be able to do more.” His fingers catch Jimin’s chin, stroking gingerly like one would try to appease an untamed cat. “Do more even than the love of your life. It’s not about love,” he repeats. “It’s about convenience and getting through the day.”

At the end of it, Jimin does gets it. Strangely, he’s even relieved – or, well, relieved is not the word for it, but it’s something he can overlook. Jeongguk, after all, is right, and Jimin even agrees with these fundamental facts, but they remain outlandish to him. The two of them – it will never be like that. He knows it like he knows the maze of his own heart.

So he moves in and leaves a chaste kiss to Jeongguk’s sweet lips, communicating everything and all in just that one press of mouths. When he pulls back, he brushes Jeongguk’s hair out of his eyes and pecks his nose because he wants to. “You’re so wise, you know that? It almost makes me sad that you’re so mature for your age.”

Jeongguk laughs it off. “I think that’s all of us. Yoongi hyung must be, like, eighty by now. RM hyung basically already reached absolution.”

Jimin hums, playing along. “Is that right? What about me?” he asks, fiddling with the hairs at his nape.

Jeongguk pretends to ponder, hands inconspicuously dipping around Jimin’s thighs and up, fingers resting just around the curve of Jimin’s ass. “I’d say about… sixty-nine?” He grins widely, anticipating Jimin’s indignant Yah.

It comes, of course, and then it’s quickly followed by a chortle and a playful slap to his chest. Jeongguk is fast to catch his hand and hold it there.

“I’m sorry, Jimin-ah,” he resumes. “Really, I didn’t mean to tell you all that and worry you. They’re just – yeah, irrational fears. Nothing is impossible and that’s what’s scary about life.”

“That’s what’s exciting too,” Jimin rebukes. “That’s what gives us hope. But with you – with us – I don’t need to hope or pray. We’re the only ones in control of what happens to us, because you are right. It’s not about love. Love is easy. Being in love takes no effort. But being together… “ He settles closer to Jeongguk, needy as he places his head on his shoulder and kisses his neck. “That’s all us.”

Jeongguk hugs him, arms tight and safe around Jimin’s smaller body. He rubs down his spine as they let this moment wash over them, knowing they both think the same. Every second together is precious. There is no ending in the close future, but same as him, Jeongguk knows Jimin cherishes their time to the fullest. They can never get tired of each other. Nothing is ever too much or enough.

And that –

That’s just so incredibly rare to find.

Jeongguk can never thank their lucky stars enough. How blessed are they – to not only find each other in this big scary world, but to also love each other just as much. Sometimes, he wonders if this isn’t the first life they met each other, because what he has with Jimin feels like home, like a meant-to-be.

Sometimes, romantic or not, he truly believes the universe created them as one.

“Are you sleepy?” Jimin mutters, breath fanning warmly against his skin.

Jeongguk turns to kiss his eyelids. “Not really, but you are. Let’s go to bed.”

Jimin makes a noise of refusal. “Finish eating. I interrupted you. If you want to, you can stay for longer. I just –“ He cuts himself off with a yawn.

Jeongguk smiles, gingerly petting at the back of Jimin’s hair. He really must be drained, because Jimin seldom goes to bed before him. “No, I’m good. Just wanna lay down with you.”

“Okay.”

Jeongguk stands up, easily lifting Jimin too and tucking him around his torso as he walks them to their bathroom.

The apartment feels too big sometimes. Even with the two of them, Jeongguk always said there was too much unoccupied space. He’s always been practical, never needed a lot as long as there was room for his equipment, but the living room alone can host a fifty-people gathering, so there’s that.

The place is actually his, but it’s been unsaid since the beginning that Jimin will have his own room here (and vice versa with Jimin’s own place too). He very rarely sleeps in it, but nonetheless, it’s good storage for his clothes and other inconsequential things. There will be days too, nights more often than not, that Jeongguk needs his space and Jimin will happily retreat and offer Jeongguk his solace. It hasn’t always been like that, but they adapted to each other over the years. Though Jimin is not the same, he was always ready to leave the apartment altogether when he gets like that.

Yet with time, Jeongguk found himself asking Jimin to stay each time. Maybe not in the same room, but he was never bothered by Jimin’s presence. No matter his mood, Jeongguk will always be soothed knowing Jimin is just beyond the next wall, reading or listening to music or napping or cooking something awful for him.

