The day started off like it usually would. Basil was about to begin his daily routine consisting in taking care of his plants. It was his hobby, and the boy hoped he could make it a profession one day.
However, as Basil was heading outside, he began hearing footsteps coming from his garden. It sounded like... two people? What were they doing there? Polly couldn't be one of them, since she had left the house to go on a meeting with friends.
Wait, could it be... thieves?!
Basil became frightened at the thought, but he needed to check for himself. He grabbed his gardening shears for self-defense, and went to the garden. Only to see...
"Kel?! Angel?! What are you two-"
"Shit, he found us!" The shorter male said.
"We're here to eat your plants, of course!" Kel announced much to Basil's horror.
Flashbacks to those messages in the chat suddenly went through his mind. Sure, joking was fine, but they were... actually going that far with it? Just how insane could they get?
"You... what?!" Basil yelled. At this point he wasn't even mad, just very confused. Or concerned. Most likely both.
"Well, too late!" Angel said as he quickly began to run towards the first plant.
"Try and catch us if you can!" Kel started giggling as he headed towards another.
But Basil wasn't letting them get away with this absurdity. Not like this. He spotted a watering can and instantly got an idea. Basil dropped the shears, grabbed the can and felt that it was full. Perfect.
"Wait, what do you think you're doing?" Kel asked a little confused, but he didn't even have time to think about what to do next, since Basil started running around and spraying water at the pair.
Honestly, it felt like a scene straight up from a comedy movie. With Basil screaming for them to get out while the other two ran for their lives so they would not get any more soaked. If an outsider were to see this, they would definitely question how peaceful this town really was.
"Damnit, I told you not to take the joke too far! Now my sister will get mad at me!" Angel said angrily to Kel.
"But you were the one who went through with it!" Kel responded in a hurry. Both were definitely getting in trouble for this with their families.
Basil still couldn't believe what just happened. But he figured that because his friend group now had a bunch of delinquents, it was obvious that more disaster had the potential to happen. He sighed.
"Now... where was I?"
