Chapter Text
It has been almost a month since Langa and Reki had started dating. They had gotten together soon after Langa’s last beef with ADAM.
It had been a late night at the skate park they liked to go to. The two were soaked from their sweat, having skated for hours in the summer sun, and were lying on top of one of the quarter pikes that occupied the park. Langa had been the one to speak up first. He had been reflecting on the conversation he had had with his mother and had come to the concussion that he did in fact have romantic feelings for Reki. The moment just felt right to Langa, not traditionally romantic but the pair were anything but.
“I think I’m in love with you,” Langa had stated bluntly. Reki had froze trying to completely process Langa’s words. A blush slowly crept onto his face as his brain realized that his crush had confessed to him.
“I-I in l-love with you t-too,” Reki finally responded. Langa had hugged Reki tightly. Reki was a little shocked because Langa rarely initiated physical contact so Reki soaked it up.
They were technically boyfriends but not much changed between the two. Sure, Langa and Reki held hands and kissed but that was most in private or when they knew no one would notice. And the dates they went on were pretty unconventional.
As much as either of them wanted to be open about their relationship, there was a lot against them. Being a homosexual couple meant that they got more attention for simply holding hands than a heterosexual couple would. They had a long talk about what they were comfortable with especially around PDA. Langa and Reki had come to the mutual agreement that they would keep PDA to a minimum. They wouldn’t tell people about their relationship unless explicitly asked and they both were there.
If you really observed Reki and Langa before and after they got together you’d notice that now Langa indicated physical contact more and Reki was almost always touching Langa in some way. But, again, they were very subtle.
---
It’d had been a clouding Saturday night at S when the rest of the gang got to see the evolution in their relationship.
Reki had arrived before Langa, which was weird because they always arrived together. He had told the rest that Langa had needed to finish up some chores around his apartment and that he shouldn’t wait for him.
Langa had trudged up the mine about thirty minutes later. Reki knew something was wrong before Langa was even five meters away from where the group was standing and chatting.
He immediately jogged to Langa abandoning the conversation he was having with Shadow.
Ignoring Shadows shouts about rudeness, Reki cupped Langa’s face in his hands. His eyes were red and puffy indicating that he had been crying and it seemed that Langa was looking right through Reki.
“Hey,” Reki spoke softly, “Babe.” Langa perked up slightly at the pet name.
“Did something happen?” Reki questioned.
“I…,” Langa’s voice was small and distant, “I found some… um…” His eyes went glossy.
“Shhh, it’s ok, you don’t have to tell me,” Reki reassured him, bringing their foreheads together hand moving his hands to cup Langa’s. He knew what this was about. There was only one thing that made Langa like this: missing his dad.
“Do you want to go skate?” Reki asked.
Langa just shook his head slightly.
“How bout we go and sit somewhere?” Reki inquired.
Langa gave a nod and Reki intertwined their fingers and led him to some rocks hidden behind some trees.
They sat on top of the short rocks. Langa’s head was tucked under Reki’s chin. Reki ran his fingers through Langa’s hair and kissed the top of his head. Soft reassurances came from his mouth.
From a distance the rest of the S gang watched them. They had been watching the pair since Reki first ran to Langa. They were all hypnotized by temporary shock at first. Joe and Cherry were the first to snap out of it, seeing as they were also in a secret relationship with each other.
Miya had made some gagging noises once the initial shock wore off. Shadow was the last to recover. Once he did though he broke out in cries about it being unfair that the pair had found love at such a young age and he was still single.
---
On his chest, Reki felt Langa’s breath even out and heard soft snores escape his lips. Reki couldn’t help but smile, his boyfriend was so god damn cute. Though he found that there was a small problem. Though Langa was leaner than Reki he was still taller than him and the two had both skated to Crazy Rock. Softly placing his hand over Langa’s ears, even though Reki knew nothing could wake him, and called out for Joe. Reki was very aware of the audience he and his boyfriend had but frankly didn’t care too much.
Joe had come over to Reki. “Could you please drive Langa and I home?” Reki gave his best puppy dog eyes to help sway Joe.
Joe sighed. “Sure.”
Giving Joe a bright smile, Reki moved Langa in his lap to be sat bridal style and stood up. It wasn’t easy but he managed. Reki followed Joe to his car and places Langa in the back seat and went to the other side to join him.
“So which house are we going to?” Joe questioned from the driver’s seat.
“Langa’s, I can text my mom saying that I’ll be staying over,” Reki replied.
Joe nodded and started the car.
Langa had his head on Reki’s should and the latter was trying hard to fight the sleep that was tugging at his eyelids.
“Hey Reki,” Joe called from the front seat.
“Yeah?” Reki replied.
“Know that we all support you and Langa,” Joe spoke in a tone Reki had never heard him use before.
“...thanks,” Reki responded, a little unsure.
“And you’re not alone,” Joe added to help ease Reki further.
That caught Reki’s interest. “What?”
“You aren’t alone,” Joe repeated, “Me and Kauro have been dating for four years now.”
“Really?!” Reki whisper shouted mindful of his boyfriend sleeping on his shoulder.
“Yeah,” Joe chuckled, “Do your parents know?”
Reiki paused. “Langa’s mom knows but I haven’t told my parents yet…”
“That’s ok. You should do that on your time so don’t feel pressured to do so.”
“Yeah… Thank you.”
“No problem kid. I’m just glad the both of you are happy.”
Reki smiled and turned to the sleeping bluenette on his shoulder. Langa always looked so gorgeous when he was sleeping, Reki thought to himself.
The rest of the ride was quiet. Reki felt sleep pulling at his consciousness.
---
“Alright this we’re here,” Joe called quietly to Reki in the back.
Groggily Reki looked out the window at Langa’s apartment complex. He decided that he couldn’t carry Langa all the way to his apartment so he gently shook his shoulder. Langa made a grumble in protest of being woken up.
“Come on babe. We just have to walk to your apartment then we can sleep,” Reki reasoned.
Langa blinked the sleep out of his eyes and got a handle on his surroundings. “Joe?”
“Good morning kid,” Joe responded.
“He drove us here; now let’s get to your apartment so we can cuddle,” Reki pushed.
“Yeah,” Langa stated.
Reki opened his door and got out; Langa followed him.
Saying goodbye to Joe the pair walked to the entrance of the apartment complex. Luckily Langa’s apartment was on the 2nd floor so after a short elevator ride, they came to Langa’s apartment. Langa fished out his keys and unlocked the front door. The two stumbled into the small two-bedroom apartment. After taking off their shoes and locking the door behind them Langa and Reki head to Langa’s room.
“Let’s change real quick,” Reki said.
Langa just nodded in response, heading to his dresser and pulling out two pajama shirts and two pairs of shorts. He handed one set Reki and started to undress. Reki followed him. They haven’t gone all the way yet but they felt comfortable changing in front of each other.
Once they had their pj’s one they fell into the. Reki spooned Langa from behind, nestling his head into Langa’s neck. “Goodnight love.”
“Goodnight darling.”