And Jeongguk never thought he could be like that with someone. Is that what they call co-dependency? And if they are, is it truly such a bad thing to be like that with someone you love? Life should never be about holding back. It should –

“Brush my teeth for me.”

Jeongguk chuckles, depositing Jimin on the counter next to the sink and patiently untangling his vine-like arms from around him. “Sure, baby.”

Jimin’s eyes are droopy when he glares at him. “I’m serious. Don’t make fun of your hyung.”

Jeongguk turns on the tap and tsks at him, blindly reaching for Jimin’s toothbrush. “I’m not. I’ll do it. I did it before, remember?”

Jimin crosses his arms, suddenly very serious. “I was really drunk though. You had no other choice.”

Jeongguk squeezes toothpaste down the head before pointing the toothbrush at Jimin’s face. “Don’t lie to me. I know you were just pretending so I can do it for you. Seriously, Jimin, I don’t know how you can be so lazy with the most menial tasks. You’ll be in the dance studio for fifteen hours straight, but then ask of me to uncap your water bottle.”

Jimin pouts. “Maybe I just like you doting on me,” he whispers, barely intelligible even in their dialect, but Jeongguk will always hear him. “Besides, didn’t you just say you want to take care of your hyung?”

Jeongguk pecks his lips because he can’t help himself, and then he lets his thumb graze at Jimin’s lower lip, softly coaxing him to open his mouth. “I did and I will. Who’s the baby here, hm?”

“You are,” Jimin insists gravely, but his smile gives him away. Jeongguk nods, like he’s merely indulging him, and then he brings the toothbrush to his mouth, purposefully smudging the toothpaste all around.

Jimin laughs and shoves his hand away, plucking the toothbrush from his fingers. “Fine. I’ll do it, you insufferable brat.”

Jeongguk sticks his tongue out and reaches for his own toothbrush. “Hey, I offered.”

Jimin rolls his eyes and reluctantly starts brushing his teeth, and so, they sit in comfortable silence as they lazily finish their nightly routine.

They already showered, clad in cozy clothes, so after they’re done, Jeongguk doesn’t hesitate to pick up Jimin again and carry him to the bedroom. He turns off the lights in their wake, but he still needs to go back for their phones and chargers.

“I’ll clean up in the morning!” Jimin shouts his promise from the bedroom and Jeongguk replies with a knowing, “Sure you will.”

“I will.”

“I didn’t say anything!”

“You were being sarcastic!”

“’Cause I know you! And I know exactly how you are in the morning when you just wake up and you never – oh. Hi.”

“Hi.”

It’s no news, certainly not to Jeongguk, that Jimin foregoes a top when he goes to sleep.

Jimin’s body is generally no news to Jeongguk, but there is something indescribable about Jimin on their bed right now – something that has his throat closing up in the way the blue hour light lingers on Jimin’s skin. It spills down the side of neck – a dark glow that has shadows carving out the divots of his collarbone and hard chest. It’s matted into his skin, into the slopes of his stomach and along the sharp cuts of his hips. It’s a tender caress down his legs, because Jimin is only wearing briefs to bed today.

Jeongguk doesn’t think much anymore. He hurries to join Jimin, pulling his own shirt over his head while simultaneously stepping out of his sweatpants. He didn’t put any underwear on after his shower, but Jimin’s eyes are solely on his face when he crawls over him.

He doesn’t let Jimin comment either, kissing whatever silly coy thing he was about to say right out of his red mouth. Jeongguk inhales him in, wrapping arms under him and pressing them together crushingly, like everything is urgent suddenly, like he wants to soak Jimin straight into his veins.

Jeongguk can feel him giggling between their joined tongues, but Jimin is gripping at him just as avidly, limbs winded around him like he will never let go. And that – Jeongguk feeds on that.

Jimin rolls them around, tries to, but Jeongguk locks him firmly against the mattress, getting one knee between Jimin’s legs and spreading his thighs to accommodate him closer. They’re tangled, head to toe, skin on skin, everything is warm and pleasant and them, but then Jeongguk feels Jimin’s dick squished against his leg and for some ungodly reason, he finds the texture of it so funny in the moment, that he bursts out laughing, inadvertently getting spit everywhere.

Jimin blinks, ruffled and perplexed. “Jeongguk-ah… “

Jeongguk clamps a hand over his mouth, eyes comic and round before he booms with laughter again at the sight of Jimin’s eyelashes sprinkled with drool. He wipes down his whole face with a wide palm. “I’m so sorry. So sorry, baby. There. I thought you were into spitting tho-“

“I can’t believe you ruined such a hot kiss. Get off. I’m sleeping on my side of the bed tonight.” Jimin pushes at Jeongguk’s chest and manages to tip him off balance, but then Jeongguk doesn’t let him go anywhere, following after him with grabby arms and attacking him with smooches all over his shoulder and face.

“Come back, come back, come on,” he whines between wet pecks as he cages Jimin against his chest. “I said I’m sorry. I’ll be hot again; just give me a second to get over your limp dick.”

Jimin pauses and looks over his shoulder with squinty eyes. “My what –“

Jeongguk’s hand skates down his front until he can take a handful of Jimin’s briefs. “You’re soft,“ he says and lovingly taps Jimin’s dick.

Jimin scoffs, shooting a hand between Jeongguk’s own legs to give him a merciless squeeze. “So are you, Jeongguk-ah. If you make another age joke –“

Jeongguk gurgles something between a squeak and a groan, warding off Jimin’s hand with near tears in his eyes. “Why do you have to be so rough with it? It’s like you don’t need it anymore, I swear.”

Jimin turns on his back so he can fully face him, fluttering his eyelashes and smiling sweetly all the while. “Should I kiss it better?”

Jeongguk glares. “Yes.”

Jimin shrugs, getting on his knees complacently, but Jeongguk rolls his eyes and pushes him back. “I was kidding. In the morning. I’m not really in the mood right now, if I’m being honest.”

“Clearly, if you have time to mock my pretty dick.”

“I was not mocking your pretty dick!” Jeongguk says, voice high pitched. “I was just –“ He vaguely gestures at Jimin’s crotch. “I felt it against my thigh and it was just really… squishy? And then this image popped in my head of your poor soft cock just suffocated to death by my own body, like just hanging on there for dear life, and I just –“ He dissolves into a new peal of laughter and Jimin doesn’t even try anymore.

He shakes his head with irrepressible adoration and flicks his forehead. “You’re so stupid sometimes.”

Jeongguk leans in and blows a raspberry right on the side of Jimin’s neck because he knows he hates it. “I am. So are you. Two dumb idiots, you and me. Greatest love story ever told.”

“Well, not exactly told,” Jimin starts grumbling and Jeongguk immediately digs fingers into his armpit.

“Don’t start now. I ruined our sexy times with something funny, not tragic –”

He’s overpowered by Jimin’s loud pleas, spasming in his arms as he desperately tries to get away from Jeongguk’s onslaught of tickles. “Stop – stop.”

Jeongguk doesn’t, just because he loves the sound of Jimin’s laughter and the sight of his bunched up face. Jimin’s eyes have completely disappeared behind ruddy cheeks and Jeongguk already misses them – big and honest and so full of life – so he stops. He stops and he stares, palm flat against Jimin’s rabbiting heart.

Jimin opens his eyes and looks up at him, a bit dazed, a whole lot in love. “What are you looking at?”

Jeongguk doesn’t reply, but instead, he lets his hand do the talking. It slips around Jimin’s ribs, over his tattoo, and then it goes back again, up his sternum and around his neck. He feels his pulse, gives it a soft grip, before tracing a vein to where it disappears underneath his sharp jaw. The back of his fingers maps out the side of Jimin’s face, feathery touches against his temple, brow and nose, before they stop on Jimin’s panting lips.

He has never been simple.

Park Jimin is a monster of a man, intricate, complex and layered, yet thin glass to the eye – made to be admired and handled carefully, because he opens to no one but to fragile hands and worthy hearts.

“Is it too early to wax poetic about your beauty?”

Ten minutes ago, Jimin would have perhaps laughed it off and made a joke, but now –

Now he is bare.

His chest expands under Jeongguk, and he blooms. “No,” Jimin says with a tight throat. “It’s never too early. You love me so much, don’t you?”

It’s such a stupid thing to say. Jeongguk almost snorts. Not at Jimin’s words, but at what he means. You love me so much and that’s the only reason you see me this way.

Jeongguk can never win. No matter what he does or say, it seems like Jimin will never be convinced that he is worthy of his love and praises.

But it’s not like Jeongguk will ever give up.

“Yes, I do,” he says easily, factually, lowering himself until he can kiss along Jimin’s chest. “I love you so much and you are the most beautiful thing in this world.”

“Ah, who’s corny now?”

“Me. I’m corny, but that doesn’t make it untrue. Jimin-ah,” he says with severity as he raises himself enough to meet his eyes, “when did you become so much?”

Jimin is confused at first, but when he sees the look in Jeongguk’s gaze, he understands. “People say love dwindles with time, don’t they?” he muses, hands scraping down Jeongguk’s hair. “But with you – with you, with you – I just love you more with each passing day. Do you think we will ever burst? Clash and burn because of too much?”

It’s the alcohol and tiredness talking, but Jeongguk is right there with Jimin.

Kissing his skin, Jeongguk doesn’t think of that. He has other worries – those that he expressed an hour ago. This, this he can handle. “No. Who dies of too much love?”

“I never meant dying. Why are you so dramatic?”

“I meant hypothetical dying –“

“You’re being awfully hypothetical tonight –“

“But speaking of going insane, why does it matter?” A kiss to Jimin’s apple of Adam. “There’s nothing beyond you anyway. It’s either losing it or nothing, right?”

Jimin frowns, body going putty under Jeongguk. “I think you’re the one who needs sleep right now. Come on. Move, get under the covers.”

Jeongguk does as told, lifting himself away and then manhandling Jimin until they can both slip under the sheets, but he doesn’t let the subject go. Gathering Jimin under him again, he resumes his ministrations, lips to Jimin’s neck. “I’m serious. I know I sound really high right now, but – about what I said earlier too – if at some point in our future lifetime, we’re not together anymore, then – it will just not matter anymore. Life is not about falling in love, but when you already did – when you already have your other half, then it becomes the opposite. Life becomes about us together. I’m made of music and dance and spotlights, but if I don’t have you, then – well, actually, I don’t know. Maybe I will be alright. But it will not be the same.”

Jeongguk is rambling right now, his eyes already shut and lips pouty in an argument with his own self.

Yet, Jimin, as usual, knows exactly what he means. Life just wouldn’t be the same. They can survive without each other, but it will not be living.

“Yeah,” Jimin trails off, warm hand on Jeongguk’s puffy cheek. “Yeah, let’s cross that bridge if we get to it. I love you.”

Jeongguk smiles in his sleep. He is so beautiful, too. “Love,” he mutters like it’s a funny thing. “Yeah. Love. That’s you, Jimin-ah. My love. I love you.”

Jimin kisses him and keeps their lips pressed together, just barely touching, but there.

Despite the heaviness of their talks tonight, Jimin doesn’t worry. There is a long stretch of road ahead of them, full of spikes and bumps, but Jimin just –

He just doesn’t worry.

Not when they have this – time, and each other.

They’ll be just fine.

Still, like a vengeful afterthought, Jimin twists Jeongguk’s nipple. “I’m not gonna leave you, asshole.”

Jeongguk yelps, eyes still closed. “Okay, okay, I get it, I’m sorry. Why you gotta be so cruel, Jimin-ssi?” he moans, rubbing at his tender chest. “Always so rough.”

Jimin feels vindicated. He leans down and leaves a soothing kiss to Jeongguk’s nipple. “Love is rough.”

“Doesn’t have to be,” Jeongguk complains, but his hand tells a different story, sneaking around Jimin’s back and dipping down his ass, fingers fitting themselves between his cheeks and thumb pressing against his hole with a revenge of their own.

Satisfyingly, Jimin gasps shortly, mostly out of surprise, but there’s no denying in the way he chases them. “Jeongguk-ah… “

“Mm? Don’t get hard right now, Jimin-ssi. It’s late and we’re going to bed.”

“Then get your fingers out of my ass,” he grits in return.

Jeongguk does the opposite, rubbing deep and tantalizingly. “’M not doing anything.”

Jimin curses under his breath and Jeongguk laughs, ultimately retreating his fingers and patting his ass. “In the morning,” he consoles. “We have all morning tomorrow.”

Jimin’s lower lip juts out. “We have a lot of things to do in the morning.”

“We do,” Jeongguk agrees. “It’s a good thing we have so much time.”

The tentative arousal doesn’t go away from Jimin’s gut, but fatigue is stronger and most importantly, his Jeonggukie is sleepy.

So Jimin doesn’t argue. He only nestles into Jeongguk and kisses him one last goodnight. “Yeah. We have infinite hours ahead of us, Jeongguk-ah.”

Jeongguk utters only two words.

“Thank you.”
